I have been coming to B&B for about 6 months, 2-3 times a week. I have a painful arthritic right knee (among other issues) that was starting to loose full extension. The arthritis is still present but pain with movement is decreasing and range is improving. The movements can be challenging for me but not so much that I think of quitting this form. I can do this!
Thank you M Chen, for ‘seeing’ this 75 year old and guiding me toward a more capable body.

I have attended Body and Brain Yoga Tai Chi for a little over a month. I have really enjoyed my experience. As a senior I was looking for a more holistic approach to health and well-being and Body and Brain has given me that. I was going through a bout of sciatica when I initially began classes and I greatly improved after the first week or so of classes. Master Chun Mu is a wonderful instructor who makes classes challenging but fun. Classes have enhanced my mindfulness and overall well-being. I feel like I release so much stress and tension after each class. Also a very friendly and welcoming environment. So glad I found this place!!

I recently retired and have joined Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi. I am enjoying it so much because it is the answer to helping me strengthen my "core" body and feel better overall. Each session is designed to open up trapped energy throughout the body with stretching, breathing, energetic movements and relaxed concentration. Also, Master ChunMu is an extraordinary and resourceful teacher. Heart Healing “Body and Brain” Testimony
I am a 71 years young retired professor. 56 years ago, at the age of 15, I was diagnosed as having a “heart murmur.” At that time, I had participated in track and field in junior high school. I stopped. Over the decades, I paced myself and life style according to my initial diagnosis. Periodic examinations modified the diagnosis to “septum wall anomaly.”
Last year, during my annual physical in August, my primary care health professional noticed that my EKG was abnormal and recommended that I see a heart specialist. I did not do so immediately. During my mid-year assessment in February, my blood pressure had raised significantly and as erratic. I went to the specialist and underwent a series of examinations during a four months period (March – June): EKG, heart echo, thread-mill stress test, nuclear stress test, coradic artery echo.
In early March, I joined Body and Brain Yoga Tai Chi at the Decatur Center with Master ChunMu. I began practicing everyday, sometimes twice a day: “core and intestine work, flexibility and breath work, tai chi and qi gong and energy flow.” Plus, I would do my “homework” assignments both online and on my own.
During a conversation with my heart specialist in May, I was surprised and stunned when he reported to me that my heart is “normal and strong.” I asked him to repeat what he had said because I had been carrying the opposite in my own “body and brain” for 56 years, including as a result of my most recent EKG with my primary care health professional. The heart specialist repeated what he had said and added that there were no restrictions to the type of exercises I could do. Likewise, my arteries had no significant plaque accumulation or blockages. My next visits are scheduled for 6 months and 1 year from that conversation. Otherwise, the case is closed with a 56 years verdict reversed.
Subsequently, I had a televisit with my primary health care physician. We have a great conversation about the results and progress of my overall well-being. Also, I told her about my “Body and Brain” experience and practices. She said, “Keep doing it. These practices are thousands of years old and now science verifies their value. Also, it is good for stress management. Stay with it and I will see you in August.”
So, the techniques of “Body and Brain Yoga Tai Chi” have given me this heart healing testimony. And my teacher, Master ChunMu, is great. Come join us in downtown Decatur, Ga.

When I first walked into the studio, I was an overwhelmed working mom - unhealthy, struggling with depression, anxiety, regrets from recent life changes, and chronic shoulder and knee pain. I was going through serious emotional and mental turmoil and honestly didn't know what else to do.

This place is a cult. It’s gross. The amount of pressure to attend weekend long “retreats” or brain washing sessions was constant. The last class I attended was after I had once again been shamed for not attending a “retreat”. I just wanted to practice Tai Chi. So…yah..it’s a CULT! I literally get nervous just driving by the place. I can’t believe it is still open.

Wow! I walked into body and brain thinking it was going to be just another class that helps ease some muscle tension in my body and I’ll learn some cool moves and exercises. Boy was I wrong! It’s sooooo much more. Since the day I’ve been attending classes I’ve been feeling better and my life is changing. I feel better. More confident. More centered. More livelier than I felt when I first walked in. Not only is it strengthening me physically but energetically as well.
Every time I go to class I leave out feeling so much better than I walked in. The center is my place of peace. It’s such a gift to humanity. I’m not saying this just to leave a good review. This is TRUTH.

I am 73, male and was interested in finding some physical activity that was kinder to the body than running (bad knee). My wife suggested we try Tai Chi. We enrolled at Body & Brain Decatur since it was close to us. We soon learned that B&B teaches the Korean version of Qigong which includes Tai Chi movements but also emphasizes breathing, internal organ stimulation through tapping, and stretching. There is an elaborate philosophy linking chakras, energy meridians, mind and body. I am agnostic about all that, but I feel that the sessions are probably helping me stay healthier, more limber and less stressed. Master Chun Mu is a patient, encouraging teacher who always manages to incorporate some new movement or stretch into each session. The B&B Decatur studio is a comfortable, unintimidating environment. We come 3 times a week and we enjoy being in the company of other students of various ages and walks of life. Check it out, I think you will like it!

M ChunMu is an amazing teacher. I started going to these classes for grief, depression, panic, PTSD, and physical strength. I had some injuries years ago and have been sedentary in body (lots of pain) and mind for over a decade, which just made things worse. This is the only class I’ve ever taken that has made me feel better—and in just a couple of weeks. I have lots of work to do, but there isn’t anywhere else I want to do it. I trust her completely. She is kind and empathetic but does not coddle. She is careful. She takes the arts very seriously but also keeps us smiling. The energy—hers and that in the studio—is both soothing/calm and uplifting. I have tried so many types of therapy and have tried to start various classes. This one, I drive to, and I stay. I’m doing the work and I feel safe there. I feel stronger. I can’t recommend her and the studio enough. 10 stars.

There is something very special about Body and Brain Decatur both with Master Chunmu and her students. The minute you walk in the door, you can feel such a warmth in an environment rich with healing/soothing energy which so many of us need in our lives. As someone who works in the medical field, I have seen how stress kills both figuratively and literally. Body and Brain, under Master Chunmu’s guidance, teaches you how to find balance in your life and manage your own pain/stress during your own journey of healing and living life to its fullest. Master Chunmu is such a blessing - she is extremely devoted with teaching and guiding her students on how to manage their stress levels and finding harmony within your own mind, body, and soul. M Chunmu deeply cares about the wellbeing of all her students and her teachings always have a valuable lesson to learn. Plus, she has such a fun sense of humor where you can’t help but smile and enjoy yourself with her classes. You see all the smiles from everyone throughout the class while at the same time learning something new and empowering about yourself, an inner strength you didn’t realize was there before.
Personally, I feel so humbled and blessed being there. Everyone has a unique story tell and what we share with each other after class is very inspiring. When you are feeling tired and drained, Master Chunmu and the rest of the class will lift you back up with their positive attitudes/energy, support for each other, and determination. I feel compelled to add my negative experience despite the many five star reviews. I hope to prevent others from investing in an expensive annual membership and then feel trapped in a program you don't enjoy.
Master Chunmun is knowledgeable and attentive, however, her teaching style is unlike any of the 33 years of yoga practice I've done. She is very brusque in her instructions and just when I'd feel relaxed and in my own comfort zone, she frequently calls on an individual to tell how you feel or after a period of time in the practice yell out, "do you feel that?" and reprimand the class if everyone doesn't respond. (Of course we feel it. We're moving our bodies.) This practice style happened EVERY time I attended class. I've seen her laugh when a student couldn't achieve the pose or movement she had instructed. It was very annoying and stressful to attend class in such an environment. I'm a public school teacher with 31 years of experience, and I know what good teaching looks like.
Another downside of the practice is the sharing at the end of class. Masher Chun claimed it was the most important part of class once when I rolled up my mat to leave before this part of the class. I found it to be like group therapy in which I didn't want to hear or share, and I didn't appreciate being shamed for leaving when the practice was finished. Some times the sharing could extend class for15-20 minutes, which I found inconsiderate of my time only to hear how the practice benefitted each person in class that day.
Furthermore, if you are looking for Tai Chi instruction, as I was, this is not the practice for you. There is only one day a week in which Tai Chi in the traditional method with the Tai Chi poses are taught. The other classes are a lot of stretching and tapping your body, which is okay but it's not Tai Chi or Quigong.
I would suggest asking for a free trial class before you get locked into a one year membership only to find you don't care for the instruction, which was my experience. Additionally, when other instructors taught the class as substitutes for Master Chun, I enjoyed it.

Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi is truly life-changing! I came expecting to learn a new form of martial arts, but what I have found is a new version of myself. This practice is not just an activity—it is a lifestyle, a daily commitment.
In my first session with Master ChunMu, she was able to sense the emotional pain I had been carrying, simply by observing my flexibility and listening to how I described my body. Body & Brain has taught me to go deeper—to reconnect with my true self, become more aware of my emotions, and learn how to express them.
The practice has helped me become more in tune with my body, my breath, and my inner strength. I have learned to push through discomfort and experience the rewards on the other side. I have also gained insight into how our emotions manifest physically and how we have the power to make choices (without judgment) that create a healthier, more balanced environment for ourselves.

Qigong combines meditation, yoga, spirituality, morality, and the gym. Ever since I began doing Qigong at Brain and Body Yoga under Master O's tutelage. The Body & Brain program is complete and well structured, the workouts are dense and varied. I appreciate the practice of movements and the restful meditation times. The slow movements with deep regular breathing allow me to detect blockages in my body and feel the flow of energy. It's an invitation to be centered, to live in the moment and develop qualities of inner strength.
The practice of Qigong has become very important in my life, a necessary break 3 times a week. The physical and mental wellbeing sets in gradually. Husband and I have always been active, using a gym and barre three and walking regiments,and we were looking for something to take us into the future.
Well, we found it. Body and Brain .
We go to the studio in Decatur but there are many other locations . Each day has a new element and we use a few different devices that aid your body into recovery.
Right now I’m working on balance, husband is working on mindfulness to quiet his brain.
Each class brings me a sense of strength and discipline. We are very satisfied with the classes and with Master ChunMu . She interjects a lightness and happiness into each class.
The classes are for all ages and capabilities .

I’ve been attending classes at Body & Brain Decatur for 2-3 months now and already I’m experiencing big shifts in my body/mind connection, my body’s healing ability, and my subtle energies.
I initially thought I was *just* joining a tai chi class and was looking for a new way to move my body. I am pleasantly surprised to have stumbled on something much greater and impactful than I imagined. I've been attending classes here for about two years now. When I started, I called my sister and told her that I had either done something really fabulous or joined a cult. I'm happy to say that Body and Brain is NOT a cult, that it is indeed really fabulous, and that it is the place to be if you want to bring your body, brain, and life back in line with each other.
It's not always easy and you do need to stick with it, but Master ChunMu has helped me to heal decades of trauma and finally start to see what a life without constant anxiety is like. She will meet you where you are physically and help tailor the exercises so that you can keep up without hurting yourself and continue getting stronger. The community is a mix of ages, demographics, experience, and physical capability. In short, if you are serious enough to be reading online reviews I highly recommend checking it out.

Great day when I embarked at the door of Body and Brain Yoga and Tai Chi Center in Decatur Ga. That was when I met up with the center leader Master ChunMu, I shared many things with her that I was experiencing. Some of the things I shared were that I was scheduled to have knee surgery for severe bone on bone arthritis in both knees. And had endured suffering with chronic pain 24 hrs a day, due to fibromylgia for about five yrs now. On the day of my surgery it was cancelled due to the fact that my neck had locked up on me, and I had developed weakness in both arms and legs. After running some test they discovered I had cervical stenosis in my neck and two rotator cuff tears. I felt like the life force was been drained out of me at all times. I had stopped traveling and basically just stopped enjoying life to the fullest. I even had to stop working due to poor performance on the job. Working in the health field. Master ChunMu has been an absolute life saver in my life. I honor her for the excellent and tireless work she does. She cares for everyone and will go above and beyond to aid you in becoming your best version of self and health. Honestly if I was asked to rate her on a scale of ten, I would say-- Ten out of Ten Minus Nothing!
I am beginning to feel strength and energy coming back into my body, my legs are feeling stronger, my shoulders and neck feels as though they are on the mend (soo) much better and my pain level has gone way down. Thanks to the care and guidance of Master ChunMu I feel great these days.

Master Chun Mu at Body and Brain is always enjoyable. The classes help me to relieve stress and i have even tested my BP before and after and there is a significant decrease . I feel wonderful after class too. Having a mostly sedentary job my muscles become stiff and sometimes painful. These classes keep me flexible. I have such gratitude when I am participating in the wonderful flow the class provides each and every time. Though I have been practicing for over 20 years, every class feels new. Good for what ails you! Not your average body friendly, well being class. So fortunate I found this means of letting my body and brain heal from decades of stress that got stuck in my jaw and my hamstrings and places I would never have guessed. My lungs had become a storage facility for stress limiting confidence and open heartedness.

My healing journey began over a year ago. I had been looking for an alternative recovery method for my wife who was just diagnosed with FND a complex disorder that where the body is disconnected from the brain’s signals over time (limb numbness/limited movement, paralysis, staring spells, non epileptic seizures). The tough part about this condition it can be triggered and worsened by stress, pain like in my wife’s case the worst migraine of her life, and trauma to name a few. My wife who is a social butterfly started to become isolated and depressed due to her worsened condition. We received a pamphlet on our doorstep from Body and Brain yoga. I thought maybe this is a good sign sign since we had just figured out the root cause of her condition after over a year misdiagnosed and wrong medication. I was also in therapy for anxiety which had started to worsen into physical symptoms (racing heart beat, digestive issues, eye/hand twitching and insomnia) and I was looking for a way to improve my condition as well.
Fast forward to today not only did we learn from this practice mend the connection between body and brain. It became so much more than that. Within the first few months my wife so a reduction of her symptoms by 80%. I too had a similar experience with my symptoms reducing by 95% as well as weight loss and overall more positive outlook on life. For me the most rewarding thing I gained from the practice is a sense of inner peace and connection and I never really feel alone anymore. Master ChunMu’s instruction is effective, encouraging, and truly life changing. She gives the best homework and life tools for you to self love and self healing. So thankful to have found this treasure.

I started doing BNB few months back because of my chronic headaches. First few days didn’t see much different but I kept coming for regular class and also attended some private sessions along with initial awaking and energy healing classes. Since then I started noticing much difference overall in my energy levels along with better sleep pattern and my headaches frequency is also less compared to what I used to have. My wife and I began our very positive experience with Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi by taking classes two times a week. When the pandemic hit we were not certain as to what wold happen. We wanted to continue taking the classes that we enjoyed but we knew that things would be very different. Body & Brain has done a wonderful job of continuing to offer Tai Chi and it’s associated benefits. In fact we now take classes 3-4 times each week as compared to the 1-2 times a week before the pandemic. Body & Brain conducts several classes each day for 6 days a week. They also provide private classes for students who have special needs. All of this comes via Zoom sessions that are the next best thing to in-person classes.
I highly recommend Body & Brain and it;s Instructors to anyone who would like to feel better about themselves and their bodies.

My life has really improved since I started Tai Chi and Vibrations classes with the Decatur Body and Brain Yoga Tai Chi Studio. The teachers are excellent! These classes have really improved my flexibility and balance and feelings of well-being. I am in my mid-60s and had broken my leg several years ago, so these problems of flexibility and balance were magnified by that injury. Here's the great thing - when COVID-19 hit, they started online Zoom classes. SO WONDERFUL!! So right now, I am doing at least 2 classes a week via Zoom and loving it! Amazing that this works so well, but it does! It's very close to in person classes in my experience, and it has helped me continue gaining strength, flexibility, and balance. They have also recently started doing a couple of classes outside. I never would have guessed how much these classes would have improved my health and my life, and they are not expensive either.

I really dislike writing negative reviews, however I feel this one is necessary because classes like these are costly and because I believe it is important to find instruction that is trustworthy for such a personal and spiritual practice. My introductory session went so well and I was hopeful and looking forward to my classes here. After the intro, I signed on for a month (the lowest starter level possible). After my first class, I know now this place is unsuited to me. I strongly feel that a practice such as this one should happen in a place where you feel safe to share and in a trusting, nonjudgmental environment. While I enjoyed the exercise and being with the group there, we did not, I believe, actually learn Tai Chi. I dislike some of the instructor's methods enough to decide returning would be too distressing to me. During the end of the first class he invited each of us to share our thoughts about the class. One young woman asked why we shook during the class. He asked her what her goals were for this class and she responded, "Strength, flexibility, and clarity of mind." He then said, "How does that question help you to meet your goals?" He told her she could google it. I felt this response during a time in which we had been invited to ask questions and share thoughts was especially rude and belittling. The instructor also asked me before class to share my experience of meditation with him and I told him what forms of meditation I practiced. He interrupted me at one point and told me that I was not grounded enough to do the form I was describing. I have been meditating now for several decades and I choose the forms of meditation enjoyable to me and that work for me. I am also a well grounded person. One of the goals I had set at the beginning of class with him was that I wanted to increase my confidence by taking Tai Chi. I fail to see how the critical nature of this class can assist me in achieving that goal. I also came to this class to learn Tai Chi rather than overhaul my own spiritual and personal practices or to have an assessment made of them.

I knew I wanted to be physically stronger as I got further and further into my fifties, but I had no idea that I could develop so much more than my aging muscles. There has been a sleeping dragon of energy inside of me that has kept me from expressing and being my most authentic self in the world. Decatur Body and Brain is a place to awaken your body and spirit and heal all that limits you from accomplishing your soul's deepest longing. I am so grateful for the wisdom, guidance and practices that I receive from Master Jordan. The more I grow there, the more I want to grow.

This practice has been amazingly healing for me - body, brain & heart! It's a group class that feels like a personal session because I always get just what I need from class. It's what I look forward to everyday - it never feels like exercise! It is like no other form of yoga I've practiced and it's always a fun and gentle learning experience. I have truly enjoyed every minute of my experience at Body & Brain Yoga and Tai Chi Decatur... even mastering Sleeping Tiger!! Jordan is a wonderful teacher and I feel blessed to have met him and began my practice with him. I am more at peace and I feel amazing! He has taught me to live less in my head, which is a struggle, but worth the fight for a more calm and loving self.
I hesitate to write this as I am selfish and like the small classes with more 1:1 attention, but when you have a good thing, you must share it!!

This practice, is yoga, tai-chi and Qigong in one. It is fun, deeply impactful and life changing. It relieves all my stress, literally years of stress and allows me to feel centered, focused and alive. In just one class, I felt more happy, more energized and completely relaxed. The kind of relaxed you are when on vacation. This is Mind Blowing, - I have done yoga for years, this takes it to another level. DONT WASTE ONE MORE SECOND- JUST GO!
