I’m extremely disappointed with this gym. I canceled my membership almost five months ago, yet they kept charging my bank account without authorization. I even spoke with a manager who promised a refund, but nothing was ever processed—and then they charged me again.

This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. If you value honesty, transparency, and basic customer service, beware of signing up here. It should not be this difficult to cancel a membership or get your personal information removed from their system. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this gym to anyone.

Overall, I really enjoy this gym. Has basically every machine I like. My only complaint is half of the time, there are no paper towels. Sometimes I go to the gym one day in the morning and there's no paper towels and I'll go the next day in the afternoon and still nothing. Same thing with wipes to clean machines. Other than that though, ever since the remodeling and fixing the bathrooms, I like this gym.

I was simply washing my hands when the cleaning lady looked at me and said, “Hey, clean up after yourself.” I wasn’t splashing water everywhere at all. I was literally rushing and she seemed like she was having a rough day, but she didn’t have to talk to me like that. It honestly felt like she was upset at me just for washing my hands. I really like this location, but that comment made me think about canceling my membership.

This entire facility has only two disabled parking. Even after repeated complaints, they have not expanded it. And they also love their customers to block the ADA Walkway by parking the car right on the walkway. There is no strict policies maintained to support disabled candidates.

**Update 11/18**
I can honestly they have stepped it up sincey previous reviews. There's a new younger guy at the front desk who I regularly see helping out. Paper towels and wipes seem to be a regular thing and the people hogging the showed seem to have stopped. Kudos to management and staff for making this a nice gym to visit again.

I give up on this gym. Everyday it's the same thing, no paper towels, no soap in the showers, people hanging their towels at the shower and going to workout...always the same. Meanwhile people are sitting upfront or at their desks on their phones. They spent all this money to remodel just to offer the same poor experiences. I don't care how close it is, I'm going to another location or another gym altogether.

The only reason I frequent this gym is the proximity to my house. The sauna is out often which I can admit is the fault of people who put water in electric operating equipment. My main issue with this gym is cleanliness. There are rarely wipes to clean machines, paper towels are barely refilled and I would never dare step into those showers without anything on my feet. An addition to that the people in this gym take up space like laying towels on empty machines, put towels on showers they're using, and seem to be a little extra inconsiderate of other people in a gym setting.

Just got a remodeling!! Availability of equipments declines drastically during weekday evenings, but apart from that this location is top class!! Swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna makes this facility stand out!! Money well spent!!

In this they made me paid 170 but to sign up and then 120 per anual fees 14 days later. They day that I decided to bring a guest with

Awesome gym. Very clean and spacious.
The environment and energy in this gym is extremely welcoming. I love coming here.
Cody is especially accommodating and very helpful, even helped to bandage my knee when I scraped it. Humanity like that is hard to find.

As someone who is wheelchair bound it means the world to me that this gym is a judgement free zone. I highly recommend this gym to everyone.

Ally was very helpful with a billing issue. Ended up finding out I was being billed twice a month. Got it resolved so I appreciate that. I’ve been going to LA fitness since 2017. I like the gym, but there are a few things that could be improved. For example, there is often no paper or soap in the men’s restroom. It would be helpful if someone could make regular rounds every hour to check these areas and restock whatever is missing.

Another thing I don’t quite understand is why bags are not allowed in the training area, while several tripods are permitted throughout the gym. I personally don’t want to appear in someone else’s video just because they want to post something on Instagram. The gym is not for one person alone; it’s a shared public space. It might be worth reconsidering these rules.

Lastly, I don’t understand why it seems so difficult for some people to simply throw away the trash they leave in their training area. It’s such a small gesture, but it shows respect and consideration for others.

I went for the first time to check out the place to maybe sign up last night, Friday, August 9, 2025. I paid $20 for the day pass, but the staff were incredibly dishonest. They took advantage of my ignorance that they closed at 9 p.m., and at 8:30 p.m., they sold me the pass. I find it dishonest that they took advantage of me by selling the pass. Honestly, the place is spotless.

Great gym — spacious, tons of equipment, and enough dumbbells to make even your ex jealous. Only downside? The shower cleanliness could use some work. I want to share a frustrating experience that happened today. I was doing walking lunges on the turf using the 25 lb Olympic plates from the squat rack. To protect my back, I went to grab two larger Olympic plates to make it easier to lift overhead without compromising form especially since I was on my last set and already fatigued.

A trainer (I believe his name was Brendon (tried to find his name online on the website)around 5’5”, dark complexion) approached me and said I wasn’t allowed to use the Olympic plates on the turf. I calmly asked if I could just finish my final set, explaining the safety concern, but he denied the request, saying, “If I let you do it, then everyone will.”

I didn’t argue, I switched to the smaller 25 lb weights, and unfortunately, I strained my back trying to lift them from a lower height while tired. I left the gym immediately after. There’s no other designated area for walking lunges except the turf, and without access to bigger plate options, I’m limited in how much weight I can use without risking injury.

Most LA Fitness locations I’ve visited that have a turf also provide at least one set of Olympic plates nearby. I understand the no-bag policy (even if inconvenient), but at the very least, please consider placing a dedicated pair of Olympic plates at the turf to accommodate functional training.

This gym has great potential, but the experience is starting to feel more restrictive than supportive. I’ll update my rating if things improve.

Please renovate this gym. Every piece of equipment is old and out of date. Not enough cable machine grips, all the cardio bikes are destroyed. Half of the machines have a paper attached saying they’re in need of service don’t use. Entire gym just seems out of date which is unfortunate because it’s such a great location. So many people come here and it would be nice to see a revamp. Please invest in your spaces! Especially the ones that are actually creating revenue for the business.

Pros - new workout equipments (treadmills, more stair masters, and ellipticals, etc) and workout areas.

Cons - I was hoping for some change in the locker room like different locks to prevent theft/break in but didn't seem like much was done. Sauna - wood replacement for seating. Nothing done to the restroom or shower stalls

I'm membership more than 7 years but lately is so busy morning or afternoon. There are a lot of people but some of them don't work. Five or more people stay in the same machine doing nothing and the rest can't work.

Worst LA Fitness i have visited in e years as member. Basically a parody of bad gym behaviors, got the video studio guy, the gym bags blocking water fountains, group workout blocking weight rack etc etc. I stopped my workout and left, before leaving I asked the lady at the desk for a postit to write on managers name to complain, she refused both requests. I got my phone out to write down the info (bc she wouldn't give me a post it) she immediately accused me of recording which she hilariously said was a rule violation. I want to share my experience at the Duluth LA Fitness and recognize Sonya. Sonya has been working at the LA Fitness on Duluth Hwy in GA for several years. She greets every guest and goes out of her way to insure every aspect of the gym is clean. She cleans the restrooms far bettter than any other LA Fitness, and I have visited them all over the US. Sonya deserves recognition because she never complains. She smiles, and does her job. You will never find her just standing around or hiding in the back. She makes sure the gym is clean. January 30 2025: my locker recently got broken into in the men’s side and they only stole my cash from my wallet which was like $140. This is the second time my lock has been broken into, but the first time I had nothing to take. Watch your belongings at this gym. The thief stole my money between 5:30-6:30pm. Worst LA fitness I’ve been to and it’s my home gym, staff is great and cleaning staff is great just over worked. The best way to put it is the staff does the best with the facility they have. Don’t get a membership here!! It looks really nice when you first visit, but once you get a membership, you will see the equipment is hardly maintained, the people who go here lack any education on basic hygiene and etiquette (they basically see the floor as a trash can), there are puddles of sweat all over the place while the front desk sits and watches Netflix on his phone, and you cannot get a reliable workout because IF they even open on time, they will close their gym for even the slightest bit of weather. “Ooh! There’s one drop of rain, gym closed for a week.” I only train here because it’s the only place that makes sense while I’m in town, but I’m cancelling in a week. Revisited the gym this morning for a yoga class. Gym had 7 mats in total and all were being used. Front desk said people are apparently taking the mats home! (So that's the kind of crowd to expect, on top of the other mentioned issues). Giving up the hardwood floor of the yoga class, I headed upstairs where the treadmills are. Poor ventilation - very very smelly. The two rowing machines are Still broken up there. They have been broken for half a year since my last visit when I could no longer use them. On July 26th around 8:30 - 9pm at the ‘Sugarloaf location in Gwinnett GA’ my gym bag was stolen. Gym manager Monae was called but nothing was done or said to ensure me of what they would do to make sure this incident will be resolved. Front staff treated me as if I did something wrong when all my valuables in my gym bag was stolen off their premises. This isn’t the first instance of someone stealing at this location. I’ve been going to this location for the past year and they allow too many individuals to come In without a membership. I’ve witness non members pulling out guns 2x in the last year. Not only that someone has stolen from me before and he was banned then allowed back to later cause an altercation with me. Every time I would bring a concern to the front it’s brushed off. Even when the same member who was banned and readmitted through corporate was allowed back in threatened me until the point cops had to be called to la fitness. after this I was never was reassured nor apologized for this uncalled outcome. Aren't you suppose to feel safe and secure when in attendance at la fitness facilities. Not only that but every time I’ve had a issue there’s always a older Asian lady that’s sitting up front that works for la fitness that doesn’t cares and will make you “the victim” feel like you did something wrong.

This place is awesome because of the Personal Trainer James Kennedy..Every personal training session with him is extraordinary and he goes the extra mile to ensure his students are progressing in the right direction..Also, he gives tips and suggestions to stay healthy and fit and his attention to minute detail is commendable..Greatly appreciate his sincerity and dedication in training his students..Also, the GYM is well equipped with all kinds of training equipment and also the GYM is capacious..Overall I’m very much pleased with this Facility..

This gym has become a disaster from outside parking lot to inside, the back dumpster became a public trash dumpster, big trucks parking lot, a used cars sale next right to the dumpster, unsafe area. Inside men restrooms is filthy always running out of paper towels, the sauna is broken for nearly 3 weeks and still didn’t get it fixed, old Asian men naked walking around even signs everywhere that kids may in and out cause of kids swimming class, basketball ball room always smells like weeds. Hope they will have a new management soon cause this one is not doing the job.

On July 26th around 8:30 - 9pm at the ‘Sugarloaf location in Gwinnett GA’ my gym bag was stolen. Gym manager Monae was called but nothing was done or said to ensure me of what they would do to make sure this  incident will be resolved. Front staff treated me  as if I did something wrong when all my valuables in my gym bag was stolen off their premises. This isn’t the first instance of someone stealing at this location. I’ve been going to this location for the past year and they allow too many individuals to come In without a membership. I’ve witness non members pulling out guns 2x in the last year. Not only that someone has stolen from me before and he was banned then allowed back to later cause an altercation with me. Every time I would bring a concern to the front it’s brushed off. Even when the same member who was banned and readmitted through corporate was allowed back in threatened me until  the point cops had to be called to la fitness. after this I was never was reassured nor apologized for this uncalled outcome. Aren't you suppose to feel safe and secure when in attendance at la fitness facilities. Not only that but every time I’ve had a issue there’s always a older Asian lady that’s sitting up front that works for la fitness that doesn’t cares and will make you “the victim” feel like you did something wrong.

This fitness area is very clean compared to others in the area. Water temperature in the pool is very nice. I have seen Miss Sonia cleans every day with pride and dedication. I wish I had her as my housekeeper at the hotel

I go to this gym because it's closest to my home but it's way overdue for a remodel my husband sent me this Pic of their sauna. And the woman's restrooms are not much behind. And apparently most of the shower heads in the men's showers don't work

This gym is filthy. Not only are the restrooms and locker rooms dirty and unsanitary the gym floor is even worst. I try to avoid this location because of how disgusting it is. They shut the water off, how are people supposed to wash their hands after using the restroom and going on the gym floor to touch equipment. If you want to catch a disease, full Covid are something else this is the place for you.

I sign up back in October, paid almost 300 for a family memership. I specifically said I wanted to go here because is close and I needed the kids club. The guy said he would call be to let me know when the kids club would be available. Will I went there zero times because til now the kids club is closed. I went in January to try to cancel but he offer to freeze the account. Instead of doing a refund? He said oh you could of cancel before 10 days. Will I was waiting for him to call for the kids club. He said will freeze the account that way whenever the kids club is open I don't have to pay all the fees. He never explained I would be charged 10 a month for that. I call customer service and they say that they can't refund anything. And the manager there is never available. Basically a scam. The gym smells horrible and the machines are old. Not worth the 500 I got scammed with. I would give zero stars for the unethical business their running.

Gawd...I hate this place,and has nothing to do with staff or the place,although they do have some issues. I go to the gym to work out and that's it! That's all I want!! What else?!?! But obviously that is not what a lot of people,young folks, go there for. They sit on the bench play with phone,talk to buddies or looking at themselves in the mirrors..etc. They use this place for their hang-out or pick up girls or boys ,taking up space and in the way! You see them walking around mindlessly,looking at everyone and talking,laughing without lifting weights. So frustrated... I use my valuable time to go work out,only to wait for them to finish their gossip so they get their behind off the bench for 30 min to hour or more!

1. People treat this place like a club, wearing tight revealing clothing…no one wants to see that while working out.
2. Machine hogs/ talking more than working out.
3. What is up with people recording themselves working out? You will run into a lot of that at this gym.

First time ever coming to a gym. I've been needing to come for years but never followed through and was kind of embarrassed to go. I had a doctors appointment recently and my doctor told me I had to start working out for my health so I finally made the decision to come check it out. Rylee was so welcoming and positive, she made me feel like I was in the right place. I told her why I was coming in and she congratulated me for taking control of my health. She gave me confidence in myself and made me feel very good. She let me know that she understands how I am feeling and me coming in was the biggest step being taken so I already got past the hardest part. She told me about their personal trainer and how they could customize an entire personalized workout routine for my specific needs. I have now gone from feeling down and being unsure of myself to now being excited and pumped about starting to work out! I cant believe how great she was and how amazing she made me feel. She showed me that she really cared about me and my health and was truly just an amazing young lady. La Fitness is very lucky to have an employee like Rylee. She should be the face of the company.

I was very pleased with the fact that LA Fitness accepted Silver Sneakers! I had a young lady named Rylee help me set up my account and she thoroughly explained everything to me and took the time to make sure I understood how everything worked. I really appreciated how kind she was and she was very welcoming with a bright personality. She said she is new to the job but she seems like she has been working here for years with her knowledge. I signed up for LA Fitness to play some basketball, and this court is always full. Specifically, there are typically 20 to 30 people on the court. In addition, people are playing full court all the time and so only 10 people get to play and the rest of 20 people are all around the court running into each other.

LA Fitness really needs to implement a half court only rule or not allow 30 people on the court at the same time. This court is basically like a neighborhood playground for people and not a gym.

I went in as a guest and was greeted by a young lady named Rylee (cute name) who took the time to show me around the gym. She was energetic and friendly and made me feel like this was a great fit for me. She was very professional with a positive attitude!

My wife and I came in today for the first time. Rylee gave us a tour around the gym and explained everything so well and answered all of our questions. She impressed me with her knowledge and kindness. She went above and beyond to accommodate us and smiled the entire time. Every time she saw something out of place or a piece of trash, she picked it up and threw it away. She truly goes the extra mile to make sure the gym is clean and guests are well taken care of. I’ve been a member for a couple years, and was disappointed for the very first time. No complaints on the staff however this location is far overdue for renovations. The picture of the men’s bathroom speaks for itself. Also the landscaping work outside needs some work, as it’s not up to par and there’s trash all over the parking lot and in bushes.

Unfortunately, I am a member of 15 years with a lafitness.
An employee opened and holded the sauna door and asked to leave 5 mn before the closing time because do not get paid after 10PM.After reporting to his manager, as a result, now the sauna closed 15mn earlier, and their turn off the sauna switch 45mn earlier. This rule only applied at 1860 duluth hwy location.

I’ve been going to the Sugarloaf location for the past year and in comparison to other La fitness facilities in Gwinnett County this one is by far the cleanest and most up kept location. Customer service here is amazing, from the staff members up front to the the cleaning ladies they are always in such a positive mood with always a smile on their and greeting you every day.
