Being new to the area, it has been a challenge trying to find a new yoga studio. I’m also from the west coast where hot yoga studios typically run from 105-115 degrees, and I’ve been practicing yoga for about 17 years. So it was a surprise to move down here and find many hot yoga studios kept their rooms at 90-95 degrees (no Yogitoes needed 😭). I realize I am very picky about yoga studios and tried several studios and couldn’t find a good match, until Ember. I was hesitant at first because it’s 30 minutes away (no traffic) and close to an hour with traffic.
My first class was Vinyasa with Lindsay on a Saturday morning-so it was very crowded! But the class was amazing! The room was nice and hot (100-103) and her teaching style was so great and very grounding. It was very Baptiste style, which I love! I went on to take other teachers’ classes and they were all very good (Jessi Rae, Jesse Greener, Natalie, Meredith) Tons of variety in vinyasa teaching styles including Ashtanga, prana flow, and power flow. Membership pricing is fair and comparable to other hot yoga studios. They keep the hot room about 95-105, which is warm/hot but not too hot. I noticed that although the temperature in the room is not as hot as I’m used to, there’s a lot more cardio in the flows and as a result, creating a lot more internal heat, and I don’t find myself missing the extreme heat as much. They also offer cold towels with essential oils on them (haven’t had those since pre-covid!), which is a nice treat at the end of class. I took a couple of hathas, which were also good. Very traditional, solid sequences with no music. The front desk gals are always so nice and sweet. The studio is nice and spacious with three showers in women’s room.
Being a RYT yoga instructor myself, I am so impressed with the level of instructors here. Everyone seems to have such a strong foundational knowledge of the asanas and I appreciate the different teaching styles as it offers good variety. The teachers are also good at walking the room and not staying stagnant on a mat. I’m so glad I found a new home studio. Weekends are great because minimal traffic, but weekdays are more challenging to catch a class. I just wish they had a second studio closer to Marietta. But they offer tons of classes all throughout the day from early morning to evening, which is also amazing (I saw some studios only offered 3 classes in a day 😳). And honestly, sometimes a good yoga class is worth the drive!

Meredith's Pilates class is amazing! Best way to start your Saturday morning - followed by the farmers market right across the street.
The workout is intense but mixed with good vinyasa stretching to build you up for the next set.

Ember is an amazing studio with so much to offer. The studio itself is gorgeous and always very clean, I love how everything is so beautiful, even the showers!! The ladies up front are very friendly. All the instructors are top notch and I love how they have heated and non-heated classes. They offer SO MANY classes every day you can almost always squeeze one into your schedule AND they offer livestreams of most classes so you can even get a flow in at home. The membership is ABSOLUTELY worth it!

As I move into my tenth year an Ember Yoga, I would like to thank Margaret for her excellent management skills in making this an ideal place to practice , meditate , and concentrate - on self improvement. The teachers have always been caring, professional, and dedicated to bringing a true yoga experience to every class. A special thank you to my teachers ranging from 2015 to 2025: Hot Sequence; Jeff, Alice, Joe and now Sandy - amazing! Hot Vinyasa, Jessi and Lindsey, and Meditative VF, Michele.
Thank you all for making the journey worthwhile.

Recently attended a puppy yoga event at Ember Yoga, which was supposed to support Ruff Rescue. However, my experience was profoundly disheartening and has left me deeply concerned about the welfare of the animals involved.
From the moment I stepped into the studio, I was struck by the unbearable heat. The temperature was an alarming 90 degrees, creating a stifling and uncomfortable environment for everyone present. The doors were open but the outside temp was 89 degrees and sunny. Proper airflow was definitely lacking and this environment can be controlled with turning down the thermostat or hosting this event elsewhere.
What was even more concerning was the lack of adequate water available for the dogs. These poor animals were clearly struggling to cope with the heat, and it wasn't long before their distress became evident. I even purchased a Smart Water just to provide cold water for the dogs and have receipts to prove it. The volunteers seemed unprepared and lacked urgency for these poor animals.
Throughout the class, I witnessed several dogs showing signs of extreme discomfort. Some of them even looked faint from the heat and lack of hydration. It was heartbreaking to see these animals, who were supposed to be the stars of the event, suffering so visibly. To make matters worse, the volunteers assisting with the event appeared to be poorly trained and were mishandling the dogs. Their inexperience and rough handling only exacerbated the animals' distress, turning what should have been a joyful and therapeutic experience into a nightmare. The volunteers at the doors by the outside kept moving the dogs away from the outside air flow and in the center of the studio, which is the hottest part. On top of that, these volunteers were on their phones the entire time. My husband and I were shocked and couldn't believe this.
I felt compelled to raise my concerns with Naedra, the organizer of the event. However, when I approached her to discuss the issues, she completely ignored my concerns and walked away without offering any explanation or solution. Her dismissive attitude was not only unprofessional but also indicative of a deeper problem: a blatant disregard for the well-being of the animals.
It's clear to me that proper care for the animals was severely lacking at this event. The welfare of the dogs should have been the top priority, but it was painfully evident that this was not the case. Events like these are meant to promote joy and well-being for both participants and animals, but the lack of consideration for the animals' needs turned it into a distressing ordeal.
This experience has left me deeply disappointed in Ember Yoga. I hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary changes to ensure that animal welfare is prioritized in future events. Until then, I cannot in good conscience recommend this studio to anyone, especially those who care about the treatment of animals.
Animal welfare is not something that should ever be compromised, and I urge Ember Yoga to take immediate action to rectify these serious issues. Your studio is controllable and the internet exists. Next time, google proper temperatures and treatments for puppies before hosting this event. Or better yet, turn down the thermostat!
*Reply to Owner’s Response: Thanks for providing your perspective on the recent puppy yoga event at Ember Yoga (despite you not even being there to witness it). I appreciate the explanation, but I'm concerned about the conditions observed and experienced during the class. Your staff even failed to take responsibility when issued raised. While proceeds were donated to Ruff Dog Rescue, the involvement of the police officer is now under investigation due to the current videos and photos acting as supporting evidence of everything my husband and I stated. Transparency and addressing these issues are crucial, especially regarding animal welfare. Despite good intentions, the animals' well-being must always be the top priority, and any shortcomings should be acknowledged and rectified.

My wife and I recently attended a "puppy yoga" class at Ember Yoga, which was held in collaboration with Ruff Dog Rescue. We were excited about the concept, but our experience was extremely disappointing and concerning.
Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that the dogs were suffering from the heat. With the temperature outside at 86 degrees, 91 degrees inside and the humidity at 104, the indoor conditions were unbearable for any small pup. The lack of air conditioning exacerbated the situation, causing the dogs to pant heavily and seek any semblance of cool air near the doors. However, the staff from Ruff Dog Rescue were blocking these exits, preventing the dogs from getting any relief. The volunteers were also on their phones not doing anything to give the dogs any cool water. When we asked them if the dogs needed water, they said “I don’t know,” and try to hand us a lethargic dog to solve the issue.
The situation was further aggravated by the insufficient access to water for the dogs. My wife and I had to step in and buy cold water bottles to help cool them down. Despite our efforts to highlight the distress of the animals to the head of the organization, our concerns were dismissed with a nonchalant remark about the doors being open.
This disregard for the well-being of the animals is unacceptable and, frankly, amounts to animal cruelty. We left the class feeling disgusted and disheartened by the lack of care shown towards the dogs. The collaboration between Ember Yoga and Ruff Dog Rescue should prioritize the health and comfort of the animals, but sadly, this was not the case.
We urge Ember Yoga and Ruff Dog Rescue to reconsider their practices and ensure that future events provide a safe and comfortable cool environment for the animals, and not just open the doors with little to no water. Until then, we cannot recommend this experience to anyone.

Can’t even begin to tell you what this place has done for my health and fitness! I am now a regular attender of classes driving further than probably most to this studio, and it never disappoints. I have had multiple teachers and enjoy all of the various knowledge they bring. The studio is so clean and all of the staff has been nothing but welcoming. My body in just a short amount of time is stronger and more mobile. And I feel great and love the challenge classes bring. One of my favorite comments that’s consistent throughout instructors is they care about the quality/purpose of what you are doing.
Lena is a personal favorite of mine ! Thanks Ember.

Too bad I couldn’t give zero stars. Attended the hot sequence 26 + 2 class with Alice. The studio and class itself were nice, but was totally shocked by the rude and aggressive behavior that was projected by Alice.
My friend and I had to leave the class five minutes early, shouldn’t be a problem if done quietly and respectfully. This was DURING the transition to savasana where no one is in a deep meditative state anyway, and there was nothing stating that you weren’t allowed to leave early. To give context we were in the back of the class quietly packing up and would have slipped out without disturbing anyone else.
Instead, Alice decided to make a scene and ask to never bother coming to another class and that we ruined the energy for the entire class by exiting just five minutes early. She was in no position to act in such a way. She escalated the situation for no reason. She is not professional or kind and I’ve never had such an unwelcoming experience in my whole life of attending yoga classes. Her energy is aggressive and is not an asset to the studio; if anything she takes away from the “zen” that you’re supposed to feel.
Yoga is about doing what’s best for you and your body and not being judgmental or harsh. God forbid you have to take a break or go to the restroom because she’d probably throw your mat out the door. Totally unprofessional, and far from “enlightened”. Very cold energy from her and she definitely ruined the vibe.

Don’t go to this place, yogies. Because if you feel light headed during a class , you have to stay in the rooms and get fainted or get thrown out. It doesn’t matter if you are good loyal paid customer.
I wish I could give them a zero. This place is ruined by a instructor name shelby. She is so rude and doesn’t know about yoga. I have been to several hot yoga studio and I never been thrown out of a class. I was attending a 9:30 hot sequence yoga taught by Shelby. In the middle of class, I felt very tired and light headed so I stepped out to get some cool air. After about 30 seconds, my mat was thrown out of the class. And I was just shocked. But I didn’t think too much of it. Then I grabbed my stuff and try to go back into the class again. But Shelby stopped me and shut the door at me saying “ no, too much distractions”.
I was purely shocked. How could she do this to a customer? In the beginning of the class, she said we are welcome to take a break if we need to. That is what I did, listened to her. Yoga is all about to be the best of yourself and listen to your own body. No class rules says that I can’t step out and take a break.
Definitely not going back!

Are very hands off, leaving New students open to injury. Instructors are not there to help people embrace yoga, they are there to get through the class. Night and day difference from other yoga studios like korsi yoga which I love and will go back to.

I feel bad for Ember with the few negative Nancy reviews it's gotten from people who are too worried about small details. This is far and away one of the best yoga studios in the metro Atlanta area. Twice, if not more, each week I make the trek from East Cobb to come her and practice. I mainly do the community classes held on Wednesday and Friday, but I have also done a couple of classes with Marie and Jo, these are two EXCELLENT teachers with great pace, great experience, and great encouragement. These are all pretty different classes but they have each helped me in more ways than one. In what is a very busy, albeit fun atmosphere of downtown Woodstock, this is a wonderful little serene studio to help quiet the noise inside and out. Try it once and you'll be hooked!

First off let me say that I have NEVER taken a class here, I've never even entered the building until this morning.
My sweet husband bought me a Groupon for the special they have, one month unlimited. I was super excited to use it, being organized by nature, i went on the website, registered as a new customer, chose a class and thought I put my name down in the class, got there at least 20 minutes early so I could ask questions, look around and familiarize myself with the surroundings.
That's when my highly desired stress free morning turned into a very UNenjoyable experience. There were several people checking in, it was extremely unorganized, but I get that, it's NY weekend and a lot of folks join health clubs at this time, I'm still excited and looking forward to it. The one person attending the desk ask me if I've ever been there before and I say no ma'am but I filled out a profile online and scheduled and appointment, she proceeds to tell me, that doesn't matter, you still have to sign a waiver, in what i consider a very rude and unprofessional manner, but no big deal, I get stressed, I just came off one of the most stressful 4th QTRS in history of my career. (which is why i was excited about the yoga) so I take what I now know is a waiver and complete it, I gave her the groupon and the waiver, and she proceeds to tell me to go into the room and we'll worry about paying later? I just gave you the groupon showing we paid, but again, no big deal. I say, okay but I came for the 10:30 class, you know so I didn't have to rush, and she says, YEAH and the class is getting filled up, like I'm an idiot, I can assure you I am not an idiot, at least not the last time I checked, the class was so crowed at 15 minutes before it was supposed to start I don't know how on earth it would have been comfortable, at that point I just asked her to return the groupon to me and said thank you. I can understand, tolerate and even appreciate stress on many levels, but I certainly will not tolerate someone acting towards me as if it's my privilege to be in a place where i'm expected to pay for services. I'm extremely disappointed as I was looking to have a long term relationship in what I thought was a lovely shop in our beautiful city. I hope that things get better for that young lady but I will never go back there again. Thanks for ruining my NYE weekend and my stocking stuffer from my trying to be very thoughtful husband.

I have been to many yoga studios as a yoga teacher, and Ember is, by far, the kookiest. I signed up for the 30 day new student special, and my first class was with Chyla. Her instruction was good, but the weird sound effects she made as students went in and out of poses were annoying. Then, during savasana, she played Christian music that was very distracting. Students come from many religious backgrounds (or none at all) and the classed should cater to ALL. Yoga should NOT be associated with ANY religion! Then, I went to Devin's yin class. To add to what already was already a questionable experience for me, he read Bible verses throughout the class with a booming God complex tone. Ugh. So I moved on to Joe's hot sequence class. Like other's have said it is very "militant". I was recovering from a shoulder injury and had to do my own adaptations to avoid further injury. I was dismayed when he was right behind me loudly correcting my posture. Any responsible teacher usually asks before classes if there are any students with injuries they need to be aware of. This was not the case in ANY of the classes. I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed Jason's yin class. He is a great teacher and is wonderful! Even so, I will not be going back to Ember.

I thought a once/week visit to Ember might be a great adjunct to my main workouts. But I get sooo many benefits physically, mentally, spiritually from these classes (Hot Vinyasa & Hot Sequence) that I go at least 3x/week. On challenging work days, I find myself counting down the clock thinking, "Just 4 more hours until yoga...just 2 more hours til yoga.." I have chronic pain issues (from previous nerve damage) which are alleviated by Hot Sequence classes. I have been practicing yoga for about eight years, much of that time in San Francisco, where I went to some truly top-notch studios. Devin's Ashtanga class is one of the best I have ever taken. Vigorous, yet meditative. He also plays music (from Bon Iver to Pink Floyd), reads out Hafiz and Rilke, and gives self-help advice--all of which should be annoying, but isn't. The studio itself is gorgeous, even a little bourgeois, with a spa-like bathroom and paper lanterns and ludicrously expensive yoga clothes. I'm not complaining though. if you can't afford the $17 drop-in fee, just take one of the community classes, which are donation-based.
