Impossible to get a hold of. I represent a group of para-athletes who are always looking for gym space. I hesitate to blame malice when it simply could be incompetence so i won’t even try to ascribe motivation to the “why”, but…

Impossible to get a hold of. Have reached out directly to their CEO and Sports Program Director. Emails are terse, one-lined. Reminders of who i am and what I’m doing need to be sent. And then there’s radio silence. I’ve had to rent space from multiple gyms and work with multiple places along the TC and Palm Beaches. These folks must be making money hand over fist or super busy to just ignore folks. Or string them along on emails for weeks when a phone call could handle the problem in literal minutes. Inexcusable service provided. You call and “they prefer email contact they’re in a meeting right now”. Yeah i would prefer email contact, too, if i didn’t have to reply and if i did or when i did reply i can answer with nonsensical one-line replies that drag on the interaction.

Would love to be able to review the facility itself. But I’m still sending emails into the ether at this point. I wanna see if it goes anywhere. Shoutout to the other facilities that answered, provided information, and have booked our group in the time it’s taken the YMCA to put on their shoes.

Update as of October 16, 2025:

After my experience with trying to reach them or get answers, fun thing occured yesterday: the sports program director DID call me on my cell yesterday i had given him through my multiple email requests. The next day after this review, in fact! He took the opportunity to berate me and call my character into question while defending his own. All because of this factual and accurate Google review, mind you. I asked him if managing to call me the day after a poor )and accurate google review) yet not returning emails or calls was indicative of the level of professionalism you can expect from the TC Y. I was informed that they are unbelievably busy and i am NOT, in fact, their only client and i am ridiculous to think somebody should be able to rent a gym in less than 2 months of attempts.

So just a follow-up and a heads-up on the sort of individual you will be engaging with at the Y. Again, i would love to be able to include a review of the facility itself but thought the process of getting INTO the gym was worth noting. GOOD LUCK!!

Great gym if you want adequate equipment but people not taking selfies of themselves and hogging equipment. The front desk staff is for the most part very friendly in greeting you as you enter and exit. I see alot of happy kids going to and from the basketball courts. I only using the weight room but the bathrooms and shower facilities are clean.

The TCYMCA has been such a massive blessing for my family. I am beyond grateful for this place and all it has done for me mentally, and my family.

The childcare staff is truly remarkable. Alexi and Danielle care and love for these children truly as if they were their own. They go above and beyond in not only assuring our children are safer, but are so engaging, attentive and FUN. My kids begs to see them daily.

Kyle and Gary who helped over the summer are also remarkable, kind caring young men.

I am so grateful for the ymca, the pool outside has ACCELERATED my children in their swimming journey. We look forward to taking lessons with Maya in the fall.

Coach Perez is also so warm and inviting to all who walk in the doors. Lori & Kim are also so so amazing and you can see how much they care for their job. Adrienne at the front desk is SUCH a joy and is always so happy to greet my family and I in the morning.

Everyone here is wonderful and I wish I had come years earlier! This YMCA truly embodies what a Y should stand for. Thank you guys so much!

Our experience with the YMCA was a success. Kevin was an excellent swimming instructor—he was patient and professional at all times. Kevin is bilingual and helped me with Spanish! Kelly always maintained clear and kind communication. My 11-year-old daughter felt comfortable and had fun throughout the entire process. It was an experience my family will always remember.

I’ve been going to the Y quite some time now and recently things have been different. The athletic director Joseph has been very disrespectful towards the kids who pay to play with others during open gym. He has stopped open gym out of nowhere and replaced it for more pickleball hours which is outrageous because they are there all day.

The daycare at the YMCA is great. Im very grateful to the teachers because my kids are being treated very good. They actually console the kids that cry when getting dropped off. They put baby lullabies during nap time. My son normally does not take a nap but here he does lol. They also have swimming lessons for the 3 year olds and up. I definitely recommend this daycare. I have not tried all of the YMCA programs yet, but the gym looks good quality, they have a kiddie pool and a splash pad for the toddlers.

Our family loves the Treasure Coast YMCA!
We’re there several times a week, and the staff truly make it feel like a second home. Kelly and Gina helped my kids learn to swim in just a few months, and Coach Perez and his team have introduced my preschooler to multiple sports with so much patience and encouragement.

While I work out, my kids look forward to Child Watch with Miss Alexi and Miss Danielle — they’re not only caring, but incredibly engaging and fun. And every visit starts with a warm welcome from Adrien at the front desk.

We’re so grateful for this amazing team and the positive impact they’ve had on our whole family!

no one mentioned that childcare is only 8-11 & 4-7 (plus no 4-7 on friday). i couldn’t find that info online either, so i wasted an hour of driving plus $100 for a months membership to not even be able to use it unless i wake everyone up early or not be able to make dinner. i never would’ve signed up and wasted that much money if i knew the childcare hours prior.

This swimming program is amazing. When we thought our son might enjoy swimming, we brought him to the pool to meet the Aquatics Coordinator Kelly Bruneau. Kelly provided all of the details about the program options available within the YMCA V6 Swim Lessons. Now thanks to Kelly and swim instructor Maddie, our son is excelling in all four competitive strokes and can swim over a half a mile each session without assistance. The rest of the gym/facility and sports programs (basketball, flag football, volleyball, etc.) are run equally as well and we are very happy we joined.

As a coach and a parent I find that the ymca basketball sport program is heading in the right direction. The change in management made the initial start a little bumpy but Mr.Perez takes in suggestions and concerns and deals with them the best way possible. I can only speak for basketball but as long as the voice of the parents are heard as well as maintaining the focus of helping kids develop not only in sports but in taking instruction and criticism. The Y will be a great place to start a love in any sport.

We have had our kids in soccer for several seasons now and I have been so impressed with the skills they are learning in soccer and how to be better teammate and ultimately people. The coaches from volunteer parents to the director, Coach Perez, make this a beneficial part of my children’s development by incorporating lessons on teamwork, good sportsmanship and of course sport for the sake of fun and healthy play. I’m so happy we have this choice as we aren’t ready for our kids to dedicate time to a competitive travel team. Much love from our family

I would encourage anyone to join the YMCA in Stuart, FL. The facility is clean, bright, and has friendly and helpful staff. Outdoor pool for entire family. Child care is available.
My son particularly likes basketball and swimming. Coach Perez and Coach Issac are an added bonus to this YMCA location! Soccer is available too.
The YMCA in Stuart, FL offers a safe, fun, learning experience to any child/tween/teen.
This YMCA will be a life long "bonus" to the shaping of my son's character. The YMCA teaches values that will last a lifetime (sharing, caring, and team sport ethics)
I can't say enough good about them! I would highly recommend the YMCA to any parent.

My husband and I were in the middle of a cycling class when we were asked to dismount our bikes because they were being repossessed. That's how we learned our old gym was closing. We heard the Y was  welcoming everyone from that gym with a month's free membership and decided to try it out.  Initially I stuck to cycling, taking four classes a week. Then, one of the instructors suggested I take some weight bearing classes. I took a boot camp class and I was hooked.

When my alarm goes off in the morning, I grumble but I get up because I know I will regret missing the class and other class members will hold me accountable.

I'm going to lunch this week with four of my closest friends. I met two of these friends during classes at the Y.

We have been at the Y now for almost 20 years. We stay  because of the variety of classes, state of the art equipment, great instructors, friends, and community spirit.

We tried hard to like the YMCA. With young kids there's few options for gyms with childcare. When we started we noticed the childcare staff would open late or close early whenever they wanted. They would have their boyfriend/girlfriend come in to talk while they are supposed to be watching kids. These issues were raised to management and they never got back to us about it. When we cancelled they provided nothing to show our membership was cancelled. Sure enough the YMCA still tried to charge for the next month and have tried to charge us 5 times in the past two weeks. Management says there is nothing they can do to stop it.

Water discovery class. Not sure I would pay for this class. We received free. But I'm sure the Y got paid by the State.

Last 2 weeks with new instructor, Kevin, has immensely improved this class. He's great with the kids. Patient, works individually as well as with group. Kevin was great.

Unorganized: week 1 great, week 2 had different instructor. young, just learning, not a good commu icator for being an instructor. Lesson was same as week 1. Week 3 was great, advanced from Week 1/2, with more underwater activities. Week 4 canceled for weather. Week 5 back to week 1/2 lesson barely getting head wet.

Expected at least some kind of followed weekly progressive lesson plan. That way even if there are different instructors. There's a plan. Nope. Instructor sometimes more than 1, stand around thinking of different activities to do.

Going to be brutally honest with this one. I've been to a lot of YMCA's. I loved the Y in New Jersey and North Carolina. This one is the worst I've gone to. At night, it seems to be anything goes with teenagers cussing loudly in the gym. The employees working in the workout center sit on their phones and don't look at anyone. During the day all I see is an employee down the hall by the gym letting kids do whatever they want in the gym. Other YMCAS had friendly people who worked there and this one just has a closed kids center, dirty pool, rude (what I see on her door her title is) CEO who has given me dirty looks several times, and absolutely no one monitoring who comes in and out of the gym. Save your money its not worth it. I canceled after two months.

What’s going on with this place? Showed up there today to use child drop which is primary reason we maintain our membership; that and the pool, which seems to be shut down every other week. Child drop room was empty and nobody knew why. Took 15 minutes for them to find out the person working the room was out sick. How is there only one person that can work that room? No email sent out either notifying parents the room would be closed that day. Disappointing.

We just canceled our family membership after 2-3years. We had used all the youth programs and support Y and recommended all parents to utilize Y programs for their children. After an incident at the pool which two life guards were extremely rude and disrespectfully yelled multiple times at my boys when they tried to grab a ball from the pool deck. It wasn’t crazy behavior at all since they already had yelled for no reasons. Lifeguards insisted that they were doing their job and accused me to interrup their duties and scream at me to get out of the pool when I asked them to be a little nicer to kids.

We had tried to solve the problem and complained the issue with a nice manner however, the branch director, Tressa didn’t want to take a responsibility and asked us to contact aquatics director.

If you have younger kids and want to do something with aquatics program in Y Stuart location, please be mindful that those teenagers counselors and lifeguards are very rude and disrespectful to younger kids.

That Y stuart branch is good for 65+, not the family members with younger kids.

My kids and i enjoyed working out on a day pass, they trained for 3 hrs (the are competitive jiujitsu fighters) 9 and 6 years olds. The adults next to us complimented them 3 times about how well they were behaved and how some adults cant even be that quiet. We came back today and was told they CANNOT work out unless they are 14. Well thats pretty unfortunate considering the Y is for youth. Where else can kids live a healthy lifestyle. Not to mention a front desk worker who has zero customer service looking at the kids like how dare they be there. We will take them else where, maybe get all the staff on the same page so it does not change day to day!

We have been coming to the YMCA in Stuart for about 3 years. Over the past year we have noticed some major changes in the quality of this program. The camps are run by teenagers and it wasn’t until the last week that they had finally added my child to the login roster to be accounted for at drop and pick up from the camp. We reached out to the director many times due to concerns with safety regarding the checking in and checking out process.

I have my child enrolled in basketball. He says he hates basketball because the kids are too rough and he’s not learning anything. There is absolutely no coaching or structure to the practices. We paid a decent fee to be a part of the basketball program in the hopes our child will learn about the game and develop some skills. The attached photo is a picture of one of the coaches rolling around on the floor on the court. She did not fall. She’s just laying there. She comes to practice barefoot each and every week, stands around, and does nothing.

The final straw was our experience leaving the center this evening after “practice”. As we left today there was a man living in his van in the parking lot. It was apparent that he resided in his van. He gathered some items and entered the YMCA to bathe in the locker room. There’s no one at the front desk checking people in.

I am concerned about the safety of my children on numerous levels. We will not be returning to the YMCA. They NEED to do better! It’s very and disappointing and disturbing.

Tried to cancel my membership at YMCA treasure coast Stuart b c it’s a 66 min drive . When I joined a month ago I was in that area a lot ,now it’s not convenient. Called twice talked to 2 different people they will not end your membership over the phone. I joined thru my mobile device, they instantly charge you . Just saw another charge . Was told I had to wait 6 more days to talk to someone 🤔

Awesome crew, worked lifeguard and enjoyed the learning experience. Seth is doing a great job and loves to listen to everyones insights on how to improve the facility. Kyla is also doing a great job training life guards, she would take a lot of time going over safety percedures. I didn't want to leave but if I could go back to any YMCA this would be the one. It's definitely the most memorable for me. Keep up the good work guys. :)

I watched my child get ignored and almost drowned while asking her instructor for help during a group swimming lesson. The instructors name was Ryan. She had 6 kids total and I watched and listened as she gave CONFUSING instructions to the little ones and was unable to keep track of what all 6 kids were doing at all times in the water. After my child fell in the pool while she was 2 feet away she got out on her own and coughed up water with her lunch. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about how horrible that experience must’ve been for her. I dont feel safe bringing child back to this place and would rather spend a little more on private lessons than take her back here.

The YMCA does an incredible job with caring for our community. From low cost child care, a beautiful fitness facility and swimming lessons for kids! We highly recommend checking out the local YMCA. Thank you for always including us with your fundraising!

I’m not too happy with their swim lessons or the woman who runs them. She is lazy, disorganized and rude. I have seen her scream at children in her swim club- as a parent I do not feel like that fosters a productive learning environment. Her behavior is not only disruptive but truly disturbing. I highly suggest you skip the Y and take your children elsewhere.

I'm a YMCA kid who came back to the Y as an adult. I recommend this place for all ages. Above all, this a place to make life long friends while staying fit and giving back to the community. If you're not a member yet, consider joining!

Disappointing. If you care about families. Why do you run people’s account in to overdraft in this time of financial hardship. How you charge for service when you close your doors.

One of the most disgusting places I have ever set foot it. Do yourself a favor and go to a good, clean gym with trainers who have actual knowledge of fitness, exercise science, anatomy and nutrition. This place is a joke.

Continue to deactivate my account and charge a new $26 sign up fee, if not paid exactly on the first of the month. Lap pool is not cleaned, always has trash in it. Staff is either very friendly or cannot help with any request. Considering moving my membership to a private facility, this is not ideal for Adult memberships, even if you are a local resident, trying to help your community.

This is an excellent place for kids and adults. I’ve been coming for years and I have nothing but good feelings when I step in the building. It should be nominated for a prize😃😃. They are the best!! The staff are so friendly and kind. Rae at the front desk is a gem 💎. Sweetest most kindest person you could meet. Brandy does such a great job getting my son into activities when he needs them and Bob runs the sports impeccably. They all are the best people ever!!!

My youngest is currently attending the summer camp program, and it's been terrific! The staff is friendly, and on the ball, and every day my daughter practically falls asleep on the way home from the days activities. She's usually quiet and kind of shy, but the YMCA is bringing her out of her shell in a great way. She is having a blast!
The childcare service director is awesome too, and does his best to be as accommodating as is possible and practical.
We will continue with the Y for many years to come!

My family has been member of the YMCA for quite some time. My twin boys were taking swimming lessons back when Ms. Elisha was the Aquatics Director (now Branch Executive Director). Every spring and summer we enroll at the YMCA, the boys still enjoy it. They are almost 13 years old; and this summer we booked seven (7) weeks, in addition to being Wahoo Swim Team members.

Throughout the years, we have experienced YMCA Summer Staff Members that are great, medium and mediocre. We are OK with all that since we try to teach the boys how to deal with all kind of different situations and people. However, I think I should bring to your attention another kind of Staff Members: the exceptional kind. The ones that always go above and beyond their duties to provide assistance every single time. That is the case with Mr. David Daniels. We know him since his days working at the YMCA Sports World. I just wanted you to know that his professionalism doesn’t go unnoticed. He is a great asset to the Y; always attentive, polite, friendly, and helpful . Another exceptionally good Staff Member is Ms. Rachael Hilkin. She is also amazing.

We just thought to let you know :-)

Sincerely,

The Van Agtmaal-Bonet Family

If I could give negative stars I would!!! This is more for the childcare side. I had a horrible experience as a new mom with their infant room, the teacher Ms. Claria and the Director Robert. My daughter attended there from 4 months to about 9 months when we decided we were being targeted by one of the teachers and I removed her. I would get a phone call at least once a week telling me my child was sick and I needed to come get her. I worked full-time as well as my husband during the day so it as very inconvenient, plus she was never sick, I took her to the doctor never anything wrong. She never actually had a fever, this "teacher" made excuses every time to get my daughter out. Yes she was a crier and they have so many babies in that room because of state law it was legal but they would leave children screaming in swings saying "oh thats just what they do, they want to be held". It was always an excuse no personal attention to the children no one ever on the floor playing with the kids on the floor. This one teacher was the only teacher I had a problem with. The other teachers that served in that classroom were great. They never believed she was sick but feared retribution from the Director Robert, who in my opinion does a horrible job as a children's director. I had made the complaint about the teacher and he told me he didn't care and he would choose his teacher's word of any parent. He was unprofessional and rude. He told me I needed to remove my daughter since I did not trust the teacher. I can go on and on about this horrific experience which also scarred the baby because she had attachment problems in the beginning but finally got used to some of the teachers and then I had to rip her out of there and put her in another daycare. It's truly sad because all of the YMCA has lost my business and support for the actions of 2 people. I tried going up the chain and it stopped with the director of that facility basically doing nothing as well, she was nice but nothing was resolved except I lost money and had to find a new daycare. I was warned by SEVERAL people and other day care facilities about the "Teddy bear Academy" but I had to find out the hard way.

My brother went to ymca for fishing camp on the first week of summer. He was staying with my grandpa at the time cause he lives in stuart. In the manual it says to bring sunscreen so my brother did. On wendsday when we saw him his face was really red like no one had been puting sunscreen on him. But on Thursday my mom got a call from my grandpa saying that he had a really bad sunburn and so my mom got mad because my brother could get scin cancer so if u were thinking about bring your kids to ymca then dont.

To start off, this is the biggest joke of a gym. They never clean the place. The ceilings are dripping rusty "goop" on to gym floor and actually on me occasionally. Also in the basketball court the ceilings are torn and moldy; also right where the air conditioning vents blow air into the gym. There is a ton of mold and dirt that is now being propelled into the air for you and the children that run around the jungle gym of a court it is. If you are a basketball player, dont come here. They will never clean the floor. you'll be slipping and sliding like you were in socks and a ice skating rink. as for the trainers, they are the biggest phonies of it all. They are mostly older people that have very little prior knowledge to exercise that ride on a stationary bike with fat people for there check. trust me on this pay the extra money and go to LA you wont doubt it
