So I cancelled my membership in May of 2025 in person. The young lady at the front desk had me sign something and said it was cancelled. Fast forward to October of 2025 it’s still active! I only noticed because $80 was taking out of my account. I went to check my statements and they have been taking money out every month still. I called today and spoke with Johnathan, he was very hostile and told me no refunds would be issued without any documentation and I told him I didn’t receive anything. He claims that in May they switched systems and didn’t do in person deactivation anymore. But as of today my membership is canceled from when I called the other day. Funny seeing as though I still have not received a email stating that it has been canceled since this is the way they have been doing cancellations for 5 months now. I had to call back up there to get an update myself! I asked him for a corporate number or who am I supposed to speak to about a refund he stated there are no numbers besides the one for the location because it’s private owned so he is the top of the chain as far as any contact. I would not recommend this location since there is so much unprofessionalism and lack of support.

Update: it's 8/14 and they're closed. Why? Been here since 6am. Lights are on, doors are locked, and calls just go to a full voicemail.

It's exactly what to expect at 10$/month. No A/C, dirty bathrooms, but the clientele are friendly.

Tried speaking to management about the filth to no effect. They haven't properly cleaned the restrooms in over 4 months! There's dirty linens and food stuck to the floor... nasty nasty

I have been a member with Planet Fitness for almost a full year now and I have consistently frequented this location as it’s the closest one to me. The Assistant Manager Faith is the one who signed me up and gave me all the information I needed to know I wanted to be a black card member. She is always helpful and kind. She always answers every question with a smile and a positive attitude. I look forward to interacting with her whenever I work out because I know the facility will be clean and the staff will be friendly. I have been going to this gym for over three years, and have always been treated with respect by the staff. They have been friendly, and also happy to assist me with any issues. I have met quite a few “regulars” and have enjoyed our football talks, and other areas of interest. No establishment is ever perfect, and is sometimes in need of repairs or to be cleaned, that is normal. The past few years have been tough because of the corona virus, and lack of help. However, Planet Fitness in Mableton stayed open, and were very diligent on cleaning. I know that, because I watched Joe, the manager, and other staff members constantly cleaning. I was very appreciate of them being open, and seeking to provide a safe place to work out. Everyone there seems to be willing to help with anything to provide a good experience. I absolutely recommend this gym, and encourage you to smile at others! It really makes a difference, and you never know whose day you might brighten!

Great gym overall, but the Black Card perks are constantly down

I really enjoy this gym — the equipment is solid, the space is clean, and the staff is friendly. But I'm seriously considering downgrading my membership because the Black Card amenities (massage chairs and beds) are almost always out of order. It feels like a gamble every time I come in, and it's frustrating when one of the main reasons I upgraded is so unreliable.

Please prioritize fixing this consistently. It would go a long way in keeping loyal members like me from downgrading or leaving altogether.

I'm from out of town. So this is not my home gym. I need to be honest this front desk staff is not very friendly... I went in to do my daily tan. At this location, which I do at every planet fitness basically EVERYDAY i've ever been at never have i been asked to buy eye wear. 1-2 dollars is accepted 5-6 dollars is crazy for 2 tiny pieces of plastic . Im sure my opinion doesn't mean much but when I pay my membership if eye wear is required then provide my first pair.

Extremely disappointed with how I was treated at this Planet Fitness location. I’ve been a member for months and always wear compression shirts and shorts—standard, comfortable workout gear. No one has ever said a word to me about it until today.

I walked in, checked in, and passed by the manager with no issue. Ten minutes into my treadmill run, he taps me on the shoulder to tell me my shorts are “inappropriate.” No warning, no posted policy update, and definitely no discretion. It was embarrassing and completely unnecessary.

What’s worse is I’ve seen other members wearing much more revealing outfits without being approached. So why me? The whole experience felt targeted and inconsistent with the “Judgement Free Zone” that Planet Fitness advertises. If dress code policies are going to be enforced, they should be clearly posted and applied fairly to everyone—not selectively.

I had been going to the new planet fitness at Arbor place Mall because of the new equipment even though this one is closest to my home. I went this morning and I was shocked to find that same new equipment as the one in Douglasville because the last time I came they didn’t have it. All praises to the most high! Have been coming to this gym for close to 2 years.
Overall not too bad, but as others have stated the bathrooms always smell bad.
Last time I took a shower here I noticed gaps in the tiles and believe water may be seeping behind, causing water damage and the mentioned smell.
Also the new lady could loosen up a bit, she does come off unnecessarily strict.
Lastly the new setup with having to check in again if wanting to use a tanning bed or massage chair is annoying. And yes, I am a black card member.

Training with Derek has been a game changer for me. They really listened to what I wanted—mainly getting stronger and building muscle—and built workouts that actually push me toward those goals. Super encouraging, chill vibe, but still makes sure I’m putting in the work. If you’re into weight training and want someone who gets it, definitely recommend.

I was in a business trip in Atlanta and I was looking for a Dominican restaurant so I can have lunch. I came across Sazon Latino Yeah, let me tell you if you ever in Atlanta and you want to eat some good Dominican food you have to come to this place. The food was fresh. It was tasty. Great location located in a newly renovated plaza. Good size. Lots of machines with no wait Very calm and pleasant atmosphere to focus on fitness and training. Several TVs throughout the facility for viewing. Updated equipment with digital counting of sets. Also black card VIP areas as well as secluded weight areas and specific training nooks around the gym. A great location to get and receive a maximized workout.

Edit:someone affiliated with PF mabelton responding to my review telling me to address a member of management regarding the dirty bathrooms after reading my review is actually insane. This is not my home gym. Just a location I frequent on the days I have to be on that side of town. You read the review so you call/schedule a meeting regarding the reviews. As a blackcard member I visit different locations. I'm not approaching managers who don't come off as approachable anyway. The younger staff are much more friendlier and I'm not approaching them with that either. Not my job.

Quiet peaceful gym to workout. If you like to be left alone and not harassed by staff this is a good gym. They speak when you come in and usually say something on the way out. No issues with the staff at all. My only complaint is that the bathroom isn’t always clean. Other than that I love PF Mabelton.

I’ve been a member of Planet Fitness for a while, and I have to say I’ve noticed a big improvement in the cleanliness of the bathrooms recently. In the past, they weren’t always in the best shape—sometimes they weren’t cleaned as often as they should have been, and it was frustrating. But lately, it’s clear that the staff has stepped up their efforts. The bathrooms are cleaned more frequently, and they’re much more presentable than they used to be.

That being said, keeping the gym clean isn’t just on the staff—it takes all of us as members to do our part. If we all take a little extra care to clean up after ourselves and respect the space, it makes a huge difference for everyone. Overall, I appreciate the effort Planet Fitness is putting in, and I hope members continue to do their part to keep it that way!

HOWEVER. The bathrooms are disgusting. This is the 5th time I’ve gone into the bathroom and all 4 toilets were un-useable. I fail to understand how grown adults are so bad at aim that there is frequently pee/poop on the floors and walls.

It also gets incredibly crowded. If you plan on lifting weights don’t come between 4-7 because there will be nothing for you .

Extremely rude staff (manager and worker) at the front that take no ownership of their (planet fitness’) own wrong doing but would prefer to be rude and suggest you cancel just to end the conversation. That’s no way to resolve a customer’s concerns and no way to run a business. First time using planet fitness and that was such a horrible impression. Very very disappointing!!! I’ve been to many around Atlanta, in FL and in Little Rock and this was by far the WORST experience ever! Tanning bed bulbs are out but they have a sign that says they’re new to adjust your settings 🤔 bed has dirt in between plexiglass, some cracks as well. Lay down beds are 12 mins max they say it’s 9 mins but it cut off at 6.5 mins. Not to mention the app takes you to an empty lot where they’re building houses…completely wrong address. I will NEVER step foot in this location again. Front desk acts like he didn’t wanna be there with his AirPods in and was not any help…he could care less. *pics are -blown bulbs, dirt in the actual bed, empty lot the app sends you to*

In September of 2024 I ALMOST JOINED... almost.

I went through the tour and then all the time consuming i-pad crap to sign up & finally got to the payment part at the end. After putting in my credit card info I thought I was done. But no! They wanted my checking account and routing numbers too!?

Heck no planet fitness! You're not getting direct access to my checking account!

When I asked the guy at the counter about it he uncaringly said "there's no other way to join". So I left.

Later, I read on the internet about this new practice and found out that planet fitness does this because they make it so hard to quit planet fitness. In retaliation and as a way to quit the gym, people cancelled their credit cards to make the payments stop. Planet fitness realized if they have your checking account number, you can't easily cancel that so they can keep drawing money out.

Really shady practice.

Sadly, there's no good gyms in the lithia springs, austell, mableton, douglasville area. They're all old, run-down and dirty. Someone please open up a nice gym in lithia springs.

According to the worker at the counter, ALL (not most) of your memberships require a checking account.

Planet Fitness never used to DEMAND a checking account to take the monthly fees from. As a matter of fact NO OTHER GYM in our area does this. NONE. I've toured them all. A credit card has always sufficed. How many members don't even have a checking account?! You are losing business because of this invasive, overreaching requirement to join your gym.

With all the data breaches by hackers these days, the last info I am putting out there to potentially be stolen is my checking account and routing number so someone can steal all the cash out of my account.

And no, it is not the same thing as planet fitness accepting my check as a form of payment. You're demanding unfettered access to my checking account to withdraw money as you deem necessary. When I pay you with a check, it's just the check you have access to, not my entire account.

Can’t tell who works here and who’s a member, workers aren’t walking around refilling and replacing paper towels. Patrons don’t wipe equipment!! Paper towels are often empty. Weights aren’t put away and can be found in random corners. Same thing for the mats. When walking in, you will not be greeted which is a bit weird since they are the first ones upon entering.
I had to remove another star, still super dusty and dirty every corner, personal trainers ( not employees ) are dominating areas. Still have to search for weights and cable machine straps. Employees still all hang around the desk in their personal conversations and phone.
