Unfortunately I haven’t been to the gym in a few weeks because I’ve been working so much. I finally decided to go to the gym today. After running on the treadmill I became very sweaty. I proceeded to take a shower and it was freezing, ICE COLD, and it’s November! I let the shower run for about 10 minutes on the hot side with no change in the water temperature. I even tried switching it to the cold side, still with no change in the temperature. Unfortunately I was left with no other choice but to take a “FREEZING”shower in November, because I didn’t want to get in my nice clean car and clothes sweaty after running for miles on the treadmill (and I was already undressed in the shower). I hope I never have to come back to this particular location again because I love being able to run on the treadmill until I sweat and afterwards I would like to take a nice hot shower. I won’t chance that again with this location. I let the two ladies at the desk know. The one with the braids didn’t seem very friendly but the blonde hair girl said she would get on it right away (hence the two stars and not one). Gosh that cold shower sucked!!

I moved away from Macon and had a black membership. The front desk refused to cancel my membership by phone even though I now live 3 hours away and stated I needed to come in person to cancel. After moving from Omaha the planet fitness in Omaha was able to cancel my membership by phone without an issue. This should be illegal. They lost a customer for life.

This was one of my fave locations, but I’d say this is probably 2 or third time I’ve had a female worker be rude and constantly try to clean next to me. In this case for today the woman acted like she wanted me to leave making frustration sounds passing by me and saying “Jesus” and sighs as she walks out the locker room.
It’s a locker room for a reason MEANING I will get ready per usual. You will not try to rush me or else I will take my sweet time ( which I did )☺️ she didn’t like that and was constantly coming in and out of the locker room hovering around me.
That’s when I started to stare at her each time because it’s DISRESPECTFUL to clean right near someone but it’s even more disrespectful her hovering around me as I am trying to get changed in a locker room stall.
Some of the women planet fitness workers here, need to learn manners and respect.
Leave me alone so I can get ready…
stop pretending like “you are cleaning” when you’re doing passive aggressive stuff like this.
Reason how I know she was just doing BS is because this lady mopped then came in and vacuumed the mopped floor….. like be for real and leave ppl alone that paid for their membership…

I love this gym. I visit here when in town, it the most friendly staff and is a very clean place to workout and to shower. The assistant Mgr was helpful to everyone as I noticed him move at a steady pace making sure not over look anyone. I like seeing staff working to please their guess and patrons. This guy went from helping patrons with their accounts, to showing patrons how to use equipment. He helped me with getting a exercise ball blown up. There was a few patron ahead of me however he continued to expedite helping everyone with their concerns and was available to help me within minutes. He was energetic and positive. I noticed that energy rubbing off on those around him. This was a GREAT day for me at Planet Fitness in Macon Georgia. Sept 12, Friday, visited this gym around noon. Atmosphere was quite easy access to equipment Staff (Day) greeted me remembering me from my last visit. Which fell very welcoming, Shay another staff member gave helpful information about paper towels being available in the restrooms. She offered without hesitation to wipe up spilled water on the bench. Thank you ladies. I look forward in working out at this gym when traveling because of your friendliness.🏋‍♂️

Sometimes, you need things in the gym. Like wipes, waist carrier bags or arm phone bands, more drink options and also hygiene items for the showers. I still love it though🤗

I do not like the location of Planet Fitness in Macon it's chaos over there... the parking lot that it was in originally across the street with much better way less traffic. Putting a Planet Fitness next to everything else in the mall including Kroger's in a kids Air Park it's just too much the parking lot cannot hold all those people

Clean the equipment before you get on them they not cleaning the equipment I ended up with a staph infection and I called they act like they did not know what I was talking about I came in and talk to staff they said the manager wasn't going to call me no incident report done they attitude was so bad about I ended up not being able to leave my home because I was infectious the scar after the infection was so bad and they didn't care they were laughing and saying they sorry it happened I feel so distraught the first pic was the day I left the gym

The location matters the most. I can sweat at home, but I need to get out to release the stress and anger I live with daily. I have an autistic son who accompanies me at times and he is happy there are TVs with ESPN, so he hops on a treadmill and catches up on his sports. Income will not currently allow me to place him on Black Card status as of yet, and we hope to have that happen before my review of membership continuation in December 2026.

Planet Fitness exceeded my expectations once again. This was my second visit, and just like the first time, it was a great experience. The facility is impressively large, giving you plenty of space to move around and never feel cramped—even during peak hours. Everything was extremely clean and well-maintained, from the workout machines to the locker rooms and restrooms. It’s clear the staff takes pride in keeping the gym in top shape.

One of the best parts is that there’s no wait for machines. Whether you’re there for cardio or strength training, you can jump right into your workout without standing around. That kind of convenience really makes a difference when you’re on a schedule.

The staff was also friendly and welcoming, and the entire environment felt low-pressure and judgment-free, which is exactly what Planet Fitness promotes. It’s the kind of gym that makes you want to come back regularly. Overall, a fantastic experience. I’m definitely making this location my go-to gym whenever I’m in town. Highly recommend it!

People are going into the yellow circuit area and just sitting……a sign needs to be placed back up that reminds members it’s a circuit and not stations for them to do sets at. With the new gym opening up around the corner if this issue is addressed with staff and it’s dismissed members could be lost. Please put the sign back up. Thanks.

This is an amazing Planet Fitness. I guess good management can make a big difference! The last few months I worked out at two different locations in Naples, FL, but this facility in Macon, GA is much nicer, larger, cleaner, friendlier, and all the machines are working! I like this Planet Fitness club to workout. It is plenty big enough to workout among a lot of people. Staff always acknowledge your presence when you enter the facility. Today I greeted by Alexandria. She gave positive energy listening as I spoke about the 30 minute workout class in Gwinnett County among other interest. She was very professional. I travel a lot so I have a Black Card membership and I go to different Planet Fitness locations around the country. This one is clean and the equipment is good. The showers have hot water again, so thank you for that.
My issue is with the music played over the speakers in the club. The music is echoey and loud; I prefer to use my headphones and it's hard to hear over the club's music. Please consider members who bring their own entertainment.

My experience every week is tremendous I get to the machines I want without having to wait long, there is sanitizer and paper towels all over to sanitizer the equipment and it's 24 hours I'm able to weightlift and do cardio along with other forms of exercise it's a great gym

They need to have more than one person working at night, or have an automated system for the amenities. The night staff are nice but clearly have a lot to do and can’t be in more than one place at once. Also a regular time for cleaning the locker rooms and showers would be nice, it is very unpredictable what time a man will be in there working so I can’t plan around it.

First time back in a good while!! The new location is really nice!! Equipment is great!! Love the new tanning beds and the hydromassage is amazing!! However, the overnight staff needs some coaching in good customer service!! I waited patiently for her to finish what she was doing and then she had a nasty attitude. A special young lady Claudia at the Planet Fitness at Tom Hill in Macon Ga. Well she is the greatest and sweetest person. I had a flip phone and she eventually knew my name and remembered my phone number and would sign me in. When you sign in with a phone there is not any personal contact with that and I am old fashioned but when I got a smart phone 2 weeks ago for the first time, I had a little trouble getting it to the app. Claudia would say Mr. Todd, I got you signed in. She should be a manager or higher in this company.

It never ceases to fail when I have to deal with planet fitness that the customer service is so poor. The manager is worse than the staff sadly enough. Like I can’t pay this little amount to have this much stress. If you have the money to go elsewhere do it. The slap in the face they give you isn’t worth it.

I'm not a fitness guru, but when I go to the gym, I expect to be able to get a workout done efficiently. That rarely happened here. Many people at this gym have no workout etiquette and would commonly sit on machines talking on their cell phones or to other gym attendees. The staff would immediately find you and tell you not to use more than one set of dumbbells at a time, but will walk RIGHT BY these types and say NOTHING. If you view the gym as a social scene, this is the place for you. If you are serious about working out, look elsewhere.

It's Planet Fitness! That means a *pretty good* selection of weight lifting machines, although nothing aimed at the dedicated body builder and they're pretty strict about the dress code and being a little to testosterone laden, so if you're looking for a gym with a very laid back atmosphere, this is the place. If you want competitive or athletic level weight lifting, look elsewhere. Dress code makes sense for the most part for a gym that's trying to make people comfortable, ie no working out shirtless, no tiny string strap tank tops, but also... No sandals? Kinda weird as when I'm doing my upper body I like to wear flip flops as that's what I'm most comfortable in, but hey, rules are rules and a private establishment has the right to set theirs. So, in conclusion, good gym, wish they maybe had a sliiiightly wider array of weights, but also I get that the things they're missing are stuff more aimed at power lifters and this place is all about being accessible for a wider audience. One last plus, Planet Fitness is much much much more affordable than more power lifting/competitive oriented gyms.

Clean, lots of free weights and benches even when crowded. Usually have to wait for the Swiss bar because people use it for hip extensions when they can just use free weights. Squat rack is for squaring and benching weight over 60 lbs people!
