I have been part of the Iron Tribe East Cobb community for more than 4 years. Losing weight is no longer a goal for me. Reducing fat while increasing muscle mass, mobility, and bone density is where I am focused and Iron Tribe has been key to all of these. I also respond better to encouragement over pressure to perform and have always been intimidated by gyms.

This year, I added personal training through the Prime program. I have a personal coach who designs a program based on my needs and goals including strength training, cardio, mobility, and nutrition. As a woman in her 50s who wants to live a full life well into her 60s, 70s, and 80s, at Iron Tribe, I have found my method and my people. While the team is fantastic for both young and older members, if you are a woman over 50 who has never lifted a barbell like me 4 years ago but would like to improve your fitness, you are never to old to start at Iron Tribe East Cobb.

I spent a lifetime avoiding exercise and certainly running from all gyms like they had a global virus. And after 46 years, I succeeded in being substantially overweight and completely out of shape.

On September 30, 2019, I started a 6-week challenge at a place called Iron Tribe. It was designed as a watch-what-you-eat and mix in some exercise plan. In two days, I lost 7 pounds. 12.5 in the first week. 26 over the 6 weeks. I felt better, looked better (I think), and something else amazing ... I actually liked going to the gym. I enjoyed the exercise.

Fast forward to today. I'm still down a net 20 pounds (I put some of the initial loss back on). But I have continued to get stronger and am very cognizant of what I eat. I'm not always good at the will power thing, but I am fully aware of what causes those gains. I still love the workouts; and a lot of that is because of the people. The coaches are simply amazing. They're not just there to churn out some workouts and be done with it. They all truly and really care about your journey. During the pandemic-induced shutdown, they loaned out all of their equipment to us and started offering several Zoom-based classes every day. They really worked extra hard to try to help us make it through with some sanity and a waistline resembling what it was at the beginning.

And the other members ... it's just as amazing with them. There is a very real camaraderie and mutual encouragement that never seems forced. And at the same time, there is a friendly competitive drive to help us reach those next levels. All of the support and coaching and genuine care, mixed with the fun and fast-paced workouts and nutrition consultation ... it blends together into a delicious cocktail that has us all coming back time and time again for more burpees. πŸ™‚

Iron Tribe has been my go-to gym for almost 4 years now. Class sizes are regulated to 20 but usually only have 10-15 members max. Coaches will watch your form and scale the workout to be both safe and effective. If you haven't, you should give ITF EC at try!

I joined Iron tribe last September during one of their transformation challenges. I was a little intimidated at first, but with the knowledge and support of the trainers/coaches and the amazing group of people who workout there, I really enjoy it. Transformation is a great adjective to describe how I feel. Working out here has not only transformed my body (down body fat and increased lean muscle mass) it has transformed my thinking about exercising. I love my tribe! I had never lifted weights or done any kind of exercise other than running in my life, and they trained me and worked with me until I was thriving! I felt strong and healthy going into my first pregnancy last year and they modified the workouts so I could continue until I was 7 months pregnant! Because of how healthy I was, I only gained 20 lbs with the pregnancy and had a healthy baby boy! They have been a huge support system and I love seeing the same people and working out in more of a team atmosphere, with a little bit of healthy competition to push me just a little bit harder!!

All you have to do is show up. Show up and let the coaches take you through warm ups, work out, and cool down, all in 45 minutes. You will leave fulfilled, no matter your level. Every day is different, and the variations of workouts are endless.

My wife and I joined over a year ago and we love it. We tried other gyms for years and never felt at home. Then we were invited to Iron Tribe. Very quickly we could tell this place was special. There are 2-3 coaches per class, classes are typically 10-20 people max, and each coach is focused on making sure the movements are done correctly to avoid injury and get the most out of each workout. I am competitive, so being able to compete against others helps push me to do more than I could ever do on my own. You don't have to be a super athlete to do these moves. Although there are numerous ex-pro and college athletes at ITF, the majority of people that workout are "normal" who prefer to go through life looking and feeling good and staying in great shape. Sitting at a desk 9-10 hours a day is horrible for the body, mind, and soul. It is amazing what a 45 minute workout can do to improve your life.

If you like crossfit, you will love ITF. If you hate crossfit, you will love ITF.

I strongly suggest you drop in and meet the awesome coaches (Andy, Brian and Sam) and see what we are doing. Try the 101 class, or come by on a Saturday morning around 9:30.

Iron Tribe is definitely something special. The evening instructors are a Godsend and some of the most wonderful people I have ever met in my life. And the members are fabulous, friendly and ALL fun. You get your workout in and social time too. Go in after the worst work day ever and you will come out feeling like a million bucks. Learning how to use a barbell and push myself has changed me. Only complaint is the lack of more weekend hours esp Friday nights and Sundays. Give Iron Tribe a try, you will love it.

My husband and I found Iron Tribe through a friend and are grateful to have found such a great gym. While we had previously been in shape and exercised regularly, we were sidelined because of injuries and turned to walking a bit, and holding down the couch as our exercise program. My blood pressure started to inch up and I was beginning to worry. After a couple of months at Iron Tribe, my numbers are back to normal and I feel much better.
