I paid for personal training sessions and my trainer left. I went with my trainer. This gym demanded I pay Dec membership of $41 and give a 30 day notice. They will NOT refund my 18 sessions I paid for. The manager decided to tell me about my past due for last month in front of the gym members instead of taking me into the office. They told me I should have not bought so many sessions and I could use another trainer. I went there for my trainer bc I know him personally. I was told it was my trainers fault for leaving. They will not refund my money for training sessions. I have found out I'm not the only person they have treated this way. This is a total scam with this gym. I will never be back and corporate should be ashamed

I can't say enough great things about the Cape Coral Smash Fitness! From the moment you check in, the staff makes you feel welcome, supported, and motivated. They are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping members reach their goals.

I do fitness classes here. We need more bands in the fitness room. Some need to be replaced because they are frayed which is dangerous. They had a 8:30 class on Saturday morning but canceled because of low enrollment in December.More snow birds came in January, February, March, and April and I asked the manager/owner to give me a call but no one ever called. They said they needed 15 people to offer a class, I had more than that wanting a class back on Saturday morning at 8:30. It seems to be an obstacle course to get to the fitness room. I have been a member of this gym for several years.

This was my original review from last May. Now I am giving you one star instead of three. Decided to revise my review after a little bit of investigation why I'm BANISHED from Smash Fitness. Mr.B Wollis VP of Wollis Enterprise (Smash Fitness) needed to do more research on who actually complained to the fire chief. I checked with L (not naming the person) at the Cape Coral fire department and my NAME, PHONE NUMBER, OR ADDRESS was not involved with the complaint that was filed July 11. The fire department found your sprinkler alarm system hadn't been compliant for a few years. Friends informed me the back door is no longer chained shut and repaired which is a positive move. You said I harassed your managers but you were wrong in that statement because I only had phone and email contact with Katie, who didn't return a voicemail message and eventually blocked my email when I came back in October. You stated I should take my cheap third party senior insurance benefit and find a different fitness studios. Done!!!

Beware! I had called December 13th, 2023, talked to a Mike to put hubby’s account on pause. He said no problem, even small talked to him. Now February 1st, 2024, I realized they still kept charging for January and February 2024, called, spoke to a very RUDE lady. She said there is no pause. Hubby has to come in and cancel in person, fill out a paper. What a SCAM! Never again, be careful! So disappointed!

Replying to your answer as I don't see how to leave another reply to you: My husband was a member of this gym for many, many years, even put the floors in when one of the previous owners needed help. He never signed any papers with you, his membership was paused due to back problems before and if you don't pause, you should not have people answering the phone and say they would. If that "Mike" would have said so in December, my husband would have gone there and cancel in person. Please refund the 2 months - which you took out of my account against my wishes. So upsetting, to say the least!

Since Smash bought the previous gym, they have brought in some new equipment that is really nice. They have a new and modern glute machine now and a nice modern squat machine that is great for protecting a lifters back.

Perfect gym if you want to workout free of distractions. Music isn’t that loud. Usually isn’t that busy. Most people I’ve talked to are friendly and will let you work in with them on a machine. People are happy to help spot your lift or help you out with your form when lifting. Very very clean, cleanest gym I’ve been to by far, including the bathroom/locker room. Affordable price and the cancellation policy seems straightforward. Never had any bad interactions with any of the staff. Only suggestion is to add a weightlifting platform and a vertical climber, perhaps remove a Smith machine to make room.

I was told prior, if I come down to the gym I can try it out, like most gyms offer a complimentary pass to hopefully gain a new member. Being a professional athlete, I need to get a good feel for a gym before I commit to a membership and make sure it has what I need. I was so excited to train here. The very nice and welcoming girl working the front desk said I can try the gym today, and then I would have to sign up or get a day pass moving forward. Which was very nice. She showed me around, explained all the membership rates, told me about the gym. She did a great job, especially being so friendly at 5:00am. I was thinking this is great! I found what I am looking for in a gym. And was going to sign up. Until the owner felt it necessary to have the girl approach me, next to the owner, and say she had to pay out of her pocket for my day pass because the owner said she shouldn’t have let me train for the day for free. How humiliating. This poor girl had to pay out of her pocket and on top of that humiliate herself and me by telling me that? Right in front of the owner who said absolutely nothing to me. You think she would say welcome to my gym, something hospitable. Maybe she didn’t want me to train there or join her gym? Whatever it was I insisted on paying for my own day pass and will not join this gym. Very disappointed and offended.

Health & Strength was my gym of choice every time I would visit Cape Coral until I finally moved in, when of course I signed up for my monthly membership. I was very surprised about the price, comparing theirs to NYC’s prices is night and day, I couldn’t believe it.
I really don’t know where some bad reviews are coming from complaining about the owners, they definitely could not be nicer to me. I think we should all do our part, like taking care of the equipment that they as proud owners keep in perfect shape, be courteous with your fellow trainees and with the staff, follow the gym rules that are written everywhere, and you will see that you will receive the same treatment.
I take my fitness seriously, I have been in many gyms before (I’ve had 4 gym memberships at the same time!) and this is by far one of the best I know. I’m still to see a dumbell out of place, a sign of out of service on a machine, a piece of garbage on the floor. I absolutely recommend this place!

Owner was about as rude of a person that I have met. Did a day pass with a friend for 15.00 dollars each and after 10 minutes left. Very rude has his nose in the air like he is better then his customers. I would not recommend to anyone. I’m a very respectful person a military/law enforcement person. My wife and I travelled from Nova Scotia this past Spring and spent 4 weeks in Cape Coral. We wanted to join a local gym and after researching many of the localgyms we decided to join Health and Strength Gym. What initially interested us in this gym was their straightforward fees with no add ons. We were very glad we joined this gym as it not only has everything you would ever want relative to equipment, but the owners and staff are very friendly and approachable. This also extends to the membership as their members were also very friendly and helpful. Perfect gym for locals and visitors alike. My husband and I came to Cape Coral on vacation this past week. I have a serious strength and cardio training regiment at home and I always look for a local gym to join to get my daily fix. I enjoy working out at a gym where people are friendly, enjoy helping others, and are also serious about their fitness goals. I joined Health and Strength gym for the week and couldn't have been happier. The gym is loaded with equipment and had an exercise classroom that I used to jump rope in. I found myself losing track of time and spending a couple hours a day here. Mike and Carol, the owners, were incredibly friendly and helpful if I was looking for a particular type of machine or just wanted to try out a new pre-workout mix. If you needed to, you could get in and out fast, but I found the gym family vibe to be infectious. A couple of the gym regulars helped me come up with new ways to target particular muscle groups when my regular equipment wasn't available. I highly recommend this gym for anyone from fitness newbie to gym junkie.

Nice cozy gym. I have been a member here for the last five to six years. I attend the Zumba classes. They offer many different classes all week long. Check Lilly's Zumba class out, she has got to host the best class in Cape Coral. She does it 3 times a week 0930 Monday, Wednesday it's 1130, Friday 0930. For other classes check the schedule as classes are added and deleted by attendance.

Planet Fitness says it’s a no judgement gym but the atmosphere here despite the lunkheads is way better than Planet or any other chain gym. Only 4 stars because of the hours. This place has been open for over 10 years so I’m assuming they’ve considered being 24/7 but I’d love to see this place 24/7 or at least have hours till 12am since I work late hours.

This is a good gym, it doesn't get crowded, there's excellent equipment, and it's affordable. However, I'm quite disappointed that the gym closed way earlier than advertised on the website yesterday (Saturday 05-27-17). There was no message or notification that hours were going to change for memorial weekend before hand. Really messed up my and training partner's routine.
All in all it is a good gym but a bit unreliable. Communication to it's members could improve.

I absolutely love this place. It has an old-school feel with a good vibe. The staff is very friendly very helpful, the classes are great, and the protein shakes are amazing. Although I live out of state, every time I come back to Cape Coral, I always try to squeeze in a workout at Health & Strength Gym.

Just moved to the area from out of state. I love this gym. The staff is very nice and friendly. The facility is the cleanest one I've ever been a member of. They are constantly cleaning and all of the equipment is in great working condition and if it's not they have someone in there fixing it right away. This is probably the best gym I've ever been to.

Staff very friendly and helpful with teaching correct way to use the equipment. Hardly ever have to wait for a piece of equipment. No complaints with this gym and I have been to several different ones.

This is a family owned gym and you can tell they take pride in the facility the moment you walk through the door. The gym is always clean and organized. All weights are always in their correct spot. Some of the equipment is a lttle dated but is properly maintained. Overall a great place.

I am a Florida transient so this gym is a great option as I can pay a reasonable fee monthly and have access to an impressive amount of equipment and classes. The owners are very nice and accommodating. Mike is a great personal trainer. I highly recommend this gym.

Its the best Gym in hole CC!!

The stuff and the other guys in the gym are nice and friendly.
Its a nice and cool atmosphere (a little bit hardcore) in the Gym. Its not the newest gym
but defently the best. The only thing why i don't give 5 stars are the opening times.
The starter this week to close on Saturday at 5 pm and Sunday already at 3 pm. I hope
they change the opening times again, maybe just an hour longer and open up an hour later at the weekend. Otherwise top gym!!!

Be careful with the Credit Card automatic payment!!!
I'm very disappointed of the experience. I tried this gym for a month (3-4 times only) and I decided not go anymore. At the end of September I asked polite the same lady which open my account to close it! She wrote on a piece of paper and said 'it's OK'. After 2 months they are still charging $22 per month!! I visited today the gym to solve this issue (maybe was a mistake)again another lady wrote down on piece of paper and the owner 'will take care' or to come again and maybe I will find the manager to speak with him in the morning?!? No direct phone, no appointment, no follow up!! just TRY AGAIN !! Looks like this is how the business go at this gym!
I don't to discuss about the quality of the air inside!

The best gym in town, by far. Best equiptment (old school!) , best people (dedicated and polite), best atmosphere (organized and clean). If you like the old school feel and you want to look forward to training this is the place for you.
Only bad part is that I didn't join earlier. I've been to almost every gym in town, nothing compares.

Spin classes were great but there were not enough bikes. The trainer was the owner of the gym. Had to make a couple of appointments because he canceled. Then he finally took me around on the machines for 20 minutes. Told me he would write up a plan for me (I'm not a fitness buff so I needed some help getting started). He never got around to that despite me asking several times. I finally just stopped asking and didn't rejoin. It appeared to me that they are looking for people who really know their way around a gym, not folks who are just starting out.

Went to this gym thinking of joining and a few things deterred me from doing so. First, apparently the owners or managers looked like they had abused the use of steroids, the guy had a big belly, slumped huge shoulders and the like, the girl, well it didn't look like a girl. I am sorry if this sounds like I am complaining about their appearance, I am not, it is just that a gym should encourage members to achieve a healthy life style and not to substance abuse. About the gym, it didn't have a nice flow, it had a lot of walls and it seems that most areas are isolated from the rest of the main floor, I noticed spit on the floor and some young adults expressing profanities in front of my kids. About the price, it seems that most gyms in Cape Coral have the same rate, thus I joined LA Fitness for the same price.

Ive been going to your gym since I moved down here from NY in 2004. What has impressed me most is the abundance of equipment available for use at anytime. Mike, the owner, is very accommodating and friendly. His smoothies are also the best in town! More power to you!
