I did personal training with Paul for a couple of months and would have definitely continued going to Synergee if I didn’t move out of Tallahassee. Paul was always polite and professional. He worked around my busy schedule. His training really helped relieve some lower back pain I was experiencing and gave me more confidence to work out on my own. I highly recommend Paul at Synergee Fitness. His ability to see how my body compensates for specific needs/weakness and his knowledge of how to correct it by fine-tuning my form is unbelievable. For several years prior, I had gone regularly to a group fitness class that I enjoyed but I never felt like I was getting the results that I wanted, I was always questioning if my form was good, and I was always wondering how to modify exercises to protect my knee after a surgery years ago. Since starting with Paul 7 months ago, we are already achieving my goals and some new ones that I didn’t know were possible: I feel stronger, I know that my form is better, my knee feels stable and protected and has better range of motion, and I have stopped going to the chiropractor for nagging upper back pain. Synergy Fitness is quite possibly the BEST place to get your body right. The trainers that work there are extremely knowledgeable and professional, they will work with you on your own personal goals and set up a work out routine tailored to you. The facility has top of the line equipment, is very clean and is in a fantastic location. In my personal experience working with Paul I’ve had absolutely zero complaints and been 100% satisfied. I'm in my late 40s, and I thought some aches, pains, and a reduced range of motion were simply a part of being middle-aged. I've been working with Synergee Fitness for just over two months and feel healthier than I have in years. I've lost almost 10 pounds and a few inches. But more importantly, I have improved my mobility. I am stronger and more flexible. I am lifting weights that I would have previously assumed were too heavy and able to do exercises that I would have seemed too hard. I never would have thought that I would be lifting a 50-pound kettle ball in a goblet squat. (Although to be transparent, until I came to Synergee Fitness, I didn’t know what a goblet squat was.)

Several months ago, a friend started raving about Synergee Fitness. I wasn't terribly optimistic because while I previously hadn’t worked with an individual personal trainer, I had seen trainers in gyms and taken classes with them. I knew I was not interested in some high-energy, crisp-high-fiving, adrenaline-junky, raging-testosterone trainer who was going to be counting my reps as I lifted and barking out empty encouragement like “Hustle for muscle” or “Sore today. Strong tomorrow.” My friend assured me this place was different. Still, it took me time to make my initial consultation appointment. The second I walked into the gym, my fears immediately evaporated.

Synergee Fitness is a professional gym which offers intensely personalized attention. The trainers are actively engaged throughout the workouts, giving pointers and corrections along with genuine encouragement. The people who train at Synergee Fitness are at various levels, and clearly, there is no judgement about someone's fitness level. What I appreciate most about Synergee Fitness is that the trainer specifically caters to my goals and needs. I always feel completely supported and listened to.

Paul is an absolute genius at creating a personalized plan that focuses on mobility, stability, and strength. But the real magic is his fine-tuning during the workouts. He constantly checks in making sure that there's no pain or discomfort. Paul will correct and modify my form to make sure that the exercise is being done optimally. He listens and watches as intensely. I have no clue how he can see all that he does and I’m in awe in his encyclopedic knowledge about the body. It is remarkable how Paul suggests changes—sometimes the most infinitesimal change of tilting the hips forward or turning in the elbows—and suddenly the exercise isolates the muscles better. I get the best workouts with Paul.

When I’m learning something new, I always have questions and crave reassurance. Paul always accommodates this. He patiently explains the why and how behind an exercise as he introduces it with a demonstration. As I try a new exercise, he makes adjustments. While it sometimes takes me time to do something, I never felt rushed or judged. Paul has infinite patience and will keep tweaking something until it's right. When I make progress, Paul genuinely shares in my joy and excitement.

The workout plans that Synergee Fitness provided for me to do at home are amazing. The descriptions and videos for each exercise make it possible for me to train on my own at home. I provided a list of equipment that I owned—a stability ball, dumbbells, and bands—and got a plan specifically designed for me. As I have progressed, the plan has been refined to continue to challenge me.

Two months ago, I didn’t know what a serratus was or the difference between the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus—or actually know that there were different muscles. Now I know and can engage those muscles. I’m not only getting stronger, but I’m also learning so much about how my body works.

I offer my complete and unqualified recommendation of Synergee Fitness.

Paul at Synergee Fitness is an outstanding trainer. Working with him has been an amazing experience- I give him my highest recommendation. I've already referred one friend to him who has also had a wonderful experience.

As a middle-aged guy with lots of old athletic injuries, I wasn't sure it was possible for me to pursue strength training at this point. I had worked with two other trainers over the past few years, but it hadn't gone well. Once it was severe elbow tendinitis that made working out (or even carrying groceries) miserable and led me to quit for a year. When I re-started, the next trainer overloaded the barbell on an inadvisable exercise and I hurt both rotator cuffs. These new injuries had to be added to my list of old injuries that already caused chronic pain. So, when I came to see Paul for an initial consultation, I was unsure whether I'd be able to pursue strength training at all.

Within two months of beginning with Paul, I had virtually no pain. My sleep improved markedly as did my flexibility and mobility. It's awesome to go to bed and not toss and turn due to aching hips and shoulders. This was way beyond what I thought was possible, and if this was all we accomplished, that would have been fantastic. But I've also been building muscle- without getting hurt, and while feeling better than I have in years.

Paul knows anatomy and functional strength training, and is a talented teacher/coach. With my other trainers, it sometimes felt like I was paying them to watch me work out. By comparison, Paul is a highly engaged and focused trainer, observing every movement (and micro-movement) closely. He gives great feedback and will help you improve incrementally while remaining reasonable, kind, and supportive. I thought I knew how to do most of the common weightlifting exercises with reasonably good form. It turned out I had a lot to learn, and Paul not only helps me improve my form, he also always explains the rationale and ramifications of making such corrections. He's creative and quick on his feet, e.g., he may integrate a new exercise on-the-spot to correct something that he sees from an anatomical/functional standpoint. I joke that he reminds me of the diagnostic genius Dr. Gregory House from the old TV show, "House MD." I've been surprised to find that discomfort manifesting in one joint or muscle can be a downstream effect of something else that I never would've thought of- and that Paul can guide me through a a few corrective exercises that quickly take the area from feeling "wonky" to feeling good- which then allows us to work out the muscle/joint without any pain or problem.

Paul is also a good listener and very collaborative. He wants to know your goals and help you achieve them. He's flexible and non-dogmatic. When you work with him, you will quickly learn to appreciate his highly individualized approach. This kind of dedication and work ethic is rare indeed in personal training. Finally, Paul is also a super nice guy, very funny, and a good motivator.

I saw Paul because I'm a complicated case with past injuries to deal with- but if you're young or lucky enough not to have these problems, and just want to get jacked, Paul would also be a great trainer for developing a jacked, balanced, and functional physique.

TL;DR: If you're looking for a great personal trainer, go see Paul.

I am so grateful to Paul and the Synergee team, and I really can’t say enough good things about them! I would highly recommend them to anyone for their fitness goals. And especially if you are dealing with chronic pain, training with Paul has been a lifesaver for me!

I joined Synergee Fitness because I wanted guidance for transitioning from physical therapy to feeling confident lifting weights. I was in a car accident a few years back and I had been dealing with chronic sciatica and shoulder pain ever since. During my initial consultation with Paul, I could immediately tell that he is super knowledgeable about biomechanics and knows how to work with people experiencing pain. He is very kind and patient which made me feel comfortable at Synergee. The studio is very clean, has plenty of equipment and I love the warm-up room!

Now that I have been working with him and Ariana (another great trainer at Synergee) for two months, I am very happy with my progress! My flare-ups have reduced considerably in such a short time and Paul has equipped me with mobility and foam rolling exercises that help alleviate/eliminate the pain if I do have a flare-up. He is always checking in to see how I am feeling during an exercise and will adapt movements for me whenever needed. I think that my posture has improved, and I feel so much stronger in the gym and in everyday activities.

Again, I am so grateful for all your help and for equipping me with exercises and techniques for pain-free movement! I am excited to continue training at Synergee and see where it takes me!

I’ve been working with Paul for a couple years since I retired. I have a number of neurological conditions, and from day-to-day Paul may be hit-up by me with unexpected issues. He quickly adjusts my workout to accommodate my needs that day. Over the years he has strengthened my core and worked on my balance to improve my gait. We work alone, though there may be another trainer and their client in another part of the gym. Great facility, great trainers. Paul and Mike have been great. Came in to do an assessment before signing up for training twice a week. Paul really knows his stuff. His specialty is corrective exercises and it shows. He was able to identify areas I needed help with mobility-wise right off the bat. As someone completely new to exercising in general, he and Mike have made sure to spend time getting down any fundamental movements and building off of that. They've even created exercise and mobility programs I can do at home for the days I don't come in. It's not an open gym, having that one-on-one interaction without the distraction or anxiety of a conventional gym has been beneficial. They are VERY, VERY patient and flexible with scheduling as well. I highly recommend Synergee Fitness. I've had a great experience every time.

I have had a back injury for almost 20 years that has left me feeling unstable, weak, sore and fragile. I met with Paul and explained my frustration and my limitations and he did not hesitate to tell me that he believed that he could improve my quality of life. Not only does he listen about my fears, deficits and challenges, but he adjusts my workout on a daily basis around what is safe and comfortable while still pushing me through to meet the next goal. I started training with Paul seven months ago. I’m very pleased with the progression of my training. We started with the goal of improving my squat form. We did that. Paul created a program with exercises that safely allow me to develop and improve my squat, hinge, press, and pull movements. I’ve also learned how to do corrective stretches and activation exercises required for each workout day.

The Synergee Fitness gym is brand new inside. It has new, modern workout machines and equipment, and are especially effective when guided by Paul’s expertise. Synergee really has all you need to do any routine.

I have been training with Paul at Your Preference for a little over six weeks. I expressed my goal was to tone up my body. We compared my measurements today to the day we met and i’m down 3% body fat (26% to 23%) and 7 pounds! The impact Paul has had on my life is immeasurable. I have had a back/hip injury for over ten years that began to peak after two pregnancies and now “mommy-ing” two toddlers. I came to Paul out of desperation because the pain affected my ability to function day to day. After seeing a few doctors who told me there was not much they could do, my expectations were low that Paul could help me. However, I was willing to try anything. Within a few sessions, my pain began decreasing, and my episodes came less and less often. One month later and I could successfully say I was pain-free! I worked with Joey Molnar for about two years, the only reason I left was for a job opportunity in another city. Joey was always on time and responsive, and worked with me to help me achieve my fitness goals. He was always attentive to my own unique needs, such as nagging injuries and imbalances that needed fixing. I really appreciate the focus on proper form and preventing injury. Thanks to Joey and the rest of the team there, I am much further along in my fitness goals, and feel more comfortable in a gym than ever. In addition to my actual workouts, I also appreciated how clear and open they were with my contract and billing. It never felt like they were trying to take advantage, and were always looking to give me the best deal possible. I have been a member of around 6 gyms, and had training with 3, and YPFS is without a doubt the best group I have worked with.

The trainers of your preference fitness are far and above the most committed group of people in the area when it comes to making you feel better and get in better shape I’ve been working with Joey for 3 months now and I can honestly say I’ve never felt better. When first starting Joey noticed some very worrying habits in my squat form and how much pain it was causing me. After 4 short weeks I can honestly say my body has never felt so his good. He has assessed every weakness and imbalance and devised a plan to correct all these mistakes and I honestly can feel every difference as I feel my body really being able to maximize every rep and really build the mind and muscle connection.

I've been training with Jacob Napoli from YP fitness solutions for 5 months and I have nothing but amazing things to say about the trainers as well as the gym itself! I came into the process knowing practically nothing about fitness and how to change my lifestyle and I was completely taken care of here. I am finally getting back to the gym.... COVID & what I thought was going to be a long time of suffering from upper back problems, my doctor released me to find an exercise program to help regain my upper back strength. "Your Preference Fitness Solutions" has me back on the road to recovery. A good friend introduced me to Paul Hassing, the owner. After meeting & talking with Paul, I signed up for his program. He assessed my needs & condition at the time and worked with me. He them assigned Joey, another trainer, to help me further deal with & overcome my constant pain and misery. Joey assessed my needs & set out with a plan to help me. Today, I am much stronger in my upper back and on a plan to further relieve my back pain & become stronger and more fit again. The whole team at Your Preference is awesome. Thank you Paul, Joey & Jacob for helping me get to where I am today.

I’ve been trainer since I’ve been 18yes old. And have had a lot of surgeries Bc of past jobs and etc.. I’ve been having chronic pain since I can remember and I sat with Paul Hassing the owner and team leader and he is a very trusting person right off the bat. I signed up for only a couple sessions but I noticed immediately I started to feel better by week 2. This is something I suggest everyone who is at a standstill in their fitness journey to really give it a try. It will only benefit you I guarantee it!
