Nice gym. Chill environment. It seemed way too much for a visitors price. Interactions with staff was awkward. Unsure if it was them or if our personalities didn’t mesh.
Happy I got to work out there, but I found out from my buddy that there was an option from another gym for $20 for a two week period for people traveling.

Great place to work out I’m new there and I’ve only been going for like three weeks. I go with my son because he’s a football player out of college recently and he’s trying to help me out but the staff is friendly and professional and equipment is great. I like the 24 hour service because I can go in whenever I get ready and exercise as long as I like you’re going to that place also convenient and close by my house

Demetrius (I hope that is correct) was so kind with explaining the gym and what it has to offer. Ricky for showing me around and talking about all the success stories everyone has had. I like that it was smaller than a typical gym. Everyone is local so no being uncomfortable but right at home. I unfortunately did not join only because I couldn’t do the 3 month commitment due to moving soon. If I wasn’t moving I would be there every day.

I caught American Fitness charging my credit card after I cancelled my membership. Also had other fraudulent charges to my card after I quit their gym.

Thank you for demonstrating your complete lack of honor and integrity. You know that I walked into the gym that morning to hand in my keycard and cancel my membership as I had moved from the area.

I literally walked in the gym, asked for the associate, handed over my keycard, and explained that I needed to terminate my membership as I had moved. Why do you feel the need to lie about that?

You charged me for another month and a late fee despite the fact that I had moved and wasn’t using the gym. I agreed to pay and promptly handed my card to the worker.

The issue arose when the young man refused to provide me an invoice. He asked me to sign his iPad without first providing an invoice or confirmation of charges and I refused. I simply asked that he send me an invoice or confirmation and he wouldn’t do it.

I’m not going to sign something without some type of confirmation of what I’m signing. NO reputable company would ask you to blindly sign for a debit/credit transaction without a sales receipt or invoice.

After he refused to send an invoice, I then offered to pay in cash but the young man refused to accept a cash payment. After he refused to send me an invoice or take cash, I then told him that he could sign for the transaction but that I wouldn’t do it without confirmation of what I was signing.

So, not only are you lying about my membership cancellation, but you are also lying regarding me threatening your staff. That is a despicable bald-face lie! Neither of us so much as raised our voices or threatened each other.

Furthermore, I agree that your policy regarding profile pictures is reasonable. I was asked several months ago to take a profile picture by your staff member and I calmly explained that I didn’t want to submit my biometric data due to security concerns. After your staff member insisted that the profile picture was necessary, I said that I understood and that I would leave the gym. After explaining that I would leave, your staff member offered to compromise by using my photo id as my profile picture. I agreed and that was the end of that.

There was no arguing, anger, or raised voices in this exchange. I wasn’t upset in the slightest and neither was the staff member. Why would you allow me to continue a membership for months if I was uncivil or threatening your staff member? It doesn’t even make sense.

Also, there were no threats made the day I cancelled my membership. Neither of us so much as raided our voices towards each other. I calmy stated that I would leave a poor review for poor service. That is not a threat. I actually wasn’t even going to leave a review until I saw that you falsely accused me of breaking rules and are continuing to charge my account a month after I left your gym.

I liked going to this gym. Used to go 5 days a week, but then it got really cold, and after continuous requests to have the heat on and higher than 57 degrees, I just stopped going. When it's 11 degrees outside at 0600 in the morning, the least you can do is have the heat at 68... Now for the hot weather, the gym is eternally hot and smells of body odor because the door is open so the air is off. When it feels nice outside, that is only applicable to outside. When you have an enclosed room with several people working out, body temperature tends to raise the temperature in the room. Combine that with sweat, and you have a rather unbearable experience. When the owner leaves the gym in the day time, rest assured the air is turned off. Hot and miserable are the only words I can use to describe this experience. I have asked for heat and air and all I get are excuses. Can't work out outside because it's to hot, can't work out inside at the gym because it's too hot and smelly. Really? This place is convenient to my home, and I have a family membership...Not sure what I am paying for but I will say, this is the second time I have supported a minority owned gym in my area, and both establishments operate the same way. Too cold in the winter time and too hot in the summer time. What's a girl to do?
