best gym, i go here and it’s amazing, i’ve been here for a long time and the coaches always want me to do my best and never over push me, they listen to how there gymnasts feel and take it upon from there, all the coaches are amazing and they always make it a enjoyable experience and even if we don’t do well sometimes they always push us to move on and do our best!

Jamie has been nothing but accommodating and helpful! We just moved to the area and she has been one of the most helpful people, at any gym in the area, that I have encountered! She is quick to respond to emails and phone calls and does her best to make customers happy. 💯 Recommend!!! Ask for Jamie!

Not a safe place for children! They have 8 children under the age of 4 in one room with one coach. They are to follow thru with stations. One of the stations was to place hands on the ground and walk up a wall while facing it. There is no spotter, no one to show the kids how to do this task. So my child fell on her head and the coach didn't even notice because she was busy with 7 other stations of small kids to manage. My child laid there for a decent amount of time. As I began to enter the room to see if she was okay, she finally raised her head. Not worth a neck injury for us.
I asked for an injury record and someone at the office to reassure us that safety was a priority, when they didn't get back to me I canceled. They still didn't get back to me, but they remembered to charge my credit card!

I am writing this review with a heavy heart but I believe it is my obligation to share with you our experience with Starlight. Our journey started 7 years ago when my daughter was only 3 and had a passion for handstands :). Starlight was a great place, coaches were professional, kind and caring. Her path led to the competitive gymnastics and she loved it. She was scoring high at every competition and moving up levels. She was always eager to go to practice, excited to see her friends, dedicated to her improvement and coaches.
About 2 years ago I noticed the change that started happening. It began with coaches leaving left and right, lack of communication from the management and then half of the parents and gymnasts left. We were approached to leave as well and join the other girls at other facility but my daughter wanted to stay with Starlight believing it is just a faze. Well, unfortunately, the faze is still there. The lack of professionalism, rude and bullying comments from one of the coaches ( who is the son of the owner), lack of communication, the unconcerned attitude of the owner ( who spoke to me only once in 7 years and I spent over $35k there total), the constant changes in coaches and booster club is very very disturbing and concerning. My daughter's passion for the sport was killed! This is very hard to forgive.
Thankfully we found another gym and a coach who listened and all my daughter's fears disappeared. She wants to compete again!

The gym is kept very clean. Compared to other gyms, how they have the different classes going on is more organized like they have alot of room and they're not cutting through other people's class. Teachers are very patient with the kid. And they team is excellent they girls actually get scholarships to college and they place in competition alot. My daughter is 4yrs old and has been there for 7 months but she does a great cartwheel backbends from standing great split etc...they really learn skills. Even in the preschool class; which is where she started. Join starlight gymnastic!!

We switched from another gym. So far everything is going very well. My daughter loves gymnastics again. She had dropped out after a bad experience at the other gym. Coaches seen excellent.

I started coaching in July 2016. I have taught classes a number of years ago in PA and was a competitive gymnast until I was eighteen. I was hired on the spot to begin training which was supposed to be paid. Once school started, I was working another job and was having difficulty getting to the gym with traffic. I also began pursuing my second degree and had evening classes. Unfortunately, I was no longer able to coach any longer. I was not paid a single dime for my time. I called twice a week for over a month to talk to the owner to thank her for the opportunity, explain that I was going back to school while working another job, and discuss my method of payment. She never called me back until I took a further step. She lied saying she never got a phone call from me, although I have confirmation emails from the front desk. She also said that training is not paid, which was not as discussed. During my time there, I was told that they have not had a new coach stay for more than a day in over a year. The coaches there are very qualified, although I would definitely not suggest for someone new to begin working at Starlight. If you do, require everything to be in writing.

It would help if the people who keep posting these DEGRADING remarks about this gym to please stop. It would be wise to learn how to spell the word degrading anyway. I have been a gymnast at this gym for 14 years. My experiences here have been wonderful to say the least, I have gained a second family. The coaches at this gym work with you and are more than knowledgeable about the sport of gymnastics. They do not force you to do try a skill that you don't feel ready to do. I think it is important to write this review being an actual gymnast rather than a parent. I have been on the Optional Team for about 8 years and have been a level 10 gymnast for six years. The coaches here have prepared me for every competition season and helped me achieve my dreams of getting a college scholarship to an SEC school. I have been a gymnast at this gym longer than anyone else and it is the best gym in Jacksonville. The coaches do not make degrading remarks, they are called corrections. It is to help the gymnast perfect a skill better. So please stop with the nasty reviews of this gym because they are all lies. What's that saying?, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." WAR EAGLE.

My daughter has trained at Starlight for 7 years, both in the recreational program and the team program. She now is on the Optional team and continues to absolutely love Starlight. She has seen several of her teammates over the years go to other gyms (and quite a few return to Starlight after unhappy experiences elsewhere) yet she has never desired to go anywhere else. She only wants to compete for the best gym and that’s where we are. While coaching styles vary and personality conflicts are inevitable in life, neither are an issue here. The gymnasts who are successful and happiest have two things in common; 1) commitment to working hard and listening to their coaches and 2) parents who leaving the coaching to the professionals. We love Starlight and can’t imagine training anywhere else!

Starlight Gymnastics is one of the best gyms in Florida. My child has attended since age six and has had a fulfilling experience. The program has taught her discipline, determination and focus. She currently competes at the Optional level and does very well at her competitions. I have watched many gymnasts coached at many other gyms around the country and the Starlight team far exceeds most of them in skill, strength and poise. Our gymnast have beautiful form, clean routines and often place first all around. This can only be credited to the excellent coaching staff and positive environment in which they practice. The coaches at Starlight are supportive, knowledgeable and are very careful with the girls' safety. I am often ask what I say to my child to make her do so well at competition and my answer is always the same...I let her coaches coach her and I stay out of her training. If you daughter wants to be a member of a winning team and you want your child to learn qualities that will help her succeed in life, Starlight Gymnastics is the only option in Northeast Florida.

I find it interesting that the derogatory remarks made against Starlight are made by anonymous posters...not willing to use their real names. My daughter has been at Starlight since the age of 4. She has received excellent training. She has won many state and regional titles...as have many of her teammates. This gym is an excellent program that follows a set curriculum...which is hard for non-educators to comprehend. Skills and routines, both for team and recreational gymnast are done in a systematic, comprehensive way. Girls are not permitted to do things that may injure themselves..."Just because you can, doesn't mean you should"...words to live by...I leave the coaching to the coaches...bottom line..an excellent gymnastics school with successful learning taking place.

Funny reviews... This program is professionally run, successful and my daughter has gotten great training there. I wouldn't choose another program in this city other than Starlight. Too bad the recent reviews-they have just become hateful to the gym and against other parents in the gym as well. This gym has been committed to training my daughter 100% to her ability. The most important thing is my child loves it there. Parents think they are coaches. We have girls that come from other programs in the city and say how much better it is and then there are the gym hoppers that are never happy. You get it all in this sport.
