This blend of Yoga, Tai Chi, somatic body work is very unique and has proven scientific evidence of improving health and well-being. It is rooted in Korean history and is profoundly effective considering that Korea has one of the best health systems in the world. It helped me with chronic fatigue, chronic pain, blood pressure, glucose levels, and mode improvements, etc. This is not to mention a truly dedicated staff to building a strong sense of “beloved community”. The offerings and the services and level of care provide for a great value for money ( i.e. invaluable)

I absolutely love the masters / teachers at Body & Brain who lead our Tai Chi and Qigong practice. What you put into the practice is truly what you’ll get out of it, and I’m thrilled to continue on this path. The universe was speaking to me and somehow I came upon Body and Brain Tai Chi. I love the classes and the practice- it's something the masters ask of you every day. If you commit, you will feel your body and brain become one. Through the tapping, patting and stretching of my body, I can feel my body's organs wake up and my mind growing clearer. I've been a member for over a month now and it's the best thing I've ever done.
Every class is unique and focused. But it's the Monday class, Intestine and Core Health, that get's to the depths of your organs. After this class, you can truly feel your gut and intestines loosening up. It's an amazing workout and the one I most look forward to. All the classes are invigorating.
There are 3 Masters that have crafted this practice and they are with you all the way with more support than you can imagine. Master Brian, Master Julia, and Master Lakshmee have your health's best interest at heart. They have created a safe and kind community for their students where anyone and any age is welcome. Is inspiring to see the connections. You will not be disappointed!

This practice is truly magical, and I feel so grateful to have found it. I joined in April 2024, and from the very beginning it felt like coming home. The Masters who guide the classes are not only deeply knowledgeable but also so kind, gentle, and encouraging. The community itself is filled with warmth and openness, which makes every class a place where you can just be.
Since starting, I’ve experienced healing on so many levels. Physically, it has helped ease my chronic back pain. Mentally and spiritually, it has guided me on my journey of asking “Where do I belong?” and here, I finally feel I have found a path that is right for me and truly meant to be.
Alongside the regular classes, there are also workshops that give you the chance to deepen your practice together with others, sharing and growing as a community. And for an even more profound experience, they offer week-long retreats, like extended workshops, that allow you to step away from daily life, go deeper within yourself, and feel even more connected with others on the same path.

I joined Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi at Buckhead almost a year ago. At the beginning, my busy mind had a hard time relaxing - as I was stretching and doing Qigong movements, I was mentally multitasking: solving problems, responding to work emails, and mentally crafting a new project I was going to take on.
Gradually, I found myself being more present during each practice. It may have started with chatter in my head, but eventually, my mind cleared, and I became more intentional and ‘in the flow’ with each movement. This mental clarity spilled into my work and personal life - the answers to solving complex problems came with ease, each conversation became more intentional, and connections became deeper and more meaningful.
The Tai Chi teachings along with Master Brian and Master Lakshmi's wisdom have guided me through challenging times. I feel genuinely grateful to my friend who introduced me to this amazing practice and these remarkable teachers at Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi.

This is a really spectacularly effective comprehensive holistic, eastern martial art/health practice that trains you in flexibility, movement/physical health, mental health, meditation and healing. It is exactly what I needed to heal my myofascial pain syndrome that did not respond to western medical interventions. Body & Brain has earned my highest recommendation. I would recommend this practice for anyone who is stuck in Ineffective western medicinal and interventional treatments for conditions such as fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, chronic musculoskeletal or joint pain, and especially stress related medical conditions.

I started going to Body and Brain Buckhead in August hoping it would provide structure to my day and ease adjustment to retirement...I take in person classes 5 days a week...provided I am in town...3 months in...I believe it was the best thing I did...it has been wonderful for both my body and brain...in addition it has given me a new community....I cherish the friendships and acquaintanceships I have acquired there... I have enjoyed body and brain buckhead so much that I have already introduced three of my close friends to it...and continue doing so...
I could not recommend Body and Brain Buckhead more strongly to people of all ages...I am 78.5 years old and plan on continuing classes till 88..and may be longer...while also trying to teach some basics to my 11 year old grand son...

My experience working with Lakshmi has been amazing. She is soooo very knowledgeable about healing! I am 75 years old and have several issues. Pain gets really bad and she has the ability to make me pain free at the end of our session.

It has now been 3 years, and I love this practice more than ever. Everything from my original review below has stood the test of time, which is saying a lot. I have never stuck with a practice or a center of Yoga & Tai Chi (or any kind of fitness and well-being) for this long. That is because this practice continues to deliver real life results no matter what state of mind or body I am in. I highly recommend Body & Brain to anyone looking to improve their energy, vitality, happiness, flexibility, fitness, and over all well-being.
I started practicing at the Buckhead location of Body and Brain Yoga almost nine months ago. It's rare to find something in life that is exactly what it claims to be. Body and Brain Yoga is just such a rare find. All of the principles of energy and healing that they teach are what I have been personally experiencing to be true in my own body as I have been using the practice to help me heal from surgery and a lot of life stress. I have been amazed at how this practice has met me at every step of the way right where I was and gave me exactly what I needed at that time. I have never felt pressured, only lovingly supported, by the practice and the Master teachers who have helped me to strike a balance between challenging myself and honoring where I was at that moment. The classes and the one on one instruction are excellent. I do not want to imagine my life without this practice. How I feel now after nine months at Body and Brain is like the difference between Pinocchio the wooden toy and Pinocchio the real boy. The increased aliveness, freedom, energy, strength, flexibility, balance, and joy that I am experiencing in my body and my life is a huge improvement from how I felt when I started. I joined Body and Brain Yoga 18 years ago in desperation after a nine year illness . After a year of consistent practice and the sincere caring and healing sessions by the Masters at the Buckhead Center, my health was restored.
The practice has given me so much more than physical health. It has given me inner strength, focus, brightness, and hope. And, as a teacher of children and adults, it has also given me tools to guide and help others.
During this pandemic, the on line classes have given a framework to my days as well as company and love to me and to our "family" of practitioners.

Body & Brain Yoga and Tai Chi saved my life...it found me at a time when I was lost and looking for my purpose in life, but I didn't event know that I was at the time. My first experience was an introductory session with Master O in the Marietta Center. She laid me down flat on the ground, and placed her hand firmly on my heart, and I started weeping hysterically. She told me that I have an immense amount of unprocessed sadness that I needed to heal, and that she could help me do that. I was instantly hooked. I said - sign me up for everything. I need all of the healing.
So I have been a member for over a year now...and I can easily say that Body & Brain is my safe space. Not only the Marietta Center, but the Buckhead Center and even the Decatur Center. When you join Body & Brain, you literally gain a community of people who want nothing more than the betterment of humanity, for you to realize your personal power, and for you to meet your true self and to fulfill your lives purpose.
With Body & Brain, there are many different levels that you can participate - which I think is beautiful. You can simply be the person that comes to class after work, to destress and stretch, and to feel better. This is the lowest level of involvement, and it in itself is so significant because this reaches the masses. Ultimately, that is the goal of this practice. The reach the masses and help them cope with everyday life. However, if you want to dive deeper, that is when it really gets beautiful. There are so many workshops, classes, and private sessions you can participate in.
What I love is that you get to decide your level of involvement. And that can change from day to day. However, when you learn the principles of this energetic work, it is hard to turn your back on them. At the end of the day, it is about taking care of your body, mind and soul. I had never been anywhere that addressed all three at once. I can say without a doubt, that this is the most holistic practice that is physically challenging, mentally stimulating and spiritually enlightening. I would recommend it to any human, no matter their age, race or sex. This is a community of humans who want to be healthy, to spread positive energy, and to heal the human race....one human at a time.

My first class, 14 years ago, felt very different from the yoga I had done before, but I kept going. After 3 classes I started sleeping and feeling significantly better. By the fourth week I was feeling so much more calm, clear, and energized that I signed up for a 3 month membership and for one of their weekend intensives. From then on began a journey of amazing awakening and transformation. I have been going through a challenging time in my life emotionally and with my overall well-being for the last three years. I have tried many different modalities of healing prior to making the best phone call I could have made for myself. I had heard that tai Chi was effective in healing, in different ways than Western medicine. I decided I would try it for myself back in July 2021. I called and spoke with Master Lakshmi who was comforting, supportive and had indescribable encouragement. I set up an appointment to meet with her. In meeting with her I felt understood, validated and welcome. There were no questions left for me. I made up my mind to commit for myself a membership at body and brain. I was one of those people that thought yoga was for everyone else and in Buckhead it’s a lot of young moms and fitness buffs etc that go to the yoga studios and at my age I didn’t want to try anything new, but I knew I had to do something to help with the excruciating pain I was experiencing. All of the Masters are extremely knowledgeable and truly care about your whole being- your body & brain and teaching you how to care for and love yourself. Learning is made fun and you go at your own pace and they want you to feel comfortable with what you are doing. The classes are wonderful and each one is different and each Master teaches something new everyday and Friday’s are my FAVORITE because you get to let everything out and re- energize your brain, your gut and your body. I came to Body and Brain searching for a new way meditate. I knew that the method of sitting still in one place was just not working for me. Since I joined I have learned to quiet my mind through movement. I'm more at peace, calm, and better able to make decisions. In the process I had the unexpected and pleasant outcome of my body healing in ways I did not know were possible. My energy has increased, my circulation has visibly improved to the point that my extremeties are warmer, my range of motion is greater, my strength/cofidence in what my body can do has increased, and annoying aches and pains I had learned to live have all but disappeared. I had already been doing Yoga, Pilates, and Gyrotonics with some success, but I found them difficult and injury prone. What I liked about B&B is that the exercises could be as easy or hard as your body needed them to be, but I experienced healing not injury. Great place! I have been coming to this location since I moved to Atlanta 6 months ago but have been more consistent in these last few months. I was looking for something more than just the traditional yoga classes that focus more on holding positions. Honestly I came here for the Tai Chi classes and instead got so much more! This particular type of yoga focuses more on energy, healing and removing blockages in your body which means you have to focus on self, not always easy but necessary. The classes were perfect timing as I had lost my mom in law & uprooted a business. I was dealing with a lot and over this short time I am not heavy I have more clarity and direction and I am learning to slow down my brain and listen more to my body. I love this place!!! The masters here are awesome very friendly and concerned about your growth and well being. All the classes are wonderful and highly recommend, I do enjoy the Tai Chi classes even though my form is not quite there yet you leave feeling relaxed, clear and I can actually feel my blood flowing through my body from some of the classes LOL!! The Buckhead Dahn Yoga studio is just what I needed. I’m an older woman and was beginning to worry about flexibity and balance. This center gives me the stretching and balance exercises my body craves. I’ve been here a few months and already people are commenting on my improved posture. I believe in the mind-body connection they emphasize in their approach. I also enjoy the warm, accepting, non-competitive ethic taught here, so people of all ages practice side by side at their own ability levels.

I started going to Body & Brain earlier this summer and I can honestly say it has changed my life, both physically and mentally. I have vastly improved my flexibility, strengthened my core, and have learned how to incorporate meditation into my day. All of which has helped me bring my life into better balance.
Classes are lead by either Master Brian or Master Lakshmi and both are wonderful instructors. They are patient and kind, for sure, but they also encourage students to challenge themselves. And, I love that there is a mix of physical exercise and meditation in the classes. Any stress I’ve brought with me into class is always replaced by a sense of peace as I walk out the door.

I am a relatively new student at Dahn Yoga (Buckhead). I had wanted to try Tai Chi for a number of years, and I recently signed up for classes here. I am so impressed with the quality of teaching and classes offered. No matter how large the classes might be, I feel I get a lot of individual attention (for example, I am often given "homework" to do that is geared toward my own particular needs). I have done yoga throughout my adult life, but this is different - a wonderful combination of stretching, breathing, strength building, and meditation. I leave class feeling the physical benefits, but also with a sense of well-being that stays with me throughout the day. I recently joined Body and Brain Buckhead. I was looking for a Tai Chi experience and stumbled into the Buckhead location. What a fortunate misstep! From the moment I walked in Master Brian and Master Lakshmi have treated me like family. I get greeted at the door by name. They remembered that I had a schedule difficulty, welcomed me back and on and on. This was not what I was looking for but much much more. I had a personal session with Master Brian for evaluation. He recommended a class schedule. I signed up for 10 classes. After a week I signed up for 3 months and a workshop. The exercise, stretching and recovery classes are perfect. The Tai Chi is my favorite. During class I always seem to get some personal attention. My limitations are not an obstacle but an opportunity. There are all levels of student in the class. Lastly, I was worried that I might not "fit in" with the students. Wrong. There are all age groups. And everyone is super nice. Couldn't ask for a better crowd.

We do good physical workout but it's more about learning and practicing to discipline the brain in becoming a tool to support life and what we want out of it. Every time I try to explain the difference in Dahn Yoga (aka Body and Brain Yoga) and other places I always end up just saying “you have to just experience the difference”. I have yet to find a way to truly convey it with words. But I will try here… When I first started I had never really exercised and was a bit self-conscious about it. I have been to numerous other yoga places and felt uncomfortable with the “no pain no gain”, everyone is already so fit, quick templated moves environment. At Body and Brain, none of this exists. People dress comfortably in loose-fitting clothes, t-shirts. All ages, genders, and body types of people are there and the vibe is to feel better when you leave rather than to get your daily work out and look hot. The center and the founder have philosophies as any type of yoga does. Although I have never been the mind-body, metaphysical, meditation type person, just about every one of their philosophies has ended up improving my mind and/or body in ways I have never been able to accomplish talking to my doctors or that would have taken years to figure out meditating or reading. And the actual stretching - it is different, the flow and energy you feel is unlike any other yoga place I have been too. There are very few things (if any) I can think of that I would recommend higher in any area of life than visiting and experiencing these differences and the many many more.

Over the years, I've taken many YOGA classes in other centers, and in other cities. I have never felt so relaxed and empowered spiritually, mentally, and physically, by participating for only a few months in the Brain & Body Buckhead Center's classes, workshops, and one-on-one sessions. Through this particular training you learn to become very in tune with your body, and your mind. Most occasions, I feel better after class, than if I had a full body massage, or vacation at the beach, lake, or mountains. It is a shift that occurs through guided meditation and gentle movement. I can not say enough good things about this Center, Master Brian, and Master Lakshmi. I encourage everyone to try it!

Going to Dahn Yoga has been a wonderful experience for both mind and body. The exercises vary daily so there's never any risk of getting bored with the classes. They combine a healthy mix of physical activity to help mend sore areas of the body with rigorous stretching while providing ample time to begin the arduous process of learning to silence your mind as you get deeper and deeper into meditation. You'll feel a difference within the first class, and continued attendance will result in continued positive changes in both your mind and body.
And while all of the daily classes are great, I am partial to instructor Lakshmi's Friday classes where she, in no certain terms, encourages us to dance as if no one is watching. She's a capable DJ as she plays songs from the 80s and 90s and encourages you to abandon the stress of the past week and just dance.

I try to do a class at Body and Brain as often as I can, usually 3 times a week, but I would love to do more! Every class is a joyous experience! I leave feeling so much ease and joy! Body & Brain Yoga is an awesome experience. Admittedly, the first time I went I thought "Sure Ma, l'll go with you to this class, just this once." I was 14 or 15 years old then. Now I'm 22 years old and I keep returning.
The class offers you the opportunity to tap into your body and minds own power to heal, yourself and by extension others; while simultaneously becoming a more peaceful, centered, and happy person. Every time you leave you feel a great weight lifted off of your shoulders. You can literally feel the work your doing in yourself. The instructors are great people as well. They are all very open and considerate folks that are more than willing to guide you on the path to becoming the most healthy and happy person you can be. Just when I thought I was a lost cause in my journey to inner peace I see Dahn Yoga while running errands and decide to walk in. I was greeted by Kristen, whose eyes are as powerful as her belief in you.
I distinctively remember Master Brian sitting near while I spoke to Kristen. Even through my rambling, they understood me. Master Brian pointed out that my breathing would be something I should invest time into. Which surprised me and won me over right away since it had been such an issue while meditating for me.
The whole team is great at what they do, and just speaking to them, or being in their presence, you will just gain this power for yourself. They are my morning inspiration!
I have many obstacles - blockage, pain, discomfort, anger, and my past. Coming to classes a few times a week helps me in remembering that time heals all wounds, and that it is okay to cry. It is also okay to let your guard down, and tell people you love them without any obligations or pain tagged along with it.
I am very excited to see the enlightened woman I become over this next year, and many more to come on my journey to inner peace that is not going to be walked through alone.

I first became aware of Body & Brain yoga through the Brochure left on my car's windshield at the place of my employment...it mentioned "Yoga, T'aichi, Stress reduction, Energy training and Brain education"
To me, who was working 70+ hours a week, having 3 children, 5 grandchildren and busy home life, that "wave your stress away" spoke to me loudly !
I joined the class over 10 years ago and learned and experienced how to become aware of my own energy to heal my body and take part in my own health. My goal, in the beginning, was not only to learn how to de-stress myself but to be able to join in my grandchildren's "baseball game" and to run around with them...to be agile, flexible, strong and be able to have stamina and endurance...I am glad to say that throughout the years, I have made great improvements on all of those. Through various informative programs, i learned how and what I needed to do to bring about self-healing and to stay healthy. My seasonal illnesses which I used to suffer are gone and I can truly say that I have abundant energy and am experiencing good health.

The instruction is given in a very caring way and I have experienced great improvement in my physical and mental well being. They address the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of health and healing through yoga, tai chi, and other disciplines. To describe my Dahn Yoga experience thus far in three words would be: immsense personal growth. I have noticed improvements in my flexibility, relaxation, stress-management and appetite control, but the biggest positive change I've observed is the lessening of my anxiety. My mind runs at a million miles per minute, and I've used medication for 10 years to lessen its intensity and speed. Practicing Dahn Yoga is teaching me to heal and control my anxiety from within through a journey of self-awareness and self-acceptance, a far more powerful and long-term method than medication has ever proven to be. I feel safe and free here; the principles, teachings, and trained yoga Masters cultivate an environment that allows me to express my emotions with pure honesty and find clarity within my many thoughts and confusion. And what an experience I am having. July 1, 2014 was the introductory class. I signed up for 3 months to give myself time to "check it all out." I began this new journey on July 7, 2014. After 2 weeks I extended my membership for 1 year.
Dahn Yoga Buckhead is giving me the gift of "movement." The principles Dahn Yoga Buckhead teaches through movement has given me the opportunity to meet my own self in a space that I have never given it before. It is offering me a new respect for my own voice within. The teaching is simple and easy to follow. The space is inviting and friendly. my experience with Dahn Yoga has been life changing. it has been helping me work through some deep traumatic experiences. At first I was expecting regular yoga or some meditation to calm oneself.. although it is those things... it is much more than that. Dahn yoga has been literally waking my body up from all the stored emotions and stress that has been blocking my body and my mind. I can breathe better, I can think better, (or should I say less), my emotions aren't as controlling as they used to be. my anger is more controlled, I am loving and respecting myself more than ever, I feel more at peace, more centered and grounded. I can feel this stable ground beneath me getting stronger everytime I show up for class... it was this stable ground that I was lacking in my life. I felt hopeless, lost, small, meaningless, and powerless. Dahn yoga and the teachers at Dahn yoga Buckhead are not only encouraging me... but they are giving me tools that can change the way I think and feel about my reality. I feel empowered, strong, sustained. I feel like I can actually keep going in my life instead of feeling tired and wonder when it all will be over so I can rest... My world is so different now. New perspectives and understandings come into my world everytime I am there. Dahn Yoga has truly been a blessing in my life. <3

I have been a member for almost three years. I have taken traditional yoga for over twenty years and have loved it. Dahn yoga has taken me and my practice to a whole other level. My flexibility is better, my breathing is deeper, and my mind is stiller. My core is stronger than ever, and progressing steadily. The Teachers and various workshops are wonderful also. I truly love the center and my fellow members. They have become my extended family. Check it out! It is truly a unique experience!
