The McCleskey-East Cobb Family YMCA features three full-sized soccer fields, two lighted tennis courts, an outside pavilion, and other amenities serving all ages. So much more than a gym, the Y offers programs and services to respond to the needs of our community in the areas of youth development, healthy living and social impact. Through swim lessons and water safety, day camp and afterschool, group exercise, community wellness, hunger relief, and more, the Y provides opportunities for everyone to reach their full potential.

We are so glad the YMCA is there. We would like to spend more time walking and running around the jogging track upstairs. We walk 30 times around and run every 5th time. It's great fun and keeps us in shape. We figure every time we do this, it helps our bones and muscles work. There is no need for walkers or other helps to walk upright!

I love Zumba, yoga, strength, and spin - the variety of classes available. When my kids were younger, the Y provided me with a much needed outlet, as my kids enjoyed the included childcare while I danced my stress away. Phew an hour to myself! Currently, I most enjoy the pool and sauna (it's like a mini-spa day after every workout). The facilities are always clean and well maintained. I love the diversity of the membership. Summer camps, sports programs. The opportunity to volunteer. The community giving through the Little School, food distribution, supporting early literacy, and safe swimming. My family has participated in all of it. I love my Y.

Iβve been a member here for a while and normally enjoy the space, but thereβs one employee Brent who honestly makes the gym uncomfortable and unwelcoming for a lot of people.
Every time I see him, heβs gossiping loudly about coworkers, talking down to others, and acting like heβs running the place, even though heβs not in any position of authority. He bosses people around, raises his voice constantly, and makes a big deal out of other people having conversations even though he has full-blown loud chats with his own friends all the time. The double standard is clear.
But what really bothers me is the racism Iβve personally seen and felt from him. He treats people from different countries especially those who speak with accents or βlookβ foreign like they donβt belong. He gives certain members side-eyes, makes subtle comments, and overall acts like heβs above them. If your skin color, accent, or background doesnβt match his, itβs obvious he treats you differently. Itβs blatant discrimination.
Iβve watched other staff get uncomfortable around him too, and I can tell Iβm not the only one who notices. The energy shifts when heβs there. Nobody wants to be in an environment where someone is making others feel lesser because of where theyβre from or how they look.
This gym has the potential to be great, but one bad apple can ruin the whole experience.

Has good facilities, but they do close only swim in second half of the day during summer saying storm is coming even though there is sun in the sky and not raining for next 2 hours.
Also generally you will not get any pool space in afternoon time, they start paid swim lessons. So no benefit for YMCA members !!

Went here to go swimming and workout. I enjoyed the cute guys in the locker room they were really nice. As a guy myself I was able to rizz up this guy Connor and I went swimming and worked out with him. Even got his number!! 4 stars because when we went swimming we got scared by the creepy pool drains in the deep end and we were almost there lunch!! U could feel the suction we screamed and swam away so fast! Definitely coming back here though!!

This is a great workout facility with all the typical cardio, weights, cable machines, etc you would expect. They also have a pool, basketball court, and even racquetball courts. Their classes are also great with friendly instructors. Best yet, they are a non-profit so you can support the community while you work out and improve your health.

The YMCA used to be a very family and customer centric operation. I recently moved back to the area and wanted to check out McClesky YMCA. It was on my short list for a gym.
Very disappointed in McClesky! Called 3 times on 3 different days during normal business hours. I could NEVER GET A PERSON TO ANSWER THE PHONE and ask some questions/schedule a visit.
Finally we just drove there and showed up to workout and see the place (~7 pm and they close at 9). They donβt permit a guest pass and were quite cold and unwelcoming. I guess we wonβt be joining the YMCA.
Many of the gyms in the area are less expensive and willing to let you try it out once before you commit. Even a car dealer or musical instrument salesman would do the same. Seems like they donβt want new business nor care that they are losing it to other gyms. Particularly puzzling since theyβre over $100/mo for a 2+ person family membership. Oh well. Weβll vote with our feet if they are not willing to be accommodating and welcoming and take $1,300+ in annual revenue somewhere else.

I just switched over to the Y from the lifetime and I was excited to use the hot tub, and sauna but you have to be 18 years or older. The life time you can be 13 and up to use the hot tub and sauna. So Iβm kind of bummed out.

I and my wife like the various workout classes they have to offer like Zumba, Pilates, strong nation, kickboxing, etc. our nine-year-old son loves playing racquetball there and our toddler is taken care at the baby care center. They have daycamp and soccer programs that are fun for kids. Overall, itβs a great option for entire family to be active.

The staff here is extremely friendly. They always try and go the extra mile to assist families in every aspect. If there was one drawback....they seem to not answer the phones. I'm not sure if they are super busy or not, but in my experience, answering the phone and replying to emails would be my only concerns.

I love the Y. Always something active to do and can visit any Y across the states. I like this location but I do wish they'd upgrade the showers. The water is mostly cold and have only experienced a Luke warm temperature once on the weekend. Went to a Y in D.C. where their women's locker room looked like I was at a spa. They even had fresh towels. All the locations are different which is an adventure to experience them all.

Five years ago I came after hip surgery because the copays for PT costed more than Y membership! I found water exercises weren't painful and I improved quickly! Plus the groups, instructors, & Y staff were welcoming and friendships developed! This year I started attending other classes and even have a coach--all covered in my membership! My daughter also joined for yoga, stretch, & knitting! This is indeed a family environment!
