I’ve been to many Planet Fitness locations across the country due to frequent travel with the military, and this has by far been one of the most unprofessional and unhygienic experiences I’ve ever had. The showers were filthy, and the management was completely inappropriate.
While I was in the locker room, Michele (a staff member) asked if the women were comfortable with male managers entering. At least four women, including myself, clearly said we were not. Despite this, she laughed, dismissed our objections, and brought the men in anyway—while some women were still showering or just getting out. To make matters worse, she asked for the names of those who objected and then proceeded to kick me and my friend out of the bathroom.
When I confronted Carlton, another manager, he said, “Management is allowed in the restrooms.” I explained that if multiple women clearly stated we were uncomfortable, then bringing men in was completely unacceptable—especially when the same standard was not applied to us simply doing our hair. His response was dismissive, and he even told us we were being disrespectful and to never return.
Several other women present said they planned to contact corporate/HR about this issue. For a place that promotes itself as a “positive and judgment-free zone,” this experience was anything but.

Me and my best friend are members of the Planet Fitness in Belvedere Park, Decatur, GA.
Since joining we are always greeted by Carrollton. He doesn't just greet us, he ask about our day, motivates us, tells us we're doing a great job when we leave. He is always smiling, helpful and unbelievably kind. My card and tap to pay on my phone never seem to work at this location, I've forgotten water a few times, Carrollton doesn't get irritated he's actually paid for my water! I mean come on! Can you say nice guy of the year! He is the reason I keep returning to the gym. I know even if i dont want to go my hype man will be there with a smiling face, ready to greet me and give me that little push, youre doing great! Have a good workout! Carrollton needs a raise, a new title, his own planet fitness! He is amazing and should be recognized for going above and beyond making people not only feel welcome but accepted and safe!

This is the best Planet Fitness I’ve been to & I’ve been to quite a few locations. It’s very clean, neat, & it has a lot of equipment that a lot of the Planet Fitnesses don’t have. Marcellus has been super helpful since the day I started coming here. He’s very knowledgeable about all of the equipment & rules & regulations in this gym. He’s also super welcoming EVERY DAY that I come here. It makes me feel good about working out. The entire staff is nice & helpful. I will be leaving the Midtown location & transferring here permanently. This gym is a 10/10!

My boyfriend was allowed to use the bathroom several times and got good customer service however every time I went in to use the bathroom as a black female I got questioned and turned away. Probably because I’m dark skin and my hair wasnt done but long story short I learned that girl code doesn’t exist anymore and male privilege is real in certain situations.

This planet fitness is SO clean. At the front desk, Carlton, has such amazing energy. Always greets ya with a smile, a “have a great workout!” Or just some fun banter. One time I came in with a really really stiff neck and he took the time to show me a few great stretches to help and boy did it! He’s the best and the reason why this PF was one of my very favorite.

To management please address this: Not sure what's going on with Planet fitness, but the team members may require some additional training on morning etiquette when I first started attending planet fitness a couple of years back the AM staffers were great friendly, pleasant, inviting however lately the atmosphere is cold and uninviting, not sure, but maybe this is a opportunity for some training in the next staff meeting or teams call.
The location is NOT the most inviting and LA fitness is right around the corner so a nice Welcoming for all the people who come should be mandatory.

This is the best PF I've ever visited, and a definite upgrade from even the popular Decatur area YMCAs. It's immaculate and I've never seen a single user not clean the equipment after use. The staff is regularly deep cleaning machines and I next to never see machines needing repair (maybe 1 treadmill down out of 50 every few months). I was a little hesitant because it's not always the loveliest shopping center and I was concerned people would approach me for money when I was coming and going, but it's not been a problem. The staff is kind and smiley and the best part is how inspirational the people working out here are--so many strong and healthy people and I was personally encouraged by all the women lifting big weight.

I visited this location one very early morning with a guest, however, my phone conveniently died as I walked in. I forgot my wallet and did not have any identification on me, but the gym associate recognized me as a member who frequently worked out there and allowed us to workout. They even went as far as helping my guest download the planet fitness app, helped them with creating an account, and showed them how to access their black card guest pass on the planet fitness app.

This location is conveniently placed however it’s often dirty. The staff members are kinda weird and solicit women. Like I was once told “I got that gas” and aggressively talked at for trying to get paper towels out of one of many broken dispensers. They demonstrated how to use the broken equipment to which dispensed way less than the way I was using it. But the better demonstration would be to just replace the unit altogether. I love the Kirkwood location for the opposite of my complaints, it’s just overcrowded and a little further from my house. Overall this place is decent hence the rating. Nothing 5 star about it. Some equipment has been out of order for months now. I have read cheesy replies asking to bring our concerns to staff however the staff seem disinterested in their jobs (otherwise the place would be cleaner vs them standing at the desk bored on their phones ) . There is an exception of the manager with locs. He often seems like the only person that cares but he’s one person so who wants to bombard him with things probably out of his control. Like broken equipment, owners are too cheap to replace! Or creepy coworkers that looks at member’s personal information like birthday to hit on them? That’s a lot for one person to resolve.

I think this is a decent planet fitness. It does lack in some areas that are very basic. Please oil the exercise equipment so I don’t have to listen to squeaky wheels from the guy riding next to me for an hour. Also, change the clock after day light saving times. Update 07/31/23: There's a new manager at this location, and she has been knocking it out of the park. the vibe in this location has completely changed. the staff are much nicer and will reach you as you walk in. They're not playing on their telephones or the computer or having side conversations and ignoring clients.

The equipment is clean, I even mentioned some of my earlier gripes to the manager who asked which equipment needed to be fixed. Today, I even watched her walk around the floor and look at equipment as well as the cleanliness of the location.

You can literally feel the difference when you're in here. PLEASE keep up the great work. It's have to find another location or cancel my membership.

To the PF response: No! YOU notify them. I already have to tell them when they need to refill paper towels.
I always seem to be disappointed by PF's handling of locations. It's a joke to call PF a "company."

Ignore the panhandling and folks wandering around. This is a pretty good location.

Pretty clean place. It was not too big but had the usual equipment. Plenty of showers and toilets.

Issues anyone will realize:
- Cleaning equipment left on tables and the walkway (vacuum pack and floor cleaner).
- Some equipment needs to be repaired or replaced. Most works/looks fine.
- My BIGGEST gripe is the adjustable seats... that don't adjust. I have had to skip sets because i can't get a seat to move.
ABSOLUTELY A BAD MOVE. FIX ALL OF THEM. Never experienced this at ANY PF.

Also, the music is too loud sometimes. I can hear the music over the music in my earbuds. Set a level and leave it alone.

The trainer Ayana is fabulous. I have observed muscle improvement on her PF participants. The ladies bathroom/shower are always clean... Paper towel dispenser stations are jammed or empty. Exercise equipment is on the floor, every day, waiting for an accident by customer's just arriving to PF. The new staff are generally talking to each other and or on their phone. Your male employee Jori does not wear a belt and therefore the crack of his butt shows. I always request that he (Jori) pull his pants up! Participants use small tripods to film themselves. This practice can cause accidents when walking to a new station. Many regular customers at your Bellevedere Plaza location, Memorial Dr expressed to me, the location was a 5 star rating early 2022.

Planet fitness is a great place to exercise. However, canceling a membership is like trying to grab a wild rabbit. They let you apply online to join, but you can't cancel on line like every other business that has an online subscription option. I have tried to cancel for the past 6 months but to no avail. I'm told go to you club or write a letter. One write a letter. I am a over the road truck driver, I registered online and joined the club that was in a state I no longer reside in. I'm home for 2 days out the month so writing a letter is furthest from my mind. Spending time with my family is. As I pen this I currently in my truck. Cons: I had some of the worst experiences here, they take your money. No beverages included in the black card package. The staff are polite some days snd mostly rude or inattentive other days, I lost my job and asked to PLEASE be removed from the membership plan and thought I was good until my card was charged so I decided to go in and was told that I can’t utilize the gym until I pay the almost $200 they had accumulated AFTER I CANCELED THE BLACK CARD MEMBERSHIP Only attempted to use it because I was charged, now I’m in debt , don’t have a home gym and am scammed out of money because the payments they took didn’t go towards the balance but towards another month’s membership that I DO NOT WANT I canceled my card and they are still taking my money through my routing number I’m a single mother of 4 I don’t need this confusion and foolishness my best advice to you is RUN far and fast find some outside space and use that it’s a better option

Hands down the best Planet Fitness I’ve been too.

I was visiting from San Bernardino County California, where I go to 3 PF gyms, depending on the day, and another gym, Fitness 19.

This one was the largest PF, super clean, great AC (standard for PF), 10 minutes a session on the Hydrobed (one PF only allows 5 minutes!) all the equipment anyone needs … really, it was great.

The homeless people and abandoned stores I read about in other reviews were not in sight. I guess the economy turned around for the area. Really well done PF with kind employees.

The Wesley Chapel location recently updated all of their cardio equipment and it's all brand new, more efficient in size and they all have newer features. My best new cardio feature is the individual fan built into the dash and helps to dry the perspiration from my face. The equipment isn't as bulky so there is more variety / versatility in the same space of the cardio area. Beyond that if they could just fix one of the two commodes in the men's restroom. They tend to be out of order regularly, leaving only one available and that's very inconvenient. Repairing the commodes takes too long.

Planet fitness is definitely a gym that makes me feel comfortable, the 24/7 access and the equipments are always clean.
