We are a Central Florida gym with a focus on old school bodybuilding and powerlifting. With hand selected equipment, large posing room, cold plunge, and turf area you will find what you are looking for at this location.

Southern Strength is the real deal. It has grit, it's not fluffy. Its a GYM. All walks of life are there too. You'll see 220lb body builders and people like me, a 53 year old bean pole just starting out. My husband loves it there and now I do too. For what its worth, legitimate reviews have a Photo and Name.. no lies :)

Great gym with amazing staff!
I’ve had an excellent experience here. The equipment is always clean and well-maintained, and there’s a wide variety for every type of workout. Im pretty new to working out and this gym was a gem of a find. Staff and other members are always nice and give great advice when needed. 24/365 helps a lot with odd work schedules. Always playing good music and just a great environment to be a part of. Would recommend to anyone looking for that perfect gym.

I’ve been going to southern strength for just over a month now. By far the best gym around. The staff is great, fellow members are awesome and offer great advice, music playlist is usually good, and the posing room is large and offers multiple lighting settings to maximize your progress photos. My personal favorite things about southern strength is the unique equipment you won’t find in more commercialized gyms, and the positive non-congested atmosphere.

Hands down the best gym in Polk County.
This gym has all the equipment you will ever need and then some.
As soon as we entered we were greeted by the owner, Bryan, and he asked what we were hitting for the day, then showed us every piece of equipment for those muscle groups.
Highly recommend switching to this gym regardless of where you currently go. You won’t be disappointed.

I set up a meeting with the owner, For a showing of the gym at 10am. I got there at 9:50. Walked up, place is locked. Waited til 10, he never showed up. I left. He messaged me at 3 pm said he owes me a free workout but never set anything up. I don’t really understand the business here. I was also interested in personal training.

If you love iron, you'll love this gym. Feels like I'm back in the military on deployment working out. Even has an outside area for lifting weights. The posing room is nice for those competing. Highly recommend this gym for anybody who loves lifting iron!

Just went and got a day pass recently.. yep I’ll be back that’s what a real gym is like!!! Staff was super friendly the guy I talked took me on a fully detailed tour. Being that I’ve competed in bodybuilding it’s hard to find an old school gym but this is old school vibes but with modern perfect equipment! Bodybuilders dream nice and quite not over crowed clean equipment that works perfect what else could you ask for? All the peace’s were definitely hand picked with the gym user in mind unlike commercial gyms who put none sense. The losing room is a ima touch that no one else has first time in 10 years being in a gym with a porpoise built losing room it was sick!

One of my favorite gyms in Polk county. The owners are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and the equipment is pristine. The gym has something for everyone. 2 deadlift platforms for the powerlifters, a posing room for bodybuilders, and lots of machines and free weights for everyone in between.

Love this gym. Owners Brian and Brandon are great people. The people there are polite and friendly. Equipment is great. Old-school gym with plenty of weight. If you are looking for a non commercial gym at a great price with trainers available. I'd recommend this place 100%

Local, and right around the corner in South Lakeland. They have the real deal Olympic 45lb and 100lb plates at this gym. Even the old school steel plate dumbbells up to 150lbs. Plus the necessary needed machines and equipment to get a killer work out. This isn't a commercial gym( Just Move and Crunch) this is the gym that if you want to get serious gains and results in. You come here. Plus 24 hours! With real deal weights, not that rubber coated BS that says 45lbs, but feels like 30lb plates.

Best Gym around!! The atmosphere is great! They Have all the equipment you could need for a great workout! The owners are phenomenal! They make sure everyone that comes to their gym feels welcome! First impressions are everything and this gym is the spot! Family friendly and you always have the feeling of needing to go back and personally I don’t feel that like that with big overcrowded gyms. Did I mention its 24/7? That is one big reason why I enjoy it so much! You go when it’s convenient for you! Overall, this is the new hotspot. I won’t be going anywhere else for a long time! Hope this place takes off for others to experience a true gym experience!
