I recently took the men’s introductory reformer series at Spark Pilates, and it was a fantastic experience. I work out regularly and my gym routine usually focuses on heavy weightlifting, but this class challenged me in new ways. It really worked my core, improved stability, and gave me a great stretch that balanced out my usual training. The instructor made the class approachable while still keeping it engaging and effective. I’d highly recommend the men’s class to anyone looking to complement their strength training with something that builds control, flexibility, and balance.

Spark Pilates in Lithia is the best Pilates studio in the area! The owner, Jen, is the kindest and most caring person I’ve ever met. She pours every ounce of her energy into her students and community. Jen focuses on traditional Pilates, the method taught by Joseph Pilates himself, and she stays true to the practice.

I work out at the gym 2–4 times a week and wanted to try Pilates to see what the hype was all about. I recently took the Intro to Reformer Class for Men, and let me tell you, Pilates is incredible! It’s gentle yet strength-building for the entire body. It perfectly complements my gym routine by targeting stabilizer and smaller muscles, something I especially need as I approach 50. On my own, I don’t typically hit my abs, but after these classes, I could feel my core fully engaged.

If you’ve been considering Pilates, look no further. This is the best Pilates studio in the area, hands down. Kudos to Jen for creating a space where both men and women feel truly welcomed and cared for. 10 out of 10, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This studio is more than just a Pilates studio, this is a happy place. The instructor (Jen) is incredible. She gets to know you and your body (ex:previous injury) and will provide modifications so all can get through the workouts. Jennifer has created a unique and welcoming space for all interested in better health. Notice I didn’t just say Pilates. I have been going to Spark Pilates for five years! I started out with private sessions. Jen (the owner) is extremely knowledgeable! She got to know every muscle in my body very quickly and adapted all of our sessions to the specific needs of MY body. This is very rare to find!! As I get older, I’ve had some injuries to my body (never from Pilates). Jen has always been there to rehab me back to health. I switched to group sessions about two years ago. I look forward to going to my group classes 2 to 3 times per week. I am in the best shape of my life at the age of 52. This is all due to Jen’s hard work and patience with my very sensitive body 😀. 100 stars to Spark Pilates!!!

Jen and her studio are the absolute BEST. I am so thankful I found her almost two years ago. I had never done Pilates but I was recovering after two major surgeries from injuries to my hips and I needed a low impact way to rebuild my strength/mobility and supplement my physical therapy. Jen knew exactly what I could and couldn’t do, she coached me at my pace, and now I feel like a total pro (with a lot more to learn of course). She always knows what my body is struggling with just by looking at me and helps me adjust to protect me from unnecessary soreness or injury. She’s a wonderful human and her classes are always the right mix of challenging and rejuvenating. I also LOVE Mel’s classes—they are always so creative and fun and I leave feeling like I did some serious work but in a great way. My body feels so strong and healthy and I attribute it to this amazing studio and its too notch instructors who get to know you and truly care about you! Spark has been a positive and impactful addition to my life.

I couldn't recommend a business more than this one. After visiting an Orthopedic specialist several times and doing 6 weeks of Physical Therapy, my lower back and left sciatic had not improved at all. The only change was in my bank account as my funds have decreased. I was then referred to Spark Pilates (Jen) and thought this was odd since PT did nothing. Well, I was wrong. After one session, I felt no pain in my left sciatic. After the second session, most of my lower back pain was gone. I am not sure how she does it but I have improved dramatically after only 3 sessions. Jen is absolutely amazing. She continues to change the workouts so you have a chance to workout different areas. I look forward to each session to see what's next. If you have any back/sciatic pain, I strongly suggest you give her a call.

At the beginning of February 2022, I left a message via the contact form. Jen called me the same day and left a detailed voice message. We set up trial sessions, which grew into a larger individual pilates training package, that flourished into a group membership.
Jen is incredibly knowledgable, kind, and compassionate. She's attentive to her clients needs. Plus, she's funny. The workouts are challenging but fun, and I never feel overly worked out, like I can't move the next day.
The women I've taken group with are extremely inviting. Be prepared to laugh because these people have a sense of humor. It makes the time go by!! The members who come in after my class engage like family.
I suppose this is the result of small business--small, caring and authentic business. Sparks is a gem. Glad and thankful to have (finally) walked through the doors. Thanks!

I cannot speak to this owner, Jen's ability to each pilates. Sadly, I actually never got to that point. As a 'potential' new client, not only am I disappointed with how she treated me, at minimum it's just poor business. More importantly, it speaks to her ability to connect and treat people with respect.

I reached out to this studio in mid-October since we now spend half the year in Tampa. I'm a pilates loyalist and I belong to an excellent studio close to our other home. My instructor there thought, given Jen's background (as I investigated studios in advance and shared the info with her), that it would be a good fit. This studio also uses the same equipment as my other studio.

When you call, the voice mail isn't personalized and after a couple times of trying (I called and did leave a voice mail), I decided to email on Oct 19th. The email went unanswered until Nov 1st. I honestly didn't know if the studio was even still in business since the website says you would receive a response within 24 hours if you email on their pre-filled form online and I wasn't receiving any responses. It's hard to tell these days with how COVID restrictions have impacted small business unfortunately.

When Jen responded Nov 1st she indicated that she and her children had been sick, her kids still had ear infections and she apologized for not responding sooner. No problem! Things come up and we hadn't arrived in Tampa yet anyway. I wasn't going to hold that against her. Life sometimes takes over. She said she couldn't take on private students until the middle of the month and if I was still interested, to let her know and she would respond with available times.

Due to the nurture of my work, I'm extremely client service oriented and therefore very responsive via email, etc. I responded right away and said yes. I was happy to hear that everyone was on the mends and that I get it, things come up. Running a business and a family is busy and challenging.

That said, I never heard from her again. I then decided to just join a group class and tried to sign up online, but it wasn't accepting some of my info to buy a pass and sign into a class, so I left a voice mail asking for help. Hey, I just wanted to get on to a reformer. Again, no response.

I did see her continue to see her post on social media, so illness or family emergency at this point is unlikely. I started to wonder if I had done something to offend her. I re-read my response to her, but it was fine! Incredible that now I'm the one second guessing myself over being treated poorly by someone else?? Kind of ironic.

Honestly, I debated for a while about writing this review, however if this is how you treat another person, I don't care how wonderful you might be to 'existing' clients or how well they think you instruct.

Buyer beware. She doesn't deserve new clients. May her old ones never leave on if she wishes to stay in business.

I found another studio here in Tampa at an equal distance from my home and that owner txt'ed me as soon as I left a voice mail. That set the tone from the beginning and I appreciate her instructing as well as how she treats and appreciates her clients - new and old.

That's how you run a business. Jen is clearly has a lot to learn.

I love the small class sizes which allow you to become familiar with others who come to the studio. It's not just a place to work out, it's a family. Great experience! Very qualified instructor who has an extensive understanding of fitness beyond just Pilates and was able to seamlessly transition to virtual classes during the pandemic. Being new to Pilates, I've been taking one-on-one sessions for about a year and half and I have really noticed a difference in my entire body and especially my core muscles (muscles I didn't even know I had! - LOL).. Nice intimate studio with very nice and friendly women in the classes.

I started pilates at Spark Fitness over a year ago. I have never enjoyed exercising before starting Pilates! The reformer machine is the best! The instructors are very knowledgeable and I love the small class sizes. Instructors are always watching closely and correcting alignment / form so you don’t have to worry that you are doing something wrong that will cause an injury. All my aches and pains are gone and my strength has improved tremendously!

I have been a client at Spark Fitness for 5 years and would not go any where else. The individual attention you receive at spark is beyond expectations.
Every group classes feels like a private training session. Jennifer and the instructors know their clients and their bodies needs so well that they are able to tailor every exercise for each client in the class while, at the same time, providing group class instructions. Life changing! I went to Spark about 3 years ago after I had a C-section and was ready to get back into my old body, but was scared I was going to injure myself. A doctor recommended Spark fitness and told me Jenn Killian is a miracle worker and would help me achieve the dramatic results I so desperately wanted. The trainers at Spark care about your individual body and your alignment. This isn't a one size fits all type studio that lets you do 100 squats in poor form. These are trainers that know if you have had an injury and remember, whether you are in a private session or a group fitness class, simply because they care about you. In 3 months I could see definition in my abs again and could feel my ab muscles connected to my own body (remember I had a C-section). In 6 months I was in the best shape of my life. I won't train with anyone else because I am never bored and keep getting results. In 3 years I have never done the same workout twice. Another thing I love about Spark is how great it makes my body feel and how much I love working out with Jenn and Casey. I never dread the gym anymore because they make it so enjoyable and personalized I feel like I am working out with friends.

I am only 40 but after a boating accident at 32 and ongoing back problems stemming from various workout injuries, I had constant back issues leaving me hardly able to sleep and walk, until I tried Spark Fitness after being referred there by none other than the physical therapist. I had been regularly going to physical therapy, getting steroid injections directly into my SI joint, and had used many different chiropractors, still after almost a year, I was not feeling better. Within 2 months of working with Jennifer, I was up and moving again and with ongoing classes I continued to get better. I stopped for a while due to hectic life and work schedules and noticed my old injuries come back with the same symptoms. So, back to Spark I went and again, Jenn and her methods, knowledge, and helpful attitude got me back to normal. It is a great workout as well as a way to treat and avoid further injury. I highly recommend Spark and suggest you check it out for yourself.

I have been training at this studio since Jennifer and Paul Killian opened this studio in 2013. Jen's Pilates certification and Paul's personal training certification ensures that all clients get the combined benefits of Pilates and personal training - they combine elements of both in their Pilates circuit classes. The group class sizes are small (5-7) which means that each client gets individual attention from the instructors, Jen, Paul, and Kasey - they make it a point to offer corrections to postures and "form" so as to prevent injury and improve posture during each workout. And this is in "group" classes not just personal training sessions! They also utilize various props and equipment so that the training builds muscle strength and improves flexibility in addition to a cardiovascular workout. And most importantly, all the instructors enjoy working with their clients - their passion and enthusiasm for their work shines through!

I love this studio. Overcoming a knee injury and was having difficulty finding exercises that didnt irritate it. Kasey and Jen helped me modify exercises until my knee was strong enough to do movements the regular way. I have zero knee pain now! Reformer classes are my favorite.

My husband and I both have taken Pilates classes and personal training with Jen and Paul as well as Reformer classes with Casey. All instructors provide expert advice in a safe environment. I've been taking classes at Spark fitness pretty consistently for the past 2 years now and I can't say enough about the incredible instructors and classes. I've been to a couple of different Pilates studios, and the instructors at Spark are by far the most knowledgeable of any instructors I've ever worked with. They give a lot of individualized attention to make sure you're doing the exercises properly. When I first started going to classes at Spark I had some low back issues, and the instructors always made sure I was protecting my back while doing the exercises and modified them if needed. In the past two years my back has gotten so much stronger, and I owe it all to Pilates and the instructors there. No two classes are ever the same and I always leave class feeling better than when I walked in!
