Signed up as this gym came recommended by my friends and weβd be going together after work. The gentleman, Beretta, who signed me up was very welcoming and helped explain everything. Then, the next time I returned I was accosted mid-workout by the owner who βhad no idea who I wasβ and demanded an explanation. After explaining that Iβd signed up the other day, I was told I should have introduced myself to him, a person who Iβd never met nor did I know he was the owner. I was greatly disappointed by his attitude considering I thought the gym was a nice place to get some serious lifting done. I wonβt be returning and the only reason I donβt give 1 star is because Beretta was a pleasure to work with and the facility is nice enough.

Not Olympic Weightlifting friendly... Parking is really tight. Which⦠hey, is totally understandable right outside of metro atl.
As an Oly lifter there are no actual calibrated KG plates. There is one full set of 5-25kg, then 3/4βs of another set. Some of the equipment in the Oly room would be ABSURD to use as an actual Oly lifter. The change plates are 90βs old school 2.2 / 1.1/ 1.13kg uncoated plates, so your math will be wonky. The βolyβ bars are just ancient rusted vertically stored rogue bella bars that truly need to be retired. I wouldnβt recommend any oly lifters this gym for anything long term. The owners were VERY strict. Just A LOT of signs with rules that are mostly βnon-spokenβ rules in an average Oly gym. No one was rude to me, I just donβt think the cons outweighed the pros in looking for a gym to be a member of.

Old school iron gym! I was an out of town visitor and was welcomed by the staff for a drop in fee of $15. Got a great workout without the hassle of a corporate membership. Will return.

If your looking for a old school Mom and Pop gym with a bunch of rules this is your place .. Equipment is old but in good shape and they have all the basics you would find in a 90's power house type gym.. prices for memberships are a bit higher then what I would expect for the lack of amenities they offer but still not a bad place .Staff is basic and trainers are cheap compared to industry prices. You get what you pay for. All in all if you want to throw Iron with that Home Town High School gym feel then check them out.

Stopped in for a day visit (15$). As other reviewers said it is strict and there are a lot of rules but I would argue that they are all there for good reason. When I had questions everyone there was very helpful and I had a great workout. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Love this gym. Went to train with five other athletes and was able to squat, bench, and deadlift on competition style equipment and kilos. They have great equipment, everything is kept clean and in great condition. Itβs a smaller gym but there was enough room for my party and the other usual gym goers to get a great workout in. Ms. Jean (owner) is the absolute best. She is sweet and welcoming and will make sure you put everything back in its place to keep the space organized. 10/10 recommend

Stopped by for a $10 day pass while traveling. This is not an LA fitness if that is what you are looking for. Its a small power lifting gym. That being said, I had a great workout. I highly recommend

I was passing through Atlanta for a few days and planned on visiting Marietta barbell, it was a great choice, I was warmly received, and shown around the gym, even as a temporary visit, I was able to pay a day rate, and everyone inside was friendly , the music was great, great warm up room for stretching and kettlebells , and boxes. (this is a weight lifting gym) they have a few cardio machines, but its mostly weight training and powerlifting equipment. I am not powerlifter trained, more of a bodybuilder / weight training. it was -->.AWESOME <-- if your from out of town, --> GO HERE <--, if your from in town, --> you should be a member <--.

Love this small family owned and operated gym. There is a wide selection of machines, racks, plates, benches, bars, dumbells, and accessories to choose from. They even have giant truck tires outside for flipping, farmer walks, etc. Wide range of clientele, from younger folks and regular guys like myself, to serious power lifters. The friendly atmosphere and great people who run this place make it truly special. Ms. Jean (owner) and Tom have made my family and I feel welcome from Day 1. Highly recommended.

I worked in the fitness industry for over 15 years, competing in both powerlifting and Olympic lifting. I moved to Marietta a few months ago, after switching careers, and was so excited to see a barbell gym nearby. But since moving I have called this place SO MANY TIMES for information and no one ever answers the phone! All the other local gyms are cookie-cutter βgive me your moneyβ gyms and I was excited to possibly join somewhere smaller and more barbell oriented. Sadly I donβt believe Iβll ever even be able to get anyone on the phone

My husband and I were in town to see family and worked out here for a week. They gave us a great rate for the week and the staff was helpful and friendly! They also had all the equipment we needed. There was no AC, but that didn't bother us too much. We will be coming back for future visits.

I was blown away with the team sportsmenship and uplifting and understanding atmosphere. When I arrived I everyone was welcoming but you could tell by the feel of the room that you around very experienced personal. After 30 minutes of pure shock of how strong the members of Marietta barbell are and also how clean functional the gym was I was induced to want real functional lifting looks like. I love lifting weights but some the machines I had never seen before, each member was quick to explain how and what it worked. Let me put it this way I will be going again. To all the members of this gym thank you for one of the best gym days I had in years it was worth the six hour drive to me. A side note the World Champion is still the beast of iron realm.

This is such a great gym. From the first time I walked into here, Mrs. Jean was one of the friendliest people I had ever talked to. Everyone is eager to help and will give newcomers a hand. As far as the actual gym, it's mainly for powerlifting, but there's no reason why it isn't also a great bodybuilding gym. There are tons of great machines on top of the wide selection of barbells, and there's no shortage of plates. Only con is that it can get a little hot. Otherwise, 10/10.

Came here on vacation during my powerlifting meet prep, and I have to say it is one of my favourite gyms Iβve ever been to. Perfectly combines the old school gym atmosphere with top notch powerlifting equipment. The music thatβs played here carries the same feel and I barely caught myself with my headphones in here. The owners are very nice, helpful and hospitable to all members. Wonderful place to come in and get some work done.

The gym owner gave me a tour of the gym here today. The gym is probably the cleanest and most functional strength place north of the perimeter. I think champions are created here. On a diferenent note, the gym owner is a very nice person and even recommended me to a competing gym in the area once I explained my goals to her. She is probably the nicest person I have ever spoken to in Atlanta. The members here have it nice! Seems like one big family!

Due to COVID hotel gyms are closed so I needed a place to workout during a week long business trip. Iβve been going to gyms for 25yrs and this one is one of the best ones if youβre a dedicated hardcore weight lifter. Weight equipment is solid, numerous, and have a great staff thatβs knowledgeable and will take care of you. Donβt come here expecting to do lots of cardio as that equipment is limited.

Well equipped. Here's my story and some constructive criticism.
As a new guy, the second time I went, I parked across the street because the gym side was full. In the lot across the street, spaces along the office building are marked as exclusive parking to that business, but there are no signs for the ones along the bushes. On my departure, the gym owner's wife came out very upset, informing me that I can only park there after 4:30. Said she told me before, but I really don't think so. My bad, won't do it again.
The 3rd or 4th visit, I asked for a pen from the office and grabbed one of the two from the sign-in sheet, as well as a business card, to log my lifting. This resulted in a talking to about how business cards are expensive and the issue of people not signing in if there's no pen, even though I wouldn't have taken the pen if there was only one.
On my most recent visit, I was deadlifting with bumpers in the Olympic room. This is bad. My first day there I had asked about a sign that says "absolutely no deadlifting..(etc)" because she said bumpers are okay- not steel plates, and bars are marked for no deadlifting in the Olympic room. I had also seen other folks do clean and jerks etc and asked specifically if DLs are okay with bumpers, and they thought it was fine. The room is full of Olympic lifting stations, after all.
Soo, my most recent time I was in there deadlifting with bumpers by myself and she showed up very upset, asking if I was deadlifting. Saying she can't trust me, and that kids built the lifting platforms so they can't hold up to dropped weights. I had deadlifted in that room every single time with no issue until then. Looked to me like she was about to cry.
This all has made be feel pretty dumb. I like the other guys that work out there and have tried of be respectful of the gym and the folks. I unfortunately won't be coming back because of my experience.. the drama is stressful, even though I'm typically pretty zen. Please type the rules on a piece of paper and go through them all on the first visit.

The owners are really nice, easy to work with. The gym is a classic old school style where most of the dudes are more focused on their progress and not noticably gawking at women working out. I appreciate that Im not the only woman here thats actually lifting heavy weight. I like that I can drop the weight when I deadlift and no one complains about it, this is actually a safety measure. I dont want to worry about rounding my back when Im lifing so much weight. Ive had lower back issues in the past so its very satisfying to still be able to lift heavy. It doesnt make sense why some gyms are against this and insist upon a person lowering the weight slowly and quietly towards their last rep when the body has become fatigued: thats a recipe for injury.
