Aatma is a great studio and I'm happy to be part of the community that I've found there. I started as an absolute beginner with no rhythm whatsoever, only knowing that I liked the music.

The instructors are very friendly and super knowledgeable. There are classes for all levels, and even open practice on Wednesday nights which is invaluable for practicing what you've learned and a little bit of mid-week fun.

I was able to learn a lot from the various levels of classes and found so much joy in being able to go out and dance!

Aatma is a great studio to begin your salsa and bachata dance journey or get more training if you have taken classes before. All the instructors are friendly and approachable and the students are incredibly kind! The studio has multiple rooms and mirrors everywhere too! There is a weekly open practice social to practice and you can come solo and practice dancing with many partners. I am very happy to a member of this dance community!

Aatma is a great place to learn a variety of Latin dance. I’ve been regularly attending for almost 3 years and have gone from not being able to dance salsa or bachata at all to a member of one of the dance teams. I even met my wife there 🙂

If Latin dance is interesting to you, give it a shot. I didn’t for a few years because of the wrong assumption that I’d need a partner and I was lazy about looking. If you are reading this review you are interested, so give it a shot and who knows maybe we’ll be on a team together someday!!!

A great and uplifting environment for learning salsa and bachata! Ive been taking classes here for a while and have learned so much. The dancing you learn here is the real deal and you’ll be able to go out and dance with anyone. The instructors are good at teaching a variety of moves along with the techniques of leading and following. These techniques take a while to absorb so don’t feel discouraged if you don’t get it after the first few classes. Dancing is a journey and Aatma makes that journey fun!

I moved from Orlando to Atlanta the beginning of 2025 and had to find an On1 salsa studio asap! Aatma was the only On1 salsa studio in town! I joined and was immediately welcomed and met by amazing people in class. The instructors are all talented; Ashwin, Kristen, Ale, Devin, Cynthia, Luna, Pam, Mike (listed in random order). I have taken privates with Pam and Ale and have gained so much knowledge and improved my technique. I also joined my first dance team ever, the Aatma Fusion Dance Team! It has been such a rewarding experience and has challenged me to grow as a dancer dramatically! Practicing, performing, and traveling with people who quickly become your friends is such a wonderful experience! Over the last few months I’ve grown so much as a dancer and will always be so grateful for the community at Aatma. Aatma will forever hold a special place in my heart and dance progression!

Did a beginners salsa class here for my birthday and it was so much fun! It ended up costing ~$25 and the instructor was super nice and helpful. We got to practice with partners and I think it’s great for anyone wanting to learn a new dance style.

They have socials on Wednesdays which peaked my interest. Overall I will be back!

I understand that teaching dance can be challenging, but I found the instructors to be dismissive and even rude. My friend and I were treated horribly from the moment we opened the door and paid for our lesson. As someone who is relatively new to dance, I was hoping for more positive reinforcement, but instead, I left feeling frustrated and undervalued.

I’ve always believed that a supportive and encouraging environment is key to growth, especially in a learning setting like dance. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. While I’ve heard good things about other instructors, the ones I worked with left much to be desired in terms of professionalism and respect.

Aatma studios is truly a happy place! I have been taking classes since March of this year and it’s become my second home it is truly the best part of my day! The community is more than welcoming and respectful. Considering I’m still in high school I have never had an uncomfortable experience at Aatma studios (other than Ashwin’s complex 301 foot patterns lol). There honestly is no better place I can recommend to start your journey in dance. The teachers there are attentive and supportive and will walk with you through the process from brand new beginners to seasoned dancers.

Aatma is my happy place. Ashwin and his team are an excellent group of instructors, well versed with breaking down complex salsa/bachata steps into simple and connected moves. I started as a beginner in 2022 and proud/humbled to say that earlier this year I performed at the Atlanta Salsa Bachata conference. All credit to the Aatma team, my class mates, and the right environment for happy learning. You also end up making great friends.

I wouldn’t think twice. Just give them a call or show up any evening. Free 1-hr Dance class on first Friday of every month at 9:30 PM, followed by a social.

I could not have found a better studio to re-start my Latin dance journey. Aatma studio and Kristen and Ashwin(the owners) foster a community that truly encourages a love for Latin dance and a sense of family. My husband and I went for the first time this past Saturday and really enjoyed our experience. My husband is typically shy about dancing in such a public setting. But after about ten mins he caught his groove and now he can’t wait to go back. My husband and I attended our first beginner salsa class last night and LOVED it! The instruction was super-clear and even beginners like us caught on right away. Stephanie's instructional dance cues were fantastic and easy to remember. I liked that each student had the choice to rotate and dance with others or dance only with their partner.
