Love my Zumba instructors—Allynne on Saturday mornings and Kat on Monday evenings. They both have their own unique style, but they bring plenty of fun and enthusiasm to their classes. They keep their dances fresh, and you can’t help but leave feeling motivated and uplifted.

Their routines are engaging, and their music choices are perfect. They make everyone feel welcome, no matter their level.

this location was genuinely really clean and well maintained, new manager lady is very rude. these last few weeks have been very off i always have to clean up a piece of equipment before using it, and even the bathrooms are dirty. this new management they have is terrible. LA fitness here was once a community, now its like a workout amusement park, will be switching to crunch / planet.

Horrible customer service. After paying for years to keep training credits, I was suddenly told I couldn’t use them. When I called to close my account, Manager Monica immediately got defensive - repeating her name, lecturing me on how I need to “document” who I spoke with, and insisting over and over that I wasn’t being “fair” to her. She even pointed out that she’d been a “risk manager for 20 years,” yet never once asked how she could help or what could be done to fix the issue. Instead, she asked what my “expectations” of her were. The tone was unprofessional, the attitude dismissive, and the service nonexistent. LA Fitness will gladly take your money, but when it comes to support or accountability, there is absolutely none.

For some reason this place is closed on Saturday nights?!? I live across the street and there's never any cars in the place is closed on Saturday night it's barely open at all. I trained there for 6 weeks once I bought a 6-week physical trainer pass, & he did not train me correctly. He had me doing things that kept me from being able to sit on my toilet or walk for the next few days I was so sore you should build up to that but he did not he was just some young 24 year old and he didn't know what he was doing. So I never went back. I ended up getting the glp shot and I've lost 45 lb but at the time I was obese and I had an exercise in a while and they did not physically trained me correctly to where I'd even want to go back at all I was in so much pain I could barely sit on the toilet and I was having a hard time walking so don't get physical training there, it's stupid they're not smart about it and they're open at weird times and they close on Saturday evenings, I live right across the street and I know that

A few weeks ago, I left a review detailing how I showed up at this LA Fitness location at 7:50 AM, expecting the gym to open at 8:00 AM as scheduled. No one opened the doors. I waited until 8:30 AM before leaving — over 30 minutes of my morning wasted, with ZERO communication, ZERO explanation, and absolutely NO staff in sight. I called it unprofessional then. I take that back. That word doesn’t even begin to cover what this has become.
Fast forward to now — it's happened again. Twice. On two different Sundays. Same exact situation. Doors locked well past opening time. No sign. No notification. No apology. Just members standing around outside like it’s some kind of joke.
Let me make something crystal clear: we are paying for access and consistency. Not “maybe we’ll open, maybe we won’t.” Not “show up and find out.” I structure my mornings around being able to train at this location before work. That means your failure to simply unlock a door and do the bare minimum completely derails my day.
This isn’t just an inconvenience anymore — it’s a pattern of complete mismanagement.
So now I’m done being patient.
I want a direct answer on the following:
Why is this repeatedly happening?
What permanent solution is being put in place to prevent it from happening again?
When and how will someone from management or corporate be contacting me to address this?
You have my information on file. If you value your members at all, someone will be reaching out.
Because if this is how you're going to run this facility — with no accountability, no respect for your paying members, and no effort to communicate — then don’t expect loyalty, and don’t expect people to stick around. We’ll take our money elsewhere.

Past 2 Sundays this gym has not been open at the stated 8am open time. Many people standing out front. Most of whom have left. If you're going to charge more than discount gyms then you, at the least, need to be open when you say you are. Really embarrassing.

I truly appreciate the facilities and programs this gym provides. However, I want to share a concern based on a consistent pattern I’ve experienced at the front desk.

On a recent visit, I politely asked the receptionist if my children could use the basketball court. I received a very short and cold response, with no greeting, no eye contact, and no warmth at all.

What concerned me more was that when my mother-in-law — who is older and of a different race — asked the same question, she was treated with warmth and kindness.

I’ve also noticed that when my white friends visit, both the receptionist and other gym users seem noticeably more friendly, engaging in small talk and smiling interactions that I have not personally experienced.

I am not accusing anyone of intentional discrimination, but I do feel that there is a clear difference in how people are treated — possibly based on age, race, or appearance.

As a person of color and a person of faith, I believe every guest deserves to be welcomed with equal respect, regardless of who they are.

I share this feedback not to criticize harshly, but to encourage more awareness and fairness in customer service. A little kindness goes a long way in making everyone feel valued.

Absolutely unacceptable experience this morning. I arrived at this LA Fitness location at 7:50 AM, fully expecting the gym to open at 8:00 AM like it’s supposed to. I have work at 10, and I plan my mornings around being able to get my workout in before my shift. That means starting my workout right when the doors open is crucial for me.

Well, 8:00 came and went — no one opened the doors. 8:10, still closed. 8:20, nothing. I waited until 8:30, and at that point I had to leave. I wasted over 30 minutes of my morning standing outside, just hoping someone would show up and unlock the doors. No staff, no explanation, no communication at all.

This is not just inconvenient, it’s completely unprofessional. If your gym is going to be closed for any reason, the least you can do is post a sign or notify members in advance. Some of us have schedules we’re trying to stick to and this threw off my whole day.

I’ll be reaching out to corporate about this because it’s not okay. Members are paying for access and reliability, and this location failed on both fronts today. If this is how you’re going to run things, don’t expect people to stick around.

Dear LA Fitness Public Relations,

I’m writing to express my frustration and request a resolution regarding a recent promotional offer I attempted to redeem at your location.

I visited your gym in person to sign up for the advertised promotion of $43 total cost through July 6. I waited over 30 minutes, only to be told there was a computer crash and I would need to return on Monday. I returned as instructed, well before closing time, but no sales staff were available to assist me.

Today, when I called to follow up, I was told the promotion was no longer available and that nothing could be done, despite my repeated efforts to sign up in good faith before the deadline.

This experience has been extremely disappointing. I invested my time and followed instructions provided by your staff, only to be denied the promotion through no fault of my own.

I respectfully request that LA Fitness honor the original $43 promotional offer, given the circumstances. I am still very interested in joining and hope this situation can be resolved fairly and promptly.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

I’m disappointed with the cleanliness standards at LA Fitness Sugar Hill. On my recent visit, I found puddles of sweat left on multiple treadmills by another member. It was not only unhygienic but also completely unacceptable in a shared workout space.

There seemed to be no staff nearby monitoring or addressing the situation, and it made the entire environment feel neglected. I expect better upkeep, especially in a facility that promotes health and wellness.

Cleanliness should be a top priority—this was just disgusting.

Been a member here for years. The staff are excellent and the place is clean. Issue is they cannot seem to keep their equipment in good repair. The leg machines are always broken and the response is the same- we put in the order and it will get repaired. Time to get a new system or new machines. Heading to La fitness in cumming on leg day. Not as convenient but their equipment seems to have better maintenance.

I have been to LA fitness in Irvine CA, Cedar park Texas and Brandon Florida. This location is poorly maintained. Dry sauna is disgusting. Showers have black mold growing on the ceiling tiles. 50% of the showers do not work and some are missing actual fixtures. There is a lot of equipment that is non functional and has been that way for weeks. I sent an email to corporate and no action was taken. I guess corporate doesn’t care about this location. Maybe it is struggling financially and they don’t care. My experience in Austin and Brandon FL was excellent. Most of the staff are nice but this place needs a lot of work.

The equipment is excellent and quite comprehensive. Unlike other LA Fitness branches, this location has plenty of cardio machines, which is a big plus.

However, the main concern is the cleanliness. The entire gym is consistently dusty, and the bathrooms and locker rooms are always dirty, with extremely unclean floors.

This isn’t a one-time observation—I’ve been a frequent visitor for over two years, and unfortunately, the gym has never been properly clean.

Don’t ever leave your children in their care. Maybe it’s changed since I’ve been there but the experience of coming back after 45 minutes to finding my child covered in excrement, cowering in a corner and going on to tell me how she was treated has never left me. I picked her up and never went back. It may be a good place to work out but don’t let their childcare be a selling point for you. From my experience the minimal staff is focused on the babies and completely ignores anyone over 10 months.

Update 2/10/25: I'm adding a star to my previous review. I have noticed they are keeping the equipment clean, and I see staff regularly cleaning the floors and workout areas.

The staff is friendly. The gym itself is very dirty. You can see dry sweat drippings on the sides of the treadmills, exercise bikes, and ellipticals. While there are several cleaning stations provided for members to clean machines after they're done using them, I notice most people don't. There should be a staff member making sure the equipment is clean. I have gone to the gym every day for the past two weeks, and I see the same dust piles on the floors around the machines and the same sweat stains. The floors look like they've never been cleaned. For the price we pay per month, plus the annual fee and sign up fee, it shouldn't be that dirty and the equipment should be cleaned regularly.

I’ve been going here for a little under a year, previously went to Alpharetta. Staff is always friendly and helpful! Everytime I’m in I see the staff thoroughly cleaning the gym and equipment. Basketball courts never get swept.... Even after resurfacing the floor. When I asked for the floors to get swept, I was told it wouldn't happen today because there were people. When we offered to stop playing, was told they don't have the broom. That was Saturday morning Jan 4th. Sunday morning I came in and the same trash was on the floor from Saturday and no seeing had occurred.

I recently joined LA Fitness about four months ago. I enjoy the facilities and the overall services provided. However, I am dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the facilities. The female and male restrooms, as well as the showers, require a thorough deep cleaning from top to bottom. The saunas are unsanitary and should be sanitized at least once every two weeks. This is my only complaint.

Nice gym and great location! Lots of cardio equipment and machines. The staff only occasionally greet you but they are helpful when you have problems. I wish they stayed open until 10pm M-F for those of us that work out in the evenings. Sometimes I have to shorten my workout if I don't get there soon enough on Fridays when they close at 9pm. WiFi access is easy and reliable.

Terrible experience at LA FITNESS! 😡

Today I visited LA FITNESS with my 7-year-old daughter, hoping that swimming would help regulate her anxiety symptoms. After registering and getting a 7-day trial, we started swimming in the pool. Not even a minute passed before an enraged representative of the British Swim School (which rents the pool for its lessons) ran up to us and started yelling that my child was not allowed to be there! 😠

The LA FITNESS manager stated that children under 14 are not allowed to swim in the pool. But there were already dozens of 5-8 year old children swimming in the pool! It turned out that only those who paid the British Swim School were allowed to swim. This is discrimination! I am a member of LA FITNESS and I have the right to equal access to services, like everyone else. 🤬

What outraged me the most was the rudeness of the school representative (Tina). She yelled, interrupted, and rudely kicked us out of the pool. However, she communicated politely with other black people. This is discrimination based on skin color! 😤

As a result, we were kicked out, my child was crying, and her ADHD symptoms worsened. The LA FITNESS manager admitted that this is discrimination and a monopoly of the British Swim School. 😡

I have already found a lawyer and we are preparing a complaint to the Antimonopoly Committee and a lawsuit for discrimination against both companies.

This location will sign you up at any time and any day of the week, but when it comes to canceling your membership they will ask you to come in on weekdays between 9:00 to 5:00 to see the quote unquote operations manager. Because I couldn't do that for over a month, I paid without my daughter actually using the club. Then another location simply did the cancellation on the phone. this is a sad little dimly lit location, the Johns Creek one is much better. Stay away from this location for its unfair business practices.

Why is the pool hardly ever accessible to actual club members, at least at times that are convenient to work out? And, so tired of the small kids from the swimming school, who are not club members, occupying the showers, especially the handicapped one. Why are they there.

Have no problem with the gym itself as I've always liked LA fitness however it is still not unnoticed that they went to abbreviated hours during Covid a couple years back and they decided to keep it that way to save money on payroll basically cutting into our membership which did not decrease in price even though I have a much more difficult time making it there after work now and have missed countless workouts as a result. There is no reason in the world the gym should close at 9 o'clock on Friday night an hour earlier than every other night even though it is just absolutely ridiculous and greedy. I'll continue at this gym because I like the people I've met and I like the equipment. But the minute something comes along that is better for a similar price I feel zero loyalty because of their lack of loyalty to us and I'm jumping ship when that happens.

Pros:
Staff is friendly, especially the lady at the front desk and the manager, Mr. Metcalf, made signup easy.
Not too busy.
Equipment isn’t old.

Cons:
- No knee pads for things like cable crunches (you have to go into the Zumba room and get a yoga mat to triple over).
- No dip belt (they used to have one so I asked a PT about it and he said it disappeared so they just don’t have one anymore, not even for his clients).
- kettle bells are for PT clients only.
- rowing machines are for PT clients only.
There’s only 1 decline bench and it’s on the opposite side of the gym from the Smith machines.
- cleaning stations aren't conveniently located, you have to grab a bottle at the front door and carry it all over the gym with you, prompting many ppl to just forego cleaning altogether. This isn’t a COVID thing, just a cleanliness thing.
- There’s only 1 short bar for straight arm pull downs or other cable exercises that you don’t need the long bars for.
- One of the leg extension machines and a few others have cracks in the plastic-covered padding that pinches your skin.
Also, one of the leg extension machines has a crooked bar so your left leg is higher than your right.
- The cable machines are just shorter than normal. 😅 I’m 6’2”. Tall but not THAT tall. But the machines are too low for me to just do a high-cable side bend. Odd.

Some inconsistencies on the machines: you might be trying to do cable crossovers, but the right side machine has 2 carabiners crimped on between the cable and the handle, and the left has 1, so you’re out of balance. Nitpicky, yes. But when you use the gym often, these things are annoying.

UPDATE:
The year is 2024 and we are still operating on Covid hours. The last pic is what the gym looks like on Sunday morning at 7:55 AM… people lined up outside waiting for the doors to open because overselling memberships wasn’t enough for LA Fitness’ bottom line. They’ve run the numbers and decided that, whether their members like it or not, their bottom line does better when they stay closed longer. Imagine a gym that doesn’t open until 8 AM lol that’s crazy.

The locker rooms with the showers and bathrooms are not kept up. I don’t know if their pay to the custodians is not competitive or what. I do know that they have trouble maintaining.
Also, it takes months to get broken equipment repaired. The equipment’s itself is very good. But maintenance is ridiculously long for minor repairs.

By far the cleanest gym in town. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about healthy lifestyles and habits and how to maximize your workouts. The group fitness classes are the BEST! Zumba with Rubi, Aline and Erica is the best cardio workout a girl can ask for. Jacquez knows how to get you fit and in shape. He is always so professional and helpful. Such a great addition to this Sugarhill location.. Jonathan is the best! Very friendly and approachable with great communication and leadership skills. Alex has exceptional leadership skills, truly cares about staff and people and the gym. She always has a listening ear for concerns and gets the job done! I signed up at the Buford location, and that gym is super crowded, tried this gym and it was very clean, the machines seem well spaced and you’ll have no trouble if you come and do your workout. Restrooms is where many gyms lack cleanliness and this one passes. Like that they have sanitizing wipes!

Have been a member of LA Fitness for a number of years, 13 at least. Started going to this location when it first opened. I am writing this review and giving it the single star because of a recent experience I had this evening with an employee.

The Employee Zoey Lee said she is the new Personal Training Director. I actually spent more time trying to get her name so I could report her unprofessional behavior to the corporate number than I did with the actual altercation that caused me asking for her name.

She was in a heated argument with two other members over the personal training area. Recently, this location had her come in within the last couple weeks to as she put it "revamp the area". Most members that have been at this location for any length of time will tell you that the area is hardly ever used by the LA Fitness staff, but a lot of members used the area. Quite frequently, actually. She said that they are now enforcing the policy on the posted signs stating the area's use per the signage.
I attempted to enter the argument to provide Zoey Lee and the members some context on their arguments to hopefully deescalate the situation.

Zoey Lee's response was to say that I was threatening her now too. I was taken aback at the response given that I did no such thing and she continued arguing with the other two members; stating amongst other things that "and if I have a client I will tell you to exit a machine or bench on the floor if I need it and you have to follow that instruction".

I asked to have her name so that I could file a complaint with the corporate office considering I had not threatened her and her tone, which was already unprofessional had now turned antagonistic and extremely hostile. She refused to give me her name, I asked to speak with the person in charge. I was told he was at his desk, I asked where that was and she told me to "find him over there just get out of her face."

I did speak with Jonathon M. the Fitness Sales Manager who told me that he did not know her last name but that her first name was Zoey. I asked if he could pull up her employee number and or her email address so that I could properly identify the employee that treated members with such disdain. He said that they do not have employee numbers and could not disclose her email address. I repeated again that all I wanted was her first and last name so that when I call the corporate office to file a complaint it would be against the appropriate person.

This charade went on for about 10-15 more minutes, with Zoey interrupting the conversation that I was having with Johnathon M. to tell me once more that I was wasting my time and hers. I again asked Zoey in front of Johnathon to please provide me a way to appropriately identify her to the corporate office and she refused.

Johnathon M. again told me that he did not know her last name and that this have not been the first time that she has antagonized members with her approach and handling of the company's policy for the personal training area. I told Johnathon M. that I would call the corporate offices and provide his information as he was listed as her superior and hopefully he would be able to direct the corporate folks to the appropriate employee. That is when he told me that her last name was Lee. Zoey Lee. Zoey Lee in the midst of this exchange told me to just do what all the other "idiot members do and threaten to just quit the gym, but never do because we dont matter". I informed Zoey Lee that my personal health is worth more to me than her approval or lack thereof.

I rate this place with a single star not because of the enforcement of the policy that is well listed inside the gym about the personal training area. I write this one star review about Zoey Lee and her absolute inability to understand how her immense unprofessionalism when dealing with members(which by the way if she handled it correctly she could have maybe tried to SELL SOMEONE ON THE UNUSED PERSONAL TRAINING AREA INSTEAD OF BERATING MEMBERS ABOUT THE POLICY).

Traffic is horrible to my other gym, so I relented and joined LA Fitness since it's down the road from my house.
I did the cheaper monthly option that requires an enrollment fee, and pay the first and last month.
Then when I went to check out, there is a note that states the annual fee will be taken out 14 days later. I called the gym to verify this, and the gentleman explained this was the case then wished I signed up inside so he could get his commission (SMH...)

Why can't they just make that the whole amount due at sign up? Basically they're double dipping. I paid it...but that practice seems deceptive to me.

I don't even go here, I just got a biscuit from McDonalds, and noticed the wait. Decided to enjoy the biscuit and see where this goes...not disappointed.

It’s good enough but it’s a very small gym compared to other LA Fitness gyms and they use way too much area for personal training . Not near enough room or near enough machines to accommodate its members.
That and there are lots of problems with broken showers, broken plumbing and big messes that stay broken and messy for weeks and weeks

This LA fitness is making it very difficult to cancel my membership.
I visited this place on June 14, the receptionist said to come between 9 to 6 as the manager is available only in that specific time.
On next day June 15th, I drove for 30 mins to visit the place around 5 pm to see the manager, but again I was told that manager has left for the day. And they don't even offer any online option to remove my membership.

This is your typical La Fitness Gym Experience, not bad, has everything you need for a good workout including a lap pool, and sauna. For the price you pay monthly $40.00-49.99 USD, it’s a really good deal for the amenities offered! I go there to play basketball a lot. There is a girl there that most of us believe is on the spectrum. Her parents just drop her off and leave her there. I respect all people with her condition but the gym is not a day care. She sits in the basketball gym and eats her dinner often spilling food and drink on the court (very dangerous) and then proceeds to harass the players as she pleases. This happens every single day. She wanders in the middle of the court during full speed 5v5 games and has almost caused countless injuries. One day it's going to happen. We have made multiple complaints about the harassment and danger she poses to herself and others. On other occasions she refuses to move off the court and ruins as many as 20 - 30 people's opportunity use the facility that they pay to use.

No outside cameras, someone hit my car and damaged my bumper and drove off when my car was parked in the Lafitness parking, when I called and asked they told me go to Kroger and ask them to look at their cameras which are 1000 ft. away, Lafitness is nowhere close to that kroger. Lafitness parking is offset from Kroger's parking, I called anyways and they giggled and said sorry our cameras does not cover that parking lot! Not a nice way to brush off a member that has asked for help!!!

It’s always packed and you have many members just sitting on the racks and not using them. I wish you guys can enforce a time limit. I have been a member here for 2 years. A pattern I have seen over the year is that some folks always clogging up the line and using their free guest passes for the free trial. They close close this gym doors locked by 9:30pm on the weekday when the time is 10pm. The Duluth location on pib doesn’t do this. SMH

This is my go to gym for the past 4 years. The only reason I didn't give it 5 starts, is because the men's locker rooms are usually not very clean. I wouldn't say they are horrible, but they certainly aren't kept up on a regular basis. Other than that, I love this gym. Would certainly recommend if your someone who lives close by and doesn't frequently use the showers/ facilities.
