I’ve been a member at YouFit for some time and generally enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff—until my recent encounter with an employee named Matt completely ruined my experience. On October 26, 2025, at around 6:50 PM, as I was finishing my final set of the evening, Matt approached me with an astonishingly rude and condescending attitude about the gym closing at 7 PM. His tone was not just firm but outright hostile, making me feel like an inconvenience for simply using the facility during its operating hours. His behavior was uncalled for and left me feeling rushed, disrespected, and unwelcome in a place that’s supposed to be supportive and encouraging.
To make matters worse, I observed Matt treating other members with the same abrasive demeanor, barking at them to leave as closing time approached. This wasn’t a one-off incident but a clear pattern of unprofessional conduct that created a tense and hostile environment for everyone in the gym. It’s disheartening to see one employee single-handedly undermine the positive vibe that YouFit typically fosters. Other staff members I’ve interacted with have been courteous, helpful, and professional, which makes Matt’s behavior stand out even more as a glaring issue.
This experience has seriously made me question whether I want to continue my membership at YouFit. A gym should be a place where members feel motivated and respected, not belittled or hurried out the door. I strongly urge management to address Matt’s conduct and provide him with training on customer service and professionalism. If this issue persists, I’ll have no choice but to take my business to another gym that prioritizes a consistently positive experience for its members. YouFit has the potential to be great, but employees like Matt are a detriment to its reputation.

I advise people not to sign up for this gym because they’re scammers to cancel your membership. You have to pay a lease almost $200 to get out of it. I was on the phone with the manager and I explained to her I have an email that I was going through the cancellation process and they were still charging me and she made it seem like she was gonna help me out and end up driving over there 40 minutes just to be told we can’t do nothing about it. The only thing they can do is re-sign me back up. I have to stay for three months then pay $30 every month.

All the medical care I’ve been receiving since I’ve had my hip replaced hasn’t been as great as since I joined you fit and have Scott as a trainer. He is so compassionate, but also so understanding and helping me get through all these particular routines and how they work in our bodies to the umpteenth steps so he’s really really great and everybody else in here is really really great thank you

Decent gym but they purposely make it difficult to cancel because it’s an effective way to get people to keep paying once they leave. They make you call a 3rd party to cancel it and say they have no power to cancel it themselves. The 3rd party will make you wait on hold for far too long. And if there’s an accidental payment no one can help you or even let you talk to their manager. It’s all through a 3rd party. Besides, the Oakland park location doesn’t have a sauna or anything and doesn’t let you slam weights. So not for real athletes

I like the gym, overall. I’ve found it clean and with good equipment and a friendly staff.

Here’s the bad. The app doesn’t work. For group workouts, the check in function doesn’t work. Also, it’s entirely dated on its group workout schedule. There are classes on the schedule that haven’t been held in over 3 months, because those instructors left. At least a dozen times, I showed up to attend a class to have the trainer no show or to find the class has been eliminated. I’ve spoke to management many times and nothing gets fixed. I’ve been sticking around, hoping it would improve, but I may have to find a new place to workout.

Just got charged my annual 55$ fee and it got me thinking, where exactly is this money going to and helping towards even though I'm in the basic 15$ a month plan?

The equipment is all tattered up and has broken prints on it, one of the three water fountain machines have been broken for the year I have been at this gym. And there is literally broken equipment for over months now. The lockers are busted, bathrooms dirty and musty, genuinely what are you doing youfit?

I seem to me in a echo chamber where nothing is getting done from previous agreed reviews here. Step up your game because the low bar you had for your standards got even somehow lower. You used ti have a cleaner in the afternoon and late nights, you stopped and i dont see that same person or any person vacuuming or cleaning. Just the front desk picking up things, one front desk person as the sole worker most if not all the time.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the condition of the equipment and overall environment at YouFit. Despite paying an annual maintenance fee, the machines are not being properly maintained. Nearly all of the equipment shows damage, and I have seen machines marked “out of order” for months without repair.

I have provided feedback through surveys and reported these issues to staff at the front desk, but no action has been taken. It’s clear the maintenance fees are not being used as intended. When I visit other gyms, like LA Fitness, the equipment looks pristine and well maintained. The contrast is obvious.

In addition, the gym is consistently hot, and you can feel it as soon as you walk upstairs. This makes working out uncomfortable and unpleasant.

My wife came here to work out with me and got a 3 day pass. She walked in and immediately thought the place was depressing and said, "This looks like a prison yard gym.". We now refer to this place as "prison gym". She refuses to come back.

Anyone thinking of joining this gym should review other nearby gyms before making a decision.

It's incredible the bad changes that have arisen in the gym where I have been coming for two years, with the treatment of the new manager, I feel mistreated only because I could not bring in the skateboard which is small and without explanation he did not let me in, and he spoke to me in an inappropriate way in front of the people who were there, meanwhile all the mirrors in the gym remain dirty for days and there is almost never disinfectant to clean the equipment, like today all empty. I hope this situation changes because everything was going very well but it seems the new changes have not been good.

Gym alright. There are no amenities. There are wide varieties of machines. I have no complaints about the equipments. What I disliked were around billing. This company need to get on with 21st century. My sign up and deactivation experience as follows:

- There is a onetime membership fee. I was able to sign up using credit card. Then they said for membership monthly fee I need to use bank transfer. Ok I gave my bank information too.
- Then I rolled over to use the bank transfer method, so nothing should be using the credit card right? Nope I couldn't delete my credit card information in the app.
- Went to the front desk and told them to delete it. They said they deleted it, I opened the app, it was still there. I couldn't delete it myself in the app as it says it's still in use. Ok I just leave it alone and make sure the card is not charged.
- Then couple months later I wanted to cancel my membership. I couldn't cancel it on the app, or in the front desk. The front desk person said to call a number.
- I called the number and there was no option to cancel the member.
- I called youfit frontdesk again and they said it is a hidden menu, press 0 couple of times.
- Then I called again and tried pressing 0 random times and finally got through. Then I was put on the wait line to get a person
- I got a person to answer the call, and was told I would be charged last entire 30 day month because the agreement said I need to let the gym know 30 days in advance. There was also a processing fee for cancelling.
- My experience with this whole billing process was severely negative. It just goes how much they put through customers to go through the system just to cancel their membership. Usually you can just click a button in the app, no need to wait in line calling a bunch of people and wasting time. If people want to cancel their membership, let them do it. Nothing they do can stop it anyway.

I've been coming here since 2016. Good equipment, staff definitely do not hold their own policy such as tripods, recording, cleaning after you use the equipment, not putting the weights back, working out with sandals, and total lack of gym etiquette. Don't take my word for it, walk around and see how dirty this place is. The bathroom below is disgusting, still has feces at the bottom of it. People throw up and is not cleaned up. Closest gym to my house, I guess I have no choice. However, if you listen to this. Please invest in doing a full clean up!

I highly recommend You Fit Gym on Commercial Blvd in Oakland Park Florida (in Ft Lauderdale area).
The helpful and friendly You Fit Gym Staff such as Hercules (Asst Mgr), Shay at the front desk, Nohemie the helpful and friendly Trainer who trained me, and Alex another Trainer ALL will help ANY Person who walks into or trains there.
The equipment is very good and the prices are very good also.
So I highly recommend everybody who wants to get in better shape to go to You Fit Gym, in Oakland Park, the BEST in the area.

Cuando cancelé todo y se venció el tiempo contratado, me siguieron cobrando el entrenador. Hice el reclamo y, aunque ellos cambiaron las condiciones, insistieron en que debía pagar. Además el manager es una persona muy poco amable, No hubo manera de resolverlo, así que terminé saliéndome del gimnasio.

Después de uno o dos años, decidí darle otra oportunidad porque está muy cerca de mi trabajo. Esta vez pagué la membresía más económica, que no tenía contrato. Sin embargo, por problemas de salud y una hernia, tuve que dejar de ir. Llamé para cancelar, me dieron un número de teléfono para la cancelación y lo hice por ese medio. Incluso recibí una confirmación de la llamada y me dijeron que me enviarían un correo confirmando que no debía más dinero, después de haber pagado un cargo final de $57 y otro de $30.

This is the second time I’ve had serious issues with YouFit. A few years ago, I signed up for a monthly membership and a three-month personal training package. When I canceled everything and the contracted time had ended, they kept charging me for the personal training. I filed a complaint, but despite them changing the policy, they insisted that I had to pay. There was no way to resolve it, so I ended up leaving the gym.

After a year or two, I decided to give them another chance in 2024 because they’re located right across from my workplace. This time, I signed up for the cheapest membership, which has no contract. However, due to health issues and a hernia, I had to stop going. I called to cancel, and they gave me a phone number to process the cancellation. I followed through with it, and even received a confirmation of the call. They told me they’d send an email to confirm that I didn’t owe anything, after I had already paid a final fee of $57 plus $30 for one month.

This happened in May 2024, and now, in October 2024, I received both an email and a physical letter stating that I owe $257.36 and that my account is being handled by a lawyer. They claim I had a mandatory 12-month membership, which I never signed or agreed to. When I went to the gym to talk to someone, they said they couldn’t do anything because another company handles these matters.

This is completely unfair. I’ve read other reviews, and it seems that YouFit is doing this to many people across the country. I’m not the only victim of these deceptive practices, and I want to join others to take action and prevent this from continuing.

I’ve been coming to this gym for almost two years now and I love it here. It’s always a nice environment and it motivates me during my workouts. The place is always kept clean as well. I’m coming back a year later to rave some more about this gym! Obviously it’s a great one because I’m still here after all this time. Nohemie, Jordan, and all the trainers do an amazing job. I should know- I’ve last 20 pounds and counting this year alone.

Brian and the entire management/front desk staff continue to excel at providing quality customer service and being knowledgeable about everything youfit has to offer.

But my favorite part has to be the sense of community that comes from a gym like this, and the amazing friends I’ve made from working out here. If you’re on the fence, just do it! You won’t regret it.

This gym has nice staff and they make it so easy to get onboarded. The rates are reasonable as well, especially in this economy. I’ve been training with Nohemie for a few months now and it’s been an INCREDIBLE experience. She is committed to you as her client, has a wide knowledge of expertise, and motivates you to get results! I’ve had opportunities to train with Raji, Max, and Angel before and they are amazing as well. Just a really well rounded and well educated PT team. Management and reception are friendly and great as well.

Beware of the commitments/agreements you make with this club; they sale you a premium membership, when at the location i was going decided to removed some therapeutic equipments. Jason, The front desk staff was rude and told me I couldn’t use the restroom when I had an emergency with my Chrones disease. He stated the policy of having the member check me in and I had to wait for her. I was seconds away from an embarrassing situation and when I continued to walk towards the rest room he told me I literally had 2 seconds to go. I said you can’t tell me that. I was so upset I went outside and cried. When my friend arrived she spoke with him and then we went to RetroFit up the street from them. Guess what, it’s brand new. They have massage chairs and red light therapy and a juice bar. Thank you Ufit for showing us we deserve better.

Not happy. No one was at the counter and I stood there for awhile. There was still no one at the counter when I left after finishing my workout. I figured out how to sign in on the screen. The machine options were good which is why I gave it two stars. The locker room was disgusting. Trash in places, no hand soap at all. Someone wiped there rear and tossed it next to the trash can of the locker room. There are the pointy ends of screws coming through the wall of a bathroom stall. There was a bunch of hair in the shower next to me, the other side had feces in it. I don't like the showers. It's like showering in a closet that spray water under the door to the main area. Which is likely to cause a slipping accident. Don't know what the deal is with the duct tape all over the lockers either. (Took photos and attached. Not putting the feces one on here to avoid making someone sick after seeing.)

I hardly ever leave bad reviews but I am today!
The $0 down promotion is literally a scam. Ever since I signed up with them a month ago. They have taken payments from my account every two weeks. They are not upfront about how they charge you. Depending on when you sign up they will charge a prorated fee for that month and then they will charge you again on the 31st of that same month and then they will charge you again for the annual fee . So within a month of me joining - I paid over $100 when I thought I would be paying $25.
Before any of this even happened I stopped going to the Oakland park location and drive 20 minutes everyday to Dania Pointe. YouFit in Oakland park is outdated and the staff is rude, unprofessional and have 0 compassion for their customers. I LOVE the Dania pointe location. It's super nice in there, the staff is lovely and they have a sauna

I’ve never left a bad review for anyone in my life but this place got in my nerves. Had a contract with them for a year which I regret very much since they never seem to clean the locker rooms or the gym (someone cut their nails and were on the floor for at least two weeks). Besides that, I can’t say all of the staff but most of them are completely useless I’VE TRIED TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP FOR 3 MONTHS ALREADY AND I’M STILL GETTING CHARGED BECAUSE THEY WOULD TELL ME EVERY MONTH IT WAS CANCELLED AND NEVER REALLY WAS. I’ve called 4 times the last month to get a hold of the manager Bryan, let my phone number and never got a call back. When I was finally able to talk to him he gave me a phone number to cancel it and told me he didn’t have the authority to issue a refund for his employees incompetence but I could talk to the third party about the refund. Called the third party and they told me the only one with the authority to issue a refund was the club. End of story, I had to end up paying for their mistakes. WORST GYM!!!!

Very unprofessional behavior from nohemi the personal trainer she was very passive aggressive when my friend and I decided to cancel physical training sessions that we didn’t need. She was reluctant to cancel the sessions then made negative comments about our personal fitness goals we have between each other. We all walked out of the gym together and she continued her remarks all the way to her car across the parking lot. Totally unprofessional. Only gave two stars cause I’ve had pretty good experiences there besides this .

It was sold to a company named ABC financial services and they are ugly. They made it difficult to cancel your membership even after I moved to a city with no YouFit within 20 miles. My third attempt and they're still giving me a hard time. I will never sign with YouFit or any other under this company.

I’ve tried many youfit gyms and this location personally is my favorite! The staffs are very friendly and helpful! They even motivated me into getting a personal trainer and greatest investment ever! My PT Nohemie is awesome, very motivational and always pushes me to do my best! If I have a bad week of not being able to get to the gym I know one session with her gets me back into the grove of wanting to continue! Even days I’m not with her if she sees me in the gym she corrects my form or gives me a quick advice. I highly recommend going to this gym and requesting her as a PT! As side from her being so awesome, they offer a lot of perks and deals to their clients.

The people here are disgusting. They lie about the contracts your signing and then charge you for memberships you didn't approve of. They put me in a training program charging me $180 every month and I never received personal training. Then I specifically gave them a bank card different from the one I signed up with asking them to use that card instead for membership fees and they still charged the wrong card and are refusing to give me my money back. Then they claim I came in on Oct 31 2023 and on that day I was an hour away buring my mom they are liers and I highly suggest you don't join this gym and if you do give them a empty bank card to put on file because if not they are going to screw you

I have been going to Youfit for more than 2 years now, and I must say it has been exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I've tried many youfit gyms in my area , the one on commercial Blvd. is by far the best , its clean, large has a lot of machines , but most of all the staff .. one in particular Tatianna she's very helpful , knowledgeable , , always helping new staff out . lending a helpful hand to members . this is a special person . a big big credit to the youfit team !!!!!

Love this gym. Very clean, very friendly. Great location, lots of parking with round the clock security when stores are open. Gym is well lit and has plenty of space. The people working there are allowing others to leave Their items there over night In the lockers locked up.
The lockers are not there for someone's Permanent private use.. It's ridiculous, they are letting people use the lockers for their own personal use, 247.
And I believe it is against federal law to leave. locks on a locker overnight In any facility private or public.
how dangerous is that!!
And the locker rooms and the showers are filthy. You have workers, there pretending to do a job to get a check and doing nothing but pretend.

Crooks!!!! Do not sign with this company.....They are refusing to allow me to cancel my membership with out providing them DETAILED doctors letter stating why. If you try to say you moved they will not allow you to unless there is no youfit within 10 miles. I froze my account to allow me time to get my doctors note and the that charge was suppose to be $5 however they added a service charge and charged me $25. Each month I was charged a different price never the 33.95 I signed up for. I was even charged twice in one month and I am still waiting on my refund for their mistake. I will be disputing both charges and reaching out to BBB. Keep in mind that it is against the HIPAA law for these crooks to reach out to your doctor as they state they will. I spoke to a lawyer and he stated that while I do need to provide a doctors, they DO NOT have the right to reach out to my doctor or questions my condition. STAY AWAY ....... go to planet fitness where they don't need to be so desperate by tricking and locking their customers into contracts like this.

I have been with this gym for the past three years. Adequate equipment with a friendly staff. Recently, I have been working with fitness coach Raji Hakim. He is professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to your fitness goals. He takes the time to incorporate a workout that has your goals in mind as well as challenging. He spends a lot of energy in making sure my technique is correct, maximizing the results. I can honestly say I've seen some pretty incredible results and actually look forward to our weekly workout sessions. If you're looking for a fitness coach who will challenge you and feel comfortable around, Raji is the guy.

Cleanliness sure is lacking at this location. Womens locker room is bad, looks like it hasnt been cleaned in ages. Showers have black mold in the grout of the tile, garbage and hair all over. Dressing rooms, I found qtips and other garbage shoved in places. The mirrors look like someone brushed their teeth and spit all over the mirrors. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a while.

They send your account to collections if you don't go in person to cancel your membership. If you stop going and then change your credit card info months after ceasing to go due to fraud on your account, they say you owe them money and will then send it to collections so you get a fun mark on your otherwise pristine credit report.

I’ve been going to this gym for years now and I can honestly say it’s my second home.
The trainers are nice, the environment is always organized, and in all my years of going I had no problems with anyone from the community.

Definitely a good gym for beginner - intermediate people due to the machines and free weight spaces they have, overall good for everyone.

They also have a good variation of drinks to choose from, they go from easy drinks to even selling pre-workout drinks, with a very affordable price.

They also have yoga sessions, hitt classes, and all the personal trainers can help any level of skill that you wish to achieve (some of them are also bilingual)

Without a doubt a very well rounded gym.

I'm disappointed with the management/ training. The gym had no hand soap in the men's restrooms and when I went to management/staff I was told
"What u see... is what we got ...sorry"

If this was the middle of covid they'd be shut down.
The amount of possible contaminated Equipment with people not able to properly wash their hands after using the restroom.

I was Half tempted to walk NEXT DOOR to dollar general store and buy a couple of tubs of hand soap and put it on the counter for them.
Just no initiative to protect the safety of the members.

Has long been a great gym with high ceilings and elbow room.
But then they cleared out the large room that used to hold the leg training weight machines, and pushed into the main area, now poorly set up. *** Updated Feb 2023: Over 4 months later, they actually did bring in new machines, and cleared out some duplicates in the main rooms. There's still some that doesn't make sense, but overall, it's much better.

Around the same time, new staff also decided that the settings for the music should always be at MAXIMUM. *** Updated Feb 2023: YouFit has also stopped blasting the music (usually) and they have some friendly people on the front desk again.

The workout space is great. But the bathrooms are gross. I go Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There has been a clump of hair in one of the sink drains since Friday, its Sunday and it still there. Also all but one stalls had toilet paper all weekend. They finally seem to have got some today, but instead of putting them in the dispenser, they hung a roll in the back of the stall door. So you have to stand and get it. It smells in there. The toilets seem like they have not been cleaned in a while. I love the gym part. But please, I beg you to clean the bathrooms.

I canceled my membership here months ago due to doctors orders for a health condition. Unfortunately, I did not note the persons name I spoke to. Then Youfit tried charging my account hundreds of dollars!! I called on 10/28 and spoke to Tatiana and was told $8.11 to wipe away my debt (which I really didn't owe) and I had until 11/31 to cancel my membership. If not I would continue at $11 per month. Begining on 11/1 Youfit attempted to charge me $48!!
This resulted in me having to go in today ( after being in the hospital and very sick) to cancel membership. Needless to say Tatiana had to keep going in the side room to speak to management because she was clueless. Finally I requested a manager who tried to give me some ssongnd dance. Bottom line, I'm not paying for an employees mistake! Hire competent people and you'd retain membership but not as long as every other gym in town offers more Ammendities for the same price.

They call me every day telling me my account is in collections when I have written evidence of my in-person cancellation with all fees paid! This is unacceptable! Their gym is dark and depressing!
