Signed up on 2021 and all was fine until mid 2025, when there was a sign left by someone that all gym employees decided to quit because they hadn't been paid in a while. I have called, left voicemails, and sent emails asking to cancel my membership since early October but no response. I had to call my bank to stop the automatic payments, and after stopping payments, I keep getting automated calls, texts, and emails from this place asking me to update my payment information and to back pay the previous two months plus late fees.

I've been a member for 2 years. I've been to various surrounding locations and they're all very clean. Unfortunately for the past 3 months I've been coming to this specific location since it is the closest of all but it is so disgusting I rather go to a further gym. The mirrors are dirty and the floors. The bathroom is disgusting. I don't think anyone has cleaned this gym in months. I can't even walk in to the bathroom to wash my hands because it is putrid.

when i first signed up they had told me 20 dollars a month, and outta nowhere they started charging me 40 a month with no heads up whatsoever and on top of that a 70 dollar maintenance fee every few months. staff is no where to be found ever. do not recommend.

In one word… dirty. I was visiting this AF due to my travels. The cleanliness doesn’t meet standard of this franchise. Water fountain is undesirable to use. Found three dirty towels in the women’s shower. Fitness room had several dust bunnies moved to the side that looked like they had been there for some time. Elliptical machine I used had mechanical issues, and it had dust all over it.

I moved to Oswego back in 2021 and been coming to this location for 4 years now. Today will be the last day for a while. There’s never any staff, the same machines (treadmill) has been broken for months now and this place is absolutely disgusting.

I know there’s people working from time to time because several pieces of equipment are missing from just the last weekend when I was here, but they can’t seem to take a few mins to clean the bathrooms? The patrons seem to be slobs too, with toilet paper all over the floors, massive puddles in the bathrooms, water bottles/caps and tissues in all the treadmills, etc.

It’s a few mins out of the way for me, but going to start going back to Yorkville because I feel like I’m going to catch staph anytime I use the bathrooms

Absolutely the worst gym I have ever attended. Keep your money because they won’t stop taking mine. Filthy, never staffed, never responsive- unreachable!!!
Super frustrating as I’ve left notes in their unattended office, calls unanswered, voicemails & emails never followed up on! I always try to give the benefit of the doubt but I’ve been trying to cancel my membership so it seems they only are available for new membership since that’s the only time I’ve seen anyone is when I first signed up, with an appointment!

This place is a train wreck. I had signed up for a 2 year overpriced contract and at the end of period I was not keen on continuing the contract and then suddenly due to some ownership issues the place is no longer staffed, with washrooms out of service and general lack of cleanliness. I have been trying to cancel my membership with no luck since no one is even there to talk to. They continue to try to charge my credit card. Anytime Fitness customer care is worthless and they have not done a thing about resolving the issue. Anyone in their right mind will not join this gym.

To whom it may concern,

I have been an Anytime Fitness member for over 8 years now. Unfortunately my most recent visit to the Oswego location last week was beyond disappointing. For example… No staff members (normal business hours), dust everywhere such as the on the floor and equipment, dirty bathrooms that had no soap or toilet paper, and last but not least the water fountain for drinking water tasted odd to me and sure enough that was dirty too. Im not sure what is going on at this location but i hope these issues get resolved soon. I have attached photos as well.

If I could give this place no stars I would. I’ve emailed 3 times, and have called 5 times to get my membership cancelled because I live out of state now. I have also told them my banking information is also incorrect, because I had to get a new account for moving out of state and they just keep sending me automated voice messages to update my billing information. They will not call me back to cancel my membership though. They say in their voicemail “your message is important to us” well clearly it’s not if you can’t call me back. I get it you don’t want to lose the $19 I pay you every 2 weeks, but it’s gotten a little ridiculous you can’t call me back.

Here’s an update 2 weeks later I have not received contact to cancel my plan STILL and they just keep sending me automated emails to update my billing. Well I’m not going that because I want to cancel and nobody has tried to contact me to cancel.

I go to Anytime fitness often because of the privacy and the 24 hour availability. I pay for a membership and I feel like I’m getting scammed. There is no soap in any bathroom so washing your hands is not an option when going to anytime. I tried to use the hand sanitizer pump and guess what it was also empty. I go late nights because of my work schedule and I have to wonder how many people who haven’t been able to Wash there hands are touching all the equipment. The mirrors and toilets are dirty aswell. When I signed up everything was clean and tidy and I was told I would be able to use the hydro massage bed. Now there is no massage bed and everything is a mess. $25 a week is not an appropriate price for this gym.

The Oswego Anytime Fitness is amazing! Always spotlessly clean. You can tell the manager takes pride in this gym. Equipment is always in good working order and it’s a great environment to get a good workout in. One of the best gyms I have been to. Thank you Oswego Anytime Fitness staff!

I enjoy going to Anytime Fitness no matter what time of the day. It is always clean and includes the restroom and laundry. You normally get a friendly welcome depending on the manager. I would highly recommend going to Anytime Fitness in Oswego.
There is only one small item I wish they would improve on and that is to download new videos for their treadmills.

I joined this gym because it's a 24 hours gym. Since joining, I have been training with Christine. I have worked with several personal trainers in the past and Christine is the best by far. She pushes me to new levels. She actually listens to me when I tell her my concerns about my body, unlike most trainers. I would recommend her, if you are at this gym and thinking about getting a personal trainer.

By far my favorite anytime location. Dave & Christine are always so inviting and keep that gym clean as can be! They are great trainers as well, you’ll see them training almost every time you’re in! You can tell everyone cares about this gym and it’s a great energy to come and workout in.

Also- after reading other reviews, I’ve never had to wait for a machine the entire time I’ve worked out here … and i go almost everyday at different times. There’s maybe 7-8 people here at peak hours.

I have just started in Oswego location and have worked with Christine, personal trainer. She has been so good and patient with me, one who hasn't exercised in ages.😊 She has been great to work with keeping me on track and that extra nudge but not beyond my limits. She listens to what you want out of the training and what works best for you. The center is clean and all are friendly.

This used to be a nice, little, low traffic gym where you could come in and get a workout in without being bothered.

Now it's ALWAYS overwhelmingly crowded, no space to do anything, they've signed up way too many people for this tiny 1000 square foot gym.

PLANET FITNESS IS A MUCH BETTER VALUE.

Honestly one of the worst gyms I’ve ever been too in my life and possibly the worst experience trying to get charges stopped being billed to my account I have emailed them several times over the last two years canceled my cards and all they tell me is “sir we don’t have your card information on us “ . Yet you’re charging me a 15.99$ fee every single month for the past year and a half and I haven’t stepped a foot into that facility .

This gym is extremely disgusting. They have removed all soap dispensers from bathrooms so no one can properly wash their hands. Was hoping this is a one time occurrence but they have been gone for over a week. On top of that they don't use sanitary wipes like most other anytime fitness gyms do. The other common option is spray bottles with actual towels. They don't do this either instead they have a very limited amount of bottles with thin paper towels. Most the time half the gym has to leave machines sweaty and dirty due to lack of resources which again is worse cus ppl can't even wash their hands. Owners of this gym should be ashamed and shutdown from ever owning a gym again. Removing basic sanitary items in a gym to increase margin slightly is absolutely disgusting and disgraceful.

I’ve been going here for over a year now and I was fine with the staff until they left us with Cade. My keycard stopped working and it’s been over a week since I contacted him so I haven’t been able to get in the gym. He takes his time getting back to you. I’ve been charged for the month and I should be able to get into the gym and train. I thought of getting a membership for a different gym but knowing them I’d probably be stuck with their contract and have to pay for 2 gyms. It’s a nice small gym but needs better staff.

This is a clean place to workout where everyone is respectful. It is usually not so busy that you cant get your ideal workout in. It is clean and the management is polite and does a great job.

For some reason it does seem like their is a a large ratio of Males to Females, but I do not see anyone harassing anyone ever. Everyone keeps to their own workout, aside from people that come in together.

After going to the Naperville Anytime for years where the owner meticulously cleaned daily this is surprising and very disappointing. Nice Gym. Its not crowded like other gyms. During peak hours you might see 10-15 people. They keep it clean. Gym manager was friendly and provided good information. I wish they had some good deals. They have initiation fees, security fees, maintenance fees (2 times in a year).
