Our son attended a birthday party here today and honestly, I was so impressed. We live across Atlanta and I train jiu-jitsu at a different gym, but I was so impressed by the staff and how well they did with all the kids including my son. I’m so thankful for people that care about their jobs and the people that they serve.

Love, love, love this place! I can’t say it loud enough. They are great in so many ways. My 8 year old loves the taekwondo classes and it really has helped with self esteem and respectfulness. I love the adult taekwondo classes as well. The exercise is great mix of cardio, flexibility, and strength. The owners go above and beyond in every way they can. If you are at all thinking about trying, I suggest giving it a go. I was so on the fence for the adult classes but I love the workout and the self defense knowledge is a wonderful bonus!

We visit the Trickum location and have nothing but THE HIGHEST praises for Mrs. Ashley and her team!

She takes her time with everyone while also setting expectations and holding the kids to the "future black belt behavior" standard.

We have seen such a positive change in our son's attention and behavior at home and at school in the few months that he's been going.

We gave them 3 months notice verbally that we were leaving with my oldest due to a career change, they charged us for an extra month stating that I didn't put it in writing. Be warned. Our youngest went to a competitor as I refused to give them any more money.

We have taken our son to MMA-Trickum for for 1.5 years. We were looking for a way for our son to be physically active, but discovered that team sports were difficult for him due to his ADHD. MMA has been the perfect solution. He learns with other children, but is able to develop at his personal pace as he focuses on his own achievements and goals. The instructors are kind, encouraging, great with kids of all ages and ability levels, and bring energy to each lesson. Because of the small class sizes at this location, they have gotten to know my son and know when to push him and when to encourage him. I love that class times and days are flexible so if we miss a class one day, we can go on another day. I highly recommend MMA for a martial arts experience.

Marietta Martial Arts has been so amazing for her confidence, listening skills, self discipline and self awareness and overall, has really helped her mature into a respectable little citizen.

Our daughter didn’t know anything about Martial Arts. She began studying with Master Cho and the staff as a 4th grader and didn’t know if she would be behind. No worries. The teachers encourage and teach the students where they are in their belt process—which is wonderful since they are still all in one class as a together. They have an amazing way of knowing when to really challenge the student and when they might be feeling less confident and new a hug or supportive word. We appreciate the conditioning and the step by step teaching at each level of the Martial Arts journey. We would recommend the center to anyone.

This school helped me comfortably rekindle my passion for Taekwondo after a 15 year hiatus. The staff is great with adults and kids alike and care about their students' well-being. Sparring happens daily, which is great, and although the atmosphere is relatively relaxed its important to stay focused and sharp because The Black Belt tests are tough as they should be unlike other schools. I would like to see more targets used in class for drills and black belt uniforms. Otherwise, great place for me and my son.

I do love the name before it changed to MMA but now its alright. I cant say Taekwondo is a good martial arts to learn from but its decent. I just wish Tommy Cho Martial Arts would still be here, it will bring back so much memories. I just hate that we have to learn Taekwondo and Karate, it never feels right.

This is the first time our autistic 5-year old son has ever tried getting involved in ‘mainstream’ sports, and so we were extremely nervous as to what to expect. Master Cho and his team have been SO unbelievably kind and patient to us and our son. So far beyond our expectations! Felt I had to share this photo from this afternoon - our son definitely leaves room for improvement (!), but he LOVES it here every week, and the discipline and structure is everything he needs. Thank-you to Master Cho and everyone here for being so welcoming and inclusive for the neurologically diverse - if I could give 10 stars, I would!

Marietta Martial Arts at Woodlawn is the BEST! My almost 5 year son and 9 year old daughter have been going twice a week for about a year. Mr. Cahill, Ms. Flynn and now recently Master Cho are wonderful and have made the biggest difference in my kids lives. They love going to class because they make it fun while teaching respect, self discipline, and focus among many other things. We love it there and both of my kids want to become black belts!

The whole team led by Ms. Kelsi Flynn is engaging and enjoy working with the immense age range of their students. My 7 year old thrives in the environment and regularly asks to do back to back classes. I love their open attendance policy where you can take the kids to classes as frequently or infrequently as it works for your family.

We recently did our daughter’s birthday at their East lake location and it was amazing. The kids had fun, the team anticipated and acted on whatever strange plans we had. Ms. Flynn is the best!

Great school and instructors. I am happy to be an adult student. I would like to suggest an update to the curriculum and have students practice more with targets. A big percentage of drills are kicking on the air. The school has great training tools but the majority of the class is spent doing what the school calls “the one steps” leaving only few minutes to practice drills, target kicks and perfect the learned skills.

MMA has gone from being okayish to now being the worse in town. The number of students per instructor is crazy (too many students). On top of it, there are too many new comers, so skilled students do not get to practice properly. They have become solely focused on making money and not on any education at all. Sorry to see this place go this way.....

My 6-year-old son has been learning at Marietta Martial Arts for about a year now. Our experience had already been so positive that we thought it might be fun to have his birthday party there. Well, it was without question the most fun birthday party he's ever had, and the easiest and most stress-free party I've ever had! The instructors were deeply engaged with the children for the entire party, teaching and playing with them. The children literally did not stop laughing. The logistics were simple - show up 30 minutes in advance with a cake and cutlery and any decorations you want, and that is IT! I hope he wants to do it there every year!
