Truly enjoyed coming to this studio!! I started out with Pilates, then expanded and added on Lagree. The instructors are incredibly kind, encouraging, and give the best workouts (each class is amazing)! I especially love the smaller class sizes; it helped me meet new folks and connect with everyone within the class!

Amazing! Fun! Of course challenging and the best Pilates on the island. Not only cute and inviting, the owner is amazing. A heart of gold! She truly wants to offer the entire community an affordable way to stay in shape, have fun in a beautiful studio.
Lacy was so gracious to host our teen mentors this summer with an intro class and then gifted the girls fun coolers full of teen items… and samples of products she loves.

This studio completely changed my life. I’ve lost 30 pounds since starting Pilates and Lagree here, but it’s honestly about so much more than the physical transformation. Every time I walk through the doors, I feel like I’m coming home. The energy is welcoming, the instructors are supportive (and seriously motivating), and the workouts always leave me feeling strong and accomplished.
Also, can we talk about their clothes?! The cutest, comfiest activewear…I find myself shopping after almost every class! Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, ESS meets you exactly where you are and makes you feel like you belong. So grateful I found this place. 🤍

Love this studio and its classes. Surprisingly I have never been much of an exercise class person- it’s tough for me to consistently get away from kids and work to do them justice. But I find myself coming back again and again to East Side, primarily for the consistently excellent sweaty workouts but also for the lovely supportive community. The addition of Pilates reformers has been a huge plus in terms of type of work out- I do think there’s a difference in the overall effect. I honestly don’t care about “true Pilates technique” (they have it anyways), more about instructors and classes that provide safe and effective exercise (which they always prioritize). Thanks for helping me work on my bat wings and love handles!

Absolutely love this studio!
I've been taking classes at this Pilates studio in Hilo for a few months now, and it’s been a game-changer. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, they tailor the workout to meet your needs and help you progress safely.
The studio itself is clean, welcoming, and has a peaceful, uplifting energy. I leave every session feeling stronger, more centered, and energized. It’s such a gem in the heart of Hilo – I’m so grateful to have found this place!
If you’re looking to improve your strength, flexibility, and overall well-being, I highly recommend checking this studio out. 🌺

Edit two months after writing: My latest communications with the owner has only reaffirmed my review below. *Eight* months after our experience. Insane. Lacy reached out to me via text on my personal cell phone number, asking why I wrote this review. I literally never write reviews so that’s when you know… She called me entitled and THEN had the audacity to ask me to “never return to our studio (duh, why would I) or our home” — VERY ironic. She is entitled for making such a request. I am so shocked to have been harassed this way by someone who claims to be all about Aloha and the Hawaiian culture. I had to block her.
My husband and I were visiting Hilo in Dec 2024 and booked a Lagree class at this studio. We arrived right on time and the instructor wasn’t there. We, along with two other clients, were left waiting in the studio. We contacted the owner, who we thought was actually the one teaching the class but I guess not, and she said the instructor who was going to be teaching got in a fender bender (allegedly). If so, I hope she’s ok. I happen to be a Lagree instructor in CA, and she asked me if I could teach the class…. Like no??? I’m on vacation… The owner then said she would refund us and send me some of their merch but the latter never happened, and it was like pulling teeth to get a refund from her :/ I wish this studio the best but can’t say we would come back next time we’re in Hilo.

Easy Side Studio in Hilo is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I felt a sense of calm and positive energy. The space is beautifully maintained—clean, airy, and filled with natural light, creating the perfect environment for both Pilates and yoga practice.
Instructor Lacy is incredible—so knowledgeable and attentive! She makes sure that everyone feels comfortable and supported, no matter their skill level. Her personalized guidance and adjustments have really helped me improve my form and deepen my practice. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, her classes are challenging yet approachable.
The aloha spirit is so present here! The studio radiates warmth, kindness, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family. I also love that the studio is located in old Hilo town, which adds to the experience with its magical charm and classic vibe.
Since joining, I’ve felt a noticeable improvement in my strength, flexibility, and overall well-being. The variety of classes offered is fantastic, and I always leave feeling rejuvenated and energized.
If you're in Hilo and looking for a welcoming, high-quality Pilates and yoga studio, I can't recommend Easy Side Studio enough. It’s truly the highlight of my week!✨

I have attended several different classes at East Side Studio and would recommend them all. In the heart of downtown Hilo, this studio infuses the indigenous and local culture in the ambiance. Nothing but good vibes and movement with intention. I highly recommend this studio.

So much heart and soul goes into this East Side Studio! If you are looking for more than just a workout, you will be sure to find a loving community and support system all in one space. The details of the atmosphere, which not only offers beautiful flowers and greenery for a lovely ambiance, but also purifies the air, meets all the considerations and needs one could desire in a fitness session. Eastsidestudio is also baby and kid friendly, which is such a relief for all us mamas! You really can't ask for more from a fitness studio. So happy to see Aloha alive and well on the east side of the Big Island of Hawai'i!

Was very disappointed to find a Pilates studio that is not teaching the Pilates method during my travels to Hawaii.
None of the teachers are certified from any program that is affiliated with the National Pilates Certification Program. It appears that they are teaching “pilates”, or what they think it is. As someone who has trained in the Pilates method for over 30 years, I was very disappointed to see this. Especially because it is a majority of their branding. Becoming a Pilates instructor usually takes about 2 years and requires a rigorous 8+ hour exam. It seems sad that a “Pilates” studio doesn’t have any instructors who have studied the method seriously.
I was happy to find a small handful of studied Pilates instructors on island during my visit. I hope that people genuinely interested in the Pilates method will look elsewhere than here.
