I'm a black card member and if I weren't a truck driver traveling to many different pf I would cancel my membership since the 30 min room has been removed that's where I feel I really got a good workout in the short time I have before my long 11 hrs of driving

I did love the calhoun planet fitness center until they took the 30 min room and all the yellow equipment out!!!!!!! I'm a mom of two and don't have all day to spend in the gym I have a hour in half before work and vertigo I needed that room I most likely will cancel my black card very disappointed 😞

As a shy gym goer, I was so thankful to have a facility with a little cove of everything I needed (circuit area) off of the main floor. I don’t have the confidence to lift out there and I thought with time I might get it, but I never did. I was excited about all the signs for new equipment coming only to find the circuit area completely gutted and the equipment gone from the gym. I loved this gym, but I don’t know if I’ll keep my membership now. I wish they had gotten some input before doing this because I know this area was used by a lot of us who don’t feel super comfortable on the main floor. This rating is mostly for corporate who probably made this decision. I adore the staff here, they are wonderful!

One particular blonde haired girl that works on Saturday morning who wears glasses and doesn't give her name is very rude and entitled. I am a black card member and I lay in the tanning bed every day almost and I understand you have to put up signs for goggles but this girl was very rude to me I told her I wanted the stand up bed she said do you have your goggles in a rude way and I showed them to her and she shoved the number card in my hand there was a gentleman working with her the went to clean my bed and another lady walked up wanting the stand up bed and the guy said it's not available she said ok I will do lay down he gave her the card for the number 5 bed and she walked off he never asked to see her goggles at all. After I got out of the tanning bed I proceeded to inform the girl that the boy working with her did not ask the other woman for her goggles and they both proceeded to lie straight to my face if your going g to have rules have them for everyone not just certain people by the way this happened on July 26, 2025

Staff says one one stand up tanning bed is working. When I asked how long that's been that way I was told "well, it works but some of the bulbs are out and people complain about it so we don't use it"

Planet Fitness Calhoun: OK gym. The people have always been nice. Unfortunately, the gym cares more about making a political statement than offering news options to its customers. The only national news station it has on the TVs is FOX news. Seriously? 7 TVs with FOX news? And the people working there are not able to change at least one TV to CNN? BTW, I've heard complaints from other people (including the staff) about the same issue. I go to PF all over the country and every single one I've been to offers multiple national news options. Your clientele is diverse and getting more-so. Please fix this and show some consideration to all of your customers.

I was using planet fitness as a supplemental gym for the cardio equipment and recovery services (hydro bed red light etc) and hours that my normal gym doesn’t have. The last few visits the equipment has been dirty and broken ( practically put my foot through a broken stair on the stair stepper) and the black card services had a wait longer than scheduled time if they care to use the “scheduler” or they are out of service. They also have closed for inclement weather several times that were 100% unwarranted. All of these things go against their brand promises. There are several gyms in town that offer similar services at the same price, I’ll be going there.

The gym seems good so far, but the tanning areas are nasty with dust and fans clogged. I sat my clothes on the bench and when I went to put them bk on one pant leg was white with dirt and dust. I showed the manager but she didn't seem to be interested. Idk, but I hope to see them clean next visit. If not, I'll go bk to 24/7. They have better hydro beds anyway.

So I've been going here for several years. It's always been a pretty decent gym, and staff can only work with what they've got. That being said, many of the gym users, leave a huge mess for others. It's easy to point fingers at the one or two, working the counter, but when there's about 50+ people using the facilities, it's difficult to maintain, while taking care of the gym floor. Oh yeah, and babies should not be brought into the tanning area. There should be no argument about this.

Moved back to Calhoun recently. I’m a bit bummed to see that this is the closest PF to me now. The gym itself seems decent and clean. I haven’t been able to really use the machines yet. I’m on restrictions from my doctor; waiting to have surgery I’ll update when I can explore that side more.

The staff, for the most part, have been friendly and helpful. They are a few that act like you’re bothering them. However, sadly, you get a mix like that any where really.

Having the Black membership isn’t really worth it; if this will be your home PF. I have to decide if I go here just a few miles from home; or make the trek to Cartersville, in search of better amenities.

The hydro beds are under the harsh lights and far from relaxing. The massage chairs are right up front in the hustle n bustle.

The tanning is less than desirable. Older beds, some with incredibly scratched plexiglass. The stand ups need the fans cleaned desperately. Most of the controls are so scratched/worn off that you can’t see anything. You’re fine if you remember how to turn on/off and how to get to the fan speed. They don’t have room for a lot of the modern hybrids beds. None of them connect to your phone, for Bluetooth music.

If the tanning and massage are the reason you want to get the Black membership. Hard. Pass.

Love the freedom to work out as hard or as little as I want. The trainers are very helpful and can assist you setting up an individual program based on your level of fitness. There are enough machines that you don't have to wait for one. My favorite part is at the end of a workout, going on the hydro bed or in one of the massage chairs. I can travel and not worry about missing a workout since I can go to any planet fitness. There truly isn't any intimidation there. Everyone is working at their own pace and not competing with each other. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

I just went in to downgrade my membership because I was informed that I had until the 15th to downgrade it before getting charged the $25 and when I go in I'm told that that is incorrect and it is a $10 downgrade fee I will already be charged the $25 and I was never informed about a $10 downgrade fee upon upgrading. The last time they were replaced they only changed the bulbs in 2 beds so of course everyone asks for those beds so they burn out really fast. My home gym is Rome ga but I had a birthday party in Calhoun yesterday and decided to stop by the local PF and tan before heading home. Walking in the two guys working were both welcoming and ready to assist everyone that came through the door. They were so polite. After tanning I got all the way in my car and realized I’d left my daughter’s ring I was wearing. Rushed back into the gym and told the guys at the counter. One of the guys didn’t even hesitate to come help me search and had even gotten gloves to search through the trash for me. Luckily I spotted my paper towel right on top and my ring was crumpled up inside. This ring was very special to me and my daughter both. Extremely thankful to have found it! The two guys working the afternoon/evening shift yesterday on 4/13 are hands down some of the nicest and most helpful employees I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with in a planet fitness. I really like this gym. It’s not close to my house which is the only downside, but they have everything I need plus much more. Sometimes I use the regular equipment but I love going into the 30 minutes Express room. Typically not a lot of people are in there and I feel like I get more accomplished because I’m not looking for open machines and trying to create my workout as I go. All of the machines are side by side so it’s easy to get in a good work and leave. I feel motivated to work hard in the gym because afterwards I reward myself with the hydromassage which feels great on tired muscles.
