Front desk consistently fails to provide basic customer service... management needs formal customer service training in accordance with established PF corporate policies as well as training in how to implement these corporate PF requirements with all employees including any personal trainers.

For example consistently greeting customers and extending common courtesy throughout their visit, maintaining clean facilities and functional equipment rather than congregating at the front desk for marathon BS sessions, promptly addressing members, employees and personal trainers who refuse to wipe equipment down after use, addressing members who sit on equipment for 15 minutes or more playing on phones, decent dress codes, posing and photos, etc.

Consistent implementation of any of these policies would be a good place to start.

I have to revise my review of this corporation. During my last visit to this PF I went to use the urinals and there was a woman pretending to be a man standing right beside them while she changed. This would become a very problematic thing if the opposite were to happen to my wife or daughter. Since I don't like prison, my family (and a lot of others) now workout at Club4Fitness. It's the same price but way cleaner/better and they have real trainers.

I sighed up for a basic membership and was charged for a sign up fee, then I was charged for the monthly membership fee for basic membership then my basic membership was upgraded to the highest level which cost almost 5 times as much. Now when I call yo get the issue resolved they will not take my call. This business is out of control when they have access to your money and make it impossible to dispute anything. As well when you are in working out the amount of people on their phones while sitting on equipment is outrageous. Would not recommend this place if you want to seriously work out!

If I could give this place a zero I would. I have had a membership with planet fitness for over six years. I have never had an issue until recently. The General Manager claims notifications are sent out prior to being billed monthly which is not true. I have never received a notification. I always get pending charges in my bank but didn’t this time and despite not being notified when payments were supposed to come out, despite it being a planet fitness issue not a customer issue, I was refused a refund from late fees. Mind you late fees are $20 each time. They charged me $20 extra for my annual fee and monthly fee. That’s $40 on top of the annual fee and monthly fee. I was basically robbed of $100. But notifications are “sent out” even if there was a billing issue. Lie. Never received a thing. Not a call. Nothing. So I was denied a refund and was basically told there was nothing they could do for me. Also, the general manager at the Fort Oglethorpe location was rude and interrupted me the entire time I tried to talk to him and refused to even listen to what I had to say, and was very rude and made sure it was known that he was not going to refund me. Also was told they require a second payment method on the account to prevent this from happening but when I signed up over 6 years ago, I was never told that. It was debit card or direct bank account withdrawal. Again no communication whatsoever. I won’t ever be back. They are money hungry and don’t care about the members. Not to mention every time I go there, most of the machines are broken or being worked on. What am I paying the annual fee for then? Wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. They take money and DO NOT work with you or listen to anything you have to say. They point blank don’t care.

I felt a peaceful presence when I walked in. Everything was nice and clean. It is very spacious. The equipment was nice and clean and easy to use. I instantly requested to change my location to here. T.J was extremely helpful with helping me transfer and even came and checked on me to make sure I was doing ok with this being my first time at this location. He showed me how to upgrade to a black membership and showed me all do the cool massage chairs. The one with the water was my favorite. If I could give less than 1 I would! Got a gym membership two years ago here. Last year I called to cancel now granted I never actually visited this gym one time to work out in 3 years! Anyways called last year to cancel and got the run around about how it’s an annual thing and I have to come in person to a gym 40 plus minutes away to cancel get there and he starts with the its annual, I’m like okay well I’ll finish paying the year out since I agreed to it even tho I haven’t signed anything to renew it but I’d like for it to be stopped on the next annual payment he said okay I’ll get it in the computer fast forward to now and I get charged the annual fee plus a monthly payment after it was supposed to be canceled I called said I have proof of everything I was saying because the guy never put it into the computer and got told it didn’t matter because no one who was there last year is there now. He then said he would transfer my membership to a gym closer to where I live and mind you that the closest gym is still 20 minutes away and I would have to go again to cancel and they would continue to take the monthly payment until I showed up in person to cancel this again! I work 7 days a week literally! 8am -7pm I have no time to go again to a gym I’ve never been to or worked out in and cancel something that should have already been taken care of and I’m still loosing money I desperately need! This company is money hungry! I paid 3 years never went and still get screwed and have to pay more! Thank planet fitness for nothing!

The facilities are always clean and well-maintained and the staff have been VERY helpful. For someone like me who has never set foot into a gym before, I didn't feel intimidated at all during my first visit. I was able to bring my husband as a guest as well which I appreciated. I need a buddy for motivation. The only thing I didn't like was that my guest isn't allowed to take advantage of the spa area. I feel like my guest should share the same privileges I do. But that isn't enough reason to take away a point in my score. So far I am quite pleased.

A perfectly average gym.

It’s not particularly large, and like any PF it’s 75% treadmills and stair-steppers. The weight equipment they do have are okay, but be ready to spend most of your time standing around waiting for it to free up unless you go during odd hours. There is very little space to do any sort of body-weight workouts or stretching.

It is also the coldest gym i have ever been in by far. At least in the mornings, the overhead fans are set to high and it’s a constant stream of freezing air blowing around the building. It makes it very difficult to stretch out and get loose and have a comfortable workout.

I love this gym!! People give folks who use PF a lot of crap, but Its a great gym, with friendly people. I don't worry about ending up on tiktok somewhere for messing up or whatever. As much anyway, I'm sure there are still jerks out there who would do that, but I for sure feel more protected from it Here.
My ONLY ONLY qualm, I guess, is that they close early on weekends. I work evenings and can only go after I'm off so friday-sunday when they close at 9 and 7, respectively, I am unable to go at all :( I wish they'd be open even until just 10 or 11 those nights so people who work later can still visit in the evenings those days for a little bit at least. <3<3

The guys at the front desk are friendly and helpful. The one thing I’m really wrestling with is that people can use the restrooms that they identify in. That’s a problem to me. By letting them do what they want to and respecting their rights, you are denying the rights of the other 98%. I have no problem with what people do and I respect their right to pursue happiness but that doesn’t give them the right to put their rights over others. Social norms should still be followed when it comes to bathrooms and locker rooms. Don’t be a Budlight.

Have told staff and managers multiple times about bulbs being out. Their excuse is they have to wait on the maintenance guy. And then one manager told me the last time the maintenence guy changed out bulbs he used already used bulbs, and that's why they went out so fast. This is a tanning service included in our membership that we pay for and we aren't able to get adequate tanning with a minimum of 4 bulbs out in most beds including face tanning lights being out. I go to multiple other planet fitness franchises and this is the worst one about dirty beds and beds with bulbs being out. And the staff doesn't seem to be concerned about letting it go like this. If I was the manager I would be calling maintenence and my supervisor daily to get the issue fixed. This is unacceptable and makes this franchise look very unprofessional and gives planet fitness as a whole a bad name!

I started going to this gym approximately 9 years ago. It used to be very well maintained, but as time has gone on it’s become disgustingly gross. We are charged a $39 fee yearly to cover maintenance costs but maintenance is never done. Since the paper towels are constantly out, I asked someone for some and was told they were out and it wasn’t in the budget to order more. We are asked to wipe machines down after use, but it’s kind of hard to do so with no paper towels.

This is definitely a health risk for all members. I was told that your company isn’t responsible to refill them. During one of my workouts, I started smelling strong cigarette fumes. I noticed that the employee on duty had slipped out the back door and left it cracked open while he was smoking. Since I have asthma, I literally had to drop my weights and run out of the room and was unable to finish my workout. The facility in general needs some serious TLC including painting, cleaning, etc. I hate to complain but it’s high time that something be done to take care of these issues.

I have been to about a dozen Planet Fitness locations in Tennessee, Florida, and Pennsylvania, and I never had a problem until I visited this location. Dawn, the assistant manager, is extremely rude and sexist. I reported another member, a female, who was not allowing others to use a machine between sets. I followed the instructions of the person working the counter while the other member argued with the staff member and with me. Dawn then got involved. I did as the staff member asked and waited for Dawn to speak with me, but the other female member who cannot follow instructions got up and started speaking with Dawn. After about 5 minutes I approached Dawn, apologized for interrupting, explained that I had been waiting patiently, and that I needed to go and only needed about 30 seconds of her time. Dawn took a very rude tone and told me to wait. I responded with the same tone she had with me and said fine but you've got about 2 minutes until I'm leaving. Dawn then pointed her finger at my face and said you aren't going to talk to me like that. Ok, so she can be rude to me, but I'm supposed to be nice to her? Wrong one! I then told her she was out of her mind and told her to cancel my membership. Dawn then began refusing to cancel my membership and yelling at me to leave and said the police are on the way. I said good, maybe they can help me cancel my membership. At the end of the day, that's what happened. I canceled my membership and won't be back unless Dawn is terminated. She should be. She didn't even bother to give me a chance. She listened to the female member who was not following club rules and made her mind up that it was the man who was wrong from the get go.
