Love the gym and offered childcare, just disappointed with the attitude of front desk staff at times, especially when asking a question about a sport I signed my toddler up for. I go out of my way to be nice to people, I expect professionalism and kindness in return at a place we’re spending money. Other than that I would give this place 5 stars.

JJ, the director of the Edgewater YMCA, is not professional. JJ has a coach named Sirju who is a friend of his in the 8-10 basketball team. That team only won because JJ was always the referee when it was his turn to play, and JJ didn't count the fouls that team made. He unfairly sent Couch Eric out. Couch Eric called timeout three times, but JJ completely ignored him. When Couch Eric came onto the court, he told him he had to leave the game. They should consider removing JJ as the director of this YMCA and not giving him the opportunity to work elsewhere because he is not professional.

The ymca is a nice facility. I liked the water aerobics until water got to hot. It's like a sauna. They need to put a tempature control on pool to cool water.
I just called about rejoining, however no temp control.

Edgewater YMCA camp team amd counselors are amazing! My daughter had a hard time at first, this review would have gone very differently, but the director Saphyia took the time out to make sure she was comfortable and happy. They taught her so much in only a few short days! She loves the water now and is so confident in herself swimming. I cant thank them enough! She cant wait to go back!!

My son came there with some friends while on vacation from a different state. He’s never been to FL. Well I guess it’s do whatever you want to people and there will be no consequences. A older kid hit him in the face a broke his glasses and nothing was sad to the other person. No one at this YMCA said ANYTHING. It’s sad that violence is Oka at this YMCA. SMH

Went here over the summer for the pool and took advantage of the swim classes. My son had a bad experience with lessons at an aqua tots swim school and since then refused to swim without a float. Sasha gave him lessons and she was so gentle and patient, really took her time and made it a positive experience for him. Now, he’s swimming by himself and confident in his abilities. I really recommend their swim lessons, prices were also very reasonable.

They are hosting a Holiday fat burn 🔥 challenge and it was cheap to sign uo for 12 classes over 6 weeks with a person trainer! You get access to the gym, so even on days ur not scheduled class you can still rip it up! I'm super excited to have this opportunity and can't wait to see my results at the end!

The absolute best gym Edgewater has to offer. It has a recreational basketball ball court, a moderate sized weight room with a ton of treadmills, ellipticals, a stair master, concept 2 rowers, bikes and spin bikes. state of the art matrix leg press and platform, matrix power rack, life fitness cable station with eight adjustable pulleys, dumbbells from 1lbs to 110lbs, kettlebell set, smith machine and a ton of even newer equipment (6/21/23) to replace the old cybex stuff and they have a competition style bench press.
You can't beat membership prices or the 24hr price. The also have a seasonal pool and spin classes, pickleball on Tuesday and Thursday I believe and other classes as well. Kidzone daycare during select hours and the best staff in the world! What a transformation this establishment has made!!

Kids t-ball is an absolute mess. From sign up to the games there is such a lack of coordination from the YMCA. It's a shame I had to pay money for this. Everything is last minute including picture sign up. Parents go to New Smyrna programs way better. Kids enjoy it but program unprofessional this year.

The SE Volusia YMCA is more than a place for fitness. During Covid the staff at the Y made sure all of the children of first responders had child care when the schools were closed. They ensured the children were fed, cared for and school work was completed. Amazing things happen at the SE Volusia YMCA. ♥️

Bathrooms (woman's) were so bad I had to have my husband take my 6 year old into the men's room.

Edit: This was when they had the princess ball there. We were all filled up in ball gowns. Besides the restroom it was great.

Bathroom, showers, and common areas are kept very clean. The Y needs to remind members to wipe down equipment used or assign Y staff to clean equipment. The Y staff in Port Orange is consistently cleaning equipment. Noticeable differences between the Port Orange and Edgewater YMCA. Staff is friendly. 24 hour membership is a great advantage. Not convinced their security set up would work in an emergency. Gym recently remodeled and looks great. Gym has additional and new equipment. Never a wait to use cardio or weight equipment.

This is the second day I have called to get information about birthday parties there. The first day I was told she would have somebody call me back which never happened. Second day my husband called and she told him she cannot find the book about birthday parties and to call back on Monday to give her time to find the book. I also sent a message on Facebook that was read and never responded to. We have decided to eliminate this as an option for my daughters party with the lack of professionalism and organization shown during this process.

It's wonderful to have the YMCA located in Edgewater and for the most part everything is nice for an older facility. However some of the equipment should be replaced and unfortunately Edgewater seems to only get hand me down equipment when one of the other areas facilities get new.
