I am so glad that we found USK Karate and their other programs such as their Best Transported After School Program and their Summer Camp.

My friends son is in this academy and they told me about it for years, I wanted to get my son into their Karate program so badly but I couldn't work it out with my work schedule. I had seen SUCH a transformation in their son and his behavior, his moods and his overall spirit. I was sad that I was not able to work it out for my child, who has a heavy case of ADHD and NEEDED this type of environment.

However, once my son started Kindergarten and was able to participate in the Best Transported After Care Program, the Karate classes became accessible to us. When they pick him up from school, he goes to the facility for after care... but when it's time for class, they send him to get into uniform and walk him to the mat where classes are held. Of course I WANT to be there for all of his classes, but it's just not possible for a full time working Mom. This allowed my son to participate even when I can't be there, but I go as much as I can of course.

We became a part of such a BIGGER thing here with USK. Apart from health, discipline, respect, courage, confidence and communication - we have gained so much. They host Lunch 'N Chats where you get to meet up and discuss healthy habits, growth, parenting skills, etc. They have holiday events, graduations, competitions, etc. It's like a family. What they are doing here is GREAT.

We are so happy we found USK. My son has grown so much, a complete transformation. I have also grown since we became a part of the USK family. The support from the staff is so valuable and these people know what they are doing. They have had my back in times that I didn't know how to handle school issues or behavior issues, etc. They go above any beyond for these kiddos and families.

I am also so happy that they have ALL of the programs in one place. After care, Karate, Spring Break Camp, Summer Camp, Winter Break Camp, and One Day Camps for when the school is closed. My son is the type that builds relationships deeply and doesn't do well with change. We trust in this team of excellent leaders and loving individuals to be here for EVERY moment that we need child care. In fact, they even have PARENT'S NIGHT OUT once every month for a majority of the year. You can't beat it.

(A little secret, sounds so good that you'd think it's too expensive? It's not. I price shopped before I learned they had after care and let me tell you, excellent value for your buck and very competative rates!)

My children have been attending the aftercare program at USK karate for about a month. After hearing that their school aftercare program was full, we found that USK picked from their school. It was honestly the best decision we could have made. USK runs an incredibly structured, organized, and professional after care program. The facility is very clean and the staff truly cares about children. They have made an extra effort to get to know both my children and help them transition to their program. This place is wonderful; we have been regulars for two years now. We started with aftercare enrollment after finding another facility wasn’t prepared to handle our son’s excessive energy after being pent up at school all day. This aftercare provides time for homework, but also offers them valuable mat time to get their energy out and learn valuable life lessons (centered around six core values). We transitioned to summer camp in our first year. Camp usually offers discounts for extended care if you commit to aftercare for the upcoming school year. They have weekly field trips to some very fun spots, including daily trips to a local park to expend their energy. Basic karate (Tang Soo Do) is incorporated into both aftercare and camp, and my son loved the introduction. After a year of hearing our son begging to join Tang Soo Do classes, we finally consented. NO REGRETS! He has been in classes for just slightly under a year and has shown such growth in confidence, respect, strength and self control. The prices are slightly steeper than some other camps or afterschool programs, but you truly get what you pay for here at USK. The staff is caring - it’s truly a homegrown family, with much of the staff being former USK members themselves. If you’re thinking about USK, don’t overthink it; I guarantee you and your child will love this place. Oh, and in case you want a night away from the kids, USK also hosts PNOs (parents night out) for a very reasonable price (kids enjoy a movie, pizza and fun games while you have some “you” time).

I cannot express how grateful I am for the USK Karate summer camp! Prior to finding this camp, my child faced some challenges with bullying and was not thriving at another camp. Sunshine and Smiles Summer Camp had such a wonderful time visiting USK Karate for a field trip! Our campers had an amazing experience full of energy, excitement, and fun. Usk Coral Springs has been nothing but an AMAZING experience for my son. He’s very high energy and takes a little to adjust but they have been so calm and good with him and he loves going there everyday. Without a doubt, this is the best aftercare and camp program I have ever experienced. I have experienced many. I have a 10-year-old and twin 8-year-olds, So I have been trying different programs for a long time. The very first impression from the staff had me from the beginning. Everyone is highly professional, knowledgeable, and very welcoming to children and parents. I love the balance of structure and fun the programs provide. Every single day I have a clear line of communication with the staff. They are always able to answer my questions and assist me in a timely manner. Most importantly my kids are learning, they are having fun in a safe environment and they come home happy and wanting to go back.
What I would like to compliment them most on is the success my 8 year old Ryan has had in their aftercare program as well as their camps. Ryan is on the Autism Spectrum and struggles with behaviors at times. It has been difficult to find a program for him. He has been at USK for quite some time and he THRIVES here. The staff is understanding of his struggles, they adapt to his needs as best they can. They communicate with me often to help find solutions and better ways to work with Ryan. Master Alvas has even taken the time to speak with Ryan's BCBA to better understand what works well with Ryan and has implemented those strategies successfully.
I am grateful to have found this program for my children, from the bottom of my heart. I would recommend them to anyone!

Hands down the best karate experience ever! All of the teachers there are absolutely the best. My daughters (8,5) struggled with confidence before starting classes here and now they are these amazing out spoken girls and are not afraid of anything! I wish I could give them 0 stars, a few days ago I took my 4-year-old son to his first class, he was happy a little nervous, after 15 minutes the teacher in charge caught his attention hitting him gently with a foam on the head that made him very nervous and immediately began to cry, I understand that they use some ways for the discipline of children, but I consider that he was not at all professional since it was the first and last time in that place that he was nervous, he felt embarrassed in front of everyone, today I take my son to another school and he is no longer happy and he is afraid for his experience with the teacher in this place.

I made the best decision in my life concerning my daughter, Taya, to enroll her in USK karate. Our son has struggled with some behavior challenges, and we tried several solutions. Can not say enough great things about USK. I have a special needs child who has been doing great this past year. I truly trust all the staff there and am very pleased with my son’s growth. He has learned independence, respect and how to follow instructions. I’m especially pleased with how no matter what any child’s challenges are they make it a point to be patient and never give up, as well as teach leadership. She’s very disciplined, confident, respectful, she likes to be active and always eager to learn. My boy who is now 5 started at 4 and loves the classes. He learns how to control his emotions, follow directions, listening, being focused and respectful. The masters at USK do a phenomenal job at keeping all the kids on their toes not only during classes but also on the kids behavior at home and school. Extremely unethical! Be careful with the contract. Makes you pay for summer even if you don’t need it. I tried calling several times and they “can’t speak on the phone”. Master Ellie will only use text messages. I made a review and they said if I don’t delete the review they would remove my son from the program. They gave me 12 hours to delete it and given I was traveling I took more than that. They called me 7 times in the meantime. They only have good ratings because they make people delete the bad ones. Be careful leaving your son with unethical people! Worst experience possible.

A wonderful community for our kids to learn more than just martial arts. The instructors and staff know every child by sight, and I’m sure the parents too. We’ve been members since 2018, and without fail, it’s the easiest payment I make each month. My son has learned so much from them, and even on his hardest days where he doesn’t want to go, he has a great time during class. If you want to instill confidence and a sense of self worth in your child then look no further! USK has been an absolute blessing for us and our three boys. Originally, we signed up for the two week trial but halfway into the first lesson we knew this was the place for us and signed up immediately. The level of professionalism and care put in to each class astounding; I honestly don’t know where they find the energy for the kids every day.

We had our sons birthday party here last week. We choose to have our party here because it is private and the kids get to play all together the whole time. What a great time everybody had! The kids played and played. The set up was perfect and there was more than enough of room for parents and kids. I can't say enough of great things about USK Karate and their staff. Our son started his training at USK at age 4! I reluctantly gave into my husband’s suggestions and signed him up not knowing the true gift I was giving my boy.
Noah has been training for almost 4 years, he Is becoming more confident at being himself. His strength and endurance is quite impressive. We found a community of leaders that love and guide our boy.
You will not be disappointed! This is an amazing school with an amazing leadership team.

""I only went to a birthday party and organizers need to learn a couple of things: kids should not be "picking" who is going to be in their team. There is always those 3 or 2 last ones that are not be chosen until the very end. There are MANY ways to select teams randomly without making some kids feeling like they are not included. Piñata rules: you start with the b/day kid, then the smallest kids and walk your way based on height. In this party only 3 kids got to hit the piñata because it was picked randomly and the 2nd and 3rd were big kids who of course broke it. The other 15ish kids just watch! Seriously?!? Kids need more than just 15 min to eat pizza. In general, I could tell the place was trying to spend the least amount of their money in this b/day party.

My son has been attending USK Karate since he was 3. We were looking for an activity that would focus on his gross motor skills and help burn off some 3-year-old boy energy. USK Karate is that and so much more. As a Kindergarten teacher and mom, I couldn’t be more pleased with the way the teachers interact with all the students. Respect and discipline are taught through consistency and routine and delivered in a kind, fair manner. The classes are age-appropriate and the teachers go out of their way to make personal connections with each child. I highly recommended USK Karate!

When you think about Martial arts, you think about self defense, figthing and being tough, but USK Masters amazes me the way they train our kids!!!!

This review is 2 years in the making. My son started USK the week he turned 5. At that time, we were concerned with some aspects of his personality. He was shy, cried easily, was not assertive and more of a follower than a leader. We knew he had some self-confidence issues and it was showing through in his daily behaviors. We were new to the Coral Springs area, so I looked online and found USK, read so many positive reviews and decided to give it a try. We did the 6 week trial program to start. We thought this would be a good amount of time to see if it was a good fit for our son. At first, we couldn't get Ethan onto the mat. The instructors at USK, were patient with him knew exactly how to gain his trust, they asked for his help, and he became a helper, after they earned his trust, he started participating more and more, and every week got better. After six weeks, there was a significant improvement in Ethan's behavior, and there was actually no way I wasn't signing up to be a part of the USK Family! The first belt graduation came along, and we were very excited to move past that white belt, but Ethan was still scared and cried, and ran off the floor over to me, and did not participate in the first graduation. He watched from the bleachers. Slow and steady and consistent work with the amazing, and caring instructors at USK has helped my son with his confidence. Fast forward to his graduation belt ceremony exactly TWO years later, and my son was picked as the leader of his class to lead the ceremony. He is now the senior belt level of his class, and leads the opening of the class all by himself. The amount of courage and confidence he has built from age 5 to 7 is incredible and never would have occurred without the help and assistance of the USK leadership team. My son is a better little human in a short amount of time all from his experience at USK. It is the best investment in the cultivation of his personality that we could have ever done. #bestdecisionever

My experience with USK so far has been an absolute BLAST. I have learned so many things such as control of power, humility, self-control and so much more! My daughter is in 1st grade and therefore had only had one previous camp experience. The camp she previously attended was great but also had a ton of kids and teenagers as counselors which isn't a terrible thing, but still 'kids' watching kids... I had inquired about summer camp last year after hearing so many wonderful things about USK and was so sad to hear that it was already full! Once this year rolled around I jumped on the opportunity to have a chance for my daughter to be able to experience this place. So many things about this place make it absolutely wonderful! You definitely get quality care. There isn't a thousand kids and it's operated by some of the most wonderful individuals ever. They're all very structured, discipline, nice and most importantly trust worthy. It has such a family feel that when you walk out to go to work or wherever you don't even think twice about whether or not you're kid will be well taken care of, because you absolutely KNOW that your child is going to come home having had the best day ever! They would have learned something karate related, acquired a new skill, played a new game, made a new friend or just had a great time. I would give this place 10 stars because it's not everyday you find a place that you know will take care of your kid as well as you would. I would highly recommend this place. My son has been attending classes for just over six months. We were interested in finding an activity that balanced physical activity and discipline. What we got was much more. He is learning team work; respect for his friends and adults; and building confidence in his physical abilities - all above and beyond what we originally expected when he was enrolled. The instructors absolutely love their jobs which is transferred to the care for the kids - each child is attended to and each one's needs are meet specifically according to their personalities and even more so to their moods on any given day - they push the kids to do their best while keeping the atmosphere welcoming and friendly. I am amazed at their ability to hone in on the needs of each child, truly as if they were their own. Beware! You will love this place!

We got into Karate for our little one, soon later the whole family started doing (14 yr daughter, 5 yr daughter, husband and wife).

We got a little concerned about being white belts at our 40s.. but we are having fun.

For example: I am a computer's software engineer, and this activity is not only putting me away from my iPhone and do something away from the computer, it's actually helping me putting my body and my mind into a better shape.

This is a family place. You get to know nice people in a very nice environment.

I can see the instructors have a nice work environment, and that translates on how they approach kids and adult students.

I'm sincerely writing this for the good results I'm seeing on my family.

It all started 8 years ago when my son Carlos started training with USK. We were looking for a school where my son could do some physical activity and at the same time learn discipline, respect, endurance and some other values to become the good young man he is today and I honestly can say part of it it is the fruit of what he learned at USK Karate. He left the school for some time but he came back to his family and now he is working there and is training again.

Last year my youngest son Tomas started also at the school and I can see he is looking to be like his big brother.

I saw one of those posts on facebook that read like this, "Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who WANT YOU in theirs, the ones who ACCEPT you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you NO MATTER WHAT."

We've all read sentiments like this before but I liked it especially because of the acceptance part. My son has special needs and I have to say that every Tuesday and Thursday, we both enjoy coming here as a haven of progress and acceptance. No matter what kind of day my son is having, he anticipates these two days every week. He feels the comfort and acceptance from every single instructor and student volunteer. He knows he is no different here, and he will never be excluded. Rather, he will be taught methods to work through his emotions or weakness of skill or coordination. What I am most impressed with, is how they have young students helping with this class, so children with special needs are fully integrated with typical peers - and valuable skills are cultivated from this on both ends.

But what I personally feel transcends my son...all the parents at the MASSTER class are supportive of one another. Gentle smiles, reassuring pats, crying laughs , and compassionate hugs are shared by the parents as well as the staff and that's because this is the culture that is nurtured at USK. The owners, David and Jill, always acknowledge me, take the time to speak with me, and would never think to tell me my son is not welcome no matter what happens - sounds like family to me!

Most importantly, the USK family did something for me - let's say "granted a wish" for me for this past holiday season. It is something no business has EVER done for me. Let's just say, just when you think no one is listening to your life or your problems, they did... and that is what will keep me coming back for both myself and my son.

If you or your child want to learn martial arts, then there are lots of places around the neighborhood to do so. But if you want to be part of a martial arts "family", then this is the only place to go.

Well I must say I have been in alot of martial arts schools, but this one is by far the most unique one. Just to share a personal story we...we have a very good friend that lives in Boynton Beach that brought our kids to class when we where on our anniversary trip. They have a son that immediately fell in love with the school and beg his mom to bring him back. Her and her husband attempted the commute for a few weeks but had to stop due work schedules. However, since that time they have tried over eight (8) schools closwe to them and none has given their son the structure nor desire to want to attend them even though they are minutes away from their home. I said all this to say USK is the best and keep up the excellent work.

We have tried several activities with both my 6 & 8 year old daughters and nothing seemed to grab their attention. At a community event the girls took interest in the USK booth and we decided to give it a try. USK Karate Academy is more than just a place to study and train martial arts and learn how to defend yourself, we are family. After trainig for a few years I decided I wanted to join the fire academy to become a firefighter and without the previous training, love and support from my family at USK I'm not sure that I would have been able to complete the fire academy with their harsh military style rules and realize my dream of being a firefighter. Also, martial arts is not even close to the only thing you learn at USK, life lessons, how to act in adrenaline-filled situations, respect for your elders and superiors and for all living beings are just a few of the important skills that are offered at our school along with the superior teaching skills and styles of our very approachable instructors is unmatched by any other martial arts academy that I've veen to. This is a fantastic school with amazing instructors. My son began learning karate in North Carolina a couple of years ago and we moved to south Florida almost a year ago. A big concern for us was finding a karate school that is reputable. USK Karate is the complete package! The instructors are always 100% involved in every class and you can tell that every instructor is enjoying what they're doing. Our son loves the school and we hope he continues well into adulthood.

An excellent learning environment for martial arts students. Their Instructors are 2nd to none and they train to standard not time. They are friendly and very willing to help you out if you aren't sure of a particular subject. They are hands down the best Martial Arts school I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot in my travels.

I began at USK when I was 8 years old. I was a pudgy, hesitant third grader who continuously got picked on in school because of my weight.Other students looked at me differently because of this and I was not at all socially accepted. My grades were on the decline, and I could not fulfill menial chores such as taking out the trash without complaining first. In my opinion, joining USK is probably one of the best things that has happened to me. After I began training, my family and peers began to notice a dramatic change. I unraveled as a human being, learning to express myself and stand up to those who bullied me not with fists, but with a strong heart and mind. I was no longer picked on because of my weight(because I lost it!), and my concentration skills and reverence for my loved ones reached an apex. Currently I am a Senior in High School about to graduate at the top of my class. I am involved of multiple organizations at my school, and I'm in shape. Though I am no longer a student of USK, I owe this dramatic life change to the staff and individuals of USK Karate Academy for instilling powerful values and virtues that will remain with me for the rest of my life.

Sending your child to USK might just be the best decision you might make for them. Becoming a student of this great school is a life experience that you will remember and treasure for the rest of your life. Don't miss out. :)

A very clean, hands on, and healthy environment. All staff members are outstanding and willing to help out. I loved the fact that students of all ages and backgrounds were welcome! Perhaps one way to look at this school is to think of military schools and how they teach values that carry though to all situations in life. Without the "military discipline" you'd find in a military school USK teaches those values in a way that all can understand. And then they make their students internalize and further understand those values by activities in class. When you add that to getting into fantastic shape and feeling that you can now defend yourself and remove many fears we all have of personal safety you then have an activity that is almost priceless. It will change your life very much for the better.

I took classes at USK from ages 11 to 18. During that time, I earned my second degree Dan (the equivalent to a black belt in other schools).

I loved my time there. Under the staffs' careful instruction, I transformed from a painfully shy, nervous child into a much more confident person. Though I no longer practice martial arts, the lessons I learned at USK have helped me immensely in my academic, personal, and professional endeavors. My time at USK taught me about discipline and integrity in a world where so few places seem to teach those things anymore. I was taught to have respect for my elders (I called my professors "sir" and "ma'am" all throughout college on reflex...they were pleasantly surprised :)) and to value hard work. I learned how to be a leader and I learned the value of humility.

The instructors are highly skilled and incredibly passionate about what they do; they model the values they teach. They really invest in their students and want them to succeed. I watched my fellow classmates grow and mature alongside me in so many ways as well. I would recommend USK to anyone. Tang Soo Do is more than just a hobby or an after school activity...it can be transforming!

USK Karate Academy has been a huge blessing, not only to my 14 year old son, but to his parents as well. My son started training at USK when he was 7 years old. In that time, he has learned so much...not only about how to kick and punch, but about the skills he will need to succeed as an adult. Although I live approximately 40 minutes away from USK, my husband and I decided to choose USK, even though there are a large number of other martial arts training facilities that are located much nearer to our home. This decision was based upon the values training, and the high level of integrity that USK was and is known for. Any one of the martial arts facilities could have taught my son how to kick and punch, but few, if any, have committed to teaching values, integrity, self-discipline and honor as is done at USK. My son has learned how to defend himself rather than how to become a bully. He has learned the value of respect for his parents, his country and the family. He has learned the value of EARNING success, rather than having the shallow "achievement" of everyone earning a prize just for showing up. And from this he has learned to respect not only himself, but others. I am very grateful to have found USK Karate Academy.

My husband and son have been training at USK Karate Academy for over a year now, and they both enjoy going to their training. My son, Blaine, has improved his balance and techniques so much since he started at USK. I am so proud of him that he continues to train there like a warrior does. He also learns so many important life lessons from all the instructors. My husband, David, also loves going to his training. It is helping him get back into shape, as well as learning his marital art techniques. I just love to go and watch both of them, even though they train on separate days, as it is like being home because at USK Karate Academy, everyone is family there from all the students and the instructors. Amazing place. My son has been attending their special needs class for a year now and the teachers are really great and caring. They make you feel like you are part of the family and have great values. I highly recommend them. As of this last month our entire family is now part of the USK family, both my husband and I really enjoy the adult classes and my 4 year old loves the Mighty Tiger class. :)
