I have been dedicated to yoga for over 30 years. My practice has evolved over time and now that I am almost 60 years of age, I am looking for a balanced and gentle approach that still challenges me with stronger poses. I am a Registered Nurse and also a 200 hour YTT so I am very picky about my yoga! I can't tell you how wonderful this boutique yoga studio is. The instructors and owner are wonderful. Each class is beautifully sequenced. The studio is intimate, clean and friendly. The only downside is parking can be a bit of a challenge because the parking lot is small and word is out there about how amazing this place is so don't get upset if you have to park on the grass. If you are looking for A+ level yoga right here in your own backyard, look no more ....

Amazingly welcoming and encouraging environment for a beginner like myself. I found the space very serene and the coach was excellent at differentiating verbal affirmations and instructions for the varying levels of those in the class. Biggest thing for me was the relaxed feeling and flexibility and strength gained from the time I spent at Balance doing yoga. I am REALLY looking forward to going back. This place is SPECIAL!!!

I was looking everywhere for prenatal yoga and could not find it anywhere until I found Balance. The instructor, Lisa, was amazing and such a calming personality. She mixed building our strength with restorative practices so seamlessly. The class was a reoccurring class so I was able to join throughout the majority of my pregnancy and it was super sweet to hear from them after I gave birth. Super happy to find such a welcoming and inviting studio!

I am so happy to have found my home for yoga and pilates. I have been attending classes for close to a year. I had been away from group fitness for a while and found the studio so welcome and encouraging. I started with yoga and over the summer did a 3 week intro to pilates. Now I'm hooked! Every teacher is knowledgeable and encouraging. I really love the small class size and community environment.

I have been attending Pilates at Balance for two years now. I had never done Pilates when I started, and now I’m going twice a week and can see such a difference. The instructors are so helpful and kind, and the schedule accommodates someone who works full time (thank you!). It feels good to be doing something that is not only good for my body but also brings some peace to a busy life.

I’ve been taking Pilates classes at Balance for a few years now and I’d highly recommend this studio to anyone wanting to give Pilates a try. It’s suited for people brand new to Pilates and to those of us who have been practicing for years. Balance is warm, friendly and inviting, and it lacks any sense of pretentiousness. Every body is welcome. I’ve been practicing Pilates for 15 years and I can attest that the instructors are educated and experienced and they put a lot of thought and creativity into every class. Trust me, you won’t find a better place to take Pilates in the west suburbs.

This place is great - I've been going for the last 10 months and I've felt supported through my wellness journey the entire time. They are just the right balance between crunchy and hard core where I feel challenged but not overwhelmed. The class schedule is convenient and the online booking and reminders system helps hold me accountable to my fitness goals. I look forward to going to my yoga and pilates classes every week! Thank you Balance!

I have been a client of Balance since its beginning...actually even before it existed as a studio and was operating from a basement space! I can't say enough about the community and the beautiful people who lead classes and provide training. PIlates classes at Balance have been the single best anti-aging decision I have made. I can especially recommend Patti Carr for a fantastic workout!

I’ve loved my experience at Balance. I started going to the prenatal yoga classes at 13 weeks and stayed till baby boy was born. Lisa was an amazing instructor, she guided us through gentle but effective movement to accommodate our changing bodies. She tailored the classes to help with specific aches and showed me stretches I could do at home to help with back pain. The entire staff is so kind and friendly, and the atmosphere in the studio makes you feel right at home. I’m excited to go back!

I have been a member for a few months and am so in love with this studio. I focus on gentle and release and restore classes. Every teacher I have taken a class with has been incredible by being clear in their instruction, offering the freedom to modify, and suggestions on how to support your practice. Gina and Emily are two of my favorites but you truly cannot go wrong here. The communication and customer service is beyond extraordinary. I highly recommend trying the trial period offer so you can test out a few classes and then use that info to decide between unlimited or a package instead. Because I loved it so much, I ended up doing unlimited. Also highly recommend the sound bath special event too!!

I came in as a guest. I've always only ever practiced at home. I'd heard too many horror stories of humiliation from instructors. As a shy person, I never wanted to even bother looking into a studio out of that fear.

A girlfriend invited me on a guest pass and reassured me that this studio and staff were all very warm and welcoming. I joined her for a gentle yoga practice led by Martha. From the start, I felt safe. She led a fulfilling, soft, mindful practice.

She gets it. Some yoga teachers out there don't get it. She gets it. I don't know how to explain it; but if you know, you know.

🙏 Thank you friends

I attended the prenatal yoga classes in my 2nd and 3rd trimesters and it provided so much help and support during my pregnancy. The wonderful stretches, exercises, and relaxation helped during both the pregnancy and delivery! I went into labor spontaneously when my water broke, labored at home for a while as my contractions built, then had an uncomplicated delivery with no pain meds or epidural. I attribute a lot of this to all of the stretching and exercise I got at this studio with Lisa so thank you so much for all the help and giving me the tools needed to do this!

I've been practicing yoga for 25 years and have attended many studios across the country. Balance Yoga may very well be the best. The facility is new, clean, functional, fully propped, and a beautiful space. The class offerings are varied and numerous, with fun new options added regularly. The teachers are personable, knowledgeable and student-focused. I moved here recently from San Antonio and intended to try out all the yoga studios within a 20 minute drive, but after trying Balance Yoga, I was hooked. All in all Balance Yoga, with its emphasis on strength, peace, and connection is a 5 star experience.

I started attending this studio as it offered prenatal yoga and I am so grateful for that random targeted Facebook ad (for once ha!). If you are pregnant this class is super helpful, I started attending right at the start of my second trimester and am planning on going until my due date. The class is unbelievably helpful for all the random pregnancy pains and incredible for back aches. The instructor, Lisa, is very kind and understanding of all the limitations while pregnant and provides modifications for poses and is overall very helpful. She also shares her vast knowledge on pregnancy and woman's body during that time. The class is a good blend of challenge (especially towards the end of the pregnancy) and is also amazing for your mind. Highly recommend for any mom to be!

It had been a while since I’d attended a class, but have always had great experiences. I attended one of the community classes for the teachers in training and remembered why I loved this studio. I've been going to this studio on and off for 2-3 years and love it. The new owner Beth has made it her own and I love the rebranding! The instructors are top-notch and I've loved every class I've taken, as each instructor's style is unique. While there are elements which are standard for every yoga class no matter where you go, the class experience here is just different... and elevated compared to a park district class. It's all about the details, and Beth has thought of every single one. There are environmentally friendly considerations throughout. My favorite classes are Soulful Yoga and Yin Yoga with Christy Studant. Can't wait to try aerial!

I highly recommend this studio! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ After conceiving my first child, I was looking for a workout session that would fit mine and babies needs and that was also safe. I heard about this studio from a fellow mom on Facebook and decided why not check it out. I attended my first session in the second trimester and needless to say, I wish I would have started sooner!

Lisa, our instructor, is so very passionate about what she does and really cares about all the future moms in the studio. She encourages all the women to get to know each other a little bit better, and because of this I came out with lasting friendships and support (preganancy can get lonely sometimes).

Before this, I attebded yoga only 2 times at a different studio and was hesitant to join only because I didn’t have the best experience, but I’m glad I gave this one a try because it was a vital part of my pregnancy journey.

Thank you Beth & Lisa for everything you do! I’ll be coming back with my little one for post natal yoga soon!

Sincerely,
Maggie

I joined Mindful Movements for yoga 3 years ago, and it has become much more than just a yoga studio! I have made friends here, and the teachers are so kind, patient, funny, and helpful. The in-studio experience has been amazing--beautiful and inspirational paintings on the walls, a beautiful wood floor, and sometimes they offer essential oils and even a head massage during savasana! They offer you get personalized attention and feedback to improve and feel more comfortable.

I lost 100 pounds about 10 years ago, so I have a constant challenge to keep that off...but I am still not slender with a "yoga body," so I came into this NOT as an athletic person. I could not even do a plank when I started. Didn't matter...they make it very clear that everyone is at their own place, and offer constant modifications to make things more or less challenging. There is a wonderful group here-no one ever judges you for what you can't do. The classes vary from somewhat intense flow classes, to moderate hatha and yin, to gentle restorative. There really is something here for everyone!

Since becoming a stay-at-home mother four years ago, I have been searching for a place like Mindful Movements. Last week, the stars truly aligned, and I stumbled across the website for Mindful Movements. I immediately signed up for two classes and a few days later, I went back and signed up for two more (signing up on the website is so easy and there are no fees!!)! I attended my first class which incorporated Gua Sha and restorative poses. Upon arriving, I felt instantly calm and was greeted by name. I had the opportunity to meet Beth, the owner, who is warm and invested in her students. As I walked into the studio, class was already set up for us and that made me feel so special. It was really nice to just be able to show up and get settled in. The facility is so clean, it has a changing area and cubbies for your belongings. The atmosphere there is so good. The class was amazing, and Donna did such a wonderful job of teaching us facial yoga. She answered all of our questions and helped whenever we needed it. At the end of class, I had the pleasure of speaking to the woman next to me who is a member and she raved about the studio as well. I am truly so thankful for this place, and I look forward to spending lots of time here where I can really dive into my own self care and creating more harmony and joy in my life.

I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to be apart of the Mindful Movements Prenatal Yoga series. I began my prenatal journey when I had just moved to the area and was at the beginning of my second trimester. As a first time mom, I had hoped to feel empowered in my birth experience and to meet strong women in the same chapter in life. I hadn’t practiced yoga (outside my living room) in several years and I immediately felt welcomed into this community at a perfect practice pace. Each class became the highlight of my week and each week I felt stronger and more connected with my twins. I loved being able to be candid with the other mama yogis about my symptoms and concerns, as well as gain insight and advice throughout my pregnancy. The movements of the practice were ideal for improving flexibility, strengthening focus on breathing, and instilling confidence.

My goal was to try to have my little cuties vaginally, despite what most doctors had recommended. I felt that my labor and delivery went smoother because I was not only physically prepared but also mentally strong. I was able to successfully have the birth experience I had hoped for and met a wonderful group of women I’m happy to call friends. I highly recommend Mindful Movements for more reasons than I can mention and I’m so grateful for the overall experience.

I started doing Yoga and TRX earlier this year to try and get my body stronger after the last 8 months of 2 cancer diagnoses, 3 sugeries, multiple procedures, countless dr visits and hormone therapy throwing me headfirst in to menapause. I am so thankful for finding a local studio that is a perfect fit. Everyone is so encouraging and you leave always feeling lifted up. I highly recommend if you are local and interested. I now go 5-6 days a week and already feel a difference.

I have been taking yoga and Pilates here for years
It’s so much more personal then a big health club!!
It’s just short of having your own personal trainer without the hefty fee..

Two years without yoga led to me feeling very disconnected from inner peace and from my body. At the behest of my therapist, I sought and found Mindful Movements in November 2021. Since then, my body awareness and inner peace are continually being restored. I love this place! Many caring and careful instructors, different yoga styles, pilates, TRX, and workshops to choose from. Highly recommend!

This studio changed my life! In mind body and spirit. The instructors Christy, Katie and Patti have a hands on approach you never feel lost or alone. I have never been to a studio like this. You know you are in the right place the moment you walk through the doors. ☮

I’ve been with mindful movement for almost 6 years. This place is definitely a five star studio for many reasons. The teachers make you feel that yoga is not about something you’re good at but something you’re good about yourself. The community is non judgmental and welcoming. The place itself is like a sanctuary where you find inner peace within you. After practice, you feel energized and restored. Mindful movement defines yoga as an ultimate exercise of mind, body and soul.

This yoga studio is the best in the west burbs! A few years ago, I moved away from my west loop Chicago studio. I was missing the social family of a studio. I “dated” all the yoga studios close to home. I finally found Mindful Movements and I knew it was meant to be! I love the flow yoga classes the most. The teachers are ALL amazing and so kind; they make you feel comfortable and push your level.

Mindful Movements is an oasis of serenity. I have been attending classes since they opened. The instructors bring their own ways of helping me find inner peace and strength. Belonging to this studio is truly therapy for me both in body and mind. My neighbor asked me if I was working out. I said that I was going to yoga once a week. She told me that she saw a difference in my posture and I looked very fit. I believe I feel my best when I keep yoga in my life.

I've lived in Glen Ellyn for about 7 years and recently stumbled upon Mindful Movements and I'm so glad I did. I was intrigued by the pictures and their class offerings so I took my first class a few weeks ago and LOVE this place. They offer yoga, aerial yoga, Pilates as well as a variety of workshops. I have never taken a Pilates class but I plan on trying it out as I think it's vital and important to have a well-balanced workout routine. The studio is absolutely stunning and I felt very welcome from the moment I walked through the door. I enjoyed my class with Katy and was fortunate to have taken my first Yin class with one of the Owners, Kristy, and I loved it so very much. I definitely plan to continue to attend classes here and would recommend others to try it out as well.

This is the best yoga studio I have found. The instructors have true compassion and excel in their education and obvious love of their craft. The owner, Christy, has this amazing natural ability of engaging “the whole person.” She truly is gifted!
