I know this review is longer than most, but a short one wouldn’t do justice to the impact Celio’s coaching has had on my life. I hope you’ll read it through to the end, especially if you are considering working with him.
I first heard about Functional Patterns years ago through a close friend who took the 10-week course and kept telling me to transition from lifting to FP. I didn’t take the advice seriously until I was living in Switzerland, where there was no local studio. While searching online I came across Celio’s Instagram page. There were other practitioners closer to me and even in my time zone, but I was impressed with how he translated FP principles into actual movements on the basketball court and constantly adapted and innovated his approach. I reached out to ask if he would take on a client in Europe, and even though he was in Florida, he had no problem agreeing to coach me remotely. We have now been working together for over a year.
I began training with Celio after noticing knee pain while running that continued even when I walked. Within weeks the pain disappeared and my posture significantly improved.
About six months into his coaching, I experienced another major health shift. I had issues with poor circulation, which meant my hands and feet were always freezing, and my limbs would sometimes go numb. At one point I was told I might have an autoimmune disorder. One day out of the blue, and in the middle of a Swiss winter, I realized I was no longer cold and the numbness had gone away. The change was so gradual I did not even notice it until it happened.
Months later I hit a plateau in training. I was not getting stronger and had lost all motivation to sprint, something I had been excited about before. When Celio asked about it, I could not explain why. He encouraged me to trust my body but also suggested I get bloodwork done, and specifically to check my ferritin levels, even though my iron had always tested normal in the past. He was right to push me in that direction. The latest test showed that my hemoglobin was technically normal but at the low end of the range, and my ferritin reserves were nearly depleted. After a couple of iron infusions and some dietary adjustments I felt like a completely new person. I almost immediately doubled what I could lift and had way more energy, and that was only a month ago.
Celio has been patient, thoughtful, persistent, and flexible throughout this past year. Being remote has also not taken anything away from the quality of his coaching. He is always paying attention, not letting me get away with half effort, and constantly looking to understand why my body is moving or feeling a certain way so he can adapt the sessions accordingly. In short, I hired him to help with gait issues and ended up with a much better quality of life in just one year. I hope my experience encourages you to work with Celio. I cannot recommend him enough.

Before coming to SoFlo Biomechanics, I spent nearly two years in a traditional physical therapy and training program, consistently showing up and doing the work, hoping for long-term healing. Instead, I often found myself in more pain, sometimes getting injured during sessions that were meant to support my recovery. I repeatedly expressed discomfort and concerns, but I was not truly heard. I was pushed through pain, dismissed when I spoke up, and ultimately made to feel like I was the problem rather than someone in need of a better, more holistic approach.
When I finally made the decision to stop, I knew I needed to find a place where my entire body and overall well-being would be considered, not just the site of an old injury. In just six weeks at SoFlo Biomechanics, I experienced more genuine relief and progress than I did in those entire two years. The team approaches the body as a connected system. Every movement is explained, every exercise is intentional, and the atmosphere is one of patience, care, and empowerment. They listen. They adapt. They encourage without pushing past pain.
My posture has significantly improved. My body feels stronger as a whole. And most importantly, I am no longer living in daily pain. I feel seen, supported, and respected here. This kind of healing work has the potential to change lives, especially for those who have felt stuck or dismissed by outdated models of therapy. I am incredibly grateful to have found SoFlo Biomechanics and encourage anyone looking for real progress to explore what they offer.

I attended a myofascial release workshop taught by Amber recently, and it was nothing but fantastic! She was not only extremely knowledgeable, but also very patient and kind. I practice martial arts, and it

This is no nonsense gym with all of their trainers focused on one thing which is to help facilitate the journey of improved physical health. I like the wide variety of exercises that are used in the 1:1 one hour training sessions and group classes. I've worked out with a few different personal trainers over the years and Graham at SoFlo Biomechanics is the best one from my experience. He is extremely knowledgeable about not only exercise but also nutrition. He pushes and encourages me in the right way. I would highly recommend this gym for anyone looking for experienced trainers who have your best interests in mind.

As a professional basketball player I had a lot of knee pain and stiffness from the sport. I came to SoFlo Biomechanics to solve it. Working with one of the trainers Celio Araujo, he helped me understand where is the pain coming from and better understanding of my body. Instead of focusing on isolated body parts, we did all the exercises for the whole body and movements that will help me move better on the court, be better athlete and produce more power from the body without putting much pressure on my joints and ligaments which is really important. I’m feeling way more elastic, stronger and powerful after only few weeks working with him. I recommend it to everyone out there who is dealing with some type of pain or problem inside of their body, great trainer and great person to work with, with a lot of knowledge!

I cannot recommend Ricky Nater and SoFlo BioMechanics enough. When I first started working with Ricky, I was dealing with pain in my upper back, shoulder, and scapulas, as well as unbalanced shoulders. My right shoulder was noticeably lower than my left, and I was frustrated by the discomfort and limitations these issues were causing me. I knew I needed help to strengthen my body and retrain my muscles to move correctly, and Ricky was exactly the expert I needed.
From the very first session, Ricky’s expertise and personalized approach stood out. His training method, Functional Patterns, is nothing short of revolutionary. He focuses on identifying your body’s weaknesses and imbalances and works methodically to restore normal physiology. I have been with working out with Ricky and attending group classes for a few weeks.I have fairly good knowledge of movement and body mechanics but needed some external motivation to get back in shape .SoFlo Biomechanics has offered me a safe place to workout .No judgement passed just encouragement to achieve your goals at your pace .No gimmicks,sales pitch just a group of knowledgeable people who have a passion for what they offer.
The group of instructors provide a solid foundation , teaching ,correcting techniques in order to prevent injuries for the more challenging movements.
Aside from the improvement in strength,endurance and mobility,Ricky ( being a professional dancer)has been helpful in relating my training to my passion for Latin dancing 💃🏽

So Flo biomechanics team has changed the way I see working out. Working out intentionally and functionally, has not only helped me rehabilitate my back injuries and chronic ankle injury , but has provided me the knowledge to incorporate posture correcting mechanics throughout the day.
