My son got banned due to a false accusation.... a lady claimed my 15 year old son was taking pictures of her, she complained to the worker who was there at the time.... my son had to sit in the office with the worker she confiscated my son's phone after asking him to go to the deleted files of his phone [he had no idea how to access his deleted files due to the fact he had never had to do this before]. When I arrived to pick him up, the worker stated to me, you have to wait here until the owner of the facility arrives. I waited due to the fact the worker was holding my son's phone as hostage... the owner storms in saying my son is banned from the facility because a lady claimed he was taking pictures was wrong and someone called the cops there was no evidence of any pictures and why is my son being treated like a criminal. . I never saw the cops but she did complain. The cops never came there but i spoke with them a day later. They even said she should not have touched my son's property. My son has never been in any kind of trouble like this... my son is not into women like that yet.... he has a workout routine that he was sharing with friends of his age. The lady who claimed to the worker that my son was taking pictures was wrong not even close to his age...
I do not agree with how the situation was handled at all. He was very uncomfortable causing a lot of distress and confusion. The worker had no right at all to take my son's phone. She doesn't know we were only going there to keep him active it was convenient to the house he was building confidence in himself she doesn't know my child at all . He actively reads the Bible and is into praying everyday. He is into studying the Bible as a teen he asks people to pray before they eat. He would volunteer to do anything for anyone...she doesn't know what he has been through. He has never been in any trouble and has always been a respectful kid with no complaints. Thank you very much.

The facility never brought any other time my son had done this to my attention...so that was the first time hearing about this..they had my contact information. the 1st review back in march was deleted somehow.... I am not upset about being banned .i am sorry my son had to go through this. I dont appreciate the owners tone of voice and getting loud so the whole entire facility could hear the accusation. They were hearing about this when it was not true ....extremely rude and unprofessional i asked my son to go outside to avoid being more traumatized than he was))))) I dont appreciate you at all and im sorry for wasting my money. The only reason we went there was it was convienient to the house.... he found a more friendly environment. I've been going to Fitness 1440 for several years now and over the past 17 months have worked out with their trainer Jeshua. Jeshua is the best! I've had other trainers in the past that it felt like I was getting a "cookie cutter" routine. Jeshua listens to your goals and truly builds a program for you individually. As he observes your progress he will make tweaks as needed and truly pushes you to be your best. Not to mention, he will never have you do anything he won't do himself & he usually has tested it himself to make sure it will be effective. I can't recommend him enough.

I find this gym to be a very good. The equipment is good. Lots of free weights and machines but it lacks in calf machines which is necessary for complete training. They also have only one bike which is something a gym needs more of.
It is very clean and well kept. The staff is very informative and welcoming.

Been going here for close to two years I believe. The equipment is always clean, well-maintained, and easy to access. no long waits or overcrowded spaces. It honestly feels like having a home gym, but with way more options and better gear.

My girlfriend and I have been working out at this gym for a while now and we absolutely love it. The owners are super friendly and genuinely good people who clearly care about their members. The gym is always spotless—seriously one of the cleanest gyms I’ve ever been to. They’ve got everything you need, whether you’re lifting heavy, doing cardio, or just getting a solid workout in. Seasonal resident here. Accidentally bought a 10 day punch pass $130 instead of an unlimited monthly pass $79 and owner would not reimburse me the difference when I asked to change it 4 days prior, when I called and spoke to the receptionist on the phone. Horrible marketing, horrible money grab and they denied that I left a message four days prior; would not work with me at all. HOWEVER, despite the unfair business practices, the instructors at Touch of Blue next door (part of the gym) that came over from now closed Fit Frenzy, are AMAZING and that’s the only reason I’ll continue to attend. Unlimited membership is what I wanted to do.

Jaime is the owner of Fitness 1440. She is also my personal trainer. She is the best! Jaimie always makes sure I understand the proper form of the exercise. I have already lost weight & inches in just 2.5 months. Jaime is also a very good listener. She creates a work out specifically for you. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS: My husband & I have been members of Fitness 1440 for about 2 years & have watched the amazing transformation of this gym from a dirty, bug infested, dusty gym into a clean, functioning, well organized, not crowded, friendly, locally owned & operated place to exercise.

Up until a month ago, Fitness 1440 had two indifferent, absent, out of state owners. In my opinion, any reviews posted from 3 weeks or more should be discarded as they no longer apply. Since Jaime & her partners (Fitness 1440 members) acquired ownership, the gym is clean (and cleaned daily), the equipment is working (and if it isn't, which happens with exercise equipment, it is repaired quickly), cleaning supplies are readily available for members to sanitize equipment after use. Jaime has begun adding classes which are challenging & worthwhile. She is open to suggestions ...I'd love to see even more classes : ) ... and I think they will happen but everything takes time when you are a new owner.

I have read Bobby LaCoy's recent review & I can tell you that the pictures that are posted are definitely not recent. His inability to cancel his membership had to be with the prior owner ... Jaime is at the gym 5-7 days a week and if she isn't present, she has professional, courteous employees there during staffed hours to help members. The review just doesn't make sense. Jaime is a personal trainer (my husband & I trained with her for over a year) so we know first hand that she takes fitness seriously which includes maintaining safe & functioning equipment. Sure, she & her partners inherited some pads that are cracked & they are in the process of updating & revitalizing the equipment - this won't prohibit anyone from having a safe, exercise experience. It just takes time.

People who read Google reviews are, for the most part, intelligent educated people who want to make a wise decision. I get it. If you need a local gym, accessible 24/7, owned & operated by your neighbors, stop in. Check it out. Ask questions. Try it out. Don't base your decision on a disgruntled non-member or a person who wants 2 memberships for the price of one. Fitness 1440 is a small business, not Amazon...

And, once you are a member, if you don't like something, talk face to face with the owner(s) and make your suggestions. The owners are there to make Fitness 1440 Buford the best gym in the area & they are well on their way.

Although I wish there was a pool and pilates classes, I can't complain. I usually only walk the treadmill but there's a good variety of equipment to choose from. It's very conveniently located, it's clean (including the bathroom and showers), and I feel safe if/when I go after business hours.

Worst gym I've ever been a member of, huge health and safety hazards. Impossible to cancel membership, owner wouldn't respond to emails, no answer when called, voicemail full, went during the day to cancel and nobody there. After months of trying to cancel I had to eventually call ABC the financial institution for this gym, they were unable to get a response from the owner as well. ABC said they would stop charging my card, which they did. I thought this was finally resolved, now today a year later, I got a message that Fitness 1440 sent me to a debt collector and it dropped my credit score 28 points. This is the most disgusting gym in the Buford area, dead and live cockroaches everywhere, trash cans are never emptied, thick layers of dust on all the machines and ceiling fans, cable machines are literally held together with tape, all pads are cracked. There are a ton of other issues, but this has already wasted too much of my time. Your members deserve better!

I was referred to this gym by a great friend and have been coming here for a good bit. My time here was good, however, had to cancel my membership today just due to the change of their recent staff hours from 9am to 10am with it not working with me and my wife's schedule anymore. I had the staff member ask me why I was canceling in which to I replied with it not working with our schedule anymore. It just wouldn't make sense to pay for 2 memberships when the staff hours worked well for us allowing you to bring in a guest. The 1 star is for the unexpected response I received from the staff member today. She stated that "I'm pretty sure that you guys were here before 9am" in reference to the week before (before staff hours). I actually recall bumping into the same staff member on our way out in the prior week when they arrived into work late. It's sad to get treated like this and accused for going to work out during their staff hours when staff members are the ones coming in to work late and then just assuming that people come in when they're not supposed to. For years, I've always been to bigger gyms, but wanted to support a small neighborhood gym for a change, but I guess this is what I get. I'm a business owner in area and will not shy from sharing my experience.

Wonderful neighborhood gym. I've been coming here on and off since they opened over 15 years ago (off only due to having babies and triathlon training). Great staff who care. My teenage boys love it here, too. They are putting a lot of care and love into recent renovations, too. Bonus, they are a 24 hour gym.

Under new ownership last few months with better cleanliness and less down time on broken equipment. 1440 is the number of minutes in a week which means 24/7 access. Not a big place but all the machines and free weights that will keep most gym rats happy. Staffing friendly and helpful. No pool, hot tub or aerobic classes, just a good place for a workout

My wife started going to this gym almost a year ago today. Due to her being pregnant she has not had the energy nor time to go. As soon as she found out she was pregnant she tried to call the gym to cancel her membership with no answer. The next week she went in and was told it was cancelled. For 5 months (still ongoing) she has been charged. We have called hundreds of time with no answer. This gym is amazing but this is simply unacceptable for an establishment such as this one.

Multiple times I’ve come early in the morning and not been able to get in only to be told later that the computer was down at that time. Install a keypad!! Other than that, love this place.

I worked out at this gym for many years. I hurt my neck and went in to cancel. The lady behind the desk said that it would be no problem. Over a year later my wife asked me what a $30 per month charge to abc financial was. They never canceled the membership and then blamed it on me. Do not trust these people with your money.

The environment is absolutely stress free. You can workout anywhere in this gym and not feel less than! The equipment is clean and up to date- for those who like the old school weights and know what to do with them, they have those too. Trainers are super knowledgeable and they have their own nutritionist! I can't say enough good things- One thing I dislike about gyms are their bathrooms-- WELL here they are CLEANNNNNN :)

Great place to workout. The facility is clean, all of the equipment is up to date, the locker rooms and showers are clean, and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I came to this Jym because it is 5 min from my house. Very clean, awesome atmosphere, and great equipment. On the downside I've been there 3 months. I was not gone over with or understood that I was in a contract. I was told it's month to month which it is. When checking my bank statements on my second and third month they charged me my regular gym fee plus a $39 dollar and some change fee for a YEARLY Gym maintenance fee?? Like I said this is going on my third month and they just charge you for without notifying you or ACTUALLY EXPLAINING TO YOU WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING WHEN YOU SIGN UP. The price that you pay for this gym is very reasonable other than the fees you are unaware of in the future. So read before you sign anything and know what your signing on the electronic signature strip.

It was a nice gym and did renovations before I left. I thought the staff was friendly too, but I had to cancel my membership because I moved. I followed their cancellation policy which is a 30-day heads up and signed a form. It has been three months and they continue to charge me and will not respond to my inquiries. Thanks.

Joined over Christmas. Love the fact it is 24x7. They are remodeling and adding new machines. There are plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, etc. About 1/4 of the gym is for free weights. There is a classroom where they offer training. This gym is a bargain for the price.

I paid for what I was told was a month to month membership. In January of 2015. Unfortunately I was never able to make it in as I own a small business and just never had the time. They debit my account monthly 38.80. I stopped in today to cancel, where the very rude owner told me I was on a year contract. He basically called me a liar, and didn't care that I had never even used the membership one time. I apparently signed a year deal, but the guy that signed me up told me it was only month to month and I could cancel anytime, with 30 days notice. The jerk owner said I'd have to pay a 75.00 fee to the company that does the debit, and three additional months to him. That comes out to about 20.00 less than if I just let it play out.

As a small business owner, I would never treat a customer like he did. I would never try to make someone pay for something they never used and won't use. All I'll say is I will spread this far & wide, and also, BUYER BEWARE. They tell you one thing and do not stand by their word. The dude was rude, pompous, and looked to be on roids.

Update: Yesterday, 8/25/15 they charged my credit card 210.00. It's suppose to be 39.00. Unauthorized charges are against the law, and I will be acting on this. BEWARE!
