I echo the sentiment of other Hot Worx users… I have gone to many studios across the country and this one is gross. It smells terrible, the sauna’s are commonly broken and need maintenance (knobs and dials don’t work, tonight I came for a session and my sauna was completely broken and not working. Showing an error code on the temp panel…) This is COMMON here. Also, the cleanliness is poor. I do not recommend this specific location, although I love HotWorx in general.

Sweat Elite (everywhere) member here! I go to hotworx across the country regularly. This is the most poorly kept location I’ve ever visited. Overall condition is just dirty. There are hand written signs scotch taped on the wall that pretty much everything is broken. No lights in the FX Zone. Two TVs in FX zone- one was not working, the other was playing a movie when it should be playing the FX zone workouts. Sound out in one sauna. The hot blast hand grips don’t fit the handles, makes it hard to grip. The sauna heaters are held together with scotch tape. The sauna heaters are also filthy. The vending machine wasn’t operating to offer the rented mats. There’s also a sign that when it is working, to not buy food from the machine. Absolutely pathetic. All feedback was written down for this facility on the log book at the employee desk.

**Hotworx Review**

I started going to Hotworx during Covid because I wanted a hot yoga place, and it has been amazing overall for my health. Initially, the place was clean, smelled nice, and any broken machines or ties were fixed almost immediately. However, after a change in ownership, the quality has drastically declined over the past two years.

Machines have been broken for weeks without being fixed, and the ties on the pedals are often broken, making it impossible to strap in our feet. The machines are old, noisy, and dirty. The worst part is the unbearable smell—it often reeks like something awful. Despite multiple complaints, nothing has changed.

I've been a member for probably 3 years. I didn't work out regularly until about 3 months ago - but now I am at HotWorx, in my private sauna, gifting myself with better physical health, 4-5 days a week. I have to credit Joselyn for my increased attendance. I told her that I wanted her to hold me accountable for regular attendance, and she took that role seriously! I am grateful that she welcomes me by name when I walk through the door - that she asks me how she can improve my work-out experience - and that she always asks me about my journey. Last night I pushed myself too hard and let go of the straps on the rowing machine too quickly. Darious was emptying the trash and heard the weights hit - he checked on my status a second later. I love that I have a private work-out sauna, but yet caring professionals continually present to monitor the cleanliness of the studio and - most importantly - there if I need them. I thought the whole idea of a hot-sauna workout would be a trendy idea that wouldn't last - but I was willing to give it a try years ago. My husband and I wouldn't trade this experience for a free membership elsewhere. There is no-better workout experience than HOtworx. The sweat that results is an obvious reminder that I did well - I made my time worthwhile - I did what I came to do. And when I walk out afterwards, feeling a little insecure about my physical appearance - Joselyn and Darius high-five me and congratulate me. You have to experience it all to appreciate it. I don't just "workout at a gym" - I get physically fit at HotWorX. And I'm almost 60 years old. There's pride in being able to say that! Thanks Joselyn and Darius! You guys are my supportive friends and I appreciate you!

I am new to the Hotworx family, but I do enjoy some hot yoga for time to time. I visited the Smyrna location a few times and the gym is always clean, and the equipment is state-of-the-art. The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to help. One staff member in particular, Darius, was very helpful and gave detailed instructions on how to use the saunas.
My favorite workout was the spin class. I definitely will be back for a good detox/ workout.

I talked to the manager on two different occasions and nothing ever changed.

This place is a disgrace of a HOTWORX. I hope that anyone that visits here know that is not how all HOTWORX locations are.

Being a former member I visited my first time with the intention of signing up. I was so turned off by the condition of the place.

I decided not to sign up that day but missed HOTWORX classes so much I was back a few weeks later and joined.

The equipment shows that it is literally never wiped and is always falling apart, none of the bikes have straps that work. The sauna floors are absolutely filthy full of hair, debris, and trash. The restrooms are always gross and smell terrible.

I am happy I have the sweat everywhere membership and found the cleanest place in Brookhaven to workout at. I only come to this location when I absolutely have to and I’m so uncomfortable every time.

I’ve read other reviews before talking about how they pay to get reviews deleted so I expect that to happen because there’s no way this place has 4.8 stars with all the negative reviews that have come through!

I started at Hotworx to get in shape and while that has happened something even better came of it. I was scheduled to have shoulder /rotator cuff surgery in October and when I went in for it the doc had me do some rotations etc and cancelled the surgery as he said the infrared heat had helped with healing my shoulder and I only had to do PT!! What a relief. I tell everyone about it now and highly recommend if even for just healing purposes!!

Been coming to this location since signing up in January and I’ve been obsessed since the first session. I needed a gym that could accommodate my SAHM schedule (needing time outside of normal business hours) and desperately wanted to use a sauna, so when this place popped up I was super interested in being able to workout *in* a sauna at any time of day/night. Any negative reviews 2023 are correct! This hotworx was sold to someone else and it has gone down hill. Raquel I believe is how you spell it is the manager and is beyond rude! I aked to speak to someone over her and she never had anyone contact me. Distgusting yes trash not taken out regularly, windows and doors nasty. Video systems down all the time. I called and aked a question as I was told to do and Raquel was beyond rude and talked over me. It was a question to understand the center as im a month in but she turned it into something more. I happened to met Sage outside of HotWorx and she quickly invited me to HW to see what they're all about. I must say that I had a wonderful experience. Upon arrival I was greeted by Sage and Fanta. They showed me around the facility which was very clean and inviting. They encouraged me to try Hot Yoga which I really enjoyed although it was quite challenging. After my session they checked in with me to make sure I had a good session before presenting me with prices and inviting me to come back. 10/10 experience. I will definitely come back again.

Hotworx Smyrna has been the answer to my prayers! I joined at the end of April 2023 and as of September 5th, I am down 50 lbs. I’m so thankful to find a place that I can workout, get stronger, get healthier and lose weight. I need ankle surgery, have bad knees and a bad back. Hotworx provides all the answers with low to no impact workouts that are sustainable for me. Love that they are open 24 hours #NoExcuses In addition, the infrared saunas are legit. You’ll find me there every day! If for some reason I cannot make it, I miss it terribly and can’t wait to get back in! Hotworx has allowed me to get healthy within my physical constraints. I just noticed the review has been REMOVED!!! After having been a member since the location's conception (2019) the studio changed hands--cleanliness, working equipment, professionalism, and communication dropped significantly. I love this concept of this gym! BUT if you are over 5’6 the saunas aren’t conducive to a good workout. I am 5’11 and can not do half the poses during the videos because the ceiling or wall is stopping me. Working out with 2 people in a sauna is VERY INTIMATE. Like if they have a natural odor you have to tough that out for 40-50 mins plus work out in sync to create enough space for you both to maneuver. Long story short I have to keep looking for an alternative/better fitness fit.

I wouldn’t recommend this place!

There are frequent "technical issues" with saunas. Some of them take an extremely long time to reach the desired temperature. Sometimes sauna rooms are completely out of service. A member will just have to arrive and find out you can't take your scheduled session because the sauna room is broken.

-The glass doors to the sauna rooms are very dirty. They use very thin cheap wipes that just smear all the dirt around. Previously, they provided paper towels and sanitation spray to wipe things down. However, they removed those.

-The small bottles of essential oils that were available to spray in the sauna room to cut down on the bad smells that occur when people are profusely sweating in a small space are now empty all the time with no one ever refilling them. On my last visit, I didn't see any bottles at all. I’m assuming members are expected to just deal with the smell or bring their own.

-The videos that play inside the sauna room do not change often. I believe every 6 months. Therefore, if you are attending regularly, they get boring quickly.

-There were always technical issues with the app that is used to schedule classes.

-The rooms are very small so being in there with one or two additional people you don't know will be very tight. If you know them, it's not too much of a problem. But you will be in a tight space and you will smell everything in there.

The Contract is not really a six-month contract. It’s really an eighth month contract. And there are a lot of hoops to jump through just to cancel your contract.

Awesome gym to get in a quick workout. Love the sauna and how you really get a good sweat going in just 15 mins. Spin class, row, elliptical bike, and several yoga/core class options. Convenient location and really friendly staff working here. The app makes booking work out times easy so you have a guaranteed spot. 24 hour access. Highly recommend

Nov 22 update: I still stand by everything I said above. May only complaint is they need to set a minimum temp on the saunas around 110 or so. I'll come in later in the evenings and the saunas will be 80 degrees and it takes a full 15-20 minutes to heat up. Kinda frustrating as I want to get a sweat on quickly. Also there are times this place SMELLS very bad. Like almost makes me queezy while I'm trying to work out. I understand it's a sweaty place but it stinks bad sometimes (usually in the unstaffed hours). I will say when staff are there they do a good job of keeping the saunas hot and pretty clean

Update: After posting my initial review, the manager reached out to me to resolve the contract issue. This was very helpful. Because of that, I have changed my review.

Extremely unprofessional and rude. Horrible customer service. I moved over an hour away from this studio and simply wanted to close my account. I was told I had to come in and sign some cancellation agreement. I explained I could sign electronically however I was already living more than an hour away from the studio and it was impossible for me to make that trip just to sign a gym cancellation agreement. The very rude woman said that I would have to make time because there were no exceptions. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She stated that she could take a message but there was no one available to help me. So as of now I still have a membership that I don’t need and I’m continuing to be charged. What a terrible way to run your business. Hire better employees.

…and just like that, I’m hooked on Hot Worx! Yesterday, I tried the Hot Cycle session at 120 degrees for 15 minutes. It was a challenging and fun experience! The leaders are enthusiastic and their positive vibes are contagious! The gym is clean and gives a welcoming spirit. First impressions are always important…and Eliza, associate at the front desk area, welcomed me with a smile and willingness to help get me started on the bike for my session. Eliza’s knowledge of the gym, patience, and caring spirit sealed the deal for me to join the HOT WORX family! I’m looking forward to crushing my personal goals with amazingly awesome results!

Knew it would be challenging, but I didn't know it would be addicting! Just what I was looking to get in better physical condition. So listen...I’m one of those extremist. You know the kind....that person that goes from not exercising AT ALL to one day randomly deciding that I was going to drive 40 mins one way, 5 days a week, to spend 30-45 minutes in temperatures ranging from 120-125 degrees working muscles that I didn’t even know existed all while hoping I don’t pass out and cause a scene, is what I’d like to do in order to get fit. Yeah, that’s me! I’m also an instant gratification kind of gal. If I’m not sweating within 5 minutes then OBVIOUSLY what I’m doing is pointless and not working, right?! If you are anything like me, then YOU WILL LOVE Hotworx in Smyrna! Now I’m not gonna lie, I went in with pretty high expectations that were set based on all the reviews and I was not the least bit disappointed! The staff was incredibly friendly and even gave me kudos for surviving the entire session after my first workout! They also followed up with me via text twice afterwards to ensure I was happy with my membership. With regards to cleanliness, the place is absolutely spotless! Not only does the staff do a fantastic job of maintaining the facility but so do the patrons! Every single person I’ve encountered has immediately wiped down their sauna and equipment upon exiting. I also like the convenience of being open 24 hours! Lastly, I’ve had my membership since June 3. To date I’m down 2% in body fat AND the inflammation I had in my knees has subsided! No. More. Pain! It’s amazing what a little....okay....a LOT of heat can do! Long story, not so short....I HIGHLY recommend this place!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I am so glad I joined. I was nervous about it because I am a bit self-conscious and a beginner to all things fitness, but they have all treated me so great. I cannot say enough about Hotworx Smyrna! Especially during these uncertain times, the staff here has always gone above and beyond ensuring the safety and health of the members. But since re-opening, they've added in extra measures for cleaning protocols, they added in sanitizing stations, reminders for social distancing (including markers on the floor), they've communicated with all of us members to keep us informed of any and all information necessary to ensure we are protected and the overall cleanliness of the studio are spectacular! I'm a germophobe but since Hotworx reopened, I've come EVERY day! Being back in the sauna and the studio has not only benefited my overall health physically, but mentally as well! There should be an option for 10 stars! Because I'd definitely give Hotworx Smyrna a perfect 10!

Today was the first day I visited HOTWORX Smyrna. I have been to HOTWORX many times before, but today's experience was my very favorite because of the friendly atmosphere while still taking many precautions during COVID-19. Eliza, the sales associate, was working so hard cleaning the entire time all while greeting people. I wanted to stretch on my own in a studio after my (awesome!) cycle session, but I hadn't booked it and she happily checked and found me an opened studio with a cancellation in the booking. I love the quotes on the bathroom walls. Love HOTWORX!

This is the best kept secret in Smyrna! The infrared sauna is so key in helping with my arthritis and giving me the sweat I crave with each workout! Most importantly, I have been so impressed with their Covid-19 compliance with deep cleaning, masks, disinfecting equipment, saunas and social spacing. The BEST!

I absolutely 🧡 Hotworx, the entire concept is amazing especially for the person on the go! My only issue is that the app could use some tweaking and updating to pair properly with your tracking devices. But overall , this location has friendly helpful staff members. I love these girls !!!
