Yoga Movement Returns to Maui Yoga Path
After several years of dormancy, Yoga Movement has returned to Maui Yoga Path — and what a joyful return it is. I just completed my second movement class with Deni Roman, and it was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. It is a wonderful addition to my Iyengar yoga practice.
The class was both challenging and deeply relaxing, striking a beautiful balance that left me feeling energized and grounded. The chanting music and Deni’s fluid, intuitive guidance offered a refreshing contrast to the more structured Iyengar practice. It was a welcome shift — less rigid, more rhythmic, and full of heart.
Having taught Yoga Movement since the opening of MYP, Deni brings a depth of experience and a spirit of evolution to the practice. Her joy in teaching it again is contagious. Thank you, Deni, for letting us be part of that joy.

The ocean-front setting is beautiful and calming, but the instructor, Deni, outshines this with her compassionate, wise, and knowledgeable guidance, sprinkled with humor and life lessons. Plus, everyone in attendance was friendly and welcoming. I attended 5 morning sessions over 4 weeks and these classes were one of my top experiences on the island. I learned so much to take home with me. I intend to explore her vast video library once I get home. Thank you, Deni!😘🌴

Deni Roman’s Maui Yoga Path is the best Iyengar Yoga school I know. Deni is my teacher and I am deeply grateful for her tutelage. There is truly much to be gained by improving strength, balance, and flexibility in mind, body, and spirit in Maui Yoga Path’s thoughtful, nurturing environment steps from the sands of Keawakapu Beach overlooking our beautiful Pacific.

Awesome sunrise class. No need to pre-register. Parking behind hotel in gravel lot. Walk through the parking lot to head toward beach. Studio faces ocean at ground level. Really enjoyed the focus on opening the chest with proper spine alignment. Great way to start the day! And if you are here from the mainland, 7 AM isn't that early due to time change - bonus!

Just returned from a week of practice with Deni at Maui Yoga Path including a 3 day workshop. What at incredible experience. The studio is spacious and welcoming with some of the best views you can imagine, with the location being directly on the ocean. Deni's instruction and teaching is second to none. A very rare combination of alignment, instruction and spirituality. She is one of the best, if not the best Iyengar yoga instructor in the country. Very grateful to have met Deni and Maui Yoga Path. Can't wait to return.

I loved the beach-front location and watching turtles spash as we did sunrise yoga. There is a lot of instruction because the instructors want to make sure that the poses are done properly, which I appreciated. All levels of skill are welcomed. Classes are pose-based, not "vinyasa flow", but there is also a more active class for people who want more cardio excercise.

Experience involved a lot of listening to instruction which took away from the beach yoga experience. Felt like it was more about doing it as she said versus listening to your own body or being embodied. There was no freedom to make adjustments according to your own body, state of mind or energy level. I believe yoga is an extension of your own personal journey within the physical and spiritual realms. Restriction of any kind seems counterintuitive to the natural direction of a yogic experience.

Do you like yoga? Do you enjoy hearing the ocean, seeing the ocean? Perhaps seeing the occasional sea turtle and whale While doing your downward dog? If you answered no to any of these questions you are not human and we can never be friends.
Location is key at this yoga studio besides the fact that the instructors especially deni is awesome! The lady instructors are definitely the best and take their time to correct your posture in the poses. My favorite part of this studio has to be, the ability to do yoga while seeing the most beautiful views ever. I always take the sunrise classes when I'm in Maui.
If I could I'd take this studio back home with me. I truly enjoyed this yoga studio! The class fees include may rentals.

Excellent teachers in a beautiful location, I especially liked Jasmine's classes. Yoga at 7:00 am while over looking the ocean is a perfect way to start any day and the evening classes help relax and stretch after a busy day of hiking. My only regret is that I didn't know about the upcoming retreat so I could have extended my trip. I will be back.

The Maui Yoga Path is located at one of the most wonderful beaches on Maui. The studio provides all the props you need for practicing Iyengar Yoga and offers a lot of space. Everything is very well organized and in very good condition. But even more important for me is that the Maui Yoga Path truly transformed my life into an even happier and healthier person. When I entered the studio, I was welcomed by Deni Roman with a very warm Aloha. She wanted to know about my health conditions and I told her about my shoulder, neck and lower back problems and that I had to give up some activities that I loved so much, like running and playing tennis. Deni Romanʻs classes helped me tremendously to get better in many ways. Each day that I came to Yoga class (4-5 times a week) made me feel better and very soon I could run again. My whole body is in much better shape, better than ever (and I thought I was an active person.) I have been a Yoga student at the Maui Yoga path for many years now and I love it and appreciate Deniʻs way of teaching which is very detailed. That helped me to go deeper into my body and to understand the connection between body and mind and spirit. I am learning so much and can only say: Thank you big time, or as we say in Hawaiʻi Mahalo nui loa!!! I am looking forward to my next Yoga class at the Maui Yoga Path with Deni Roman and her team of fabulous teachers !!!

Deni Roman, from the Maui Yoga Path is the best Iyengar yoga teacher I have ever encountered. She is thoughtful and caring, with great knowledge. Deni has the uncanny ability to step into a class of all skill levels and reach each individual in the class and improve their practice. She is great with beginners, people with injuries, as well as advanced students. I stumbled across her studio the first time I came to Maui, and now her classes are the main reason I return to Maui. If you have the chance to take one of her workshops, it will really enhance your practice.
Her studio, which overlooks the ocean, is beautiful and well-equipped.

I recommend The Maui Yoga Path to anyone traveling to Maui. There are any number of Yoga studios on the island but there is none more professional, or in a more beautiful location, than Deni Roman's ,Maui Yoga Path studio located on the ground floor of the Mani Kai resort in South Kehei.
Deni is an Iyengar Yoga instructor with many years of teaching experience. She welcomes new students as well as those who return to the island and take her classes year after year. She pays close attention to each student , and, if necessary, recommends asanas they might continue to do to strengthen their bodies and make them more flexible. Quieting the mind and focusing within while practicing asana with the sound of the ocean in the background is a memory to take home after vacation time ends. Iyengar Yoga is based on alignment of the body in the joining of body, mind and spirit. Deni Roman's Maui Yoga Path infuses the feeling and spirit of aloha to the practice of Yoga. Don't miss the opportunity of visiting The Maui Yoga Path studio when you come to Maui. Alicia Otis

Maui Yoga Path is the studio to visit when in Kihei, HI. Deni Roman takes yoga to a new level with a serious focus on proper technique. Her ability to cue the student, emphasize proper posture and understand the limitations - and potential of her students is rare. I have been a student of yoga for 15years and Deni has spoiled me for other classes. I tell everyone I know to go to this studio for the ultimate yoga instruction - Maui-style. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that you can see and hear the ocean from the yoga mat.

Deni is an excellent Iyengar Yoga teacher whose commitment to this path is evident in her teaching and in the way she lives her life. She had a strong impact on me and in attending a workshop in Vancouver with her I met other people who had also experienced something similar. She inspired me to pursue an Iyengar Yoga Path because with her I could sense a depth of something I wanted to experience for myself. Her yoga studio is spacious and lovely. The teachers she has chosen to work there are also excellent. So if you are looking for what yoga has to offer beyond a physical workout....I highly recommend that you go see Deni at the Maui Yoga Path.

I was in Maui a few years ago for a couple weeks to work on my relaxation. One place I would highly recommend going to if you're on the island is Maui Yoga Path. Not only to you get the joy of hearing the ocean waves during the class, but the practice is also extremely wonderful. I was a beginner and was nervous going in, but the instructor was patient, explained all of the poses and would assist me as I went through. My experience was excellent. I would recommend Maui Yoga Path to anyone visiting or living there.

We had an amazing experience at Maui Yoga Path. The instructor was very mindful of the different levels of participants in the class. Studio was beautiful too. Class rates up there as one of the best I've taken in a long time. Wish I would have found it sooner. Hope to return to Maui and make their classes part of my vacation!

Deni is an outstanding teacher. She is thoughtful and intelligent and funny and warm. She focuses on the whole student...not just the physical. The studio is oceanfront and exactly how you would picture doing yoga in Hawaii...ideal and pristine.
