My son is 3 and recently started lessons at Goldfish. Since he started he was very scared but the coaches offered much patience and respect. Some of the skills scared him and he has been crying before going to lessons recently. Today he had a makeup lesson with Mrs. Cali in the water and she was very kind and listened to him and treated him gently. By far he had one of the best lessons with her today and was smiling the whole time, and he enjoyed doing the skills and I saw improvement. The front desk staff is very kind as well, And helped a lot with me getting a makeup in for a lesson he missed. Overall 10/10 experience! ❤️ The facility is very clean and the swimsuit dryer is very helpful after lessons. I definitely recommend coming here, the staff is amazing

We have been associated with GoldfishSwim School for almost 3 years now. It is the best place to start learning water safety and swimming skills. Ms. Brea is an amazing swimming teacher! My kids started swimming lessons when my daughter was just 2½ and my son was 4½ years old. Ms. Brea taught my daughter for some time, and I was so impressed with how patient, kind, and encouraging she was especially with such a young child.

Every time my daughter struggled to learn a new stroke, Ms. Brea knew exactly how to explain it in a way she could understand and how to train her step-by-step until she got it. My daughter absolutely adores her and always looks forward to her lessons.

When they say that their customer service is top tier, they mean it! Today, I forgot my son’s towel and I felt so guilty! I’m a teacher and it’s the first week of school- I’m exhausted! I approached the front desk to try to buy a towel. Riley, an employee at Goldfish who has helped me before, let me borrow her towel. It was a kindness that I needed today.

Like I said she’s always helpful, but this was above and beyond, because they sell them. She could’ve asked me to purchase one. Kindness is free everyone and Goldfish Swim School is where it’s at!

We’ve had a great experience with this swim school in the past—our two older sons started from the very beginning and graduated from the program, and we were always satisfied. That’s why we decided to enroll our youngest child as well, who just turned 3.

Today was only his second class, and he was understandably still adjusting and scared. He cried throughout the session. Unfortunately, his instructor, Sam Meyberg, did not show much patience or support. Instead of trying to comfort or encourage him, she appeared visibly frustrated and made no effort to interact with him during the entire class.

When parents were invited in at the end to speak with the coach, she asked why my child was crying and stated that he cried too much to be able to learn. The way she said it felt more like a suggestion that he might not be suitable for the class, rather than offering help or guidance. Her tone and attitude made me feel unwelcome, as if we were a burden rather than students in need of support.

I understand that teaching young children can be difficult, especially when they’re emotional or scared. But that’s exactly when a coach’s patience, understanding, and experience are most important—especially in a school that works with beginners.

Both of my boys have had a wonderful experience at Goldfish. They have learned a lot and made progress toward being more successful swimmers. My 5 year old took a break and did swim lessons somewhere else for convenience, but we did not see nearly as much progress, so we put him back at Goldfish and have already seen more progress. My 2 year old cried a lot for his first class, but the staff was very calming and gentle with him. They played with toys and cheered for him. Now he goes to each class with confidence!

First day was great because it was just our child and the teacher but every lesson after that there was always 3- 4 kids and my child maybe got in the water 4 to 5 times the whole 30 minutes we were there. Maybe 3 minutes in the water in total. Even if you call in advance to make sure there no more than 1 kid in the class, there could still be 4 kids and it's totally not worth it when the class is that big for 1 teacher.

I have two kids that goes to Johns Creek and will definitely recommend goldfish swim school. They make sure my daughter (which is on the spectrum) is not only learning but also having fun.

After careful consideration and a positive conversation with the owner of the Goldfish school at John’s Creek I have decided to revise my original review.

Our experience at the school has been 99% positive - from the instructors to the desk staff to the facility itself.

Through no fault of our own (and through no fault of the school for that matter) the attendance in the class we were taking dwindled down to an untenable number that forced us to part ways for the time being.

I had a very bad interaction with a manager at the swim school when discussing our options going forward that led me to review the entire operation in a negative light. Instead, I’m going to chalk that up to a fluke or a bad day on the part of that manager. There is always room for improvement and I think that manager has a golden opportunity to improve their customer relations.

Since then, I have had a conversation with the owner—we discussed my experience at length and we have come to an amenable agreement.

I would suggest that you ask for the owner’s contact information / reach out directly if you should ever feel like the school’s management is not accommodating or is in any way leaving you with a negative aftertaste.

Incredible learning environment for our three kiddos who all learned at a different pace. Sure I wanted our youngest to move up faster, but he just wasn't ready. We do miss coach Asa but the other coaches are just as awesome. Shay is phenomenal.

Three kids have gone through Goldfish swim. Excellent and caring instructors, even on those days when you can tell either the swimmer or instructor isn't "feeling it". They push the kids just enough through positive reinforcements and I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for little ones to "grow some gills".

I enrolled my two daughters, Kate (6 years old) and Amy (2 years old), in this school because I saw the reviews and they were really good. Everything was going excellently until today. First, I want to mention that the Spanish-speaking lady at the front desk was not there today, but she has always been very sweet and kind, just like Ms. Kate, who is the teacher for my two-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, today there was a substitute teacher with another girl who clearly had no idea how to handle children of these ages. My 2-year-old has only had 3 classes, and today she started to feel overwhelmed, and of course, the baby wouldn't stop crying in a way that should have indicated to the teacher that it wasn't working. However, she continued doing exactly the same thing, and I am sure that any progress made with the previous teacher was lost because my daughter came out of that class in panic. When I went to complain at the front desk, there was someone who didn’t understand me well because my English is not good (my native language is Spanish). I tried to explain everything as best as I could, and the person did not say anything to me. I don’t know what kind of so-called supervisors they have there because no one approached me to address the situation or to listen to how I felt about today’s class. At the desk, the teacher and another supposed staff member were laughing at how I spoke and looking at me as if I were crazy. I do NOT recommend either the person who was at the front desk today (August 10, 2024) or the teacher for the 6-year-old class. It is very disappointing that no supervisor came to handle the situation. I am disillusioned with this place. They don't have any idea how to handle complaints.

We have been going to Goldfish for over 3 years now. Our children love it, and we look forward to swimming every week. The management and teachers are very friendly and excellent at what they do. Our son started at about 5 months old, and he can swim across the pool. Our daughter started at 9 months and is now 18 months old. She loves the water too. It’s exciting to see her little pulls and kicks. The best part is hearing her laughter and joyful screams in the water. We look forward to our weekly swim classes. We highly recommend Goldfish Johns Creek and love it.

I don't know how everyone keeps up with each individual child's development and needs, but it's impressive that my girls seem to be getting instruction tailored to their changing needs instead of just having a standardized class plan where they all do the exact same thing. Watch your child and the instructors! My 7-year-old here took several months, trying to get over his fear of putting his head in the water. His regular instructors were patient, but they’re young and not very motivating. On our last visit, none of the regular instructors were there, so an older staff member—who usually walks around making sure the instructors have what they need—was the instructor for the day. She was terrible! She forced him to go and stay under water. He was traumatized. Then when he was sitting on the side of the pool crying, she ignored him. She couldn’t care less. It’s a good thing we were watching. I immediately went in and had words with her, and she was not even apologetic. Plus the pool water, the floaters, and the edge of the pool are dingy. Also, you can’t just quit. It’s like you’re renting an apartment or something, because you have to give 30-days advance notice to quit.

Worst customer support ever. My daughter was a previous member so I called to enroll again but never gave them a card and I called again informing she won’t be able to enroll and their irresponsible team never took note of it and charged my old card on file without informing me. This place isn’t so much a swim school as it is a float school. My daughter was enrolled for 5 months and she learned to back float. That’s it. This is probably because she would spend an average of 5-6 minutes actually in the water and the rest of the time she sat on the side of the pool socializing. I have been going there every Wednesday and Thursday for two weeks and today I was there like usual but as I was in the pool with my son I was told I couldn’t be in there because I was not on schedule for some reason so as embarrassed as I was me and my son got out of the pool to go talk to the lady up front she checked on her computer and I was not on there to be there she said I was only allowed Wednesday at 11am but not Thursday I had been going both days and thought I was paying for two days she said no I also thought they were using my makeup class I had from last year she said no they never put in your class she said if you want I can do that for you I said no why would my make up class not be used before being charge so I can get my makeup classes out of the way but instead I was charge and my makeup class were not being used! Sad to say I was not very happy and decided to leave and drop out after all this!

I enrolled my kids in swim class and they had their first class yesterday and I was really happy with how it turned out. I wish I had enrolled them in sooner. The room was heated as was the pool. My 4 year old won't get in cold water and he did pretty well. My 6 year old loved it! They also gave a nice bag of stuff for enrolling: a t-shirt, googles, and a card game. I am so happy with this facility. Even though their schedule was pretty full, they arranged things so they could accommodate my 2 children for lessons quite quickly. One of my children has special needs and can be quite difficult to work with, but they have calmly worked through his outbursts. Aaron has been great with him! I appreciated very much how easily the special needs situation was handled. Usually you will get referred to a specialty facility and there are long waits and evaluations. I so appreciated that this facility readily agreed to work with him and said that if he needed additional help, they would put another person in the pool. I can't tell you how wonderful that was for me. It is often so frustrating trying to get special children a "normal" experience. Thank you!

If I could give this no stars I would. This place is so unsafe. They have so many children in the pool but they have 1 lifeguard that is not even paying attention to the kids. I recorded a lifeguard as she was standing there talking to a worker for almost 4 mins and never even looked at the pool of children. I had to complain about the lifeguards twice before pulling my kids out. It’s completely unsafe, and they have so many young people who are annoyed working there, and that just doesn’t care about your children. This is absolutely the worse experience ever!!!!!

We started with week long lessons two summers ago and then switched to the monthly plan there after for about a year. They were excellent in making the kids feel safe in the water and both my young kids had fun early on. I would say if thats all you are looking for in a swim school then they are a great bet. The place is clean and the staff is usually good. Lots of staff turnover though. I was expecting that after spending that much time and money, my kids would know how to swim. They can float and thats about it. Lots of neighbors have had the same issue.

This is such a great place! We have been year maybe 2 years now and now have graduated to swim force swim team. This place is super duper clean, the staff are all so sweet and friendly. They are so accomodating with changing a day if we need to and being flexible! We love it here!

I love my child's teacher Cameron! She has an incredible amount of patience and it is very evident that she is gifted at what she does. Not sure if this was her Goldfish training or if it's natural but she is a true gem at this facility in Johns Creek. My child is always excited to be in her class. I also appreciate the warmth in the atmosphere from the other employees too. The facility was always clean prior to Covid-19, but they have truly gone above and beyond to ensure that each changing stall is clean before and after use by any family. Love it here!

My daughter’s been with Goldfish swim school for almost 3 years now and nothing but good experiences! Great teachers and front desk people and they’ve always been friendly and flexible whenever we needed to reschedule for make-up classes!
