I’ve been a student at AIR for over 4 years and I’ve never felt more at home. This studio and management prioritizes the client experience and community building that is lacking in so many other boutique fitness studios. All the instructors offer their own style to their classes, but you still know you’re going to have a consistent work out every time. The instructors ensure you’re always safe when trying new tricks or poses. I’ve gotten do much stronger since starting at AIR and built so much self confidence.

It was yoga, but hardly air.
The teacher was nice, and the ambience in the class was good. BUT—
I’ve been practicing aerial yoga for about 7 years and have attended numerous studios, so I assume I know a lot about it. Unfortunately, the class here didn’t live up to my expectations. Only 3–5 asanas involved the hammock, and the rest of the exercises were done on the mat. There were no traditional hammock asanas and no upside-down poses at all. On top of that, the room temperature wasn’t comfortable.

We attended an air yoga class as a group of four, each with different fitness levels and trying it for the first time. The studio was inclusive and inviting, and the instructor was incredibly kind and attentive. She offered thoughtful modifications for every pose and provided gentle guidance throughout the session. It was a truly enjoyable and empowering experience—we’re already looking forward to coming back!

This place is amazing! Not only is it a great experience, but the staff is super awesome and accommodating. I once had something come up and needed to reschedule, and they were able to assist me in scheduling a different day. Would definitely recommend!

I attended the Air Flow class on 7/30/25 with Ang.
I attend this class regularly and appreciate the quiet space that is present in a flow class which allows me to focus on grounding my body and mind and getting the most from the class.
I noticed some negative attention from this specific class and wanted to note that I was present while Ang addressed multiple safety concerns and specifically helped multiple students achieve the identified poses. Ang started class and provided clear directions prior to the class starting as well as multiple times during class that cell phones and recordings were not permitted, as well as requesting that nobody talk during class. I have attended multiple other classes at this studio and heard the same directions provided from multiple other instructors. Further, when Ang was asked to take the requested group photo, she worked with the party to incorporate the fabrics and ensure everyone was in the photo, as requested.
As far as the cleanliness of the studio - I have always found the studio to be clean and, in fact, have personally witnessed others cleaning the studio after class. To my knowledge, based on interactions with multiple instructors, it is not the responsibility of the instructor to clean/sanitize the studio after class and that is handled by others.
While I am bummed this person felt their experience for their sibling was not what was expected, perhaps a private party would be a better setting in the future.
As for Ang's flow? I love it and will keep coming back. I enjoy the quiet atmosphere and the privacy and safety that is created when I am allowed to engage in exercise without the presence of a camera or phone interrupting the experience.

We had the best time at AIR Aerial Fitness South Loop! The Latina Sweat team took a class led by Ruby, the owner — a first-generation Mexican American from our very own community — and to say we were inspired is an understatement.
We were all complete beginners, and Ruby made us feel safe, supported, and capable every step of the way. Her energy is unmatched. She’s not only an incredible instructor but also a trailblazer creating space for us to move, fly, and feel strong in every sense of the word. From the moment we walked in, the studio felt welcoming and empowering. Ruby broke everything down in a way that made even the most intimidating moves feel doable. By the end, we were hanging upside down, laughing, and celebrating what our bodies could do.
We left feeling proud, powerful, and deeply grateful to support a Latina-owned studio. Highly recommend. 10/10. We’ll definitely be back!

This is in response to Tierra C, as I cannot reply directly. I'm the instructor from the 6:30 pm Candlelight Flow. The studio capacity is 18, there were 16 students in class, and your group included 8 them. I emphasize that bc the class was a public class, not a private event, and the expectation is that every student present has the same ability to safely enjoy and participate in it.
Our no-phones policy is clearly communicated, via email and in the studio itself, and the reason is ensuring that safety is prioritized first and foremost and ensuring that all students feel comfortable participating w/o fear of inevitably ending up in the back of someone else's video, which can then be posted or shared without their knowledge or consent. If you recall, I clearly announced the opportunity to take photos or film after class ended and offered to take photos. One of the members of your group asked for a group photo while I talked to another student, at which point I excused myself and walked over to the middle of the studio, suggesting where you could all pose and asking for someone's phone. I then repeated myself twice more before one of you handed me a phone.
I find your assessment of me "looking at [you] dumb" immature and insulting, as you acknowledged that I was teaching another class while you waited, and there was a red sign on the door that informed everyone of that. While I have no control over how early students arrive to an upcoming class, and can't control your "waiting outside for over 10 minutes," I unlocked the door and flipped the sign at 6:20, at which point various students started coming in and out of the studio. We are a small space w/o the ability to accommodate waiting students - just as I would not unlock the door and allow newcomers to disrupt your experience prior to class ending, I did not do that to the 5:30 class.
I asked your group to quiet down various times, both as a courtesy to other students, and because several of the students, including from your group, were in the studio for the first time. I began demonstrations by stating "watch me first" and clearly explaining the proper hammock placement as well as safety and body cues - as is my job and responsibility. Aerial fitness/yoga can not only be challenging but also extremely dangerous. Allowing your group to continue chatting would have been rude to the other participants and incredibly unsafe, especially as at least a few of the members of your group seemed distracted talking to each other, and at least one was busy setting up their phone to film and missed crucial parts of my safety demonstration for that pose. I'm unsure why you took such great offense at my reminders to stop talking while I was actively teaching a public class of 16 adult students, but please know that there are legitimate reasons for that, and the same rules are enforced for all other classes. That said, we offer private classes where the focus is entirely on your group, and chatting or laughing is absolutely permitted, as everyone present actively consents to that particular environment. Last night's Candlelight Flow class was simply never meant to mimic that, nor was your group given any more or less consideration than any other students present. I walked around and provided frequent individualized assistance, mostly to members of your group, so stating that I "did not give a damn" because you were not white was completely baseless, especially given that all but three of the students were students of color.
I "kicked everyone out" and locked the door at 7:43, after class ended at 7:20 pm. Again, you are always welcome to book the studio for additional time. I was not responsible for sanitizing the studio, as we have very specific agreements and expectations in place for that.
Overall, while I'm disappointed to hear you didn't enjoy your experience, your depiction of events is not accurate, and it sounds as though a private class would've suited your needs much better than a public one. There was simply no way for me to meet those expectations last night.

First off let me say I’ve attended this class before with another instructor and she was awesome but this time you guys have failed me. The fact I recommend my sister to come here for her birthday it was embarrassing. The instructor Ang needs to find another job. One she’s rude and ignorant. If you’re not white she doesn’t give a damn about you honestly. She had the 6:30 class waiting outside for over 10 mins without saying anything about another class is currently still in place she just looking at us dumb as we stand outside. then once our class started she rushed us. Didn’t help anyone all she kept saying the whole time was to stop talking. For my understanding when I participated in the class a few months ago with a different instructor she had no problems with us talking or using our phones. Then we asked for a picture she was rude with her response. She kicked everyone out and didn’t even sanitize the place she just left. So I hope higher management reads this and let Ang know she needs to find another JOB. She obviously doesn’t have the patience or time. So that being said 0 out of 10 I don’t recommend.

Air Fit Studio has truly been a blessing! I started back in August of last year and instantly fell in love with the space, the people, and the energy. The studio has a welcoming, open feel, and the community is so supportive—from the instructors to the fellow students.
The teachers are knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely want to help you grow. I had to take a break due to personal matters, but when I came back, I was welcomed with open arms. That kind of environment is rare and means everything.
The class schedule is flexible, which makes it easy to stay consistent even with a busy life. Whether you’re new or experienced, Air Fit is a great place to move, connect, and feel at home.

Hi I was calling in to do an inquiry and I'm very disappointed that you guys don't even offer a free class because I am 44 years old and I don't know if I'm able to do it I don't want to spend any money if I'm not able to do it. If Mayweather boxing ring can offer a free session why can't you guys? this is what I despise in Chicago being from New Orleans at every gym every place in Chicago is money hungry. I am no longer interested

I recently organized a private Aerial Yoga class at AIR® Aerial Fitness - South Loop for the Black Girl Closings Community in celebration of Women’s Day, and the experience exceeded all expectations.
Our instructor, Karina, was instrumental in making the session both enjoyable and enriching. Her clear guidance, patience, and ability to adapt to various skill levels ensured everyone felt comfortable and engaged. Karina’s passion for aerial fitness truly shone through, making our event both memorable and empowering.
The studio itself is inviting, with an ambiance that immediately sets a tone of relaxation and focus. The staff ensured everyone, regardless of fitness level, felt comfortable and engaged. Our session was tailored to our group’s needs, allowing us to unwind, recharge, and strengthen our bonds. The added touch of light refreshments and a surprise element made the event even more memorable.
I highly recommend AIR® Aerial Fitness - South Loop for anyone seeking a unique and uplifting fitness experience.

This was my first time trying an aerial class & I loved the class and the instructor was so welcoming. The class was more of an aerial workout but I’m looking forward to trying the more advanced classes they offer. You have to arrive early to find parking but other than that, I def recommend.

These classes are a perfect balance of fun and challenging! I’ve gone a couple of times, and although I’m still very much a beginner, I find myself learning and getting a little better each time. The instructors are also very helpful. Do not be afraid to ask for assistance or additional guidance. They are super patient, while also being super respectful and understanding of your comfort levels.

I was 4 mins late because it is Mother’s Day. Instructor Amy saw me and ignored me several times. Locked me out. It’s not like I’m 15 mins late. Sometimes life happens. We are not late on purpose. Not that good of a class anyway, so very easy for me to say BYE!

LOVED IT!!!! I actually took a class here in 2017 and it was okay. I randomly decided to go back in the summer of 2023 and I’ve been taking drop in classes since! LOVE THIS STUDIO AND CANT RECOMMEND ENOUGH!!! I’ve only taken their fundamentals classes but they’re so fun! It’s a killer workout and very beginner friendly. I like that they focus on the strength and conditioning you actually need for when you’re ready to move onto advanced classes. (I’m fine with beginner classes for now lol)
The instructor was really nice and energetic and really broke down the aerial moves sequence then showed us so everyone in the class could get up on the silks. We were able to stop or keep going with the moves we felt comfortable with. I’ve taken classes with most of the instructors and have had the same positive experience with each one. Ruby, Sarah and Rae are my favorite instructors! I’m a heavier girl so I get very self conscious about workouts involving me lift my body weight but I was able to do it and the instructor came around to help me when I got stuck. YALL I FELT SO EMPOWERED!
I like this way more than pilates. I’ve tried three Pilates studios and felt out of place and not welcome. I’m a woman of color and curvier build so I don’t always feel welcomed in a lot of fitness spaces. I think the reason I keep coming back to this location specifically is because of how inclusive and welcoming the environment is. Awesome community!
The only downside is parking but there’s usually a lot of street parking so no biggie.
Even though I only stick to fundamentals classes I always get a good workout and cute pictures.
I’m taking a themed class there this week so I’ll try and update my review with pictures after the class!

I enjoyed the actions of doing the aerial fitness class, but my experience was not good. I was 5-7 minutes late, as it was my first time to the building, raining, and I had to walk 2 blocks to get there. The instructor Amy was decent enough to allow me to enter the studio while the other members were stretching. The instructor asked if it was my first time, I told her yes. From there, the guided lesson was very fast paced and not beginner friendly. The website advertised the class to be open to all levels of fitness. The website should be changed, and classes should be divided by fitness level and experience. My friend and I should not have been in that class with that instructor for our first experience. Additionally, when I asked the instructor for assistance, she commented to “just do it like this” with no additional help. She was half way across the room and did not try to assist me in any way. I received a phone call from a friend who also paid for the experience and the instructor had me go to the restroom to take my call. I would be more understanding if I was causing a disturbance while on the phone, but this was not the case. The call was less than 60 seconds. When my friend did arrive, the instructor had the door locked and sent her away and told her to “reschedule”. The instructor helped others who were struggling during the class, however she did not assist me in any way. When the class was over, we were allowed to take a few more minutes to try the poses we learned and to take pictures. With it being my first time, it would have been common decency for the instructor to at the LEAST offer to take a picture. She stood behind the counter and put her coat on and waited for everyone to eventually leave the studio. I would not recommend booking a class with Amy if you are a beginner or need personal attention while trying something new. She’s okay if you are advanced in aerial fitness.

Wife went for an unlimited week for $25. It was her first time doing aerial fitness. Definitely more of a workout than she anticipated but she really enjoyed it! They have "flow" classes which are less strenuous and more yoga/stretching and another "fitness" class which is more intense. She went once a day and besides the bruises from the bands on her side (not the fault of the place, it just happens) there were almost no negatives. The only negative is that noticed when she attended the second half of a back to back sessions that the ropes were not sanitized before her class started. Not sure if they are clean daily but seems like something that should be at least sprayed/wiped after each use.
She loved the pose of the week and worked her way up to achieving it. Definitely she'll be back.
Another con is that outside of the unlimited class for a week ($25) or unlimited for a month ($100) the classes are outrageously expensive.

Even as a complete novice to aerial silks I was able to have a good time and learn a couple of cool inversions in the aerial yoga class. I will say that at times you put your whole weight on the silks which was uncomfortable at times on my back, so if you have back issues perhaps ask the instructors if this is a class that is safe for you. My instructor Jae was so friendly and as a complete beginner I definitely needed some help which she came over promptly to provide. For yoga specifically though, this studio wasn’t my favorite just because it lacks some of the calming ambience of other boutique studios. The studio has a glass wall and is open to distractions from the street and at least for the regular yoga (non-candlelit) the music was more calm pop than typical yoga music. I bet for fitness classes this set up is nice though!

Coming to AIR, I expected to experience more of the artistry of aerial sling. I expected to learn some poses, transitions, drops, etc while getting a good workout and that was not the case . Furthermore, the sling smelled of armpit musk which lets me know the slings are not being washed regularly. I also did not enjoy the amount of students in the class and how close everyone was to one another. I take sling classes regularly and my classes are no larger than five people and the slings are switched between classes and laundered.
I'm sure most people may enjoy the class, my expectations were not met.

I purchased an unlimited one week membership to try this location out in October. The company decided they were not going to offer classes to new members anymore late October so I was unable to use my package. I reached out to the location asking for a refund and the OWNER responded that all sales are final and I cannot be given a refund.
So unprofessional and bad character from this company. I had to file a claim with my CC to get the money back. Which is no big deal, $25, but you are that desperate for $25 you are forcing me to pay for a service I cannot use for the unforeseeable future? I wouldn't recommend this to anyone just based off of this experience. Shows the company only cares about $$.
