I’ve been a member of this gym for a few months now and it has a lot going for it. The equipment is all well maintained and works well. The selection is varied and should meet the needs of most regular gym goers. The cleanliness of the facility is probably its biggest positive. The owner/operator clearly makes this a priority and it’s appreciated.
Some other reviews have disagreed with the policy regarding no street shoes, but this is worth the minor inconvenience of having to change your shoes when you come in. It contributes to the clean, orderly state of the gym, especially as we move into much more wintery weather. This requirement seemed pretty clear when I signed up, so it shouldn’t be a point of contention, imo.
I go at various times during the week and weekend and it’s never too crowded but always has a good vibe and everyone seems focused on fitness, which is the goal!
Not much to say in the negative. I suppose if I had to pick, the mats hanging up near the “booty builder” machine seem pretty worn out and should probably be replaced. There is one large ceiling fan at the front of the gym, but nothing at the back. Something in the weight area would be nice, but this is not critical.
As for the franchise itself, I felt the payment options were oddly restrictive. When I signed up, I was not allowed to pay with a check. I offered to pay for a year up front and I was denied. I even offered to pay over the advertised rate and was denied. Vague response as to why, but I’d imagine it’s related to the franchise agreement. Nevertheless, the price is fair, as long as you use your membership. 😉
This particular location has been operating for many years and the owner seems quite dedicated to its operation and success so I think the risk of it disappearing is low. Depending on which location you sign up for, that could be a risk. Not all Anytime Fitness franchises are this well run, but if you live close to this one, you should be pleased.
Lastly, while I don’t think this place is quite 5 star worthy, I’m giving it 5 stars anyway. Frankly to combat the unjustified 1, 2, and even 3 star reviews. If you’ve been to enough modern gyms, there is nothing 1 star about this place or the management. Then again, it’s difficult to reason with a handful of 1 star personalities with very skewed perspectives of the world.

I strongly disagree with many of the negative comments I’ve read. I’ve been going to this gym for a few months now and have had nothing but positive experiences. I’ve previously belonged to much higher-end clubs, so I came in with pretty low expectations — just looking for a simple, convenient place to work out. This place exceeded them across the board.
The staff is friendly and welcoming. Mike, the owner, is very high-energy, which might feel a little intense at first, but he’s genuinely a great guy who takes real pride in this facility — and it shows.
There is one unique policy: no street shoes in the workout areas. In return, you get an exceptionally clean, well-maintained gym with like-new carpet and equipment. I personally appreciate the policy. If that bothers you, this probably isn’t the gym for you.
Equipment is in great shape with plenty of variety — machines, free weights, all of it. Another big plus: it doesn’t get overcrowded. Equipment is usually available and people aren’t just sitting on machines scrolling on their phones.
The biggest hidden benefit is the personal training team. These guys are legit — highly experienced and easily comparable to what you’d find at top-tier clubs, which is rare at this price point. There is an added cost, but in my opinion, it’s absolutely worth it.
If you’re 40+, I highly recommend checking this place out — especially if you’re focused on strength, balance, and overall fitness.
Bottom line: if you want a clean, friendly, not-overcrowded gym with excellent equipment and some of the best personal training around, this is a great choice.

If I can give 0 stars I would, they call me and started raising my voice saying I’m not able to come back to that location I had a really disappointing experience at this gym. As an baseball pro athlete, I did not feel welcome at all, they told me about the shoe policy and I wasn’t aware of that nobody told me that before in different AF locations
. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was uncomfortable—several staff and members looked at me like I didn’t belong, and the overall energy felt hostile rather than supportive.
I came in hoping for a positive environment to work out, but instead I felt judged and singled out. Whether intentional or not, the way I was treated came across as discriminatory, and it made me extremely uncomfortable.
I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this gym location
to anyone looking for a respectful and inclusive place to train.

Anytime fitness is a great place to workout! The staff is friendly, machines are well-maintained, and there’s enough space even during peak hours. I can not emphasize enough how clean this place is. I have tried almost every big and small fitness centers in Naperville/Aurora area. But finally found the right place for me. Absolutely love working out here.

The owner is rude and a horrible sales person. He should not be in this position and it should be removed. He has no idea how to talk to people or to sell his facility. It’s very shameful that people who own the business are trying to hurt and take it down self. I can totally imagine partnering with them will be a nightmare and constantly arguing with this guy.

I came in to change and use the restroom before my run. (During the warm months I warm up and cool down indoors, and run outdoors on the trail 10min from this gym). I have never had any issues until I met a horrid man today. He stopped me because I hadn’t changed my shoes before walking towards the restrooms. I apologized and explained why, and he said “we’re not a restroom, though? right? so we can’t have you doing that.” And when I said fine I would leave, clearly unhappy, he yelled after me “don’t come back!”
I’ve been a loyal gym member for YEARS. This behavior was unacceptable and excessively rude to try and run me out of his gym. I will be calling this store repeatedly until I know this man has been disciplined and does not harass other women to “not come back” simply because I was upset I couldn’t change and warm up for my workout there. Disgusting customer service.
*** just went down the street to the other anytime fitness in the area, and the staff was very friendly and had no problem with me changing in the bathrooms and doing my Pilates and cardio warm up here. Spending about 25min and then I’ll be back after my run. Cause this is ANYTIME fitness. 😒✋🏼

I've been a member attending this location for several years now and have done personal training with Tina Farkas. I’ve been coming to this gym for about two years, and I can confidently say that Mike and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. This is by far the cleanest gym I’ve ever been to, with everything consistently stocked from sanitizing wipes to toilet paper, soap, and more. Both the staff and members uphold high standards, treating each other and the gym environment with respect. It’s not a playground; it’s a place to grow, improve, and take care of both the equipment (gym) and the community (us).

I was recently in the Naperville area for the first time for business and was happy that there was an AF close to my hotel. I was greeted at the door by Mike, who said he owned the gym and began rambling about their “shoe policy” and to bring a “fresh pair of shoes and change at the front next time.” I said ok and that I was from out of town so I didnt know when I’d be back, but I’ll keep it in mind if I do happen to return. He then said that he was on the “local social committee” and knows the best restaurants in the area and he’d be “happy to show around town” if I wanted to “grab a bite” . told him my wife was in town with me and we had plans but thanks anyway. Also, I am originally from Naperville so am familiar with the area . He seemed extremely annoyed and said “no worries- maybe next time”, rolling his eyes .
It was extremely awkward but … not a huge deal . However, a half-hour into my workout, I was sitting on a bench and I feel someone grab my shoulder and firmly squeeze it . It was him . He smirks and whispers in my ear “don’t worry - no hard feelings. I won’t hold a grudge ” and walks away angrily. It was one of the strangest interactions I’ve ever experienced.
After reading some of the other reviews , it’s evident he’s got issues. It’s amazing he continues to get away with this type of behavior. Needless to say, I’ll be finding another AF in the area next time I’m in Naperville

I really enjoy this gym! It’s always super clean, well-organized, and never overcrowded. The owner, Mike, is very nice and welcoming, and all the staff are friendly. I’m working with one of the personal trainers, Tina, and she’s truly amazing—she’s been doing a great job with my fitness. After using multiple Anytime Fitness locations in other states, I recommend this location over others in the area.

They have predatory practices when trying to cancel. I moved from the area so dropped off my fob at the office when nobody was there. They called me to let me know they found my fob and that's when I let them know I needed to cancel. They asked me why, I told them I moved. They said they couldn't cancel over the phone. That I needed to write a letter and mail it to them letting them know I wanted to cancel. I did that and then got a text that they were processing my cancellation but that it would take a month so I would still get charged 2 more times before they actually cancelled my membership. STAY AWAY

Pretty weird vibe over here.
As soon as you enter it definitely feels like your being watched by the manager. Definitely not a laid back gym that people go to work out and mind their own business

Mike... I asked you to ask one of your trainers to keep away from me. It made me very uncomfortable. If that's unprofessional then so be it. It is also unprofessional for you to keep taking money from my account after you kicked me out. I have read numerous posts from complete strangers that say what I just said. I'm not trying to hurt your business, you're doing a fine job on your own.

Gym was relatively clean, decent equipment and not packed, however I got locked out one time and for some reason I couldn’t get access to the club WHILST I was paying for my membership. So I called the club and the employee said the owner was on vacation , and they themselves didn’t know how to resolve my issue , so to try resolving it at the club where I activated my membership, I went to that club which was 45 minutes away in Schaumburg, and they said everything was fine on their end , and that only THIS club had my membership locked. So I call again , and once again the gym tells me that they don’t know what’s going on . Not helpful at all in solving my issue, and made me go back and forth , so I cancelled my membership.

Avoid this place at all costs.
I've sent letters trying to cancel, and they refuse to stop charging me. This has been years in the making.
When I used to go to this gym, it was dirty and the staff wouldn't stop hitting on women. It was gross.
Apparently they're still disgusting.
Sign up elsewhere. I recommend the Fitness Center through Edwards Medical Group. Or the gym by Costco.

To answer your concerns:
First, I did return your call on the same day,
two hours later. You were unavailable, and one of your staff members took down my information and said I’d receive a follow-up. That never happened. Instead of placing the blame on me, I suggest you confirm this with your staff.
Last night, I had no intention of interacting with your staff. I simply tried to access the facility, as Anytime Fitness allows 24/7 access across locations. The door didn’t open, and one of your trainers came to check what was wrong. I witnessed him speaking to you on the phone, yet moments later he claimed you weren’t responding. Only after I posted my review did you choose to return my call.
During our phone conversation, I identified myself as “Ali,” and when you said “Zulfiqar,” I confirmed that too. You immediately hung up after telling me to get my information corrected at my home branch. There was no attempt on your end to understand or resolve the situation.
Let’s also not forget the original mistake made under the name “Brooke,” which led to my key being blocked. Instead of accepting responsibility, you’re shifting blame. I even texted asking for video proof regarding the “shoe incident” you referenced, but received no reply.
Again, Anytime Fitness policy allows 24/7 access to all members, regardless of location. I’ve always followed the rules and conducted myself respectfully. I don’t need a lecture on professionalism, I expect it in return.
Frankly, visiting your branch was a mistake. It seems members are only treated with respect if they belong specifically to your location.
I do not recommend this Anytime Fitness branch.
My name is Zulfiqar Ali, known by many as Ali. I’ve been a loyal member of Anytime Fitness for over 3 years, regularly visiting various locations without any issues. However, my experience at this particular branch was deeply disappointing.
Michael Stark blocked my key fob access without valid reason. Apparently, the call I missed was about someone named Brooke. I couldn’t answer the call at the time, but I returned it within a couple of hours and spoke to one of his team members. Despite that, no one ever followed up with me.
Tonight at 8 PM, Michael wasn’t present, and one of the trainers left me standing outside for 15 minutes. I wasn’t even allowed to stand inside the doorway. It was embarrassing and humiliating, as people walked in and out, looking at me as if I had done something wrong. I’ve never faced this kind of treatment at any Anytime Fitness location before.
This situation was handled unprofessionally and left me feeling disrespected and heartbroken.
Below is the exact message I received:
Hey, so Brooke, this is Michael Stark owner anytime fitness of Naperville Just noticed that Facility Can you do not change your shoes in the lobby? Not sure why we give many Posted Has left a So again you've been in here. Looks like about eight times for some reason we're just not on the policies of the club. If you want to get treated like a third class citizen, then yes, sign up for this place, otherwise steer clear of it! I've never been treated so rudely in my entire life by a business! I travel all over the country for work and was sitting outside waiting to go in and work out but I was waiting on an important phone call and I did not want to miss it. I walked in to use the bathroom and the guy said that was not allowed and i've been a member for 8 years and probably used four hundred anytime fitnesses all over the country! Another reason not to use this place is they have large industrial squeeges in the showers because they're shower pans, are angled outward and water gets all over the floor and if you don't act like a janitor and mop up every single drop of water on the floor they send you a nasty email. They did that to me five years ago! The manager is a spineless little weasel!

If I could give negative stars I would. First off I came into this location while out for work on a tight schedule. As I frequent different anytime locations as a member for over 6 years. (About 10 gyms total) I have NEVER In my life been treated so rude in my life.
I was skeptical over the horrible reviews, yet the other Naperville location was a bit too far for my time frame.
I came in gym smelled clean. Yet not much equipment like most other locations and 3 trainers having sessions.
I began my workout and remembered I needed to charge my phone before heading back out to work. Yet the outlets weren’t working to charge my phone.
I hesitantly walked up to the nearest trainer to me, paused and once he wasn’t talking his client I said very politely “excuse me” he * making no eye contact* put his hand into my face (like the 90-2000s talk to the hand motion) and said I need to wait HES in the middle of a set ( as he watched the ‘client’ preform a deadlift)
He then says what do you need
* I ask about outlets *
He cuts my off and says how rude I am for interrupting his session. I’m sitting here shocked as I ask a simple, non triggering 30 second question . Yet was treated with so much disrespect. The ‘client’ who I find out later is the owner, jumps in and screams in my face how rude I am interrupting his session- with other choice words. Also screaming if I don’t like the gym I can leave…
Me shocked … walks back to my area baffled, decide I can not stay in such a horrible environment.
I decide to come back in to speak to someone in charge. Cuz that’s unacceptable. He tells me he’s the manager and the client is the owner and then tells me he’s paying him 100$ and hour to train him and I’m bothering them. I stated I asked a simple question after waiting. That couldnve been a simple respectable response turned into the owner threatening me, stepping into my face as well and belittling and screaming like a toddler at me with his bulging blue eyes. The manager just as bad belittled me .. asking me if I have a job repeating it like I owe him an answer. The owner screaming they don’t need to talk to me bc it’s not “staffed hours” as he stomps his feet wailing his arms at the door. Manager asking me if I would go up the other trainers - I respond yet but you were the closest to me and have anytime branded clothes -I had an issue so I didn’t see a problem asking a 10 second question. From a worker / and even worse AN OWNER. If it were me I would’ve let me employee assist a member of the gym without an issue and continue. The manager continues to belittle me stating I’ve wasted 7 minutes of the owners time so I “owe him about 10$” (math isn’t mathing for a hour session btw) and also the first convo was 30 seconds tops and the video I recorded the second time was 2 min and 38 seconds. He then asked me why I was shaking n he “isn’t going to do anything to me “ lol the whole time the owner is SCREAMING like a 4 year old that didn’t get his cookie high pitched voice “get out” over and over and over. I stated something was SERIOUSLY WRONG with him and he needs professional help. God forbid you need to speak to someone here. Absolutely insane. I contacted corporate and sent over the videos which they were very pleased to get as they are aware of this owners behavior… it’s nothing new. As they told me - the other Naperville gym is amazing and recommended I go there. Which I did and it was just the other 10+ locations I have been. Seek help you miserable man. And if you value yourself go to other Naperville location. If I could add video proof I would

I can't recommend this fitness club enough! Mike, the owner, does an incredible job keeping the place in top shape—it's so clean that you could literally lay on the floor without a second thought. He takes great pride in maintaining a spotless environment, and it truly shows.
Some people complain about the shoe policy since he requires everyone to change their shoes at the entrance, but honestly, that’s what keeps the place so spotless. Once you realize how much it contributes to the cleanliness and overall experience, it makes complete sense. If a clean, well-maintained gym isn’t a priority for you, then this might not be your place—but for those who appreciate an outstanding workout environment, this club is perfect.
Beyond the cleanliness, what really sets this gym apart is Mike himself. He genuinely cares about every member and goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service. Whether it’s maintaining the equipment, keeping the space in top shape, or just making sure members feel welcome, he’s always on top of it.
Another huge plus is that this gym is very private and never too busy. You don’t have to deal with overcrowding or waiting around for equipment, making it the perfect place to focus on your workout. It’s truly a hidden gem for anyone looking for a clean, well-maintained, and peaceful gym experience. I highly recommend it!

The gym is small but at least is clean and organized. A 1-star review is towards the owner. I had to stop going there because of health issues. I still paid for 2 months without going then I had to cancel my membership, due to health, I couldn’t go for an undetermined time. I sent an email to cancel my membership, and they still require 30 days' notice even if you have to cancel due to emergency health reasons. The worst part is that you have to request a cancellation by mail ( very inconvenient). Also, I had my monthly membership for $27.97, but after I gave the cancellation notice, they changed me to the highest membership rate of $31.97 for the last 30 days notice. Very unprofessional, and my conclusion is that he is just looking for his money and doesn’t care about anything—terrible management.

I am so thankful I found Anytime Fitness!!!
I’ve kept a tight watch on my caloric intake and exercise habits for decades… and it worked! until recently…. Aging caused metabolic shifts and physical limitations…. My workouts and eating habits were no longer helping me stay fit. I was gaining weight and suffering from a variety of physical issues. With the help of their on site physical therapist Dr Joe, a new workout approach ( lots of strength training) created by Josh and the help of Danny tweaking my nutritional intake, I was able to lose almost 30 lbs and increase my mobility and strength,
all while working out less intensely.
As owner, Mike makes sure every inch of the gym is clean and in perfect working order and makes everyone feel like family. 🤗

I recently had the opportunity to tour this gym, and I wanted to share some feedback about my experience. First, I'd like to acknowledge that the gym was very clean, well-organized, and clearly well maintained, which I truly appreciated.
However, I felt somewhat uncomfortable during the tour due to the behavior of the manager. While I understand enthusiasm about creating a welcoming environment, I found the interaction to be overly "touchy" and unprofessional, particularly with comments and behavior that seems to be focused on "his butt" and cameras in the bathrooms and shower. Also, for the fact he kept hitting my chest. This made the experience feel awkward and left me with the impression that the vibe of the gym might not align with what I'm looking for in a fitness space.
Thank you for the opportunity to visit, and I hope this feedback is helpful as you continue to enhance the experience for future guests.

Very Disappointed at my experience and or lack of experience. I had heard so many amazing things about this gym specifically this location. I filled out online the free pass, now it does say that it’s only certain locations. So when I filled out the form I was happy to see this location was on an option. I waited a day or two for a call or email and never got one. I decided to go to the location as early as I could since I have a strict work schedule. When I arrived not one employee was to be found. I called and I was told I would get a call back very soon and to wait in my car. I don’t live the closest so I waited about 30 minutes and decided to leave. Once I did get a respond about 45 minutes- 1 hour later I was told they don’t do the free passes. So I not only wasted my time but I also wasted my gas as like I said I don’t live the closest.

My experience at the Naperville Anytime Fitness has been fantastic! The facility is exceptionally clean, the machines and equipment are always in great working condition, and the staff, especially the manager, are incredibly welcoming.
As a member of a Chicago location, the contrast between the two gyms is striking. The cleanliness and attention to detail at the Naperville location are truly eye-opening. I really appreciate that indoor shoes are required here—it makes a significant difference in maintaining the cleanliness of the gym.
Safety is clearly a top priority at this location, and it shows. The manager goes above and beyond to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager, Mike, today, and he was so personable and kind.
I always look forward to visiting Naperville and working out at this amazing gym!

No GRACE found at this gym! I've been a member of AF for several years and have visited/worked out at different sites and it has always been a great experience.
My friend & I stopped at the Naperville branch one evening to check it out as she is a member as well. Very clean & very nice. I then ran to use the ladies room & then we left. The following day I recieved a phone call form Mike the AF Naperville branch owner questioning who I brought into the building & why we were there. I understand why you might question that but it was Mike's approach. Very curt & rude telling me we are now banned from the facility & that we would need to pay a fine. He stated that the restrooms are for members only to use before or after a workout. I did inform him that my friend & I are both members so he dropped the fine, but we are not allowed back at his gym! We were not on any of the equipment or running around. We literally came in, looked around, went to the washroom & left. And now we are banned?! Wow! No grace no kindness no understanding. Is this the kind of guy that you want representing AFs brand?? After reading other reviews, how does he stay in business?? I'm all about running a tight ship, but you need to add in some grace, kindness and understanding.
No thank you Naperville.
**Response to Owner's response - as previously mentioned, my friend & I are both members of AF & happened to drive by your Naperville gym & wanted to check it out. And without gathering proper info, you've decided to ban us from your facility as though we've committed a crime or we are troublemakers. We are professionals who simply wanted to check out your gym. But we will pass & we will encourage others to pass as well.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Mike, who is the owner of this location, was very condescending and rude when I questioned him as to how come he couldn’t look me up as a member because I forgot my key fob. I live 45 mins away, I work at the hospital here in Naperville. I had a long day of procedures and have been on my feet the last 13 hours. The LAST thing I needed was for him to belittle me and say things such as “let’s be honest, you’re the one who left your fob at home” and “take that up with the other gym” or “this is why this is a members only access gym” when politely questioning why it was an ordeal to look me up. I would assume I’m not the only person who has forgotten their little black fob at home. This is not how you treat your clients, I’m sure he wouldn’t appreciate me being condescending and rude to him while he’s on my procedure table. Treat others how you want to be treated.
Ps- it’s no wonder there are other people who are displeased with how Mike conducts himself. See reviews.
* update to response from owner *
As I’ve come to realize from another Anytime Fitness, it actually is possible for you to look me up and allow me access to the gym for a forgotten or lost key fob. Wow. So you’re not only rude, condescending, and clearly unfit for customer service, you are also a liar. Or you really don’t know your own policy. Either way, you mismanage your gym with your awful attitude, and it’s no wonder this gym is so poorly rated. I’ve had nothing but wonderful customer service from all anytime fitness centers nationwide as well as Canada. Mike’s gym is poorly rated for consistent reasons with mine. Steer clear.

If you’re looking for a gym that isn’t busy this place is for you. Is it because the gym is brand new or in a small market? No!
It’s because the owner Mike doesn’t know how to run a business. $45 a month and I’m getting calls and e-mails because he watched the cctv video and saw me not change out my shoes. They think shoes are dirty and require you to change from “street shoes” to “gym shoes” because there was one person one time that wore dirty shoes and made a mess. Stupid policy that pushes customers away.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the conduct of the owner, Mike Starek, at the Anytime Fitness location we have been frequenting. My girlfriend and I have been members for a considerable time and, regrettably, chose this particular branch.
Recently, upon our arrival at the gym, I used my phone to scan my access card, as we do not possess keychain fobs. Unfortunately, my girlfriend was unable to scan her card due to her phone being dead. This situation drew the attention of Mr. Starek, who then contacted me to inform me that I would incur a $250 charge for bringing in an unauthorized guest.
I attempted to clarify that this was an honest oversight due to her phone's battery issue and assured him that she is a registered member, offering to verify her membership status in the system. Mr. Starek's response was dismissive; he stated it was not his responsibility to verify memberships when cards are not scanned. His behavior escalated to unprofessionalism as he resorted to swearing, calling me derogatory names, and expressing prejudiced views about “my type of people,” which I suspect might be a recurring tactic to extract additional charges from members. He also falsely claimed that other gym-goers had complained about the situation, only to later admit that this was not true.
This conduct is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the management of this location. As a member of Anytime Fitness, I expect to be treated with respect and professionalism. Mr. Starek's actions not only undermine the values of the organization but also create a hostile environment for members.
I strongly recommend that Anytime Fitness take appropriate measures to address this matter and consider re-evaluating the management of this location. For those seeking a more positive experience, I suggest visiting the Bolingbrook location, which offers a more welcoming and well-maintained environment.

Snowflake ❄️ zone. Stay away. I was about 5 minutes away from completing my training session. One of this Anytime’s trainers came up to me and said “i suggest you invest in some headphones”.
I was like what ?
Arrogant investment advice from a trainer with no muscle on him?
It’s a bit a joke, if your a trainer get in shape, walk the walk don’t just talk the talk.
Apparently my wife called me and i had her on the speakerphone and it was too loud for this dude.
So he had to come over and tell me to invest in some headphones or he was going to have me leave the gym.

First time being here and to be honest the manager left a sour taste in my mouth. I got a call from my boss as I was changing weights on the smith machine, 15 seconds into my call the manager was vacuuming near me, interrupts my call, goes on and on about taking up a rack etc. I end my call in less than a minute. I get that you are doing your job.
Yet, you didn’t wait until I got off the phone, you didnt introduce yourself, you judge me in front of other people, and act like I’m wasting your space. Coming from the customer service field, it felt rude.
I believe this place a potential, I just feel like the manager could have been more respectful in approaching me especially if you have never seen me before.
Its been awhile since I worked out, so I wasn’t going let him ruin my workout. Thanks to him, I lifted heavier today.

Have had nothing but good experiences at other Anytime Fitness locations (Shout out to Lockport!)... but cant see me returning to this location Very off putting experience by the Owner/director (not sure)... I was immediately hassled upon entry as if I'm not a member and scolded about my shoes (on a dry sunny day). SHOES at a GYM! Felt very unnecessary and extra. The convenience of Anytime is being able to hit up any location without hassle but that certainly wasn't the case. This gentlemen may do well to dial it back a bit if this location is in the business of making their members feel welcome.

UNPROFESSIONAL HARASSMENT.
On 01/15/2024 I made the worst decision so far in 2024. I came to the Anytime Fitness. 1271 Rickert Drive in Naperville Illinois.
I own a trucking company. I have three trucks that I own. Three drivers that I manage. The reason why I included my professional career in this review is because it’s relevant. When hiring my drivers I ask them if they want to be in good shape. Stay healthy while out there on the road. So I offer to pay half the membership fee to Anytime Fitness. All of them agree. So Anytime Fitness offers nationwide access to their facilities. Usually great locations. I personally have been to so many locations in the United States that I can’t remember. My drivers also visit national locations. So on the day that I visited the worst Anytime Fitness in America. 1271 Rickert Drive Naperville Illinois. It was around 3am when I entered the location. I worked out and showered. At approximately 7am or 8am someone entered the location and said good morning. Are you waiting for a massage? Because I was sitting in one of the chairs by the door. I responded, good morning. No I’m not waiting for a massage. It’s minus 10 degrees outside and I’m waiting for my truck to warm up. He responded. OK good luck. My first thought was that was weird. So I waited a few minutes and left. At around 11am I got a call from someone who identified himself as a Anytime Fitness employee in Naperville Illinois. I said yes this is Mark Johnson. What’s the problem? He responded with the question, what was going on this morning? I said what are you talking about? He said why were you in the gym for 5 hours? I couldn’t believe it! This guy is calling me and asking me a question that he already has the answer to. He can and did review the video of exactly what I was doing in the gym. And if didn’t review the video, that still doesn’t explain why he felt the need to call me and ask a ridiculous question. So when I asked him what was wrong with being in the gym for 5 hours? Most of the time I was working out. Maybe 1 hour in the shower. Once again, this is all on video. So he told me he was calling to find out what was going on for 5 hours. Nonsense. This is probably the same guy in all the other reviews who keeps harassing people. I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone. Hopefully they can get some new management. The other location in Naperville is all good!

My usual anytime fitness was in the city but I recently moved to the suburbs. I was told I could go to any location with my membership - so I went to this one.
I walk in the door and I’m told I can’t workout because I didn’t have an extra pair of shoes? That was never an issue at my last location.
The guy who didn’t let me in said it would take 45 minutes to clean up after me if I used the elliptical and weirdly offered to clean my shoes (that weren’t dirty) for me before I walked out the door.
Yikes
Update to Owners Response - It seems like this is a reoccurring issue at your gym. You didn’t even inspect the bottom of my shoes before turning me away. Don’t worry, the location down the road didn’t seem to mind and I had a great workout there. If you’re looking for an anytime fitness location in Naperville I’d recommend the one on route 59 instead - friendly staff and great machines!

This gym is absolutely perfect! It has everything you could possibly need and look for in a gym. I have worked out at so many different Anytime Fitness locations and this is by far the best one. I wish I lived closer so this could be my full time gym but for now it is a greatly appreciated safe haven when I'm visiting family in the area. I typically keep to myself when working out but every interaction with staff has always been a delight. You can tell that they really care about the gym and their members. All of the equipment is kept in pristine condition and the owner keeps the place immaculately spotless.(Picture the cleanest gym in your mind right now...-its at least 10 times cleaner than that)! I really don't know how he does it the place looks like its just had its grand opening every time I visit and it has been that way for years and years! If I could rate this place negative stars I would. The management is absolutely out of line and off base. I pay for a current membership at another anytime fitness location, I went this is location recently with a friend of mine (who also has a membership) to try it out as it is closer to my house. The manger decided to call a day later and verbally attack my friend about “bringing in a nonmember” .. my friend informed the owner that this friend who he thought didn’t have a membership did currently have an active membership. This manager proceeded to yell over my friend on the phone , threatening him not the bring in nonmembers when that wasn’t even the case and then continued to hang up. We then tried to go the the gym again and we were denied access for no reason other than the manager just deciding not to allow it. We are both paying members and have been paying members for over 1year and have never been treated like this at any other gym. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go to this gym or deal with this management staff as you will be disrespected. The gym is old and outdated as well and fairly small anyways but the real deter from the place is the manager and management ! NO customer should EVER have to be talked to like this or treated this way. Very disheartening.

Unnecessary Harassment and Overbearing Rules from Fitness Manager
I recently had an extremely unpleasant experience at the fitness center due to the overbearing behavior of the fitness manager. It seems like this guy has taken it upon himself to become the shoe police, and it's beyond ridiculous.
Firstly, I have to question the sanity of a manager who feels the need to harass members about their choice of shoes, especially when there's no snow on the ground. I mean, really? Is this some sort of bizarre power trip to compensate for a lack of authority in other areas of life?
My breaking point came when I visited the gym at 1:30 AM, thinking I could have a peaceful workout without any interference. Little did I know that the fitness manager would channel his inner Sherlock Holmes and review the security footage to catch me not changing my shoes. Yes, you read that right – he actually went back on the cameras to see if I changed my shoes at 1:30 AM. Is this guy serious?
I received a call the next morning from this shoe-obsessed manager, informing me that I had been locked out because I didn't adhere to his apparently sacred shoe-changing ritual. It's mind-boggling that someone would go to such lengths over a pair of shoes in the middle of the night.
To the fitness manager: Seriously, dude, get a grip. Is this how you demand respect at home? By enforcing arbitrary rules about gym footwear? The gym is supposed to be a place to unwind, not a dictatorship with an absurd list of rules that members are expected to follow like mindless drones.
When you sign up for a membership here, be prepared to pay not just for access to workout equipment but also for a comprehensive list of the most ludicrous rules you could ever imagine. It's a gym, for crying out loud – a place to break a sweat and relieve stress, not a military boot camp.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a gym where you can actually enjoy your workout without being harassed about your shoes and subjected to absurd rules, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. This fitness manager needs a reality check and a lesson in customer service.

I previously began my Anytime fitness membership at another nearby location, before trying out this one on Rickert. Off the bat, literally as I was reinstating my membership with Mike, he made me feel so comfortable here! I tend to have gym anxiety, can’t stand crowds, and can’t stand rowdy members or employees for that matter, as I experienced at the other location then never returned. They have zero tolerance for rowdiness, strongly prioritize hygiene and cleanliness here, professionalism, and besides late afternoon/early evening, there are typically only a few members here at one time - heavenly for me. Again, I have visited a couple other Anytime fitness locations, as well as a variety of other gyms, and I have never felt more comfortable exercising as I do at this location on Rickert, and with Mike and his team. It’s not the largest footprint or with a giant turf area like some others have but it’s peaceful enough I don’t mind being within some proximity of someone else here. Management and cleanliness-wise, I wish everyone could experience a gym like this! Any negative reviews I see here I truly believe to be in error of the individual, not the team here. They are all so professional and reasonable in my experience.

Avoid this place at all cost! The owner (as he introduced himself) is the rudest person I’ve ever seen. I am a member of anytime fitness and 24 hour fitness for a very long time and up to this time I’ve never seen such bad attitude from staff. I attend the gyms max 10-15 times a year I guess. Today I really wanted to go to the restroom. As a member, I entered the gym by using my key fob, the owner approached me and asked me whether I wanna work out(I didn’t have my bag). I explained him that I am just for a second to use the restroom. I was refused to move forward, he started screaming and wanted to call the police. I couldn’t be happier with this gym. Anytime Fitness Naperville has the perfect balance of boutique vs big box gym. They’re not too big, not too small. After a 10 year hiatus, I’m now 4 months into my gym routine and am constantly feeling the motivation from the entire staff (ever though I’m not paying for personal training - yet!) Mike is an amazing owner and motivator and has created a wonderful space for motivation and positivity. The clientele are diverse with a great mix of young and old, gender, and athletic type. You will not see the typical mega-lifter there like you would at a big box gym, so you never have to worry about someone grunting or yelling beside you, or slamming weights down, etc. it’s never overly busy, with usually only 2-5 other people inside at the same time. I never thought I’d be able to work the gym back into my routine, but this gym is the reason I have. Plain and simple. You should definitely sign up if you’re considering it.

When I walked in there was no employee to be found. I waited for 6 minutes (I timed it) before he appeared from a back room. I explained I have a guest pass from the website and he proceeded to tell me this location doesn’t accept guest passes even though the website says they do. To be honest the gym is nice when there's no one around, but you can go to any gym and have that depending on the time. I walked in to cancel my membership because I haven't been going and don't want to waste money. Once I told the owner this he immediately began to insult me. Said I gained 30 lbs, which is rude and untrue, then he began to tell me how sad and depressed fat people are. He even went so far as to tell me about mental health issues, suicide, and deaths in other peoples family. This had nothing to do with me paying off my membership and canceling it.
That's not normal. Customers are supposed to be served, not berated. The approach is terrible and the owner isn't a good person, just a rude salesman.

It is almost impressive how truly uncomfortable the owner makes me. During my summers and winters at this gym he was very touchy, rude, and ingenuine. In other reviews, Michael makes the reviewers sound belligerent and deceitful- I can confirm that he is in fact awful towards even the most innocent of gym users. Avoid this place if you can, especially if you lift weights (there are very few weights and over half the gym is cardio equipment, also you will be yelled at if you make any noise with said weights). I recommend any other gym over this one.
Edit: In response, to you, Mike- I stopped coming to this gym because it was in fact awful. Every gym I have been to since has been exponentially better. You should be truly embarrassed to be the way you are.

If you look through the reviews you can see incident after incident like this, where the owner of the gym becomes rude and confrontational with customers.
You can also see him behaving that way in his written responses to these reviews. Also, according to his responses, he seems to spend a large amount of time watching people on the cameras in that gym.

Thirteen years ago I joined this Anytime Fitness facility and could not be more pleased.
In this time of a pandemic, this gym is immaculate and the machines are always in working order. There are no lines to get on the equipment and the weights are re racked. The personal trainers are very knowledgeable and dedicated to helping their clients safely achieve their fitness goals.
You are asked to put on a clean pair of shoes when entering the facility to prevent the carpet from being trashed.

I have been a member at out fitness centers/gyms before, but started at Anytime Fitness in July. Unlike other places, you can come and get a workout in whenever you want; the music is always going and the lights are always on. The facility is impeccably clean which is due to Mike and his staff taking pride in how the facility looks and functions for all members. Floors, bathrooms, showers and all the equipment are regularly cleaned by the staff throughout the day. Additionally, as we deal with the current pandemic, disposable wipes are readily available so all members can wipe down the equipment once it has been used. This is a great practice that cannot be found in all facilities. All the staff are incredibly friendly and the other members are respectful and polite. The equipment you want is always available because all free weights, exercise bands, and other loose equipment is diligently put away. The personal trainers, Gabe, Danny, Joe, and Nico, always greet you and make you feel welcome. No matter what your workout level is, or your fitness goals, this is the place for you.

In July 2020 of the pandemic, I was seeking a new gym and was thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness and condition of this Anytime Fitness, its gym equipment, and the facilities (bathroom/showers). Mike and his staff keep this gym extremely clean and likewise its members are committed to keeping the gym clean. In my 18 months with this gym, the equipment has never been broken. If you go to any big name gyms in the area (like I previously have), broken equipment is always a problem and I am very pleased to say that this is not the case here. Mike and his staff are very personable and get to know the members on a first name basis, which makes for a friendly gym atmosphere. Lastly, I would like to say if you are hesitant about this gym because of the negative comments you see on here, don't let them fool you. When you sign up, Mike walks you through the gym protocol and ensures you know the few simple rules to follow to maintain the gym culture. I 100% would recommend this gym to anyone who prefers a clean gym environment that you can work out comfortably in, especially given the uncertainty of this everlasting pandemic.

I have worked out at numerous Anytime Fitness locations over the years and this is by far the best facility and staff. It is clean, safe, and welcoming. I don't mind following the company policies as I understood them when joining and they keep the place clean and safe/healthy (wearing masks). I really think this is a great local business.

No matter what level of fitness you feel you are at, you will never feel nervous coming to this gym. It’s such a great friendly and supportive environment and the staff is always going the extra mile and are always keeping it so clean. And as a women going to the gym can sometimes feel intimidating but I mean it when I tell you the owner will never let anyone make you feel uncomfortable here. Highly recommend

Mike has different rules than any other anytime fitness. You will NOT find a cleaner club than here. If you are visiting from a different anytime fitness you might want to find a different location. It is a clubhouse. Just because you pay a membership doesn't mean you can be a slob. You probably would be better off joining a different Club. Remember it's a business and try to respect the business owners rules. Unless they changed. It's a very small and very limited Club. You can stay healthy with what they provide here. As far as contracts always read the fine print. Some clubs are more flexible

I have never posted a review of a fitness center, but felt compelled to now. The only reason I found this review via Google maps is because I was looking at alternate sites, even though this one is very close to my new home.
I encountered the same thing several others have reported. I barely could walk in the door for the first time before Mike was on me about a change of shoes. I want to state that he wasn’t mean or rude. But as a guest, it’s a bit off putting for a first impression. He gave me his card, I went about my day.
A few days later, I was doing seated back rows. I apparently let the weights down too quickly. I know this because Mike was out by me again, politely telling me about the “no slamming weights” policy. Let me be crystal clear: I have been to a number of gyms in my life and seen slamming of weights. This was not that. While nothing he said was rude, it’s again off putting to have someone come from seemingly out of nowhere mid-workout. He proceeded to start the exact conversation we had a few days earlier and offer to get me his card, until I reminded him we have already met.
Mike—I’m writing this directly to you: it’s not necessarily anything you have specifically said or done (at least in my opinion), but moreso the manner in which you present yourself. Even your response to these messages is unprofessional and off putting. I’m sure you may be correct with the retorts you’ve offered to some of the people, but it’s just bad customer service. Although you may be following things to a “T,” at some point I’d think the repeated feedback would result in some degree of behavior change. That you instead respond in what appears a very defensive manner shows unwillingness to listen to the feedback of clients. I doubt this message makes any difference, but am sharing it in hopes it does. You have a clean facility, but—from my perspective—there’s some little changes in approach that would go a long way.
Edit—Mike: You are proving my point here man. I’m giving you honest feedback, not about the policies, but about your approach. I have no problem following rules and complied. The part I—and many others—are commenting on is you. This is why you have so many negative reviews. Instead of honestly assessing if there’s any change to your approach, you respond by getting defensive. Good luck to you.

I have worked out at various Anytime Fitness locations, and this is by far my favorite one. The facility is in outstanding condition with a variety of equipment and top notch cleanliness. The staff is very friendly and personable and always make you feel welcome, without over stepping. I usually come after work, much like everyone else, but I am never fighting for equipment or overwhelmed with how crowded it is. For anyone looking for an Anytime Fitness location, I would definitely recommend the one on 75th!

Immediately upon walking in, we were advised that we needed clean shows. Mind you. This was a sunny day with a temperature of 65 degrees. Our shoes were not dirty. After being harassed about our shoes, we were then told we set off the alarms and our keys didn’t work for this gym. After the guy went and investigated what happened. He came back and told us that they do not participate in membership for individuals who work for other anytime fitness locations… so if you work for the chain, you can’t come to this location. Which is incredibly discriminatory. So if your all for discrimination, continue to go here. Otherwise go elsewhere.
*update* to the owner. I went into your facility with my wife. She was not training me in “your” gym. So no, this was not the case in this situation. You need to stop spitting false facts.

I have been a member here for about 5 years, and before this I was in and out of gyms in many states, and military bases.
This gym has been a great experience, with a staff to match. The gym is always clean, equipment is in near perfect condition, with very rarely anything ever having to be fixed.
It is an amazing gym for those who don’t like the big crowds and loud gyms. If you like to get in and workout with out having to be hassled or waiting in line this is the gym.

The pros are if you want a clean/private gym, this is for you in my opinion. I’d give a 5/5 for the cleanliness of the gym and it being a private gym.
However, I’m not a fan of the owner which is why I give this location a 2. I’ve been disrespected on the phone by him a few times and in my opinion, it’s not what good customer service should be. I was hung up on when I asked when my membership was going to end. Also for me, he’s extremely pushy as a person. Some people may need that to be held accountable. But that’s too much for me.
After I paid off my membership in full 2 months ago (membership currently ends in December), what was left, ahead of time, I asked about personal training for any day since I have until December to use my membership (knowing he has 2-4 personal trainers). Mike said “all are booked at this time” and it was shut down with no recommendations until even December of possible openings in anyone’s schedule. Benefit of the doubt, timing could just be a coincidence where there’s no openings after I end my membership in a few months. Or maybe it’s not a coincidence. I will not know. But if your someone looking for personal training at a gym, right now it seems really hard to book and seems like no one is available any time soon. That’s a major reason I signed up for this gym. The easy access to trainers if needed/ wanted to book. Never had an issue in the past. Guess it’s just bad timing for personal training.
But again, if your strictly looking for a clean/private gym, this gym is for you! That’s the main reason I chose it from day one. And that Im being completely honest about

If you are in search of a quality gym, you have finally found one! Anytime Fitness in Naperville off of Rickert Road is a CLEAN, SUPPORTIVE and FRIENDLY gym.
This is the gym for me. I have held memberships at LifeTime and Planet Fitness and let me tell you that they do not compare to this Anytime Fitness.
The staff is extremely supportive; something that I have never experience at either of the Gyms I had previously frequented. The Owner for one is not only supportive, but also encourages you to reach your fitness goals. Never has anyone at either LifeTime nor Planet Fitness personally reached out to me to see how my experience has been. If you are the type that needs validation, join this gym!
The gym is kept super clean. You will not ever find dirty machines or dumbbells misplaced. The staff works proficiently and the members each do their part to keep the gym clean.
From each of my visits to this gym I have never felt intimated or unwelcome. Each member that I have interacted with has always been extremely friendly and considerate of each other; the ultimate environment for anyone who feels as though gyms are intimating.
This Anytime Fitness has all of the equipment you will need from machines to free weights to resistance machines. On top of that they have a separate room in which you can utilize to stretch or just if you want some additional privacy (I personally use it to stretch and warm-up). They offer additional events and private training, all you have to do is ask.
Support small business by enrolling in a membership. The rates are affordable and the staff is incredible.
I am so happy to have finally found a gym that works for me. P.S. They are 24/7!!!

After being a member at the ymca for years Pre-COVID I decided I needed to find a gym with better hours as theirs were still very limited during this time. Anytime fitness seemed like an obvious answer and my brother had been a member previously so I decided to take a tour. When scheduling a tour I received an immediate response and was able to get in right away. The facility is absolutely spotless and there are only ever a few people working out at once so you never have to wait for a machine or equipment. I’m someone who does a lot of exercises on a yoga mat so I especially loved that there’s an entire studio you can use. Even on my first day working out at the gym the owner, Mike, introduced himself and welcomed me to the gym. All the staff is super friendly and the environment is very calm. I immediately came home and told my family how nice the gym and staff was and that they need to join as well. Honestly, I feel like the price is a steal for how private and luxe the facility is. I can’t recommend enough!

I visited this location because they had a promotion on Facebook for a few 30 day trial. It's close to my home, I have friends who week out here and I am at a point Of like to start back to fitness since COVID restrictions are lifted. I filled out the form that I was directed to from the FB post scheduled my time online and then got a confirmation call. Great! Got to the facility did the tour, sat down to look at membership options asked about the 30 day promotion, I figured if I signed a 6 month promotion I'd get 7 month free or something...but was told, Sorry I gave that out this morning. I said, well that's what brought me in, the gym director jumped up escorted me abruptly to the door. I commented this feels a little bait and switchy, and he said... you can leave go get healthy someplace else. Annnnd so I did. Since posting my experience on FB and Twitter and contacting the BBB. I've heard some incredible negative experiences of this location and the owner.

This is a great facility! I have been a member for over a year now and couldn't be happier. This place is so clean! And the rules make you feel safe during these times. You must wear clean shoes in the facility, wipe down machines, and wear a mask. In addition, you must make a reservation so the club is not over-crowded during this time of Covid. It's been very easy to workout conveniently and safely. All of these precautions make me feel very safe about working out in a gym. Mike is a great guy who knows his customers like family. Anytime Fitness on Rickert Dr in Naperville has been my gym for the last 7 years. I don’t live in state but I am here once a month and it’s worth every penny to be a member here. Great equipment, great space, always impeccably clean. Mike adds a personal touch and I believe he knows every single member by first name on sight. I am a fitness competitor that grew up in the area of this gym. Being a fitness competitor I have been to hundreds of gyms throughout my years and never has an experience like I did with this one. I am an Anytime Fitness member and happened to be in the area of this club. I stopped in briefly, looked around and used the restroom. (Total time I was there was under 5 minutes). I received a call from Mike the owner the following day saying that I was not scheduled for a workout that day. I explained I had just stopped in briefly and did not know that being scheduled was required as it was my first time at his gym. He said using the bathroom was prohibited and I would be banned from his club from this day forward. I don't find it unreasonable that they do not allow members to use the restroom in the times of COVID , but I feel I should of gotten a warning for this as I explained I was not familiar with his rules. He still maintained it is a permanent ban. Very unreasonable. Stay Away

Furthermore, to the owner who replied with a slanderous comment claiming I was asked to leave. I dont slam my weights. I've never been asked to leave out of any gym including yours. While these are both posted on the clubs website, every other Anytime club I have visited (35+) do not require either of these and made all members (guest and home) feel welcomed. Seemed relatively unfriendly to members who belong to other clubs. If you’re traveling like myself I would recommend the Anytime on Highway 59.

I have been an Anytime Fitness member for a little over 3 years. I wanted to take some time to process before posting this review. This is specific to manager Mike Starck and his club at 1271 Rickert Dr. in Naperville. I rarely leave negative reviews. I am posting so hopefully nobody else has to go through what I did. Unfortunately, after reading numerous other reviews, it appears this is not the first time Mike Starck acted so irrational and unprofessional. After reading the experience of others combined with mine, this is what became apparent to me:
1. Mike Starck is without question the most unprofessional person I have ever encountered.
2. Mike Starck goes out of his way to target non-home club members. Home members are treated vastly different.
3. You are no more than a dollar sign to him.
4. Mike Starck blantaly lies. He deflects, and attempts to invent your narrative. There are many examples of him slandering the character or misrepresenting others position to “win” the argument should anyone leave a negative review of his club.
Here’s my experience:
I recently reserved a time to workout at the Anytime location on Rickert Dr. in Naperville, IL. It is not my home club, but was accepting reservations. The following day, I received a phone call from owner Mike Starck. Mike accused me of not wearing a mask upon entry into the club after reviewing video footage. Caught off guard, I assured him I had my mask on the entirety of my time, including upon entry. Mike continued to insist that I was not wearing my mask. The conversation then turned to me not changing my shoes upon entry. He followed up by telling me my Blue Cross Blue Shield WellOnTarget membership only payed his club a few dollars per visit, and would be going away soon. Now upset and essentially being told I’m a liar, I asked Mike “What the (blank) is the point of this call?” I told him it’s clear I am not wanted at his club. He didn’t stop there. He continued on, inferring I was a bad person and he doesn’t want people like me at his club anyway. I had to hang up at this point because the conversation was going no where.
Feeling so poorly treated, I took time out of my busy schedule to go to the club and ask to review the video with Mike of me not wearing the mask. I thought Mike would maybe act professionally and apologize for his made up story.
After waiting patiently for Mike to finish business at his desk, he stood up to greet me. Ironically, he was not wearing a mask until he stood up to address me. As soon as I introduced myself and asked if he would be willing to review the video footage with me, he became defensive. He brought up the shoes. As this is not my home club, I acknowledged I made an honest mistake and did not change my shoes immediately. It is not a rule I was used to during summer months at almost every other gym I had been to. I apologized, but eventually did change them once I realized it is his club’s rule. I asked again if he’d be willingly to show me the video of me not wearing a mask. It was at this point he began recording me with his camera phone, and told me I was trespassing and asked me to leave. He repeatedly kept saying “I’m asking you to leave sir, you are trespassing,” all while recording. Continuing to talk over me anytime I tried to speak, he claimed I went on a profanity tirade over the phone. My demeanor remained calm and non confrontational throughout. I never became disrespectful. Mike did. Mike made a scene in his own gym. He never showed me the footage of me being maskless because it does not exist. I left.
A week later and I am still in shock over how this man acted and treated me. He claims to promote a “positive club culture.” Is this type of treatment towards others part of your culture? I reached out to Self Esteem Brands, Anytime Fitness’ parent company. Their contact info can be found with a Google search.

Michael Stark is by far one of the most unprofessional individuals I've spoken to. Prior to reserving a time slot online, I read the COVID information and FAQs. After using the gym, Michael left an insolent voicemail that my access to the gym had been revoked. When I called for an explanation, Michael first pointed out that I had a home membership at a different gym. Then, he said "I didn't change my shoes as listed by the front door." I informed him club specific information was not listed on the website. When asked how I was supposed to know,Michael becames snarky and hung up the phone. You would expect someone to provide a warning or educate and confirm future compliance. I feel targeted because I don't have a home membership, but I can't deny wondering if race also played a part in his dismissive and curt attitude.

My favorite Anytime location! I joined after moving from NJ. I love that it's never too crowded. The owner Mike is one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. It's awesome walking in the door and bring greeted by name from the other side of the gym! Also the entire gym is kept spotless. I've been to many locations in the past 5 years but Naperville will always be home.

Fantastic workout environment! The atmosphere, cleanliness and staff is top notch here. Mike greets all members personally. A simple gym that I look forward to going to. Ideal for anyone in the area that needs to get a daily workout at any hour.

I was a full Anytime fitness member for 2 years. At the end of my contract I chose to participate in the Blue Cross Blue Shield fitness program. I've really enjoyed getting to know different gyms. About 2 months ago I started stopping into this Anytime location to do a quick workout about 2-3 times a week.... 20 minute cardio, a plank and maybe a few weight sets. I was respectful of Mike's no outside gym shoes policy and was very respectful of the gym and it's offerings. After winter break, I went to workout after school as I had been doing, only to find my key fob rejected. Mike found out I was on the BCBS program and told me he would not honor it so he blocked me from using his gym. His dislike for the program shouldn't result in me being turned away; he should consider working on this with his parent company or BCBS. Other Anytime locations have been welcoming. So instead of getting approximately a dollar for each of my workouts and having me support the growth of his business he'd rather people continue to feel bad after experiencing his gym. People will forget what you said but they will never forget how you made them feel.
