This gym is actually the best in the area. It’s always clean and well kept… Viviana makes sure to always clean the machines and rerack all the weights for us members i greatly appreciate how organized and friendly the gym is, it has an amazing atmosphere and i always have a 10/10 workout here. Today i didn’t understand how a machine worked and Viviana helped me with it you normally don’t have people helping out at gyms and she is genuinely the best. Viviana at the front desk is amazing! She’s so welcoming in the afternoons when i come in for my workout, you will always see her cleaning down machines and organizing weights where they go or cleaning mirrors, she definitely makes sure the gym is well kept and cleaned thoroughly, I really appreciate this about the gym since other gyms smell like sweat, Sign up was so easy and I see people in the reviews complaining about cancelation but when you sign up they mention how it works. I would recommend this gym to everyone because of how clean and ITS 24 hours. Thank you Viviana for making this the best gym in Apollo.

I’ve been coming to the gym regularly, and every time I walk in, Ossian sets the tone for a great workout. He’s always friendly, professional, and welcoming — greeting everyone with a genuine smile and positive attitude. Whether it’s helping with check-ins, answering questions, or making sure everything runs smoothly, he goes above and beyond to make members feel valued. It’s clear he takes pride in his job and truly cares about the people who come in.

I tried to cancel my gym membership, but they charged me an extra $25 just for the cancellation, plus taxes, and they even charged me for the full month. If there’s no contract, you should be able to cancel your membership at any time without extra fees. Very disappointed with the way they handle cancellations.

The people here are great. The gym itself is sometimes in disrepair, but people like Norilda really work hard to keep it clean and friendly. She always greets you with a friendly smile and is constantly in the lookout for out of place equipment or spills to clean up. One day I was working out next to another guy who spilt half his water bottle on the floor, and just left it there. After a few minutes, Norilda walked by (already busy refilling the paper towel dispensers) and stopped what she was doing to find a mop and clean up the guys mess (who had already left).

I signed up for this gym for , 19.99$ , went to this gym 1 time and was called a racial slur . I never returned . A woman called my phone demanding payment of 80$ , I told her 80$ I signed a paper saying it was 19.99 a month . And further more I want to cancel, she laughed on the phone and said you have to come into the gym to cancel. And I told her I’m telling you over the phone . I’m not going in that gym period ! I was at the gym this evening with my Husband and the front desk person, Viviana, was amazing! The gym is normally clean but with the your normal sweaty gym smell. I work out with my eyes closed but while walking on the treadmill I smelled the freshest and cleanest smell . This young lady was cleaning all the treadmills, bicycles, sitting ledges, etc. As a member of more than two years, this was the best workout experience to date. I do hope she will stay and keep up the great work as it has not gone as unnoticed.

Visiting from New York City and having worked out for about 40 years, I had to find a good gym and this place was great. They had a great a variety of machines, dumbbells of all weights, great staff and a great atmosphere. The membership rates are superbly competitive as well. Norilda helped me check in as a guest and she was so helpful and friendly. Thank you and I plan on becoming a full-time member when I move to the Tampa area!

I am highly frustrated with how hard it has been to cancel my membership. I really enjoyed the gym but I moved out of the area and needed to cancel my membership. They will not allow you to do that online, but when I went to the property physically, I was told I could not cancel because they need 30 day notice and all they could do was freeze my membership and I would only be charged five dollars for every month frozen. Then, the next month I was still charged full price and when I asked about it, I was told that it takes 30 days for the freeze discount to go into effect. This runaround is absolutely unacceptable and quite predatory towards their customers. Perfect it really put a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be giving them my business ever again.

The Worx at Apollo Beach is a nice gym. Expansive choice of equipment to satisfy any workout routine. 24 hour access allows flexibility to maintain a daily routine. Most notable is the customer support of Norilda! She absolutely epitomizes what Customer Support should be. She greats everyone with a smile and "have a good day" when you leave. She's constantly surveying the area to ensure cleanliness, organization and operation. She doesn't just sit behind the counter fixed to her phone like so many other staff members. Have been charged constantly even after trying to cancel my account.
They make it a very hard process to do so, there’s literally no reason to lock people into a complicated process to cancel other than greed.

Just go look at previous replies and you’ll see how unprofessionally ran the location is, just go elsewhere and save yourself the hassle.

EDIT:
Response says they have no notes of cancellation attempts but when you try to call, they will tell you to come in and refuse to go any further.
Never had this issue at any gym establishment I have ever used, save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

I love this gym! I’ve been going here for about a year now and have very much enjoyed it. The front desk staff is super friendly and helpful, and the personal trainers are very knowledgeable and professional! I’m a member of several other gyms in the area, and this is by far the best as far as traffic, and staff. I never have to wait here for a machine or a rack unlike at some of the other gyms. The only thing I would recommend is a sauna :)

Pros:
-Gym is open 24 hours

Cons:
-The "cheap monthly fee" & "no long term commitment" that they advertise is HIGHLY deceptive.

Signing up? They charge you for this month, they also charge you for 'last month', you pay $15 for a little plastic keychain barcode, and they charge a $53 dollar annual fee.

Want to cancel? You have to cancel in person or pay for postage and mail a letter to them. They charge you a $25 'cancellation fee', and they charge you for another full billing cycle EVEN THOUGH YOU PAY FOR THE LAST MONTH WHEN YOU SIGN UP.

-The gym has one male and one female individual bathroom, which is not ideal for a gym that has 30+ people in it at a certain time. You will frequently find yourself waiting for a chance to use the bathroom.

-Equipment is very old and used. Cable machines always have broken cables and are out of order. Many of the cardio machines are often out of order. It's clear that they don't spend any of the many fees they charge you on the gym itself.

-They have 7-8 televisions spread across the gym. However 75% of them are only play 24/7 advertisements.

-Gym has very poor air circulation, which is especially bad during the summer. There is a handful of fans, but they do practically nothing to cool the gym down.

Overall really disappointing experience. I wanted to support a local gym instead of a chain gym, but there are so many things wrong with how this gym is owned and operated. I struggle to think of anything positive to say.

EDIT: In response to the reply from the owner.... it's really telling how all of the owner's replies to the poor reviews come across extremely snarky. Just because someone was a member for 8 months, doesn't mean the experience was good. All of the points in my review are valid, and echoed in the many other reviews that share similar negative experiences.

I would not recommend this gym. After canceling my membership, my account was charged twice. As someone who travels frequently for work, it was already a huge inconvenience to have to cancel in person, especially since there was no one on duty during my available times. I made five visits before finally giving up on the equipment I joined for, which was never in working order.

I completed the cancellation process and even paid the cancellation fee—something I shouldn’t have been charged since they didn’t hold up their end of the agreement. Despite this, they continued to charge me after cancellation. This is unacceptable and feels like a complete disregard for their members.

They should really refund me my money and stop charging people after they cancel. This kind of service is completely unprofessional. Avoid this gym at all costs.

Had a terrible experience, i liked it at first the staff is friendly but when I cancelled my membership I asked them if I’d get charged again and they said no but still ended up charging me 74.17$ and no refused to refund me no matter what, made up the craziest of stories of why they had to charged me. Basically blamed it on the system. Be careful when signing up, they will more than likely charge you extra and you can never get a refund from them.

Also if you workout hard, you might suffocate and pass out due to the poor air flow and the heat inside the gym, their Acs were not working at all main reason why I cancelled.

This gym is ok, it had a lot of regulars, which is nice. I've had a membership for over two years and wanted to see if they ever offer promotions, classes, or price reduction. Anything for being a loyal member, especially when a new gym is getting ready to open. Apparently nothing, and that $0 open enrollment, yeah you pretty much pay that when you cancel! They will charge you $25 to cancel plus one or two months of your regular gym membership AFTER you cancel!!

It gets old asking the staff to refill the paper towel machines (bc they are sitting at the desk on their phone) or wait for someone to get off their phone so you can use the ONLY machine they have. It is VERY hard to ever find the 2.5 weights. I like to add them when I just need that bit more when I'm trying to push myself for an increase. The price is no longer practical.

I was not happy at all when I asked the staff about canceling my membership. I am not in a contract. Two people were at the desk. One handed me a form and asked me to ONLY sign and put a reason why I'm leaving and to leave the rest of the form blank. I asked for my agreement number to fill it in, I asked what my last day would be, she said to leave it all blank as she rolled her eyes at me. I informed her I wanted to fill out the whole form to ensure that my policy would be canceled. Like filling out the date I submitted my request, the agreement number, and the last day of club usage. I informed her that I would like to fill out the full form so I can ensure my membership gets canceled (the price is just no longer practical). She then told me I "have to" pay for the next TWO months. My bill cycle isn't even until the 15th, and they are making me pay until 12/15/24, including a $25 cancelation fee. I also asked if I could return the key tag to them after 12/15/24 (the last day I can use the gym) because the question was asked on the form asking. "Was key tag returned: Yes/No

I'm not sure if that's why they are charging me $25 for not returning the tag??? She told me I keep the tag. Then why even have that question on the form??? I'm pretty sure that's how they get away with charging you an extra $25.

The cost for the membership is $21.49 a month. Not sure why I'd continue to pay this when a new gym is opening, practically across the street. It will cost me less for the new gym and they will have brand new equipment ( I won't have to wait to use the ONLY machine in the gym while someone is usually on their phone) with classes and they provide extras. I really don't understand why they wouldn't try to keep the loyal members.

New to the area. The gym was very close so I decided to get a month membership. Upon signing up I paid cash. The guy behind the counter then tells me, after paying and signing up that he didn’t have change for the $100 bill I gave him. They would credit my account and I could get it the next day. Well I go back and still, I’m told he can’t give me my change. That they’ll call me. Some people there are passive aggressive and rude as well. If you plan on training seriously I’d recommend finding somewhere else in the area. I literally went to this gym for two days and I’ve never in my life left a Google review until now. Worst gym atmosphere I’ve ever experienced.

I recently joined the gym and was warmly welcomed by Dylan. He gave me a thorough tour of the facility, explaining how to use my membership and detailing the various sections, from free weights to machines, as well as the cardio area, which is one of my favorites. Having visited many gyms, I can confidently say that Dylan stands out as an excellent employee—polite, knowledgeable, and professional. I had an amazing experience and look forward to returning.

Love this gym but their employees will lie to you and play bait and switch tactics.

Wife and I signed up for a 6 month prepaid plan. Hand on bible swear was told that the annual fee would not be charged again if we renewed for a second 6 month term. I saw the annual fee and had even asked Dillion, the sales person, directly on this. Word for word “I see there is an annual fee on the 6 month option. If we renew would we pay this again” to which Dillon said “I am not sure but if they do try to charge you again for it, I can manually remove the fee since it would not make sense”.

If we had been told the truth that the annual fee would be charged twice, we would have signed up for the 1 year prepaid plan with no doubt.

Instead, we were told they would not honor the statement of the employee, the annual fee would have to be paid again and their management team would not respond to our emails.

Very sad all around. Really wanted to renew for a year but cannot look past feeling scammed here. At minimum bait and switched. Please avoid this gym until there is new management/ownership.

Joined the Apollo Beach location prior to its opening which it appears to be perhaps 5-6 years ago. The owner Jim was outside at a table offering pre-opening membership deals which by his word of mouth included low monthly fees, no contract, and no cancellation fees. The "Get in Now before the Gym is built and Opened" offer which I fell for.

Fast forward too July 31, 2024 where I call Apollo Beach location to cancel as I am moving from the area and am told its a quick process and I need to be in-person. I drive there and Cynthia is at the front desk. I inform her I am moving and I needed to cancel. She rudely hits me with the "You need to give 30 days notice and pay the cancellation fee of $25.00". I stated Im not paying anything as that was not informed to me by Jim when I signed up for the Pre-opening offer. Also told her I have not used the gym which she can see from my scan card and I'm not paying anything more. Her reply was rude and condescending as she stated; "If you didn't use the gym then why didn't you cancel sooner"

I asked for manager or owner and Cynthia told me manager was on vacation and owner was out of country. Asked to see my contact that I signed and she refused to show it too me. She finally called Jim and I was already heated from my encounter with her and speaking with Jim was not worth the time as he too was condescending and has no people / customer service skills. I tried to inform him that I as told no cancellation fees when I joined like 4 years ago prior to opening and his only response was to correct me and tell me it was 6 years ago. When I stated I didn't utilize the gym and still paid my monthly dues; his reply was , "That is 90% of the people here."

Cynthia got the phone back to speak with Jim since he was rude and condescending to me and I began to record my interaction with cynthia on my phone as I requested to see a copy of my signed contract and she told Jim I was recording and the response from them was to call 911 if I didnt leave. I had my son with me; so I proceeded to leave as they refused to cancel my membership.

Fortunately I was able to go to the Sun City location and work with Hendry who talked to his manager, showed me my contract and assisted me with cancelling my membership. Very polite and professional. I paid the cancellation fee and 30 days dues with Hendry as he was helpful and I did not want to make anything difficult for him and I just want to be done with this gym.

To the owners: "Jim and Cynthia need some serious customer service training as they are both high on themselves and quite unprofessional."

To others; I'd avoid The worx as the customer service is off and there is no reasoning with the likes of Cynthia and Jim. Obviously he needed the $25.00 plus another month of membership fees more than I do. I'm cancelling membership after 6 years of on-time payments (Auto debited) because I am moving out of the area and the GREED of the owner cost me another $43.01 to walk away from a membership I paid into for 6 years. Something as simple as a gym cancellation turned into leave now or I'm calling 911 over $43.01. How pathetic. A proper owner / business person would have made an exception after 6 years of timely payments and based on what was told to me for the pre-opening special at time of joining; but not Jim. I hope him and his family make good use of the $43.01 I had to pay as its not as if I could have used the money towards my moving expenses. The Greed of people and businesses in this country is so Sad. Also, when you join you are charged the initial fees plus the last months dues; yet upon cancellation they are collecting the last months dues AGAIN - thievery - Noone cares about people anymore....just money

Close to home, but most expensive "no cancelation fees and no contracts" I ever seen. There is Chrunch in Roverview and one coming soon in Apollo. Besides false advertising and cancelation ripoff it would be ok gym. But for those reasons I chose to drive further, so I don't have to read fine print that don't match advertising.

Just canceled my membership today! Wasn't going so I wasting money. Treadmills are definitely worn out like it's caving in. Grip on several machines falling apart so I slowly stopped going. Went to cancel membership today and she told me I'm getting charged for another 30 days and a $25 cancellation fee. 😂😂WTF really. You just got my $50 annual fee and still greedy taking more!!! This owner is a scammer! I have moved 2.5 hrs away, and canceled my memberships. They keep charging my account. I have called walked in and keep getting charged. I made multiple calls and told the "owner" will call me. 3 months later still being charged. Called again as i was charged again and the girl said she will have the owner call me once again(last 3 months he has been calling me and never does). Fianlly the Owner calls me back and tells me off! Telling me nope i wont cancel your account because i insulted him calling him a scammer. I told him i cant drive 2.5 hrs AGAIN!!! TO CANCEL MY ACCT. HE SAID OH WELL THEN ILL KEEP CHARGING YOUR ACCOUNT AND HUNG UP ON ME! scammer!!!! I have to call my bank now and dispute all his charges. Watch out! Scammer!!! Terrible customer service. All the usual weight and cardio equipment in a new facility right in the heart of sun city center. $15 per month for a single membership and only $19 for two people which is great value for money. It's clean and well maintained however apart from small rest rooms there are no locker rooms and only a small shelving unit to store gym bags that isn't secure. It's open 24hrs so you can avoid the usual busy periods (5pm- 7pm) but for the price it's well worth it.
