There are barely any classes at this facility. The aerobic roomIt’s always cluttered with weights and stuff that you have to to try and find somebody to clean up before the start of the Zumba class. Forget the water aerobics most of those classes are constantly being canceled. they basically have one Zumba instructor, one kickboxing, instructor, and one cycling instructor

The staff here is friendly, courteous, and polite, which I really appreciate. The gym is also fairly well-equipped overall. However, it’s lacking kettle bells, and the cardio equipment—especially the stair masters—are filthy and give off a strong odor. The overall facility feels unsanitary, and the cleaning crew seems to do the bare minimum. Doors, mirrors, and glass surfaces could definitely use more attention. With such a great team in place, it’s a shame the cleanliness and maintenance don’t match the level of service.

Don’t bother getting there when they open on the weekends because there’s a 50/50 chance you’ll be waiting outside for 30+ minutes. Also, your car might get broken into in the parking lot. Other than that the gym is fine.

I have been beyond happy with my first impressions of this La Fitness. I had been on a long fitness hiatus and this experience was nothing but welcoming. Ebony greeted me as a first member, got my guest and me situated very quickly while also making conversation with us (and easing our nerves). All equipment was in working condition and clean. I noticed employees constantly cleaning equipment (especially cardio) and giving tours to potential clients. All promised facilities were there and looking great. I definitely highly recommend this location.

I really enjoy the convenience of this gym being located in the neighborhood, but I would like to see more security. Paper towels in the locker rooms male and female. The music should be universal not just hip hop. That is what draws young kids looking to hang out like it's a club into this gym. It has gotten better. No recent car break ins that I have heard. We need to take care of this gym. The staff has gotten better.Instead of sitting on the phones, they should walk around the gym more. The young men always greet me and are so helpful and polite. Keep up the good work. To the owner, please stop thanking people only when they leave a positive review on this site. This shows your lack of compassion for customers that also have a voice and pay to keep your doors open.

One of my favorite locations and I’ve been to many locations , They have the best life’s a peach smoothie you’ll ever taste at the smoothie bar inside and they have the most dedicated and helpful staff ,I want to give a shout out to Tray at the front desk for helping me regain access to my mobile app he was relentless in making sure i had access to my mobile app and I am so thankful for that. my biggest pet peeves are the bathroom is never clean and always has a foul odor similar to a dirty gas station. and there’s never any paper towel to dry hands and sometimes no soap to wash hands. The womens bathroom and pool are filthy!!! Black mold in the showers. The tile grout is black. The sides of the pool above the water line is black also and the spa was broken. All the handicap spots were taken with cars without handicap tags. When I brought my parking problem to the attendant I was told that a request would be put in, whatever that meant, it didn't change the parking situation. I made mention to a cop being in the parking lot and the attendant told me "Oh that's nothing unusual here. I do not recommend this facility and I will not be returning.

The gym is always dirty, stair masters smell horrible and the worst of all is that they lock in weight equipment and don’t have the keys for guest who are paying monthly $40 to use them. I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service and conditions at this La Fitness facility. My tour, conducted by General Manager Byrd, was unacceptable. The facility was unclean, and the staff displayed a concerning lack of professionalism. Mr. Byrd failed to show me key amenities, including the sauna and pool. His demeanor was sluggish and unenthusiastic, significantly detracting from the experience. Furthermore, the parking situation is inadequate, and the class calendar is severely limited. Compared to other options, such as Planet Fitness, or the Ymca which offers comparable services at a significantly lower cost, I see no value in a membership at your gym.

The lack of security at this gym shows the organization's negligence in protecting its members. On Friday November 29, 2024 after an altercation on the basketball court gun shots could be heard from the gym's parking lot. On December 21, 2024 there was an auto break-in that resulted in property damage to 3 vehicles and a firearm being stolen. This adds to the long list of crimes that have been and continue to be frequently committed on this property. Fitness International and/or franchise owners are not doing enough to protect its paying members. Even the security cameras that are installed on the building are useless because they do not provide playback. Without security I am afraid something more drastic is going to occur on this property. I am sure this is not the only LA Fitness location that could benefit from security. As members of this location we have to demand impactful change.

If you want to settle for a gym where your vehicle is broken into, poor customer service and a Operations Manager who is focused on hitting on females, L.A. fitness at Covington Highway is the gym to join. I live 10 minutes from that gym, but after getting my vehicle broken imto,along with three other members, I drive to a LA fitness (sugarloaf) in Gwinnett county. When the responding officers asked the employee at the desk to view camera footage, his response was "our cameras don't have a play back feature)... I have reached out to Dekalb County via Open Record Request to get crime stats for this location. Those figures will be posted here soon so everyone is aware.... I have discouraged four individuals from joining L.A. fitness

This could be a great facility if they had better staff, the facility does not open on time, however, the staff rudely makes sure that they close on time. There is a puddle of nasty liquid in the men’s sauna that’s been in the sauna for from my observation quite a few months. I worked out yesterday on 10/1/24 and I realized I left one of my gym shoes. Knowing they had a lost and found I was like I will just get it the next day. Went and ask one of the workers did they find a shoe in the men’s locker room and he said that if they see something 9 times out of 10 they will throw it away. I was left speechless a 65 dollar pair of work out shoes and it was just only yesterday and yall through it away?? Once the point of lost and found, and the Conyers location would NEVER! I have been going to this gym for years and watch it deteriorate over time! The only reason I stay going to this gym due the convenience of location!

Here are the many reasons I despise this gym:

1. Theft/ Break in of vehicles

2. Dirty facility ( no soap in restroom dispenser , floors and equipment are filthy with sweat droplets, never see anyone mop, no cleaning wipes, ceiling tile with stains, used paper towels on the floors, windows blurry )

FYI …. I would never shower there …. On two separate occasions I witnessed nasty 🤮

For example, I was forced to shower there because I would have been late to work … I noticed a band aide in a shower. So I went to the next shower…..only to come back the second day to see the same band aide laying in the same place …

Second example ,

I saw a lady throw up in the restroom on the floor . Tell me why that same crusted throw up remained piled up for weeks… 😩😩

3. There are a lot of “ Out of Order” signs posted on equipment

4. Inconsistency of management and staff !!!!

5. Doesn’t open on time

I brought these issues to attention of a manager ( I cannot recall name ) because he is no longer there . I remember he stated that he was new and something about funding .

I wish I was making this up !!! This gym and its members are done poorly wrong 😑 I wish I had pictures for evidence but I didn’t want to bash my community … so I remained silent hoping it would change!

Since going to this gym over 7 years span .. the facility only has been remodeled once and that was just a section of the gym….

This particular la fitness has members by default because they are close by these communities and are the only gym with a pool and basketball court. They'd be severely out matched otherwise. The cleanliness here is pathetic. The mens locker room has MOLD and massive dust and bacteria particles spewing from the vents its disgusting. Toilet seats are literally falling off the hinges. The jacuzzi hasnt been cleaned in months the water and bubbles are a light brown color. The aerobic room always has an insane number of weights, mats, and medicine balls tossed on the floor. And there is never an employee anywhere to be found besides lounging around on the phone at the front desk. The papertowel distributors are ALWAYS empty and everytime i try to gather cleaning solution to wipe my area down after i use it they are out... I'm not naive I get it, employees dont want to be there they'd rather be doing something else with their time. But leadership should be fired and replaced and they should find and train people who will actually DO THEIR JOB. It's a miracle people arent dropping dead from bacteria infection alone in this slum of a gym.

Very inconsiderate staff only because management allows this behavior. Morning check is not necessary there no one ever sitting in the front. Theft - Cars not safe in parking lot. The cleaning crew cleans in the morning and sprouts workouts and sauna time. To management - try cleaning 1 hour before closing so customers who actually pay to enter or membership can enjoy their gym time. Hire
New Management and staff to make this facility a good representation of LA Fitness.

No staff present at front desk like EVER and when they are, rare, they dont care which allows non members easy access. I PAY for the privilege to use the facility so to see big groups of people sneaking in/ not scanning their membership qr code whatsoever then me not being able to use machines or basketball court because its packed out of NON members. Its not a free open court hoop session its for paid La Fitness customers. def mismanagement sadly.

I have been a member of LA fitness for 15 yrs and have been to the majority of LA Fitness in Ga and with confidence can say this is top 5 worst in the state. All year 2024 theft/car breaking have been occurring with no accountability or action from the gym employees itself(other than on the overhead gym speaker, cars are being broken into and at this point we can't say how many). Operations manager literally said " I didn't even know a car was broken into last night (5.13.24) " and proceed to state " I did everything I could do, I contacted Dekalb county police station to get patrol present to no avail." She literally said "since you called I will actual go to the station today" and "I'm a worker I park there too" as if she is not the manager. After filing a police report and speaking with Dekalb county police, basically this location used to pay for security and no longer does so please be aware and proceed accordingly.

Byrd was extremely helpful in signing me up. He patiently walked me through all the steps and answered any questions I had about the facility. The gym was new so all the machines were as well. From what I saw all the facilities were well maintained and clean too. Would recommend this gym to anyone in the area.

This is a pile of sweat in the sauna. It’s 2 feet in diameter, dirty and has been sitting there for a week from what I’ve been told. It’s definitely more then a day old because this is a compilation of sweat and build up of dirt. How can I treat this place right if they don’t themselves. Staff and cleanliness sets the atmosphere or it’ll get worse. Everyone in the sauna said they talked to staff yet nothing is done. This is disrespectful. If staff was doing their job a little better It wouldn’t be there because it takes a while for a compiled mass of sweat and dirt from different people to build up like that, not to mention it constantly stinks. It’s not a respectful environment conducive to health and taking pride an wellness center and incorporates negligence in many aspects. OSHA, BBB, and other corporations need to see this nonsense apparently complaints do nothing. It’s horrible, unaccountable and unacceptable to treat people like this. My suggestions is have an hourly clean up. It helps also for sanitation wipes and purposes please order this ahead of time. Those are rarely seen.

Never any sanitation wipes and if there are, it's for half a day and that's it. How do you open with no wipes available for people to use which tells me nightshift does nothing. Staff doesn't sit at the front desk, they are walking around talking or working out including the one who said she was the manager here. Machines are old and rusty. You will pull up and find window glass on the floor which means constant car break-ins.

Changed my review and lowered stars. The renovation was just lipstick. Certain machines have been inoperable for MONTHS since I started working in the area (July 2022).

• 1 Shower inoperable (no water pressure)
• 3 treadmills inoperable (1 very noisy, 1 bounces)
• Decline Chest machine broken (for a year)
• 2 Step machines broken, 1 cuts off at 2 min mark)

If corporate doesn’t take note and fix issues, that says a lot as to what they think of members. Frankly, I’m disappointed…..

Apr ‘24:
• Decline Press machine fixed finally
• Treadmills operable (most of the TVs are broken. Been broke since I’ve been coming. Why not remove them?)
• Stair machines still go out (still smell like urine)

The new upgrades at this location are great. I usually go in the mornings and it wasn't too crowded. The only thing that needed a touch up were the lockers (a few were broken) and the shower soap dispenser was broken and on the shower floor. Other than that it was pretty clean and everyone was polite and professional.

I’ve been going to this gym for years and it’s been going down hill. 1. Security is very needed cause car break ins are becoming a regular thing around there. Very time I pull up there’s alway new broken glass on the ground. 2. A good number of the equipment needs so touching up on as well.

Sadly I had to switch gym locations because I didn’t feel safe there anymore. There’s never anyone at the front desk to appropriately check people in because the staff is too busy working out and/or socializing. Car thefts occur quite frequently there and not to mention the men that workout at this location constantly harass the women and are there just to merely socialize. This location was remodeled just a little over a year ago yet there’s been a hole and leakage from ceiling in the women’s restrooms for at minimum one year now, and most of the equipment are damaged again or missing. For a predominantly Black community we surely want better for ourselves but do nothing to help with this. If we’re not taking care of our own community and resources then no one else will respect the space. L.A. please do better. To be honest this location needs to be shut down at this point. I pray that I never see the members at this location at the LA that I’ve transferred to. It’ll only bring down the vibe and community.

I’ve been coming to this gym since 2019. It has truly gone downhill. The theft is outrageous. My car was broken into last night. The front desk did nothing about it. I called the cops … Sat and waited(heard gun shots by the way) and the cops never showed up. There’s no security. To speak on the gym itself, it’s very dirty. The upstairs portion of the gym near the stair steppers and ellipticals smell of sweat and have been for months. I usually switch up my La fitness location even though this location is the closest one to me, but last night I opted to go close to home.. I regret it considering the events. The gym took no accountability for the incident being that the parking lot is dark and there is no security. I also found out that just two days prior.. 4 cars were broken into at that same location.
