This is a long overdue review but I only attended a handful of classes here and then moved out of state. I will say it was a great experience and got me hooked on Muay Thai. I had never done it before but they make you feel very welcome and comfortable.

We highly recommend Oh Do Kwan Striking Academy for anyone looking to learn martial arts. Our two boys started at 5 years old. The instructors are incredibly patient and knowledgeable (Joaquin, Bryce, and Brandon). Our children have not only improved physically but also gained a noticeable boost in confidence; the positive impact on their overall development is evident both at home and school.

This place is good and my son liked it overall. However, we won’t be returning because of the way the instructor sometimes speaks to the children. I am always in support of discipline and positive reinforcement. However, some of the things he says can be hurtful and I will not continue to spend my money to allow someone to speak to my child in a way that I wouldn’t. Specifically, there was an instance where my 6-year old son came into class for the first time with leg sleeves on and he looked at him and told him he looked ridiculous and should’ve known that he looked ridiculous when he looked in the mirror. Instead, he could’ve told him that he was out of uniform and instructed him to take them off. He could’ve also simply addressed me as the mother.

I was immediately taken aback and instead of reacting too quickly out of anger, I waited a few days and called him and expressed how I felt. Though he apologized, it just never sat right with me. I have also witnessed other things that he has said that is out of line to many of the children and for that reason we will be continuing elsewhere.

Signed up my boy up and he’s a few months into learning the art of Muay Thai Kickboxing. I’m looking forward to him developing skills and techniques that will prepare him for his future. So far, so good! He still has a long way to go.. I’m excited to see how he progresses.

I came in looking for adult martial art classes. I called with questions and also came to the location. Throughout the entire process the owner was very polite and is a very stand up person. His program was not what I was looking for however, I am going to sign my daughter up for lessons this summer. If you are looking for a great gym with great staff I suggest you sign up.

Fantastic instruction from friendly and respectable teachers. If you bring your child here, they will learn how to defend themselves and also learn to respect others!
This is NOT a daycare!
If you want your child to be able to defend themselves, learn great technique, and not just be kept busy for a few hours, this is the place to go!

It is a great school my son has grown so much since he started. Even after going to competitions and seeing plenty of other schools I am still glad we chose this one and not just because he won them but seeing the way our kids perform against other schools and the coaches are great!

I absolutely love this school they are extremely professional and patient myself and my son are both students I have searched many areas and schools and have not found a school remotely close to how hands on the instructors are with their students they are also very knowledgeable of what’s being taught I love it here and I highly recommend this training facility for anyone looking to get in shape and truly learn the art of Muay Thai,Kickboxing and or Taekwondo you can’t go wrong here

Where do I start. Master Joaquin runs, in my opinion, a world class training facility. He is strict, yet understanding.
He encourages and pushes his students to reach their maximum potential.
He has the respect of his students and parents.
My daughter and I looked at many other schools prior to choosing this one and we are not looking back.
We have learned so much in so little time with a long way to go, but I am looking forward to the journey.
If your feelings get hurt easily and you can't take being pushed to your limits, then this is not the school for you. But if you want real life training, then this is the place.
I highly recommend this school for children and adults alike.
Master Joaquin and his son Bryce are impressive to watch and learn from.
Both facilities are also super clean.
All i can say is join now and thank me later.

When we moved to Fayetteville we also looked for another studio our children can continue to train. Glad my husband found Oh Do Kwan - ever since we walked in the door we felt welcomed. Mr Juoaquin and his son Bryce are the best of the best when training all ages. They are great instructors and push each child and adult to better themselves and along the way how to work with others at different levels. My kids have come along way and love seeing the progress that they have made since starting. Come and visit and see for yourself.

Back in January 2022 I searched around Central and Southern Atlanta, to find a mixed martial arts school. Out of all of the schools I looked into Oh Do Kwan MMA is the most authentic! This school is unmatched to all in this area, from price range, to drilling, sparring, and a friendly environment! I suggest anyone to starting there martial arts experience here with them! 6 months strong now, and looking forward to many years to come!

The dojo here the team the leadership are really great. With a variety of young men and women who are having fun but also learning some valuable lessons concerning discipline and skill. I had a such enjoyable time seeing one of my young men receive his black belt. I have a newfound respect for anyone who achieves such a momentous level.

This is a great place to learn martial arts at any level. They have a great Master Instructor who breaks everything down from striking, jujitsu, and even self defense, and motivates you to excel with every class.
