Been going to Planet Fitness for about 2 1/2 years with my son. I was disabled in the line of duty and retired here on the coast of Georgia. After being in recovery for a year i gained 100 pounds and felt not only horrible due to my injuries and PTSD but horrible due to this weight gain. I decided it was time for a new me. ask my son to join Planet Fitness with me to keep me motivated. We both went on the Mediterranean diet and began goiI ng to the Planet Fitness 7 days a week on the treadmill. The staff is very kiind and greets us as we enter the door like family. Today, I've lost the total 100 pounds, my blood pressure is normal, my blood glucose is normal. I still have the PTSD but physically I'm much better. I son has lost 80 pounds and is motivated. We keep each other going. Thank you Planet Fitness of Kingsland, Georgia. Y'all are awesome in more ways than one.

This is definitely one of the better Planet Fitness’s in the South.

Had no issue getting a full workout in, super clean, front desk staff were friendly, and the hybrid stand up tanning thing was super cool.

Currently exploring Amelia Island and this is the closest one.

Today, when I used my black card guest pass to enter the venue alone, I was told by the front desk that I could not pass through and that the main card holder could bring me in. In the past three months, I was able to pass through alone, but this time I was not allowed. Why? This made me unhappy.

Have been going here for a while, but when I went to scan in today I was told by the desk lady that they have to take my picture and have it linked to my account. I told her that she was incorrect. She insisted and started lining up a webcam. I had to physically block the webcam and turn it around and I told her do not take any pictures without my consent. Your policy does not require any pictures. She then got an attitude and said it's either that or show your ID every time. To which I replied or I can just cancel my membership, don't tell people they have to get their picture on file when you're absolutely incorrect.

I overheard staff gossipping at the counter and using foul language to describe customers. They weren't talking about me, but they made me uncomfortable enough to leave early. I don't need to be hearing that negativity. One of them is a manager, so, idk what to even say other than, there's no one working at this gym to curb that foul behavior.

When does this location get cleaned? There's always human goo and feces everywhere I need to touch and they refuse to provide sanitizing wipes to clean. Kingsland is in the lead for least hygienic of 2025. Not a good start. Your first job is to clean. I'd argue we don't need a human vegetable standing at check-in EVER. Put them in the bathrooms, there's plugs to play with their phones in there too. Maybe they'll wipe a toilet in between Playing.

Friendly staff, convenient location! They also have the spa with what I dubbed the ‘magical chairs’ and water lounges. The atmosphere is also good with a lot of smart and interesting individuals that frequent the location. I look forward to my gym events most days (except leg day).I don’t like working out but nothing is gained by not putting the work in and this is a great place to do it in my humble opinion.

I’m currently staying in Kingsland from Eastern TN due to the hurricane destruction to my home. My stress level is high and I’ve been a bit scatter brain. Last night I misplaced my keys at closing time and was panicking. Joe and Tom were very kind and had a lot of patience while I looked for them in my things. They didn’t rush me out and even waited for a thumbs up that I had left them in my truck. The kindness in such a stressful time was amazing. Something that is an everyday behavior for them made my day. Thank you!

Revised street Owner’s reply: The owners reply below basically reaffirms the Cowardly policy regarding cancellations. And I’m going to reaffirm that you should be very cautious about given your credit card number to this business!!

I would be very skeptical about giving these people your credit card because you can go to the planet fitness page on x.com and read all of the complaints from people that are unable to cancel their membership, months and months of charges.

My wife is a teacher and is unable to get in there during business hours because we’ve moved. After several months of not receiving a callback from Lucy, the manager, I managed to catch her on the phone and needless to say she was less than helpful.

There are laws that protect consumers from auto debits. If you need to cancel a membership with this company, good luck.

Automatic debits for payments are a cowardly way of doing business when they don’t allow you to easily cancel.

This is a phenomenal gym. I normally go to one in Jacksonville Florida but went to this one cause it was more accessible on certain days and I am blown away. Equipment is beautiful and new. Didnt feel crowded, very spacious. Locker rooms were impeccable. New lockers, great lighting. Had a great visit, will be back 3 times a week.

I cant stand the BEATS MUSIC in the tanning beds, cant they just stream the regular music in. DONT say its only when you enter or exit ... YEAH ... buts annoying and loud and 3 years everyday..... it would drive anyone insane...... Who enjoys that music enough to have it playing constantly.

So far, so good! I’m enjoying my Planet Fitness experience at this location. I’ve been coming to this location for a week now and everything is great. Clean gym, friendly staff, affordable memberships, and convenient hours! I have to recommend this place!

I signed up for the black card membership via the Planet Fitness app. It was a pretty easy, straightforward process. I opted for the black card membership so that I could bring a guest occasionally, and use the spa amenities like the hydro massage. I have yet to use them, since I’m new, so I’ll probably update my review later down the line.

The staff is friendly and greets me both on entry and exit of the facility. I’ve been to this gym both during the day and late at night and the staff isn’t just standing around, but cleaning or making their rounds through the gym.

The gym isn’t huge, compared to something like LA Fitness, but there’s plenty of space and machines/equipment for use. Everything works properly, and I haven’t seen any broken machines or equipment that is out of order.

I like how clean this gym is and how they keep the paper towels and cleaning solutions well-stocked. I also like how the machines have pictured instructions and a numbered counter/timer to keep track of your workout. They also keep the crowd meter on the app up-to-date so you know when the gym is busy or not.

I would suggest updating the hours on the door. It still shows the old hours. But online and in-app are updated. Also, the only downside for me is, they don’t have Olympic power racks. But I guess most Planet Fitness gyms don’t, from what I read online. This location does have 4 Smith machines though.

I commend the staff and management here for making the place welcoming and clean. I will continue to enjoy my workouts here, and again, recommend this location for anybody looking for an affordable, clean and friendly gym.

I work night shift and can usually only get in to work out after shift. With the new hours over the weekend, it has now prevented me from utilizing the facilities. I pay for a 24 hour facility which has now taken that option away, yet still charges the same amount monthly. If this facility is going to remain at these hours, I will be in the market for a new gym where I can actually access it with my work schedule.

I have recently started getting into shape. The reason I went to PF was for the price and the convenience of being able to go before work.
Going in at 6 the gym was not crowded and I could get my workout in and get to work on time.
Since the new hours they have everyone jammed in like cattle. There's so many people all the machines are being used which is making the workout twice as long because you're having to wait or the machines.
The time change is not in the best interest of the members it's so they can save on personal....

My local planet fitness is ok for the money, let's face it there are a multitude of gyms in the area and planet fitness has pretty decent amenities foir the price but no sauna or steamroom unlike Bally's. The biggest selling point for me was the fact that they were 24/7 and now they are not. Being able to work out before work in the early am especially on the weekends was a selling point for me and part of the contract, that has changed so now my family and I are in discussion of finding another gym.

This place is Amazing. The staff if super friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable. Good training areas and so much more. I went there for 2 hours and got lost in there, didn't want to leave, but had to get to work. I can't wait to go back. I've never been this excited about a gym before. There's even a trainer that has classes of all sorts.

Good variety of equipment (could use some more plates and heavier dumbbells) facility is kept really clean and the staff is friendly. Only thing that baffles me is the "lunk" alarm....for a place that claims to be "judgment-free" they seemingly do not apply that ideology when they single out people and sound the alarm. Just seems juveinile, shallow-minded and counterintuitive. Trying to wrap my mind around the term "gymtimidation" and from what I gather this includes grunting and dropping (not to to be confused with slamming) weights which is completely normal and common when working to failure. I would be more concerned about individuals exercising in an unsafe manner (i.e. using poor form), camping out at machines, hoarding dumbells, using mirrors for social media platforms (rather than for their intended purpose of ensuring the individual is using proper form). If an individual gets "intimidated" in a gym just by simple grunts or a weight dropping then they might want to reconsider their choices and come back when they are past the point of requiring coddling in a place designed to break you down and wear you out if it is done properly.

I have been trying to cancel my membership for three days now because I am moving and have been told that I cannot because the employees are new and don’t know how. I was told on Monday October 9th 2023 that they would take my name and number down and have a manager contact me about canceling.

I didn’t mention anything Tuesday or Wednesday-hoping I would receive a call or they would stop me and let me know they know how to cancel the membership now.

Well fast forward to Thursday October 12th 2023 I come into the gym to workout and at the end of my workout I ask the employees if they figured out how to cancel my membership.

The employee with yellow/green hair stated that they did not know how still, I asked the other employee who stated they did not have access to do that. When I asked who had access I was told that the manager did but will be out Friday and Saturday and that I could come in Monday and cancel.

I explained that I m moving and would not be able to come in and they just stared at me blankly.

At this point you can tell they are just waiting to charge you again before you can end your membership. This is a complete joke and the management needs to train their employees.
It’s unacceptable to have 4 different employees who do not know or have access to cancel a membership.

My money is being held hostage due to Planet Fitness unwillingness to cancel my membership.

Pathetic; I recommended you take your money elsewhere.
