I have been coming here for about 10 years, consistently excellent conditions every visit. A fun, yet challenging layout. Good value for your money, the only thing I would change is the driving range but it works. One of the better courses in the area.

Played Friday March 21st for the Kawanis celebrity tournament. This golf course has excellent greens people! Had me thinking I was the man with that Scotty Cameron in hand!😄 the most hospitable staff and volunteers you ever want to meet. Nice pro shop too, and the golf course is in pristine condition! Great course design with the water and the sand traps to keep you in check ! Go play, see for yourself. Being from Maryland I asked about 🐊 gators 😳 The Only two things they said were .. anywhere you see water , assume there is a gator and the reassuring advice was .... well, it's really too cold for em right now anyway 😬 So hit it long and straight and keep it in the short grass ⛳️ 🏌🏽‍♀️

We went there to have lunch and see what the atmosphere was. It's a cute small place , with a small bar . The sitting areas are divided into two spaces one with table cloths and cloth napkins I am assuming for the members and for "guests " silverware wrapped in paper napkins and wooden tables. As we walked in a nice center arrangement greeted us. No direction shown where the restaurant was , so we walked a bit visiting a bathroom which was very clean . Then we stumbled on to the gift shop and finally to the right a bar where a very nice old lady asked if we were there for lunch . We could pick any table we wanted . After that a young lady brought the menu . The selection given is limited to only a few choices. Choosing a salad and a burger with a chicken noodle soup as an appetizer we waited .....a bit . We were the only guests there at that point , the lunch rush was over , so the place was peaceful. As our food was brought I noticed that it came from a tiny kitchen . The salad was delish topped with cranberries and walnuts and vinaigrette . And the burger was typical the 10 fries that it came with were from a bag so nothing special. As we enjoyed our lunch soft music was playing in the background .
No one came to sell us a membership no one asked any leading questions. And it was perfect.
The one time a nice young man came up and asked if we needed our drinks refreshed. That was cute .
The waitress was attentive not overly so. Which was nice !
We enjoyed a nice quiet lunch .

This course was a little more on the expensive side. I rented clubs and they were very decent clubs. It was a challenging course without being too punishing. I like the conditions. Very well kept fairways and greens, overall great experience.

I don’t recommend this course to anyone that enjoys traditional play, and or, anyone that has issues riding a golf cart, especially due to medical issues. (Lower back issues, nerve damage, etc.) I tried to explain my situation and how I can only walk courses, due to a lower back injury; I was turned away, and told that walking the course isn’t an option. Furthermore, I was looked at and treated as if I was crazy for even requesting to walk the course. Very uncomfortable. I won’t try to return.

Had a tee time at 2:30pm in June and appeared to be a slow day. Guy checking us in at the pro shop commented that I did not have a collared dress. I was wearing an appropriate Gap Golf Dress & was fit to a general “golf class” standard. I will abide by the rules but every other woman I saw playing did not have a collared shirt/dress. I understand if I did not come in an appropriate manner that commenting on my attire would make sense. I respect country clubs rules but as run down and out dated the club is, I don’t see my dress have a collar or not being an issue. Will not be returning with my non-collared Golf Dress.

Tried going to breakfast there, but only one server and would have had to wait an hour plus...we left although they were not crowded/busy. They need to either hire more personnel or make it a buffet. The situation they have there now is not acceptable. Server was understandably stressed, but not an excuse to be rude to customers.

Honestly hate writing this review. Always had good service and the course has been in great shape over the years. Rented a set of clubs since I am from Canada and when I returned the clubs to the pro shop, which had a different employee. He accused me of loosing the putter head cover. I said check your cameras because the set didn’t come with a cover on the putter. Wouldn’t take my word for it or check the cameras. Will never be playing here again.

We are visiting in the area and found a great tee time deal on their website. The course and greens were in excellent condition and proved to be a fun challenge while maintaining the ability to score well. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. Cart service was on point and starter was friendly and informative. Hope we can get back for one more round before heading home.

This place has the worst staff I have ever experienced. We are paying money to play golf not be treated like we are a nuisance for being there. Last night Hannah absolutely made my daughter's sweet 16 birthday party amazing. Hannah was an absolute gem last night making my daughters vision come to life. I unfortunately didn't get the 3 other ladies names but they were great as well. Never did we have to wait on beverages to be filled. They were amazing.

Very challenging from 6400 yds. Awesome layout. This is a shot-makers course. Five stars all around except for conditions which I gave four stars only because the greens were a touch picky. They were fast just like I like them and ran reasonably true, but losers have to fix their ball marks, and they were a little bit picky as mentioned above, but it did not diminish from the experience. This is a great course all around. I must play it again now that I know where to play my shots. Short par fives are not easy because of very small landing areas. Not a bad lie anywhere and the carts were top notch. I had a tee time at 3:45 behind the course's Nine and dine and we still got around in three and a half hours. I'll definitely be back.

Very disappointed in every aspect of our visit. The room we were seated in was not well lit to the point one could barely see ones food . Even one of the waiters commented about how dark it was. About the food.....several people at our party were very unhappy with the quality, preparation, and temperature of their dish, a portion of my fish was missing and cold. No one in our party were offered coffee.
Over all a very disappointing evening. Would not recommend this establishment to anyone.
The review was submitted towards the restaurant not the golf course.

Played here yesterday in our league and exactly 2 days after Hurricane Ian hit Central Florida. Wasn’t expecting much in the way of the course being in good shape and figured some would be Catt path only. Boy was I wrong. This was the best shape I have ever seen this course and I have played it many many times. The tee boxes were great. The fairways were in top notch shape. The greens were incredible and rolled very true! Excellent shape all the way around the whole course. Don’t know what they are doing but keep up the good work guys cause it is tremendous.

My husband just got home from what should have been a nice morning playing golf. He typically goes by himself, first tee off of the morning and gets there early to hit range balls and practice so he can have a good round. This morning he was met by rude staff members and he was going to be forced to ride with someone he didn’t know because he was a single. We understand this is a busy weekend being the 4th, as a club you should be able to keep your reservations in check so you aren’t cramming as many golfers on the course as you possible can, it effects the game of everyone when you do that. Why pay any amount to feel rushed when you are supposed to be relaxing and playing a game you love ? Just last night we were talking about becoming members since we live in Mount Dora and it would be great. Now my husband would rather not, that’s sad. He plays multiple rounds every weekend and it would have been nice.

Played the course for the first time yesterday. It was in good shape. The greens were in good shape and rolled well. The tee boxes were decent although on the par 3s they were a little worse than the par 4s and par 5s. The fairways were lush and well maintained. The sand in the bunkers looked a little heavy although I never had play from it. Overall I would give it a solid 8 out of 10 and I am looking forward to playing again.

Played today 12/8/21. This is truly a tough course. Played the back tees and there are some very demanding driving holes, most of the difficult holes were into the wind. Its 6500 yds from the back tees and as a 5 handicap it was pretty much all I could handle. Greens were moderately fast and in good shape. The layout is very memorable. Very few straight boring holes. A lot of water but it only comes into play if you really spray it. Very friendly staff , especially Adam the starter. Altogether it was very challenging from the back tees and I would definitely play it again.

Great day! The greens were good despite the surplus of rain we have received in the last few days. I invited my girlfriend to play golf here this weekend and we had the best time. She is a beginner but is enjoying playing. From the moment we arrived we met Al at the first hole who immediately was gracious, patient and courteous. He used to be a golf pro and gave my girlfriend a fantastic tip of using a tennis ball instead of a golf ball while playing. Unfortuneatly we did not have one but we will use one next time. Half way through the game we met Al again who asked us how we were doing. My girlfriend expressed she wasn't doing well and was frustrated. Instead of putting us off and going about his day he got out of his cart and gave my girlfriend a short lesson which immediately improved her game. 4 holes later he drove by again with a coworker and asked how she was doing and she confidently asked him to watch how his tips have improved her game he gave her more pointers which got her even more excited. Overall fantastic experience just because of Al. If you are needing pointers go to him! We will be back and we would like to do a round of golf with Al.

I grew up in Mount Dora and have been playing golf at this course since I was a little kid. They have changed the afternoon rate to the same price for 9 holes as 18 holes. I'm sure this is good for their bottom line but this is no good for afternoon golfers who are trying to teach their children the game. Mount Dora golf association will be getting my business moving forward.

Im Giving it a 3 rating, essentially because they had cold water on the course and its in decent condition. A few of the greens are under repair but are marked so it is what is is. Good price also.

We have been to this local course several times and honestly find its going downhill, partly because once again its ruined by a few people who just have no common courtesy toward others or are simply too arrogant to care.

We had a member drive down our fairway (3 times) to his castle with his MUSIC blaring in his "custom cart". he could have cared less about us as we stood and had to wait for him to pass.

This course is apparently known for this type of conduct from its members from what im told, its basically condoned and in the last couple of years its gotten worse.

Another head scratcher is the fact that the clubhouse wont allow anyone to enjoy happy hour unless you're a member? What, seriously?

Thats some poor management if they think thats what brings customers back.
The staff are a bit stuffy and tend to make you feel that they are doing you a favor.

This is not meant to be a rant, its just feedback that this place needs to address if they plan to stay around..

I checked on line for the price for 18 holes on Sunday, priced $35. When we arrived at the course they changed the price to $47. I asked why the guy said you must make tee time on line to get the $35 rate. There is not anything on line to tell you that. Our foursome will not return to mount dora county club.

I had the pleasure of living here for a year. It is a nice, relaxing neighborhood and i really enjoyed it. For the most part it is safe but they do have some problems with cars being broken into. My company of one night left their doors to their car unlocked and someone stole some personal items out of it.
