This wonderful gym got me started on a health and fitness journey I never thought was possible. Every trainer at AST was a great motivator and person, and I truly miss my time with them and the city of Chicago. You must give them a try.

NOT SAFE to exercise here. I was severely injured during a trial session. Zach, the owner, had me doing an advanced exercise and told me to keep going after I said I didn’t feel confident doing it. There wasn’t even ibuprofen or adequate ice on site. Zero follow up from Zach after debilitating injury. I couldn’t walk for 5 weeks and will never be the same, and was “lucky” it wasn’t worse. I was drawn to the rhetoric of personalization, attention, and care. What I experienced was disregard and negligence. I still have not received acknowledgement of the injury or an apology, only a recruitment email trying to get my business back. Avoid this gym unless you’re already a competitive exercise person prepared to be pushed beyond what is safe.

I’ve been working with Zack since the beginning of 2022 with the goal of building and improving my shoulders. As a professional athlete, I’m very selective about who I trust with my training, and Zack has been nothing short of exceptional. His knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to tailor programming to my individual needs have truly made a difference in my progress.
He’s not just a personal trainer who tells you what to do — he explains why it matters, and that’s what sets him apart. Every session is purposeful, challenging, and backed by real expertise. The gym itself has a great atmosphere — supportive, motivating, and well-equipped. Highly recommend Zack and the team to anyone serious about taking their training to the next level!

This place is simply THE best. It's a very well run family-owned operation and they're always super flexible and treat you like a human being whenever life happens. Having been a member over two separate stints, the coaches are ALL incredible people - Zach & Christine put a lot of effort into making sure the fit is right before bringing them on. The thing I love the most though is I'm pushed to my limits every single time I swipe my fob. It's never easy, but it's always worthwhile.

In late 2023, after some post-stressful job, post-COVID, post-breakup weight gain, I was very demotivated to go to the gym and often found excuse after excuse not to go. When I learned about All Strength Training (AST), almost every previous excuse I had created for myself was eliminated. Crowded gyms and waiting for equipment is not a thing here--each member has their own station and equipment and class sizes are limited to no more than 4 people. Before AST, I was always uncertain about which workouts to do and how many reps/sets, and how heavy to lift. The amazing coaches at AST take away all the guesswork by having the workouts tailored for each session (e.g., arms/shoulders, legs, back/shoulders, etc.), from the specific exercises, to the number of reps and sets. Not only that, the coaches closely monitor each member for proper form and log each member's progress (# of reps / weight lifted) for each session's exercises. As a side note, I've historically had back and shoulder mobility issues/discomfort. Thankfully, the coaches are very knowledgeable and can readily modify the workouts to accommodate various physical limitations. And the results speak for themself: in my first 3 months of joining the HULK series (lifting), I went from 187 lbs to 180 lbs, my skeletal muscle mass went from 88.2 lbs to 91.9 lbs, and my body fat % went from 18.2 to 13.2. As a member of AST, the only thing I have to do to stay active is schedule my workout online, show up, lift, sweat (and occasionally curse), and go home. I couldn't be more grateful to all the staff at this wonderful neighborhood gym in Buena Park!

I cannot recommend All Strength Training enough. Zach and the entire coaching team are incredibly helpful, friendly, and truly committed to helping you achieve results without ever compromising safety. They motivate you, but do not pressure you into doing more than you are comfortable with, and there is no sales pitch for doing more than you want.
The focused and personalized coaching here has been a game-changer for me. The trainers ensure every workout is effective and safe, which gave me so much confidence in my fitness journey. My experience with AST is that it has been a supportive and a results-driven fitness experience. I am super grateful to them for helping me find my way back to feeling fit and on track with my health goals.

If you live in Buena Park/Uptown or anywhere nearby, you should try AST. Their 30-minute workout programs are focused and effective. Trainers are expert and supportive. Parking and scheduling are easy. Members are very friendly. I enjoy coming here to work out and I don't miss the hassles or distractions from my former gym.

I’ve never been to the gym and don’t like the idea of formal exercising. The idea of strength training was intimidating, but know I need to do it for my health. I have lots of old dance injuries so I wanted someplace that could help me work with my body, not against it. I love this place. Everyone is so knowledgeable, I feel great after a work out, and they know how to modify my form or an exercise if I need to. I’ve gotten stronger, I sleep better, I eat better, and actually look forward to a workout now. Amazing place!

I’ve been an athlete my whole life but I fell off and didn’t know how to get back. Working out at AST was truly a catalyst to get myself back together and to a place where I felt confident not just in my outward transformation but in my ability to carry and apply what I learned outside of sessions together. Even with InBody reads and nutrition planning, I never felt embarrassed but was always met with encouragement on how to meet my goals. With small gyms there is a fear of the type of people you’re going to work out with because it can get cliquey when people have been there long but I never felt that way, I’ve grown to care about the people I worked out with and we’ve formed community outside of the AST. Each coach is intentional in making sure that you don’t just feel like just another number but they really get to know you even coaches I didn’t work out with much. My time at AST was really transformative and I’m forever appreciative of what it has done for me.

One of the best fitness experiences I have had. The trainers are knowledgeable and know when and how to push you, Malcom in particular is great.
The cost is reasonable in my opinion, and 30 minute sessions are perfect, as there is no time wasted and the intensity can be turned up. I got the most out of it. They are flexible as well, as if you miss sessions that they carry over, or have an online one for no extra costs.
The gym has very good cleanliness discipline, you have to wipe everything after use and it makes me feel good about being there, and they were very safe during the pandemic.
The trainers do a good job of keeping record of your progress, and they also have InBody machine so you can see it for yourself.
The only reason I am no longer here is because I moved to California, and the gym i joined here lacks all of these things, and also costs more. I wish I could be back here.

Been going here for several months and I love it. Knowledgeable, friendly trainers and a good commitment to safety in these strange times. I've now done both their in person trainings and their at-home zoom options, and both are excellent. All these months in and I feel like I'm making great progress.

I worked with all strength for 2 years as I prepared to compete for Miss Indiana USA and after my win Miss USA. Zach was able to prepare me for stage and life. I look forward to working with All Strength again for NPC. The great thing is you can also work for just daily life and maintaining a healthy lifestyle they offer it all. I have done both online and small group both are amazing!!

I have been going to gyms for many years, but my experience with AST is the best exercise experience of my life. The key for me is accountability. It isn't an open gym to show up whenever you feel like it. It is a gym where you schedule sessions ahead of time. By doing it this way, I am able to plan my week accordingly. You can make changes as needed, but the ability to schedule these sessions is great. The class sizes are small and the training is specific and tracked for each member. I highly recommend AST!

I’m at a point in my life where I can concentrate on taking care of myself. With the help of the team at AST I can do just that. They have a trial membership period that lets you ease into their program. Zach and Christine and the other trainers have done everything possible to make me feel comfortable yet still make my work out challenging. Their workouts also are adapted to the individual, not just to a generic customer. They also integrate body composition measurement and nutrition coaching on top of the workouts. It helps with keeping track of your progress towards your own fitness and health. The coaches are not intimidating or overwhelming. They go over the exercise before you attempt to do it. And if you can’t quite get it right, they modify it or suggest an alternative, all without making you feel like a loser. I'm 64 years old and working towards becoming the fittest (and most motivated to stay fit) in large part due to AST. Honestly, I look forward to my routine with them. I’ve never felt disappointed or like I’ve failed. This is the best gym for my needs.

For many years I have had a lot of trouble finding the right fit for a gym. I am not a fan of cardio, and really enjoy weightlifting, but was always scared to do it with out a trainer. And we all know personal trainers come at a hefty cost! One day I was searching local gyms and all strength came up. They have a great "try before you buy" process for introducing you to the gym. They know it is a commitment and want to make sure you are ready for it. From the first time I walked into the gym, I knew I found the place I have been looking for! Even with how crazy the world has gotten with Covid, Zach and Christine have done everything possible to make sure all their members were set up to keeping healthy. They have a member for life with me!

I love AST. The trainers are great and the workouts are always challenging. Their approach of incorporating body composition measurement and nutrition coaching on top of workouts really helps you measure your level of fitness and health - not just weight. And they're always adding new things to keep it interesting, like HIIT classes (not for the faint of heart) and yoga, plus periodic focused workshops on specific movements.

I've never worked out more consistently in my life. It's amazing how your mentality can shift when trainers care and are invested in your progress. AST provides a level of support that I haven't experienced anywhere else.

Highly recommended for anyone with injuries or currently going through rehab. I started coming a year and a half after a bad motorcycle accident and their extremely knowledgeable staff has helped modify my movements and exercises to strengthen and rebuild in a safe and controlled environment. This by far had been the best gym experience I’ve ever had, I’m in the best shape I’ve been in in years.

AST has transformed how I think about my fitness. I value the 30-minute workouts that challenge and push me to my limits while also recognizing any issues I may be having to ensure we prevent injury. Zach, Christine, Morgan and the AST team are all knowledgeable and approachable- they've set the tone for a high-quality gym with a great community culture. They value their members' input and actively work to bring in new opportunities based on feedback. From the nutrition counseling to challenges throughout the year and additional activities, it's definitely worth giving a try... you'll probably end up sticking around for years!

I love All Strength Training! I've been attending sessions since the spring. There are people from all ages, walks of life, genders, fitness levels, etc. - yet the trainers and fellow members are always welcoming and set the standard for a warm and judgement-free zone. The workouts are challenging and the nutrition advice/programs are helpful, setting you up for success. I definitely recommend joining!

I'm the fittest (and most motivated to stay fit) I've ever been thanks to AST. Most gym experiences I've had have been intimidating and overwhelming and vague in their instruction. Large groups of people just thrown together and expected to get things done with little to no correction, which just leaves a bad taste in the mouth. But at All Strength, the coaches will go over exercises to make sure you do it correctly and will make personalized adjustments based on your ability without any shaming. Because they're willing to recognize that every body is different in it's capability and they want to make your body work for you to attain your goals, whatever that may be. If you put the effort in, you'll come out of every workout feeling sore and amazing. And if you get nervous about working out in groups, the way they set up their semi-private group training is probably the best way to start getting over that social anxiety. Seriously, best strength training gym in Chicago, hands down.

This is unequivocally my favorite gym of all time! It is easily the most welcoming gym I've experienced. What I did not anticipate was the incredible power of having five strength coaches who know your goals, are invested in your progress, and are a wealth of fitness knowledge. In four months, my fitness has increased noticeably, I can lift progressively heavier weights and generally push myself harder throughout each session. The coaches also encouraged me to participate in an 8-week weight loss challenge, which I found very motivating, learned a huge amount of information on nutrition, and lead to successful results.
Highlights about AST: butt-kicking workouts (every time), answers to every fitness question, workouts tailored to your level and goals, awesome community, good follow-up and excellent results!!!
I highly recommend AST if you want a team that’s knowledgeable, interested, and motivating to help you work out your goals and make steady progress towards them.

I've been working out at All Strength Training for over 4 years. I can't imagine ever leaving. I am the healthiest, leanest, fittest I have been my entire life. I wish I had found AST 10 years earlier. There are so many things you should know about AST:
1) It is nothing like the gyms you are used to using. I hesitate to tell people I work out in a gym because it feels inaccurate. The space is small enough that you will know everyone within a month of joining. At the same time it has equipment that I have never seen before.
2) The workouts are short, difficult, and appropriate for each individual. I've tried it all before finding AST: P90X, CrossFit, workouts from magazines, trainers from big corporate gyms, working out with friends who were fit. None of it worked long term. I am constantly amazed that I am challenged just enough and making progress week by week. This happens because the team at AST cares enough to take the time to learn about each individual.
3) The trainers are experts. Every trainer (or "Coach") knows what they are doing. A coack never has more than 4 clients at a time and even after 4 years of going to AST, I get corrected on form every workout. They keep pushing, correcting, and encouraging you to get better.
4) Exercise is just a part of the program. Without a doubt the nutrition counseling and bi-weekly check-ins are the best part of AST. This is just included with membership. I know more about food, my own body, and how they interact together than I ever thought possible. As a bonus these bi-weekly check-ins serve as a type of therapy/counseling session for me. It's hard to stay on track over weeks and months. having someone to discuss these challenges helps greatly.
5) The other members. There is something about the people that work out at AST. There is no ego, everyone is supportive. We complain out the workouts together (No one on earth likes Bulgarian Split Squats). We also celebrate milestones together. There is nothing better than cheering someones first Glute Ham Raise or first Bodyweight pull up.
I could go on. Do yourself a favor, check this place out.
