Just go to Planet Fitness. It’s less than a mile away, they stay open late, and although they don’t have a sauna they do have tanning booths— and the membership is cheaper.

The front desk was very rude and racist towards different races that came into the facility. I stood there and watch how they approach Hispanic people, African-American people and other races that was not their race. Also showed bad body language towards individuals that came in to check-in that was not their race. There’s a guy that stands in the front with a hat on every time that looks like he’s in his 30s very rude. Didn’t introduce him self with a name. Just wanted to talk about memberships trying to make a sale instead of having good customer service not knowing my husband has a membership already. When my husband came to work out with the boys he overheard the guy at the front desk with the white hat on talk about the kids to an older men that looks retired that stood there with him at the front desk. Very rude place. Very unprofessional. Very unorganized.
This was all over a daily pass to get in for a day due to my husband, not being present to use his pass for the boys to come into the gym which has never been an issue. Usually just give phone number and boys go in with no issues. This rude guy in the white hat wouldn’t take the phone number. He said that he had to be there at the gym, but really good customer service the guy in the white hat should have said go on our website and you can get a three day free trial instead of charging family members that comes in every week to get in just for one day knowing that we have like 15 free passes all due to my husband, not being in the gym to sign them in at the time . These boys and other boys come to the gym all the time with no issues but due to the different race, they treated those boys very rude.

Been here for 10 years. The staff turnover is constant because the pay is terrible and there are no benefits, even for full time employees. (Only long term are a few contracted trainers and our wonderful Judy who tries single handedly to keep the place clean.). The dry sauna for the women has been broken for almost a year. The hot tub is Broken more than it works. The latest issue is the heater is broken, but was never vented properly . (20 years and not in compliance?) corporate doesn’t care as long as the payments are coming in. I suspect there is a bonus for unused maintenance funds, which keep things broken or repaired poorly, so they break again. They also allow teenagers to come in unaccompanied by an adult, some of them destroy the gym floor with food and drinks and let their friends in the side door.
It is disappointing how poorly run this business is. The problems come from the top and we see the results as clients. Yes corporate has been contacted.

Women's sauna has been having issues for a year now, management seems incapable of doing anything to repair the root of the problem. Was told that the sauna is so old the manufacturer does not keep spare parts in stock, so they have to be made by order and the lead time is extremely long. It will work for a while then burn out again. This cycle has repeated several times over the last year. It has been down for several weeks straight now and nobody at the front desk has any idea when it will be repaired yet again.

This is by far the best and cleanest LA fitness in metro Atlanta. Staff are extremely kind and respectful. The men’s locker room is cleaned almost hourly and is basically flawless. I have been holding off writing this review for a while as I don’t want to blow this spot given how bad the majority of LA’s are in Atlanta but this is just a diamond in the rough. Props to whoever is running this location. Sauna is super clean, gym is always organized and the clientele are very clean/respectful of others. I’ll continue driving an hour from east Atlanta to go here

We had a locker with a combination lock that was missing when we returned to the locker after a workout. Earlier we had seen a trainer with bolt cutters and did not think anything of it until we discovered our lock was missing. You could tell that the locker had several major scratches around the locking area. The trainer that had the bolt had already left and when addressed the issue with the front desk, nobody seemed concern. Why would someone cut a lock without leaving a note or something? This is not the first time we have had issues with the trainers of honesty.

Outstanding Phone Support from Lily!

I spoke with Lily, the manager at LA Fitness, over the phone—and even without meeting her in person, her professionalism, warmth, and clear communication stood out right away. She took the time to walk me through my online membership agreement, explained everything with patience, and made sure I fully understood what I was reading. Her ability to break things down in a calm, respectful way really made a difference.

What impressed me most was how balanced she was—professional, yet incredibly personable and easy to talk to. She made me feel completely comfortable and supported, which you don’t always find during phone interactions.

Due to some medical reasons, I needed to cancel my membership. Lily handled that conversation with complete empathy and understanding. She made the process smooth and respectful, and her kindness truly turned what could’ve been a frustrating moment into something positive.

Lily is a perfect example of what excellent customer service looks like. LA Fitness is lucky to have someone like her representing the team!

I was working out up there today and went to the front desk and asked a girl named Melissa if they had any La fitnesses in Arkansas. They have about 20 TV's up on top but only turn maybe 2 on during the morning. Guessing they want to save energy and have 2 people walking on the same treadmill to watch TV or stare at empty screens the whole time? Re-writing my review as some changes have been made. It seems that the staff have begun taking more initiative to making sure the gym is clean. Machines, however, do frequently require maintenance and take a very very long time to get fixed. This can be particularly frustrating during busy hours when machines fill up. Definitely need to replace crossramp cardio machines that are missing buttons and phone holders. Otherwise, great gym with kind staff!

I had a highly disappointing experience with the customer service at LA Fitness Woodstock, Georgia. My interest in becoming a member quickly soured due to the unprofessional behavior of an employee named Tom at the front desk. Despite missing their call, Tom rudely hung up on me not once, but twice, displaying a complete lack of courtesy and respect. And when I called him the third time why you keep hanging on me it is not respectful to call and to keep hanging he said okay So What!! It's baffling how someone in a customer-facing role could be so inept at basic communication. Prior to this encounter, I had been contacted by someone named Aiden about a guest pass, which led me to believe that my membership process would be seamless. However, Tom's behavior has completely turned me off from pursuing membership with LA Fitness. It's evident that the staff here lack the necessary skills and training to effectively engage with potential customers. I met one of the staff members out in town while doing my grocery shopping and he was very polite and offered me a complimentary workout at the gym. Recently rejoined this LA Fitness after a 2 year absence due to a severe elbow injury. What I found is a very clean, up to date, fun environment. From the moment you enter the place, you are greeted by your first name and asked how you’re doing. In my case they ask how my elbow is responding to working out again, so they are aware of my challenges. Trainers Tyler, Tanner, Antonio, Melissa and Logan and all the rest of the staff seem to enjoy interacting with folks which is something I never experienced in other clubs.
I highly recommend this facility for top notch equipment, clean gym, and fun employees.

LA Fitness, the staff, and having a personal trainer have saved my retirement years. Joining a gym was never my plan. Then Covid. Now I need a gym. I joined in January and was scared I wouldn't feel comfortable working out around all these healthy, fit people. I signed up for training and I couldn't be happier. Logan is amazing. He understands my needs and what I am trying to accomplish (not having to live with an oxygen tank) and he pushes me to get stronger and better. Christian at the front desk is always so friendly. Taylor and Antonio greet me by name every time I come in. I love the water aerobics they have on Monday night (wish they had more night classes) Even the guest are friendly. I love this place.

I dislike how the company runs the memberships. They pride themselves on not forcing you into a contract, but have contract locked-in business practices, methods on collecting funds,& stipulations on cancelations.

Also, they need some true qualified Early Childhood college majors AND/OR nannies hired to be in that childcare room.
Raising & watching children seems easy, but it requires a certain skillset & personality. I've encountered a few short tempered, unattentive/distracted, and some just down right nervous individuals some nights.
One of the guys in the child watch room seemed intimidated by my toddler 😩🤭 Understandably so, if he has no children or young children he encounters daily. It seemed as if they just threw him in there 😆😅♥️ My eldest child (7 years old) had experienced some physical contact with another child who was much older than he was (Approx. 12 years old) - which was not reported to me but had been seen.
My husband and I made a report already, but still wanted to bring awareness to it.

All in all, aside from the children ...the facility itself was decent.

DO NOT JOIN! The membership people lie to your face and cancelling is an ordeal. The facility is marginal at best and has poor air circulation. I'd give zero stars if I could.

The most used equipment is the lowest quality. No one touches the new turf but the leg extension machine barely functions. Only two squat racks for how big the gym is with that much money is absolutely embarrassing

You Can't never get into the equipment because always people are waiting and so many people and they have too little equipments. This is just ridiculous and so inconvenient so many people so less equipment and they even made a huge personal training area at front and took a lot of space which they supposed to put equipments. This is very disrespectful for the members and very inconvenient.

I've been a member of this gym since August of last year and it was good the first couple of months but when new people came in and took over, things started going downhill equipment didn't work and it was changed out periodically. The swimming pool and the hot tub were constantly down every time I got to go and today when I went the pool was completely drained and they did not know when it was going to be back up, The hot tub had cold water and they didn't know when they could get in there to fix that either.

This is the best LA Fitness in the area. It’s never too busy, and there is plenty of space to do whatever you want to do. I love the athletic training turf area at the front. The staff are friendly. It’s kept clean. Great group fitness classes.

I am going to second a lot of the negative reviews for this place. Their lack of communication and always referring back to Corporate Offices showcase their lack of ownerships when there is a problem...and there are a lot of them! NONE of the negative reviews have been answered by L.A Fitness which right there confirms that they do not care!

I've been going a little over two weeks now , and nothing weird has happened as I read in previous reviews here . Everything is clean , tidy , lots of Sanitizing stations in place and only a few machines here and there are out of service . I will say that the cleaning crew need to work more and chat less to friends when working . I had to wait while , the lady who was spraying showers out to finish over a half hour convo with her friend , was done . Other than that I have been enjoying this Gym , a lot . As have my guests . Update 12/1/22 . The going to the gym great feeling and experience has slowly declined, although the gym has newer machines added, you can rarely use the pool and hot tub, today I went only to find that the health dept had shut it down and the club was awaiting recertification and reopening. I joined this gym due to the advice of my Dr , for swimming, and its been in maintenance more than I have been able to use. I could travel further from my home to one of the other clubs in my area but Woodstock is closer. This upsets me enough that I may pull my membership altogether and go to a less expensive club with no pool. Why pay for pool and hut tub and not be able to use them.

I can't speak for the entire facility but if you are looking for a heated pool, don't even bother to come here. The "heated" pool is not heated. It's been broken for at least 3 weeks (mind you, we are in December! It needs to be heated!). Finally, they fixed it but it broke again the next day. Finally, they fixed it, just kidding! The DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SHUT IT DOWN because the level of chemicals is too high. Seriously?! This is dangerous! But not only this, LA Fitness wants to keep it quiet so they don't let anyone know that the pool isn't working or that it's been shut down for a few days, so you show up to swim and surprise! you have to go back home. But wait there's more... today I'm going on week 3 of not being able to use the pool and the pool is the only reason I pay for this gym so I'm just giving money away as LA Fitness offers a service that CAN'T BE USED. I spoke with the Operations Manager and asked for at least a pro-rated refund for the time that the pool has been broken/shut down and she said there's nothing she can do but that she could give me the phone number of the company that does the maintenance of the pool. I'm in shock... what do I have to do with the maintenance of the pool. I did not hire them! That is her job! Unbelievable. Stay away!

The atmosphere of this gym was uncomfortable for me from the start. It is always incredibly busy - like a nightclub. I switched over from Planet Fitness because I got injured and needed to use the pool for my cardio. The pool has suspicious grime and dark mildew on the edge. I've used the machines (when available), but now I'm 6.5 months pregnant, and I simply haven't had time to go. So I went in today to cancel my membership. When I walked in, the girl at the front desk asked me why I wanted to cancel. I responded jokingly by saying "You know, I'm just too pregnant." And she responded rudely, "Pregnant people should still be working out." I'm shocked. This is so unprofessional, rude, and insensitive. Happy to cancel and can't wait to return to Planet Fitness.

Jacob did an excellent job of setting me up with Grayson, one of the trainers. What amazes me is at my age (70+) that I have made much progress in all areas - more muscle, less fat and my BMI is in the good range. I was doubtful, but Jacob said I would see good progress. He's right! I'm very happy. Thank you Jacob and Grayson!
