The absolute best in the neighborhood! I’ve tried every gym in the area and a few smaller studios like 9 Round and keep coming back due to the amazing workouts, outstanding trainers and great value! You won’t find a better price or efficient mind body workout!

I’m having such a great time being a part of 9R. I don’t struggle to keep up with my workouts anymore, knowing that I’m in and out in 30 minutes is encouraging to keep coming.
Peter has been so helpful at every step of the way!

Before the pandemic I was a member at a different 9R location for about a year and a half and was unquestionably in the best shape of my life. Post-pandemic I've tried different gyms, workout routines, etc., but nothing has been quite right. I finally decided to come back to 9R and have been at the Lakeview location for about a month now and I'm already reminded exactly why I love this format and why it works so well for me.
Exercising unfortunately bores me easily, so the daily changing routines is perfect. I've also never been one who can show up to a gym and just throw together a routine myself, so it's fantastic that there's always a trainer there to show you the moves, correct your form, encourage you, etc. Peter and Aaron specifically are awesome and have both been great with providing modifications for injuries too.
Another huge plus is that there are no class times, so as long as the place is open you can show up whenever and hop right in. Like other reviewers have said, it's pleasantly surprising each and every time how much you can cram into a 30 minute workout and how much better you feel, both mentally and physically, when you're done. Hope to be coming to 9R Lakeview for years to come :)

I absolutely love 9Round so far! Being able to be in and out in 30 minutes with a customized/effective workout that varies every single day keeps me hooked and wanting to come back. Both Peter and Aaron are a joy to work with.

9Rs is stellar. The concept’s pretty simple. But effective. Nine rounds at progressive exercise stations. Three minutes each. 1 cardio. 1 weight toning. 6 gloves-on and on the bags. 1 abs/core. All with 30-second HIIT intervals in between. They put this all on a board for you, and the PA system announces the flash rounds. The instructors pull you off the bags every so often to weave in 1-on-1 work. I’m surprised how fast those 33 minutes go and how much stronger you feel squeezing all that in that half hour too. It fits into your day quite nicely.
I’ve been going to the Lakeview location since 2019. Then the pandemic hit. When things picked up, I was traveling back/forth to CA and ended up at a gym down the street. Perfectly fine. But after two years I hit a plateau and simply got bored of the routines and all the machines. Peter and team have made working out interesting again and something I look forward to. After a while they get to know you and can read your energy level, so they challenge you when the moment’s right. I’ve certainly paid less for a monthly membership. And I’ve also paid the premium for more. The fee seems reasonable when you weigh in having a sort of personal trainer or coach and a customized work out waiting for you each time. Also, comes with gloves and wraps.
I’m a *big fan* for two reasons. First, you can drop in whenever you like. There’s no set class and no reservations. You can work out at 7:00 on the dot. 8:22. 10:15. Doesn’t matter. You simply rotate in as soon as you’re wrapped up. Second, I’ve crossed the 200-workout milestone and have never had the same 9-station routine. Not once. Good for mixing things up so your body doesn’t get used to the monotony. And even better for my very short attention span.
One thing I’m especially glad to see: it’s for all shapes, sizes, and fitness notches. You’re in there to do *your own* personal best. Some days will be better than others. But it is work. You get what you want out of it. You can toe-tap the bags lightly. Or you can punch hard. It’s up to you every session to chart what results you want to see. Go at your own comfort level.
There’s technique. There’s having fun. And there’s feeling badass. I don’t see why you can’t do all three in a work out. It’s also great for your mental health. And some days I genuinely have needed it.
You really can just drop-in and they’ll rotate you in on the spot or you can fill out the online form. They’ll text you and answer any questions you have before you stop by to try it out. Or reply/DM me. I’ve referred a few friends and happy to share what I know, but this should cover the basics 🥊🥊

I've been coming to 9Rounds Lakeview for the last 8 months. I love the flexibility - I don't have to wait for a specific class time, I just show up when it works best for my schedule - and the coaches are wonderful. Abbie, Therese, and Fernando have been wonderful motivators, really pushing me to make the most of the 30 minutes and changing up each session so that every day feels interesting and challenging. It might be small but I also love that they always greet me by name so it feels like a real community in the heart of the city.

Varied workout ...different every day. I like the "quickness" of the session as it only takes 30 min.At the other club(traditional health club) I go to , between warm up and after stretching I'm done after 2 1/2 hours.

I love working out at 9ROUNDS in Wrigleyville. All of the trainers are great and really work with you to achieve your goals. They add on to workout to meet skill levels and challenge their members. The facility is always very clean and never too busy. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking for a quick but high intensity workout by motivational trainers!

These guys are awesome, the workouts are always killer and after being a member for a bit over a year there hasn't been a single time it felt repetitive.
Also, throughout this pandemic Ari (the owner) has been great. She's been communicative about what they are doing, she willingly froze our memberships when they had to close down, and made efforts to take her of her employees.
Now that they are open again they have gone above and beyond to make being at the gym less scary and comfortable. They clean stations after every person goes through and still take the time to a little (distanced) 1:1 training.
This gym is 100% worth the membership.

Because they limit class size and constantly clean equipment between clients, I feel very safe working out here. The trainers are there to guide you and they are all very positive and encouraging. It’s a really good full body workout. The time flys by.

Love this place! The trainers are super friendly and knowledgeable. Covid-19 protocols are outstanding. Trainers sanitize equipment after every use, and no more than 4 people working out in the gym at a time. The workout changes every time, and I always feel a sweat. So happy I found 9 round to keep me fit!

Love working out at 9Round. I signed up in February shortly before COVID started. I liked the format of the workouts and the fact that it changes everyday so it never gets boring.
You always feel encouraged to workout at the level that you’re most comfortable in and there’s always 1-2 trainers in each session to show you how to do the exercises and answer any questions you may have.
I was happy to see them reopen once restrictions were lifted. I think the reopening procedures have struck the right balance of making me feel safe while working out while still keeping the normal 9Round experience as good as possible. They’ve taken as many precautions as possible such as limiting the number of people in each class by asking you to sign up for a specific class time online, constant cleaning of the equipment after each use and requiring masks during the workout.
I would highly recommend 9Round to anyone who’s considering it.

One month in and absolutely love the place. The way the gym is handling the covid situation is commendable but the best part is the trainers Miles, Angel and especially Rasell. I just have so much fun mixing combinations and pushing limits with Rasell in the gym.

Love this place! Killer workouts and the best trainers! Fave gym pre-Covid and really happy with the adjustments they've made. It's a little weird to work out with a mask, but I like to think I'm training for the air on Machu Picchu!
Safety precautions: masks (probably #1), extra air filter systems, designated work out areas, and cleaning every station after use. They also limit the # of people inside.
Bottom line: Ari and the trainers have really thought through how to make the 9Round experience as safe as possible. Happy to be back!

It could not be more convenient. No class times, so I don't have to worry if I need to stay late at work and show up to work out when it's convenient for me. Love that it's only 30 minutes and the workout changes every single day. I tend to get bored with classes 45 min + of the same thing and dread going. When I know it's only 30 minutes and the coaches will encourage me to push myself the whole time - it's easy to get motivated to go. The location is perfect for me and I love that they include pad work - that's the best part!

The workout is short and intense. You get a well-packed full body workout in 30 minutes that changes everyday. You could not ask for better.
Includes a warm up to get your heart rate going, some mix of weighted workout, coordination boxing, multiple heavy bag stations, and abs. You can work as hard as you are able, and set your own pace, but there are instructors to help push, explain the techniques, and answer any questions.

The morning trainers are good so try to go in am. The evening "trainers" and i use that word very generously. Just stand around and dont work. They just kind of hang out. Poor management. They are justcleaning and chilling out. Are you there?they could care less.

9Round is the only workout/gym that I get excited to go to- the timing of the workout itself is perfect for a busy schedule but when you put the effort into those 30 minutes (which is hard not to with the trainers supervision, encouragement and one-on-one work!) my body feels better than it ever has after a 60 minute session on a cardio machine.
The trainers at the Lakeview location who I have worked with (Miles, Johanna and Asher) are all incredibly positive and helpful. I don't feel intimidated by them but I do definitely feel motivated!
For a gym comparable to other boutique fitness studios, 9Round's pricing is extremely reasonable. I cannot stress how happy I am that I found a location near my apartment with hours that work with my work and weekend schedule.
