The gym that tries to do too much at once. You know the guy that just has to have everything and ends up weighing themselves down because they're just doing too much? That's Empire. It fel extremely cluttered, their crossfit area was just a mess, it was too hot and the only way to cool down was to open the floodgates of the late night bugs, and it just seemed dirty. I also found the locker room was significantly lacking. I personally like a gym with actual lockers so when I workout before shift I can properly secure my things.

I will give it to them, their variety of different machines is impressive, but it wasn't enough to win me over. Personally if they got rid of half their squat racks, bench press set ups, and stages for power lifting, it would really open that room and not feel so condensed. I was also super surprised to see the small amount of free benches near their dumbbells. The gym has lots of potential, but it just wasn't feeling right for me.

This is hands down the cleanest warehouse-style gym I’ve ever been to—and I’ve trained in gyms across nearly every state and all over Europe. Empire gives you that raw, hard-core training vibe without the accompanying hard-core smell (huge win).

I only did a few day passes during my trip, but even then, the owner personally reached out to help me—early in the morning and late at night. Not even sure when the guy sleeps, but it shows he really cares.

Can’t speak too deeply on the community, but everyone I encountered was kind, respectful, and focused—actually working out instead of camping on machines scrolling their phones. People were more than willing to work in, and conversations didn’t get in the way of training.

Equipment-wise, it’s a lifter’s paradise: more power racks than dumbbells (which is saying something), and lots of specialized gear you don’t find in your average commercial gym.

If it weren’t 35 minutes from where I was staying, I would’ve gone every day. 100% coming back next time I’m in town.

So I was doing a little bit of work for Garret and he offered me a membership after I finished what I was doing and I can’t thank him enough for what he did for me. I had a couple hours to kill while my husband was at the I-Pull across the road, so I checked out Empire. I'm so glad I did! Owner Scotty greeted me at the "visitors" door, gave me a quick tour and some helpful pointers, then let me get on with it. The equipment was clean and well maintained, the changing room was nice, the aerobic and weight-training areas were well-equipped with a variety of options. I had a very positive experience and will make Empire a required stop on every trip to I.F. All the stars.

Of all the gyms I've been part of, Empire is by far the best. If you're looking for a family friendly atmosphere, this is it. The owners are TOP tier individuals. They have a great selection of equipment. I came from another gym and had to adjust a bit from what I was used to, and Scottie and Garet have both been really helpful with questions on their machines. You can tell how proud they are of their gym, in the way they interact with clients, upkeep with machines, and filling requests we have. The cleanliness and disinfection routine is also really good.

This place doesn’t follow up on calls & messages. I was in town for a month for work trying to get a month pass. They aren’t staffed by the time I get off to try & get a pass or a month membership. I’d go on the weekends but I drive back to Boise for the weekends anyway. I’ve called 3 different numbers on their website and also texted. Message them on IG? I bought a day pass while visiting from out of town. The facility is clean, organized, and state of the art. Great variety of powerlifting equipment, free weights, strongman gear, atlas stones, and even has a posing room. I especially loved the sauna and cold plunge. Not crowded at all, great gym vibe. I felt so safe and noticed whoever is there watches out for each other each of the 3x I’ve been so far. It wasn’t too busy at the times I went, but I met kind & considerate people each time without feeling like I had to hide under a hoodie. The owners did it right, top notch cleanliness, amount of equipment, sauna & cold tub, 24/7 access, and price. The owners obviously care and are passionate about what they do and the patrons / community. This is so encouraging coming out of the military environment. Also there’s optional competitions and events. Can’t say enough good things.

Great selection of gym equipment. My husband and I were looking for a better selection of equipment than Anytime Fitness. Not only do they have hack squat and lots of squat racks, but they have a sauna and ice bath as well. They also offer a veterans discount! $70 for a family of five, and no cancelation fees or contracts. Great place!

The Empire is goated
From more casual lifters to the heavyweight lifters, this place is awesome. They even have a chiropractic office in the building connected to it. I had a dirt bike accident that messed up my back/ribs and so it’s been nice to get treatment from the chiropractor then being able to go right into a workout to rebuild that muscle. It’s nice not to feel judged for lifting lighter while recover from an injury. Everyone is friendly and minds their own business and offers help when needed. Would never hesitate to ask someone how to use a certain machine. If you’re thinkin about making the switch, do it, you won’t regret it at all

Went in for a trial membership as I'm considering leaving Gold's. Facilities are super nice, good equipment selection, and everybody seemed friendly.

I'm seriously considering making the switch I just need to shuffle some things around with regards to child care. Their child care program at Empire is not quite as robust as Golds but that's okay because from what I'm seeing the overall membership experience is going to be better at Empire.

I went ahead and made the switch and I couldn't be happier. Such a different vibe from working out at some other local gyms! Empire has a good community, a nice staff, and most importantly a comfortable, safe place to work out!

I found Empire while I was in Idaho Falls for an extended work trip. I needed a place to do my programming. It is often difficult to find facilities that have all of the equipment I need and do not have a problem with me working out on my own. Empire has all of the equipment I need not to skip a beat. There are Concept 2 Rowers, Ski Ergs, Bike Ergs, Echo bikes, barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, and so much more. There’s also an extensive number of machines if that’s your thing, as well as strongman and powerlifting equipment. The staff and members have been super friendly. The facility is immaculate, and the locker rooms even have a sauna and cold plunge tub. If I find myself in Idaho Falls again, I will be back.

Sweet place. Was staying in Idaho Falls for a few weeks and was recommended getting a temporary membership here. Definitely geared more towards powerlifting and a little bit of CrossFit/functional fitness which is great if you’re into it (calibrated plates, specialty bars, a lot of other nice equipment). The owner (Garrett) is super cool and easy to get ahold of if you have any issues. 24/7 access is nice. They do classes with the local kids in the evenings which can be a little crowded if you want to use the turf area while they are but it’s better to see kids active than behind IPads. Support a small business and check it out.

Where to even start? Empire Strength and fitness is by far the best gym in Eastern Idaho. Maybe even the entire state. How do I know? I left and moved to Boise. The gym has a family atmosphere and an all out team vibe. It’s super easy to make friends and feel safe at this gym. Once you’re in, you’re practically like family. Now the equipment. Bishop Barbell creates the majority of the equipment for the gym, meaning the equipment, barbells, free weights, squat racks (for days), benches, etc, is all produced locally and brand new in the gym. The quality is exceptional. The owners must have hired a team of scientists from the Manhattan Project to design the layout because its bombin! Even after leaving the gym (because I moved, remember), I can’t get enough of their social media presence. Do yourself a favor and leave whatever gym you might be at right now and go try out the Empire. You will not be disappointed.

I have been working out in Empire Strength and Fitness off and on for about a year. I started working out when I was 14 years old and I’m 63 now. This the best gym that I’ve ever belong to. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they do a great job running a real gym instead of one of these fluff gyms that expect you to join and never return. If you truly want to get into good shape, come by and visit, get a free workout and see how you like the positive atmosphere with some great music and people.

I’m pretty harsh on my reviews and feelings of gyms, however my biggest (gym) regret is not joining the Empire sooner.

It’s like a family, unlike any gym I have been apart of. They highlight everyone’s successes in their socials, not just the “elite” gym goers.

It boggles my mind that other gyms have twice the membership and/or resources but half the specialty equipment that Empire does. They have comp plates, squat bar, yokes, bench blocks, atlas stones, tires, deadlift bars and so much more! Name one other gym in the region with all this equipment.. I’ll wait!;)

This gym is for people who actually want to better their health and do big things on stages and platforms. This is a gym for athletes, casual gym goers, powerlifters, body builders, CrossFitties and anyone in between!

Empire truly is the best in Idaho Falls. (And the world, probably)

This place was excellent! We were in town for a special event and only needed a month membership. We loved that there was 24/7 access so we could go literally any time. The facility is very clean with plenty of room to do any kind of workout. We did HIIT workouts but other folks who were in there were doing strength and some were doing stretching. There is no shortage of equipment and they have everything you could possibly need to do any kind of workout you want. Garet, the owner, was incredibly friendly and welcoming and helped us get set up in just a few minutes. If we were living in Idaho Falls this would be our primary gym for sure!

This is a great new gym in Idaho Falls. I would say they are more performance based rather than just the run-of-the-mill fitness center. All of the equipment is brand new and very nice, provided by Bishop Barbells. You can work on CrossFit activities, strength training, StrongLifts, cardio etc… easily here. It’s not crowded (which is a big plus) and very affordable. Considering what you get, this is probably the best value for the mo eye gym on the Idaho Falls area. It’s a 24 hour gym and the owner is very nice and even quite helpful. Because this is locally owned and the experience you get here is important to the owner, I would highly recommend you give this place a try. You can even pay month to month if you choose.
