For anybody that decides to join and looking into a trainer PLEASE read to understand what you’re getting into, You have 3 options to select from the shortest term is the highest the longest term is the lowest starting at $200+ for a 30 MINUTE training session 2-3 days … let’s start there, if you decide to cancel they will charge you at Buy Out Fee of $60 dollars unless you have proof of a reason to cancel Example: Medical Doctors Note, Relocation but oh make sure it’s more then 15 miles away.. like life doesn’t happen to everyone… Okay, it takes 7 days for a response and 30 days for the service to be completed meaning… you will still be charged the $200+ and the Gym fee for a service you’re not receiving for whatever reason you decide to cancel

For the most part, great gym. Employees kind, friendly helpful. Love the pool, could be a lil warmer but I enjoy it. Need more rubber mats in shower area bc, tile inside showers shoilf be rough not slippery. So be careful with shower gels and slippery tiles. Rubber mats needs to be in each shower. Ohhh, I sit waiting for handing parking space near entrance. And its comical who comes out get in their cars trucks suvs. Looking lije professional body builders. Yet, parking in handicapped parking spots. Young people. Im 71, had back, knee surgeries. Trying to get back in shape in pool. Walking with cane. But they come out, body building bodies, heavy gym bags and PARKED UP FRONT IN HANDICAPPED SPACE. JUST DONT ADD UP. OR JUST DONT CARE ABOUT SENIORS. JUST THEIR SELFISH SELVES😪

This has been the worst gym experience ever. Initially I was excited about joint this gym due to the variety of equipment and the services it offered. I even signed up for personal training for 3 months just so I can familiarize myself with the new equipment. My 3 months went into an additional 4th month due to a vacation I had planned, a few overbooking and cancellations on the trainers part which was fine. As my sessions were coming to an end I was surprised to be charged for a 4th month. I spoke to management and explained that i took those specific days off of work so I could be committed to the sessions and that I would not be able to do a 4th month. He basically told me that I wouldn’t be refunded so I should do it or gift the sessions to someone. I definitely wasn’t paying for something that I wouldn’t be using so I reached out to my bank to dispute the charge. Also, by this point I was completely over this gym. It was too crowded and filthy. I would purposefully come in after hours in hopes of it not being crowded but instead I would enter a gym with everything displaced, empty sanitizing bottles, over filled garbage cans, and people with memberships letting their friends in who wasn’t a member. There would be groups of people just hanging out blocking equipment. Fast forward to a month later I cancelled my membership and was refunded for the additionally training session by my credit card company. They keep calling me threatening to send the amount to collections but oh well I refuse to pay for a service I didn’t use.

Don’t trust this company. I was in town a couple days, paid for a day pass, learned 2 months later they had charged my card 11 times for $635.00. Called the club to reconcile, they referred me to a billing company, Peak Payment Solutions, who said the club would have to take care of it. Had to file with the card company, cancel the card and have a new one sent out. Staff member stole my card information more than likely. 0/5 stars

It’s a good gym don’t get me wrong, but if you get a membership and if you ever want to cancel your membership, they will charge you a $59.99 cancellation fee and it will take a 30 day notice so they’ll be taking another month of pay from you. Out of all gyms i’ve been to i have never had this kind of issue

I'm so disappointed to be leaving a 1 star review. If I could leave ZERO stars, I definitely would. I've been a faithful and paying member for almost 3 years now. My personal trainer was absolutely amazing. Love him. I initially stopped attending due to a job change, but I still kept paying.. that was my choice. However, in June, my brother, my only sibling, passed away, suddenly and unexpectedly. I called on July 7, to cancel. Here we are in September, and they're STILL trying to charge my training fee of almost $400... to a gym I haven't been to since before June. I wouldn't even have canceled if my brother hadn't died. It's unfortunate that this gym doesn't care about the humanity of a person... just a coin. I'm so disappointed in the predatory practices of this gym. Totally shocking and saddened.

Listen, I was so on board with this gym, like I loved this gym until today.

Arrived around 7:45 to do my little work out for the day. Got through most of it and was finishing up some core work on turf because my back cannot handle the hard ground even with a mat.

Please keep in mind this is literally mid set when a so called trainer interrupts and tells me I need to move for their class.

Excuse me? One, could have waited till a rest point and two, I pay the same damn membership with an added couple thousand in personal training I rarely even use.

Ughm, what? Needless to say that work out didn’t get finished and I’m debating cancelling here.

I utilize the pool and it is by far the most disgusting pool ever. It's always cloudy and full of debris. Today 6/13/25 i walked in and found pieces of a diaper or pad on the side of the pool. They need to do better. I'm sure the can afford to keep the pool properly maintained and if not they need to close it down.

I left LA Fitness to come to Fitness 20/20. I can say this gym is nothing near to LA Fitness. LA Fitness in McDonough is the most nasty gym I ever attended. But Fitness 20/20 need to do better. I will start by saying that old equipment that you all still have needs to go. The old equipment be broken most of the time. There equipments, doors pipes in the ceiling and the floor needs to be dusted and cleaned. All the dust is ridiculous and all the staff is standing around doing nothing. I see one person all the time doing something but not cleaning in the areas that need the work. Next the new side is not worse for members should be paying to go to that side. There is not enough equipment on that side to do a complete workout. Next equipment is trash. You have to have a lot of strength to pull the knobs on the seats , have to adjust the cable on the equipment to do your workout. It is a mess and sometimes needs to done by people paying money to use that side. But over I will stay Fitness 20/20 before going back to LA Fitness. Guy just do better before Planet Fitness takes over.

My husband and I recently re-joined this gym after being out of the state for 2 years.

Pros:
1. the child care is WONDERFUL. Mrs Pat and her crew have always been really kind to our kids and doing a fabulous job with the chaos of their area. Unfortunately it can get WAY too crowded on some days.
2. The tanning is pretty good and while I haven’t accessed the classes yet, I like the option.
3. Most of the time I get a decent workout, though often it’s hard to know what pieces of equipment are open because of how much stuff is left out.

Cons (oof):
1. The tripods, the tripods, the TRIPODS. These new influencer kids doing stupid tik tok workouts and taking up entirely too much space is RIDICULOUS. You’re not filming anything new, you’re not special. Get rid of allowing filming in the gym. If I found out I was in the background of someone’s video without my permission, I’d certainly take legal action.
2. PICK UP YOUR WEIGHTS. This gym does a HORRIBLE job of keeping people in this gym accountable for picking up their weights. It. Is. Constant. Grown adult men just leaving their weights on the bar, the machine, the rack, etc. if you can lift it, you can clean it up. It’s absolutely horrendous. You have some trainers who are ALSO bad at doing this.
3. The amount of adult men who make vulgar commentary about women or sit around in groups and just take up space/equipment is unreal.
4. The amount of religious propaganda in the bathrooms. Just stop it. If people want to find your church, they’ll look.
5. This gym needs to invest in some mats for in front of the toilets for the members who decide it’s perfectly okay to sit/stand in front of the toilet to leave a puddle of pool water in front of it for others to slip on.
6. The parking. With more members, there are several times during the day where people are parking on the grass in order to not park in the neighboring businesses.

We signed back up to be members at the East Lake location when it opens and if there is no improvement at the new spot, we’ll leave bc it’s just ridiculous. I’d rather put the $75/mo into investing into a small home gym where I know my weights will be cleaned up and I won’t have to listen to grown men talking about the things they’d like to do to the women in the gym.

Good equipment, typical scummy practices. Give yourself 2-3 weeks to cancel. Be prepared to submit a form to a random 3rd-party payment processing company like the one pictured in my attached image.

This company, Peak Payment, is associated with Club Life. Time will tell if I'll be forced to make an account with them so they can properly cancel my fitness2020 membership.

I have been going to this gym for about 2 years now. Im very familiar and comfortable with this gym but took off 3 stars. 2 because the gym is basically never clean and always smells like feet. It's been that way for a while. You could tell when the (former??) manager was there because the gym was spotless (but it hasn't been for a while). Not that they can help it but it has been SO packed so I took off another star. I'm happy that so many people are investing in their health but we also need to practice gym etiquette. (This also goes for the OG gym-goers). Please stop holding up equipment because your talking to your five friends and for the love of God.. UNRACK YOUR WEIGHTS😭

Nice staff, variety of equipment, a pool, sauna, and fitness classes. There's a hair salon inside and it's only $20 per month. That's the good part. Unfortunately, too many losers with their tripods and cameras out. I counted 5 today. Seriously, are you all that pathetic? Of the 5 I saw, only one person was in shape. The other issue is the hogging of dumbbells. It's mostly women taking 2 or 3 sets at a time. None resembled Vasudhara so, no need to have that many sets.

I’ve been coming to this gym for two months now, and while the atmosphere is nice, it is very unkept most times I’m here. Started this as an experiment for my teenagers. 3 memberships for $25 each. After a few months, they flaked, so I went to cancel. Despite being told that I could cancel at anytime, that’s not what the contract says. That’s on me. I should have read it.
Fast forward to one year of paying $75 a month for a gym we don’t use. Ready to cancel:
Go to gym to cancel- “we will send you an email, just click that link to cancel.
Get email- download our app to make changes to your account
Download app- we got your message. Call us regarding your account
Phone call- you have to email us your intent to cancel.
I am so over this process, that I am likely going to cancel the membership I have had for years at the gym next to my home, since they use the same company.
I’d rather pay per visit than be held hostage.

The fitness centers are cool. I like the idea of childcare through the day but the contract is trash and is really a waste.

So if you are looking for a good gym go elsewhere because contracts are so 1998 when gyms were in the business of trapping their customers to be loyal. If the product speaks for itself then there is not need to set such obligations. If you are down to be in a 2yr contract or pay $159 (if cancelled w/n 1st yr) & give a 30 day notice, NO PROB this is your place. **I am moving away from the location and will be faced with the decision to cancel or risk losing $, either way this gym wasn’t my best option).

I've been a member at this gym for over a year and loved it. They have a number of classes. There is a kids club available to watch your children while you work out. I enjoy the walking/jogging track and the saltwater pool. However, I've since moved out of state to stay with family and they REFUSE to cancel my membership. They stated I needed a lease with my name on it or a bill, but I'm staying with family because I was experiencing a financial hardship. They did not care and have been charging me. The customer service has been horrible since stating I wanted to leave. I'm literally in Massachusetts where they do not have locations and have no benefit paying them. My contract is up and they still won't cancel claiming my payment is not current so I cannot cancel. I'm starting to look at my legal options because this is ridiculous.

I'm a member here at the Fitness2020 in Mcdonough. I enjoy my workout here, but lately I have taken advantage of the pool area. I enjoy my fitness training of water aerobics and swim classes. I recently spotted the situation with the ceiling of this facility in the pool. It has a very bad need for repairs. I feel this should have been taken care of before now. I took the initiative to ask the staff why does this look this way. I mentioned to this staff member regarding my concerns of the matter. She claimed it will be renovated in April 2025. This facility has been here three years under Fitness2020, but previously GOLD GYM 🏋️‍♀️
This matter should be handled before April 2025. The health department should be notified ASAP. It is a very dangerous matter. 😳 it can pertain asbestos and mole 😔
There is water leaking from the ceiling when it rains. This is terrible and something needs to be done about this situation.

I’ve had a very frustrating experience with Fitness2020. Despite their claim that you can cancel at any time, no questions asked, the reality is quite different. The contract locks you in for a year, making it nearly impossible to cancel. I’ve moved and have submitted four written requests to cancel my membership, citing two valid reasons: my relocation and the fact that I am currently in an open bankruptcy, needing to reduce unnecessary expenses. Unfortunately, they continue to ignore my requests. It feels more like trying to leave a restrictive contract than canceling a simple gym membership.

I came here in July looking for a gym home. They where running a special pay a $1 for the sign up then the monthly membership the following month. I wasn't able to commit due to death in the family... I notified them within the week that I need to cancel and would not start until situated the young lady who's a manager did not tell me I had to come in and sign a paper she let that week go by another manager told me I need to come in a sign a paper but because it wasn't done within the week I will still have to pay. 2020 started trying to take money from my acct...being she was a manager she knew the process but didn't tell me I have not set foot back in the building never worked out there not once and they are still trying to go in my account everyday. I would never support a company that is misleading and greedy. They will not get another $1 out of me.

They have such a courteous staff at the front desk! I always feel welcomed and seen. I love the gym's swim teachers as they taught me how to overcome my fears of the water and learn to swim!! I enjoy it now.

The gym has a variety of very good classes. Most of the group trainers are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Some of them I haven't met yet, so no shade to them. I haven't used the personal trainers here yet but wouldn't hesitate to do so. I am training to become certified as one due to how much I have enjoyed working out, slimming down, and getting in much better shape. This gym definitely helped with meeting my fitness goals and making new ones.

This location is spacious with lots of equipment. There are a good bit of amenities. My kid and I love the kids club, playground, and kid-friendly staff. The bathroom is routinely cleaned. This gym is very popular, so the whole place gets crowded around peak times. Go on non-peak hours for more time to enjoy it. There are enough stalls in the women's bathroom, which is a big plus.

That being said, and perhaps plans are in the works, but I think they need a bigger sauna. The swimming pool area could use more attention. Additionally, I wish the pool remained warm, but it's sometimes somewhat colder at times until the staff gets there, maybe? It eventually warms up, though, for us to enjoy it. I wish there was a separate bathroom for the pool and more dressing rooms because parents tend to bring their older kids doing their swim lessons inside the women's locker area. There are only two dressing rooms for such a large crowd so I understand the dilemma. For a gym, though, growth is a good and fixable problem, so keep up the good work.

Today was my first time visiting this gym. I was excited because I had previously heard nothing but positive reviews. The facility was nicely arranged and very clean. I told the front desk attendant that I only wanted to purchase a day pass because I have two memberships at different gyms already. However; after finishing my workout, I decided to inquire about the membership options because I enjoyed it. This is where things went south. I asked the same front desk attendant what the fees were. His response was “24.99.” That’s all he said. I then asked if there was an annual maintenance fee. He replied that it was 30-something but it was going up because they are building two other locations. I felt like he was being very short with me and then realized why. He was too busy smiling and making baby faces at the lady who had just come in the door with several children. It became very obvious that they were not interested in gaining more members. I will keep my coins going to the places who actually appreciate peope.

First gym I’ve found in the area that has everything I would need and doesn’t charge you your first born child for a membership. Sometimes it gets a little crowded but that’s expected at a good affordable gym. Tanning bed was dirty so I stood on top of my sneakers. Pool water was dirty, there was a cockroach on the ropes and the metal inside the door frames was terribly rusted, borderline disintegrated. I have just recently started going to this gym At the McDonough location and I love it today I had my body scan, and Huk went above and beyond my expectations. he helped me feel comfortable with using the machines and I’m even looking into him being my trainer. I absolutely recommend this place always a smiling face when you come in the door very clean gym. Also, Emmanuel at the protein shake bar is phenomenal! He always has something new for me to try!

Very disappointed in this company. They take advantage of members. I have moved over 100 miles and attempted to cancel my ACH draft twice. They are refusing to do so even though the rules are if you move over 15 miles you can cancel membership. I have provided my new lease which is one of the approved documents. My lease is in my full name, my membership in my middle and last name. First time they refused because my membership in my middle name. I then provided my ID showing my full name. They then refused and said I'd needed to have the new address on the ID too which isn't at all listed on their rules. Seems like they continue to deny regardless. I am now going to have to cancel my bank card and get another. Will never be a member here again.

I love the classes on Monday @6:30 pm, Tuesday @5:30 pm, Wednesday @5:30 pm, and Saturday @9:30 am. I get 2 days of cardio and 2 days of weight training per week. I already feel stronger and I'm confident I'll meet my weight loss goals 2 months from now.

I’m being completely honest. I started this gym in January. The facility is beautiful and the renovations they have done have made it an amazing place to workout. BUT the bathrooms, specifically the showers are absolutely filthy. I have complained to the staff at least once a week since JANUARY and nothing has been done about it. I was told that the staff has to go in and clean it but things as small as the light switches and mirror have built up dirt that has not been touched since I started. As someone who workouts before worki want a clean environment to take a shower and get ready and this is just not it. It’s very disappointing that a facility this nice is that disgusting. IF SOMEONE NEEDS A JOB GO APPLY BECAUSE THEY NEED A FEMALE JANITOR.

Re: my current membership...3.5 Stars. It's a gym, not the sterile operating room at your local hospital!! If you are a Germ-a-phobe, don't go to the gym. With the exception of the Men's bathroom, the place is 'fairly' clean. To be fair, the bathroom issue is due to filthy gym members who probably live like Vikings at home anyway, NOT the staff.!

Re: the CANCELLATION process....

FULL DISCLOSURE: I pay for membership through my job's Active & Fit Direct program, and DO NOT have a direct Fitness 2020 contract...for good reason!

For all of those who say the contract cancellation process is "sketchy" or "suspect" I would say that Fitness 2020 contract provides a great example for why people should READ THE CONTRACT'S FINE PRINT. The majority of legitimate instances that require cancellation of the contract could still lead to Fitness 2020 being paid by the member to get out of it.

EXAMPLE: If people read the contract carefully, they will note that Fitness 2020 still expects to be paid a reasonable fee from your estate in the event that you die while under contract.

READING IS FUNDAMENTAL!!!

The installation is good, but the gym administration must change the membership cancellation method, they do not allow you to cancel through an email or visit to the from desk, you must send proof and papers so they can cancel you. In my case they have charged me for 2 months without me using the gym. It is very bad service from the gym. BE CAREFUL WITH THAT.

Level professional space and equipment. The most organized and free space to workout, with multiple forms of machines so your workout doesn't have to stop. Walking track and dedicated group class and spin rooms plus a kids exercise club. Best ever!

I love the Hit, Spin, and Fitness classes! They have the best instructors that will really work you out hard!! I do not like how their massage chairs are not hidden away from the club traffic. People walking by you, back and forth, as you are trying to enjoy the peace and serenity the massage chair brings.

The only reason they get one star is because the gym itself wasn’t bad. I left the country ( I’m in the military) and they still haven’t cancelled my membership after I’ve asked multiple times over these past 10 days. Now they’re trying to charge a fee for me to cancel. This is why people don’t go to the gym. Customer service was terrible

I moved to the area back in September and it took a month of trying out gyms to find my home. This is it!! The gym is by far the cleanest gym I have been to and the trainers and staff are friendly and welcoming. So many workout options to chose from...classes to heavy weights and machines. I love my new home gym! Thanks Fitness 2020!

Great gym until its time to relocate. The cancelation process is a nightmare and predatory. You will be dealing with ABC Fitness when it's time to cancel - NOT fitness 2020. This should absolutely be something that is explicitly told to new members prior to sign up, not something you find out when it's time to cancel.

Worst experience I've ever had at a jump facility signed up for physical trainer never could get time together signed up for another physical trainer they were in worse shape than I was they have a lot of equipment they have a big profile but the delivery as far less than what I anticipated will never go back.

Fitness 2020 MCD. I'm not crazy about this place. About a third of the dumbbells are missing, some of the trainers have as many as three barbells and three complete sets of dumbbells sitting on the floor, unused while they train a person in a different area. It's not fair to us who pay our bills on time and put our stuff back when we're not using it to have someone who's supposed to be a gym champion doing exactly what annoys all of the other members. Completely unfair.

Learning how to swim in so much fun with Mrs Doris, and Mrs Laura I have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis my left side it feels normal when I'm in the swimming pool everybody says good exercise and I love the water so every Saturday 9:30 10:30 a.m. then they have another class 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and then they have a kid class 11:30 to 12:00 p.m.

Nasty pool water!!! It needs more than dumping chlorine in it. Clean the traps to get hair out...Not sure why so many places neglect the cleanliness and sanitary effects of the aquatic area.
As well as nasty women's bathrooms and dressing area. You can do better. It needs to be cleaned at least 3 times a day. Rotate staff out to hold accountable and make sure who's not doing their part.

Wide variety of equipment. Nice sized gym . Wish some people would do a better job at cleaning behind themselves. Some people just get off of the machines and leave gross sweat marks . Sometimes restrooms and dressing rooms are not clean . Staff is friendly and welcoming . The large workout room is nice . The sauna size should be bigger for the amount of people coming in . I’m still fairly new to fitness2020. I can say the first time I went sauna was closed for repair but there was nasty, dirty napkins on the floor. There wasn’t a sign up or anything. Also, there is never hand sanitizer in the stations. The shake after one of my gum visits was pretty good.

I’ve had memberships at a lot of gyms and can’t really say I’m please with this one.

They have a large parking lot and appear to have a good amount of people with memberships. You can always find a machine which is a plus.

It has the potential.

They do not clean. I walked by the same garbage (misc bottles and hand towels) around the gym for weeks. I watched as employees walked by the roof leaking all over the floor and making a 2 ft puddle and had to insist that they do something about it! The kids club doesn't open until late in the day. Also, the muscle builder dudes hog the TWO Smith machines alllll morning instead of using the free weight machines 🙄😤. LAME GYM OVERALL

The gym is good the poool tends to be full with the children classes, thru are replacing equipment however I moved and was told it would not be issue to cancel and it has been a nightmare with them requiring me to submit personal info although none of it was required to sign up. Never had this issue with planet fitness and other gyms.

To be a member who began in 2005, in the old Gold’s Gym, I am extremely impressed with the upgrade and efficiently run facility of “Fitness 2020!” The staff is friendly and competent. I do enjoy my time there on an average of 4 days for 1-2 hours. I get compliments all the time; most think I am much younger than I really am 😂
