Overall not horrible but also not the best
The good: the facility is big and there's usually plenty of equipment/space to workout. Most of the coaches are nice/friendly. The members are nice/friendly.
The bad: they make it difficult to cancel and they charge every 2 weeks so if you want to cancel you have to email their membership email before your current billing cycle goes through. There's no exceptions for military with orders, even if youre not sure exactly when youre leaving the island. If you have the 2x a week/open gym membership at most gyms that means 2 classes a week or (4 per billing cycle since it 2 weeks billing cycle bc most gyms dont care how you split it up) plus open gym use but here it means 2 per week OR open gym use so if you go to class you cant do open gym as well and if you did 1 class one week and 3 the next they would want you to pay for unlimited bc you did 3 classes in 1 week and if you go to open gym time during a week where you go to a class they would also want you to upgrade to unlimited. Additionally I was supposed to have a t-shirt shipped to me because I participated and paid to do a challenge but the shirts never got there before I left the island (the challenge was in April and I left may 29 so there was a month) they said they would ship it to me and never did. When I reached out twice I was ghosted.

I had the most fun here! I dropped in while on vacation and was blown away by the friendliness of everyone at the gym, athletes and coaches both! I feel like I have new friends and I can’t wait to work out again with coaches Angel, Rachel, and Melissa and all the awesome athletes!

As a personal trainer with my own gym where I train clients, I don’t often need to visit other facilities. But I have to say, Jumpship West and their incredible community truly stand out! The atmosphere is amazing, and their coaching staff is second to none.
Huge shoutout to their phenomenal coaches—Jay, Fred, and Rachel. They’re not only incredibly skilled but also kind, approachable, and down to earth. If you’re thinking about trying CrossFit, you owe it to yourself to check out this gym. It’s the perfect place to start or level up your fitness journey!

I’ve done a lot of group classes but this was my first CrossFit experience. The instructors are friendly and knowledgeable about proper form and safety. They give variations of the workout for different skill levels and offer corrections throughout the workout.
This gym is also very mom-friendly which was really cool to see. I don’t have kids but it was nice to see women being supported and provided a training environment where their children were welcome.

Strong, beautiful, women-led!
After completing a rigorous workout during my free trial, I chose Arkaios Crossfit over others because of the convenience and accessibility from my home. It is the quickest and easiest crossfit gym for me to get to. The facility is located in Waipahu on Leoloe street just off Farrington Hwy.
The gym itself is pretty big and they also use the parking lot to conduct exercises (I'm not sure if this is something new they started since covid restrictions increased the need for more open/outdoor activities). Although the parking lot is used for classes, there is still ample, free parking along the street.
Another deciding factor for me are the coaches. Although their website has profiles of all their coaches, male & female, I've only encountered the female coaches during the days and times I go. This is a shift from the "norm" of what I've experienced in the past (i.e. male dominated).
Still another thing I like are the variety of options to workout. There is the open gym option where an individual can work out on their own. This is great for those who know what they are doing and just need a space and some equipment to get swolle!
Then there is the Fit classes - small group, functional ftness/crossfit type, coach-led classes. Apparently there is yoga and barbell classes too but, I have yet to attend any of those.
Just before every class, the coach poses a question to the group then goes around listening to their responses. Each member first states their name and then their response to the question. I think this is pretty neat because it personalizes the experiences and gives the coach and the members time to get to know each other, even for a brief moment. Most people generally attend the same timeslot but, in the odd chance they don't, this gives them the opportunity to interact with different people.
I also like that classes are offered all throughout the weekdays: 5am, 6am, 8am, 915am, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, and 7pm. I do wish there were 7am classes though. This would be most convenient for *me* to just work out then go directly to work afterwards (there is one shower at the gym). I guess there just isn't enough demand for this timeslot.
I attend the Fit classes. They incorporate a warm up, a skill technique and/or strength, and the actual workout- a metabolic conditioning aka "metcon". Although weight and movements are prescribed, it's actually like a "choose your own adventure" type class - you get to scale everything to your level and ability.
I would have like to see a stretch following the sessions but most days the workout eats up most of the time and participants for the next timeslot are already waiting. I need to stretch so I typically just stretch on my own.
Once you sign up you will have access to the Wodify app that you can use to reserve your slot for coach-led classes and the open gym (I assume this helps gauge the number of people showing up, especially for those early morning times). The app lists details of the workout of the day. There are other features you can use to input your workout data but, I don't know much about those features since I don't use them.
There are 3 plan options: no contact, 3 month, and 1 year. I initially chose the 3 month unlimited because between covid and the uncertainty of my schedule, it hard to commit anything longer. At the end of my contract, I will have the option to renew for another 3 months or switch my contract timeline; it is very flexible.
Prices are reasonable and they even offer discounts for military and first responders!!

I love how Coach Steve knows how to do all the movements and the way he explains them to me just makes sense. When he told me to just "pull really hard" that was instrumental to me getting my first ring muscle up. I also appreciate how most gyms just give you a workout and that's it but Wes actually takes time to invest in your nutrition as well. Over the years he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and his suggestion to try the McDonald's 2 for $6 was instrumental to my fitness goals for 2020. I have seen such amazing progress after listening to his advice. Finally, there's nothing more inspiring than seeing Sydney out snatch me or Grandpa Ty smoking me in a wod. Overall, I would recommend Arkaios to anyone on the island wanting to try CrossFit and go to the Games, or anyone that wants to look like me.

After 2 years of lazy time off. A prayer was answered and I joined ACF. Within the first month my Movement is better, feeling stronger, numbers are at a PR high, and my body changing. These are just small byproducts of the of the caring, attentive and diligent Coaches at Arkaios Crossfit. The focus on form and proper body mechanics will help propel you to the next level. They have created and built a wonderful community. You will always recieve a pleasant greeting when you step through the doors.

Just got done with the 4 week program. It was awesome! I didn’t lose the 10 lbs I was set to lose but I did lose 5 lbs which is better than nothing. I enjoy the quick but hardcore hour workouts. I did get hit with sciatica half way through which was a bummer but I’m hoping to push through this month & learning more each time I attend.

Extremely disappointed! They treated me like any other money grabbing gym.
I love the CrossFit atmosphere. Just moved to Hawaii and was looking for a local box to join. My sister sent me a voucher from the website to receive a free month! I adjusted my work schedule and made it in for the appointment, excited to workout with my sister. I was then told I have to sign up for an entire year to get my one month. I’ve never been to this box before, how are they expecting me to sign up for an entire year.
Reread the voucher multiple times and nothing mentioned signing up for an entire year.
Arkaios, you let me down. I have always told people that CrossFit is different than a normal gym. But I was definitely mistaken with your box.

Joining their 6 week challenge at Arkaios was the best decision I made. I had let myself and my weight management go for a bit too long, and with juggling 2 jobs, my eating habits became way too comfortable with eating out of convenience. (Fast foods) I also found myself making all the excuses in the world, as to not working out, plus i was just tired ALL the time.
Joining this 6 week challenge, I loss a total of 31.4bs and 7.1%BF. Not only did i meet my goal, but i gained nutritional knowledge, and followed the meal plan they provided the entire 6 weeks. Gained knowledge on workouts and learned things I've never done before. The coaching staff there is so awesome! They thoroughly explain movements and workouts for you, can modify any move to help fit your fitness level or injury needs, continuously encourage you and push you to limits you may never thought you could ever do. The atmosphere there is contagious! A family feel, like a second home!
I couldn't be anymore thankful for all the staff that is involved with putting together and coaching this 6 week challenge. Now, I no longer have excuses!!! I learned to meal prep, so NO MORE fast foods and eating out of convenience. I MAKE time to workout, and I enjoy it!
The 6 week challenge is the best step to starting a healthier life style. So if your looking to join a gym or looking to lose some weight? I highly recommend Arkaios Gym!! Its THE place to be!!

I'm excited to say that I've lost 22.8 pounds and 6.7% body fat ever since joining Arkaios Crossfit's 6 week challenge! Not only did they give me unlimited access to their gym/classes, but provided me with a simple meal plan that was easy to follow. This is my first time joining a crossfit gym and I was so surprised at how the coaches and other Arkaios members are extremely supportive and encouraging. I'm excited to say that I've found something I can see myself doing long term and because I can actually see the results, I've joined Arkaios to continue making myself feel, look, and perform better!

I decided to join the 6 week challenge and I am seriously blown away! I lost a total of 21.4 pounds in 6 short weeks! I was even able to fit in a outfit I wanted from the junior's department in a size medium!!! Now, I will admit, I cheated on the diet part but imagine how much more I would've lost had I only followed the diet that they provide for you?!?!? They all make the challenge really attainable and push you to do your best! I loved every minute of the gym and they have plenty of modifications for any of the workouts, I should know! I have a dislocated elbow and just had an extreme surgery in November that I'm still partially healing from. Beginning this challenge I wasn't able to run the 400 meters, last week I ran 1.3 miles thanks to my favorite trainers Bryson and Jessica! Do not hesitate on this great opportunity! Sign up asap!

I followed the meal plan, worked out for at least three times a week, and lost 20 lbs during the six week challenge! Esther and the coaches at Arkaios Crossfit were always there to answer questions and encourage me the whole time! The fellow challengers were also a great community to be a part of and a big help during the more challenging times via the Facebook group. I signed up for the 6 week challenge and it was the best thing that I have done for myself in a long time. I lost 6 pounds and 3.9% body fat. I worked really hard and it shows. The workouts were tough (but in a good way). The coaches were awesome, great motivators, and explained each exercise well. They give you a meal plan that is really easy to go along with. I lost 24.8lbs and 5.1% body fat in 6 weeks with the 6 week challenge. I haven’t felt this good in years. If you actually stick to the diet plan and put in work during the workouts, you will see results. The coaches are really cool and teach you how to correctly do the workout before you do it. The HIIT classes are challenging and it helped me shed my 1 mile time by over 2 mins. Overall great experience. You will not regret going to Arkaios CF!!

I just completed the 6 week challenge and lost almost 12 pounds! It was a great environment with excellent coaches and a huge support system. They answered every question I had and kept me motivated. Crossfit sounds intimidating but everyone made me feel very comfortable and could teach alternatives to any exercise so I could build up to the more challenging workouts. This review is coming from a guy that sat on his ass playing video games 6-8 hours a day for the last 4 years, gaining almost 40lbs! Arkaios has jump-started my life again and giving me the motivation to be active and feel good about it. I took the 6 week challenge and lost 24.8 lbs 9.6%BF and 5 inches off my waist. It wasn't easy, but I pushed through every week to do my best. It sucked being the last person to be done in most of the workouts. The coaches push you and modify things to help get you to the next level. Everyone there wants the same thing, so as a group you'll make it but you can't do it if you don't follow the meal plan they provide! Don't cheat and you will succeed.
*Personally I'm not very flexible or coordinated - that is why these coaches are amazing. They were always there to say "fix this" or "try this" and never gave up on me. I cannot thank the coaches enough.
This challenge is tough. The coaches are amazing. This place is worth the time, money, and effort!

Arkaios is not just a gym, they are a family. I just recently finished their 6th iteration of their 6 week challenge. I lost 22.4lbs and 8%BF.
The coaches at Arkaios are AMAZING and each one motivates you in different ways. They are so accepting and helpful that it’s impossible not to see major improvements in yourself.
Whether you are trying to lose weight, gain muscle, or just get in overall better shape, Arkaios is the place to do it!!!

Just finished six week weight loss Challenge six weeks. Arkaios crossfit gym the nutritionist was awesome and informative. Staff and coaches care about everyone attaining there goals I lost 26 pounds in six weeks. Pass my PT Test for the Army Reserve, the best thing of all you get your money back if you lose 20 pounds or 5 percent body fat. I definitely recommend to everyone to join as a member or do the next six weeks weight loss Challenge.

I just completed the free 6 Week Challenge at Arkaios Crossfit and I could not be more happy with my results! I lost 10 lbs and 7.9% body fat during the challenge, in addition to gaining so much knowledge on nutrition and exercise from real experts. What I love about coming to this gym is that everyone, the coaches, nutritionist, and gym-goers, are very supportive and welcoming. The CrossHIIT coaches are very good at teaching each movement to beginners and experienced members alike and are attentive to everyone — encouraging us to keep pushing and working on our form. Esther, the nutritionist, is always just a text away if we have questions about what’s working or not working for weight loss. Lastly, as someone who has never had a gym membership and was clueless on everything, it was so nice to work out with folks who were always willing to lend a hand. I also should mention that there is a keiki room with a great big window so parents can bring their kids to the gym without having to pay a sitter... what a bonus!

I decided to join the 6-week weight loss challenge and i have to say that it was one of the best decisions i have made for 2018. I wanted to start this year of right and i came to the right place. I loved everything about this challenge. They provide you with your own meal plan, which is so easy to follow along with workouts for all fitness level. All of the coaches are motivating and always encouraging you to give it your all, along with other Arkaios CrossFit members.
I lost 12lbs and 6% body fat with the 6-week challenge. They literally give you all the tools necessary to reach your goal. Arkaios CrossFit is a family, military, and any fitness level friendly. Stop by and check it out, no pressure on their part.

Arkaois Crossfit 6 week challenge is one of the best challenges out there. This challenge includes personalized meal plans, face book group, nutritionist 30 minute 1:1 appointment, motivational coaches, and overall great encouragement. This challenge has changed my outlook on life and made me realized how important it is to take care of our health both physically and mentally. I joined their 6 week challenge in January 2018. I was so excited! They stated that they could assist me with modified CrossHIIT moves to help me since I have RA and Sjögren’s Syndrome. It turned out to be a problem. I didn’t even have a chance to workout due to multiple flare-ups in my arm/shoulder, back and knees. I was still able I do the meal plan and do light workouts of walking on the treadmill, swimming and lots of stretching. I was able to lose 15lbs. even with being on Prednisone that causes weight gain.

I did the 6 week challenge. Overall, it was a good experience. The meal plan is very straightforward and easy to use. The workouts were challenging with great variety. My goal was to lose all the weight I put on when my husband and I moved to island. I lost 12 pounds in the five weeks. I got the nutrition and exercise reset I was seeking.

One of the bigger gyms on the island, attentive coaching, and clean. Three seperate work out areas 1. Main wod area where all the main crossfit classes are held, 2. Is where the cross hiit classes are, and 3rd is the powerlifting and oly area. People there are very welcoming and helpful. My experience here is with the 6 week challenge. James ,esther and the coaching staff made it a easy transition into clean eating. Very supportive and yet dared to challenge the group. Looking for a change in life style in a supportive environment ? Take your health back? Drop some pounds? With their help i dropped 24lbs, 33 %body fat to 19 % body fat.

Just completed the 6 week challenge and lost 20 lbs! If you have a hard time starting or failing in your weightloss journey, you need to come here! I was hesitant at first because I haven't worked out in years. I needed to be healthier and stronger for my son. This totally kicked my butt, but I'm glad I did it.
The owner, the coaches, the staff and the challengers all made it all possible. They are knowledgeable and take pride of what they do. Thanks to them I am more aware of what I eat and how I work out. I already have people who want to jump on board the next challenge. This is not the end but the beginning of a healthier lifestyle.
When you come here, you will feel the sense of ohana, "family." Everyone helps each other and pushes each other to get through the workout. I can't wait to join the next one. Thank you Arkaios family for helping me feel younger and stronger again!

I joined asking if it was possible to lose 20 pounds in six weeks (without being miserable). It is!! I am so thankful for these past six weeks and would recommend the program to anyone.
The Cross HIIT classes offer a non-intimating atmosphere with people of all fitness levels. The coaches are helpful and available to correct technique or help modify difficult exercises. The nutrition plan makes meal planning simple and effective. The nutritionist is available to answer simple questions along the way and is available for a a one on one consultation to each participant. The best part of the gym is the sense of community and the encouraging atmosphere. Just join, you won't regret it. Unless you regret looking and feeling better.

We just completed the Arkaios 6 wk Challenge and it was absolutely AMAZING!!! Everything about Arkaios is top notch from their facilities (big and clean), to their staff and coaches (awesome, knowledgeable, and friendly but they will kick your okole during the wkouts) to the people who fill this place. Owner, James, takes pride of his gym. From CEO to Front Desk attendants, you can tell James truly loves his Gym. I truly believe if you have an awesome CEO, everyone else working with him is just as awesome! I felt like I was part of an ohana. Everyone was positive and encouraging!
I joined in the 6 week challenge and i do not regret anything about it! The challenge is well organized. We are guided by a nutritionist who helps and corrects and suggests healthier alternatives. The coaches are there to make sure you're pushing your hardest and encouraging you to go lower in your squats! Lol! I attended the 7pm CROSSHIIT class and my coaches were the bomb!!!! I love the energy you guys brought to the room.
I released 24.5 lbs in 6 weeks and this has motivated continue my fitness journey! I will be attending the next 6 week challenge in Jan!

This place was what I needed in my life and I am so glad that I responded to the 6 week challenge Facebook ad that popped up in my newsfeed. I knew this was the place for me from the first time I stepped through the doors and everyone inside was so friendly and welcoming to me!
All the coaches are awesome! They are knowledgable, motivating, encouraging, and do their best to get the best out of every single person working out in their class. For the 6 week challenge you can attend as many classes as you want, you are provided with an easy to follow meal plan, and also are provided access to a nutritionist, who was also amazing, to answer any and all our questions along the way. It was truly a well put together program with a goal that is definitely achievable!
Joining Arkaios and the 6 week challenge was the best thing I have done for myself in a long time, and I am truly grateful to everyone and thankful for all the help, encouragement and for making my wife and I feel more at home during our short time on the island! Only wish is that we could be here longer to keep attending classes!!

Sitting on my couch, eating some Doritos, scrolling through Facebook, I came across an ad for a free 6 week weight loss challenge. Intriguing. I’ve tried to lose weight on my own before. My downfall is when I feel like I’ve put in so much effort but my results are minimal. I get discouraged and fall back into my old, unhealthy habits. I walked in for my consultation and the first thing I see is 2 mommies who are RIPPED, doing pull ups. It was intimidating. Maybe this isn’t the place for me.
From the consultation, I realized I really had nothing to lose (except some of my mom gut) so I did join for the 6 week challenge. YOOOOO, I thought I was going to die after the first class. Not only was I unhealthy, I realized I’m freaking WEAK. I couldn’t even do one push up from my knees! What did I get myself into? I followed the meal plan they gave me, saw a bunch of motivating posts from fellow challengers in our Facebook group, continued to show up for the minimal 2 more times that week. Dropped 5 lbs that first week. Say whhhhhhaaaa? Amazing!
The coaches and staff are the best! Always available for a chat, to give advice, or motivate you to give a little extra. They have zero time for BS but they also know your limitations and will find an appropriate modification to your workout if needed. If you join the 6 week challenge, you also get the luxury of a dietician who guides your healthy food choices to aid in your goals.
Joining, I thought losing weight was my goal. It’s so much more than that. Doing the challenge made me realize I like feeling stronger. I feel better with the food choices I make. I’m showing my kids by example how to be more mindful of a healthy lifestyle. It’s so cliche but it really is a family. A majority of my fellow participants for the challenge have converted their 6 weeks into a full membership. That’s a no brainer. How can you go back to doing Jazzercise or YouTube workouts after this?
