The Northeast Family YMCA serves the East Cobb community with programs focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Through day camp, group exercise, community wellness, and more, the Y provides opportunities for everyone to reach their full potential. We serve as a resource for our neighbors through relationships with schools and churches providing food, coats and supplies for those in need.

The activities are so well put together and so much fun for the kids. We just went to the fall festival last night and my kids had a blast with the bouncy houses, maze, crafts, donut fishing and cake walk! The staff knows my son from summer camp and treat us like family!

Here is what I have noticed about YMCAs lately. Things r breaking down like the wet saunas, latrines, showers, and airconditioning, and it takes them a very long time to make necessary repairs. Iβm not exactly sure what the problem is. At this location the AC has not been working properly for several months and there is no indication they r going to fix it. At the Y on Piedmont the wet sauna has been broken. There was a bigger than normal annual increase in fees this year yet things still donβt get fixed on a timely basis.

When are you to start serving decaf coffee? It's been two weeks since there has been any. Walmart is nextdoor if you need some.
Standing here at 7:15 am on a Saturday and the doors are locked. No one here. Time in my life I won't get back. Please credit my July dues for the inconvenience. Errors have costs, but not to me .
Now it is 7:30 and no one is here??????

- Classes fit my schedule (5:30am)
- Instructors notice when someone is new and they pay special attention to them
- Instructors like to interact with members
- Classes are setup before we arrive
- Instructors are on time.
- Hardly any classes are cancelled.
- Staff is genuinely friendly and is not "bothered" by a question, they actually listen

My husband and I joined the Northeast Cobb YMCA to continue his exercise after completing outpatient physical therapy following a stroke and also so I could get some exercise. The staff are all welcoming and helpful. Kevin and Julia worked with Bill to get him going and offered suggestions when possible. Same for my getting started as well. The facility is always clean and and they have programs and activities for everyone. This is much more than just another gym.

Idk how much yall are paying her, but the employee βDianeβ absolutely deserves a raise. She went above and beyond to understand and empathize our situation with me and my friend when we had a complaint. Our complaint had nothing to do with the ymca that she works at which dianne knew, but she still insisted on hearing us out and honestly, Dianne is such a girls girl and I love her

Ok, understanding what this ymca is about and its offerings are geared to family and classes. But, we're this YMCA fails to realize is there's a large segment of people that just want to use the gym and that's it.
I called and for me alone to use only the the gym weights and cardio side and no classes your telling me $60 plus a one time return membership fee of $50 and $61 dollars a month SMH.
Versus Crunch, bigger gyms with more equipment, better equipment, more room and its only 9.99 a month for a year. I mean, I've had memberships from Golds Gym, Powerhouse Gym Crunch and other gyms that were higher end and CHEAPER than this YMCA.
It's great for a family plan with little kids etc. But, just to use the gym when other gyms with more choices are only 9.99 a month or $50 bucks a year vs paying $61 a month with lower tier equipment that's just not right. Trust me when I say I've been to a lot gyms with more and paid way less to be a member.
From a business model Stand point your losing business to the other gyms that are capturing that market. You may or may not use classes which is a great upsell. But even if it's the Dad or mom that wants to do thier own thing and don't need all of the other classes, basketball court etc. You're capturing that large market share as well.
And for this I would not re up my membership when I can go else where and have better equipment, better facilities and a better experience. The weights and machines are ok, within a very small space.
I would recommend going to a bigger gym if you're really serious about your workouts. Plus the cost is not worth it vs other bigger gyms in the area.
Would not recommend if your looking for a real gym. For a family with growing kids yes I can see paying 60 a month.
Other than that no way. They need to get with the times.

After recently moving to the area and needing some summer childcare, we sent our 4yo son to their 1/2 day summer camp. He absolutely loved it! His teachers were so sweet and kind. They helped make this transition so much easier on him and we are so grateful for Ms. Sunny and Ms. Mouse!

This place is fantastic!! Me and my friend recently came over here from Europe and needed to sign up for a gym - we were helped by Dixie and she was so sweet and helpful ( and she even looked after our belongings for us ( and we went straight to work out ! It was well spaced out and everyone there was friendly and talked to us to help us adjust to the states ! We now come everyday and are hoping to start some classes too

I have felt comfortable coming to our YMCA throughout the Covid Pandemic. Also, one time during an ice storm, our subdivision did not have power, but the YMCA did, and they allowed non-members to come into the facility for showers. Love our community-minded Northeast Cobb Y!
