Never ever upgrade your membership. You will not be allowed to downgrade unless you buy out your entire contract. This gym has the bare minimum and i would not go here, unfortunately it is the only commercial gym in all of Port Charlotte charging a reasonable price. Amped and Crunch will always be the better options, remember that before signing up.

My son was a member of this gym, he then joined the armed forces. They asked for the paperwork showing him out of the state. We provided this to them. They claimed he was just in basic, it didn’t “qualify” even though he was out of state. He continued to get charged, while out of the state. He then got orders for Japan, he sent them the orders, and changed his payment to a prepaid card with 1.00 on it. They couldn’t bill him, and shouldn’t have as he was in Japan. They got upset sent it to ABC financial services who then put him in collections. They had everything they requested, the proof and even called them from Japan. They didn’t care. They sent him to collections anyway. My son has a TS/SC level 1 for my beloved brothers who are in the armed forces (you know what a collections means as far as your security clearance). I beg of you, do not support this company as they do not support our country, or our young men in uniform who put their lives on the line for our country. They are absolutely disgusting, and despicable. My son is putting his name on that blank check for this country and they are worried more about their bottom line than doing the right thing. They have a nice variety of machines. The staff is very friendly and supportive.

I am lucky to be able to work with Tami and Matthew my personal trainers. They both really care and are helping me achieve my goals. The exercises are for me to work on strengthening my desired areas, not only is it hard work but they make it fun.

I am so happy and proud to be a part of my new gym family.

Love this gym I’ve been coming here for about 2 months I strength train 3-4 times a week has everything I need and a lot of different equipment I’ve yet to try. The other members keep to themselves and seem friendly. Everyone re racks there weights and cleans the machines when they are finished also the staff is really nice and it’s a good deal for what your getting out of a monthly membership.

3 girls people standing at the front, not a single says hi, again just 3 girls just chatting and annoyed you are using a membership ya paid for. Asked a question, got a rude response. Gym has dinged weights, garbage pulleys and filthy bathrooms. Stick to the clean and friendly north port or Venice ones unless ya want hepatitis.

Also autumn is probably one of the rudest people I've met, apparently everyone dislikes her attitude from the reviews.

Great Gym with Outstanding Staff!

I've been a member at YouFit for a while now, and I have to say, the staff really makes a difference. I want to give a special shoutout to Autumn—she is the definition of professionalism. No matter the situation, she handles everything with a calm demeanor and even a touch of humor, which makes the gym experience that much better.

I've seen her deal with negativity firsthand, and instead of letting it bring her down, she stays composed, positive, and solution-oriented. The gym is laid out very well. I would go to Northport Ave., Port Charlotte.
I went in for a tour on Sunday. Young ladies were nice at the front desk asked for some information then I did a walk-through. The bathroom smells very strong urine. When I mentioned it she said oh yeah that’s the protein. Go to Northport or find another gym this place sucks Unless you like the smell of urine

This gym for the price is hands down a great value. Newer machines, very clean and the employees are very kind. "They like their job attitudes"! There's no frills, no gym rats that slam the weights. Everyone there respects each others space. The gym has everything you need to get in a good workout. I highly recommend them. Best times to work out are from noon till 4:00 PM

My first time coming to this gym I was greeted by the manager Autumn! She opened the door with the brightest smile and coziest welcome. She made me feel so comfortable as a first timer in the gym. She showed me around and even gave me information about what it would be like having a membership. This place has gone down hill. I did not have my key fob to scan in. Asked if they could put my phone number in. Autumn “manager” rolled her eyes and asked if i have the app. I said no. She explained how to get it and said “so have it by next time” very rudely. I said no thanks and gave her my phone number. She looked at me dumb and asked why i wont get the app. I said i have a fob just not with me and im trying to work out if she could just put my number in for today. She then refused and said im not allowed to use the gym today because of attitude. I reminded her how passive aggressive her “have it by tomorrow was”. She then said she was going to call the cops on me due to not leaving immediately. I stated im a paying member and whatever ill get the app next time to please use my phone number today. She then started to dial for the cops. Absolutely un professional. I also have worked at this exact location for 3 years prior and using phone numbers were never a problem . She said “if workers weren't at the front desk then how would i get in” i stated that she was at the desk so that wasnt even an issue for today and also why wouldnt an employee be at the desk? Would like to speak with a higher up or corporate this was absolutely insane an abuse of power.

It's a good gym and all the equipment is new and good but if you have a weekend life forget a workout. Only gym in port charlotte I know that closes at 6pm(weekend close time). Their week hours are alright closing at 11pm. Although a gym not being 24 hours is pretty uncommon now and days. It was fine to deal with when their prices were better like $10 a month but since new staff has taken over their membership has blown up in price like 60% increase.

They make it nearly impossible to cancel your account, even after you pay the annual fee and other money they try to scam you out of, they will have their law firm contact you saying you owe additional fees to try and scare you and get more money out of you. I paid 54.93 to cancel my membership and now a law firm is calling saying I owe 135 to cancel my membership. When I ask where this money is coming from and why it is so much they literally tell me “your the one who signed a contract it is your responsibility to read it” they won’t send me ANY proof where this fee has come from. I was told once I payed the 53 dollars my account would be cancel and there would be no more additional fees. I do not recommend getting an account with these people or trusting them with ANY financial information. You can read the MANY other reviews about this same issue. The worst worst experience I have EVER been through to cancel a membership.

9/5/24: Gym has, thankfully, provided us paper towels again after days without. They are the cheapest paper towels you can buy and are similar to the ones you might find in a school (basically thin cardboard that doesn’t absorb anything), but they’re better than dirty, reused cloths.

9/4/24: Gym has stopped purchasing paper towels for gym goers to wipe down the machines after use. Instead, management has decided to use a dirty, unsanitary microfiber that everyone uses over and over again. Imagine wiping down your machines with other people’s sweat. Disgusting!!

Treadmills were replaced with matrix which has no fan, no video screen. Three small TVs on a wall that you can barely make out what’s happening on them when you’re on a treadmill on the second row from the wall. Temperatures are usually high above 70°. Occasionally you’ll get a 69° Which is still warm but much better especially if it’s hot outside. Would be nice if they got a couple of 10 to 12 foot ceiling fans to move the air. Took away the knee raise machine and put in a laydown and your stomach and show my butt off machine that most women won’t use. Even the men complain about how hard it is to use laying on your stomach. Other than that, it’s nice. It’s kept exceptionally clean and if people would use the sanitizer and wipe down their machines after they’re done it would even be better! Thanks for keeping the machines working.

Like a good majority of other reviewers here I canceled my membership (in person) at this gym well over 2 years ago, and just found out through my bank statements that they are apparently still charging my card the annual club fees. If you do not want to be randomly charged club fees to a bank card that they keep saved into their computer, even years after you cancel your membership, then DO NOT join this gym!!! I will be filing a complaint for embezzlement of funds from the saved card information of their customers.

This is sad excuse for a gym that has no problem charging your account after cancelation which you will read time and time again on their reviews. Crooks that say one thing and do another. No accountability or support when customers have questions they just pass the blame. Do not trust them with your personal info. The gym itself is rundown and smells, equipment is all very basic. Showers and bathrooms are disgusting, spent 2 weeks needing to use showers while my house was being repaired and not once during that time were they cleaned. There are way better options in Port Charlotte for the same price where your membership matters and you can trust the billing department.

Great atmosphere. Lots of machines and free weights. Great price, and I like that I can bring a friend in to workout for free!
My only negative is that there is little to no gym etiquette when it comes to the customers. This isn't a slight against the gym, but the people here have no issue just inviting themselves into my sets, when I'm clearly using the weights or machines! I ALWAYS ask anyone near any machine or weight I'm going to use if anyone is using it before I use it.

I really enjoy working out at this gym! It checks all of my boxes for what I look for in a gym facility. It’s clean, not overly crowded, the members clean the equipment, lots of machines and free weights, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I also haven’t seen one person with a tripod filming themselves and others while working out, which is another plus! I highly recommend checking this gym out.

I took my 1st class with Devon yesterday! I was terrified! I originally gave this place 5 stars, but I ended up canceling my membership. They were bought out during the past few years and made changes. The stars I left are for friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the place, but I deducted because of the lack of equipment. I used the machines because they're easier for me as I have previous injuries. There was often a problem with machines not working, but you could just hop onto another. Hard to do that now, though, because they drastically reduced the number of machines they have to try to make room for other things (not necessarily a bad thing).

Got the 3day trial pass. After several texts of “when are you coming” scheduled a Monday after work. Walked in, asked me my phone number, and said you’re set.. wander around. I asked about the classes that come with Premium + and was shown a HIIT schedule I could take a picture of. There were no other classes. No one showed me around or where this class could even be held in the place. I lasted 15 mins on the elliptical and left. The 3 staff at the front desk said zero….busy looking at computer screens….

I came to port Charlotte to visit my brother and needed a place to workout and this place was great. The facility was great and clean. The staff was super nice and friendly greeted us with a smile every time we walked in. The machinery and workout equipment was all clean and sanitized. They have it all to have an amazing workout. Would recommend it to anybody in the port Charlotte area.

Every time I come in for a workout or a lift here, I leave feeling better. Yes it meets expectations and has plenty of excellent equipment, but that 5th star goes to the staff. 💪🏼 Sydney and Dave add to the great atmosphere of the gym, and Devin is a pro helping me with my lifts. i’m new to the gym scene, and have had an amazing time at youfit. it’s always clean, there’s a good variation of machines/equipment, and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful, especially the manager dave. i highly recommend personal training with devin. he is very encouraging and ensures i’m doing the proper form. additionally, i find most other members polite and kind. overall the gym has a comfortable and confident atmosphere. plus they play pretty good music!

I’ve been going to the Port Charlotte YouFit for several months now. I take my workouts seriously, but appreciate a laidback, friendly environment. This gym is the perfect mix of great equipment, great staff, and great atmosphere. Even when it gets busy, everyone is friendly and considerate. I lift weights, run, and row consistently and sincerely appreciate having access to all the equipment I need (well maintained/new) and super clean facilities! Highly recommend! :)

I'm here at least 3 times per week - it's large with plenty of equipment and a mostly friendly group of regulars. The staff are constantly cleaning floors and equipment (although I wish they'd give the mirrors by the Smith machines some attention). It's not glamorous, but it's a nice club with an attentive support team.
