It’s CrossFit with guns. Need I say more? Seriously, I love this place. BattleFit trains you in an emergency skill, and then seamlessly integrates the skill into a HIIT session. So you have the usual high-speed sets on gym equipment, but then once your heart is pounding and your arms are shaking, you have to whip out a first aid kit and treat simulated massive arterial bleeding, or engage an active shooter while clearing a malfunction. This unique combo makes the exercises exciting, while helping you master emergency skills under pressure.

Dave and Melissa are both seasoned experts and great teachers. They worked closely with me to perfect my techniques and customize the workouts to keep them gentle on my body.

At 74 years old, I thought I might be beyond the age of being able to physically go through the training for the conceal and carry license. However, Dave, Melissa, and Ryan know exactly what they’re doing. They were patient and understanding while helping me overcome my lack of confidence. All of the BattleFit staff are extremely knowledgeable and experienced. This made the training clear and concise to me as an individual. By the time we went to the shooting range, I was very confident in the handling of my firearm, the safety steps required, and my ability to fire my gun for the first time since I purchased it. Yes, I had never actually fired a handgun before going to this class. As a sidenote, the BattleFit facility includes simulated firing scenarios that not only aided in our training but were fun and engaging. All together, the training was 16 hours as mandated by the state of Illinois. The fee for the class was more than reasonable, I felt. I highly recommend BattleFit720 and the ability of their staff to make sure every attendee is successful in their training.

Melissa and Dave were absolutely awesome last weekend in our CCL class! We had a blast while learning everything about conceal carry as well as learning about our individual gun. I had never handled a handgun before and now feel very confident and comfortable with our firearm. Dave is a very knowledgeable and competent instructor who shares his real life experiences while teaching that enables everyone in the class to not only learn the material but are able to retain it due to his brilliant teaching methods. Both Melissa and Dave were with every one of us while we practiced, helping with our stance as well as how to hold the gun to enable accurate shooting. When we went to the gum range, Dave was in my ear every step of the way ensuring me and giving me, a novice, the confidence and strength to remember all of the training and actually shoot a little better than my husband!
This was a phenomenal experience for my husband and myself and we will be back for other courses given by Melissa and Dave in the future!

The CCL course that BattleFit offered was just amazing! I feel so much more confident in my firearm handling skills. The owner, Dave, did an excellent job in our two day training session making sure all that attended were given his individual time and attention. He also enhanced the content with his own experience and made it even more interesting. BattleFit 720 has state of the art equipment and I was lucky to experience the training there. Love this fitness program. It’s so unique. It’s not cross fit. It’s like a cross between HITT and strength training + tactical and self defense training. The instructors/coaches are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The workouts are challenging and effective. I have become so much stronger, and as a busy working mom, it allows me to keep up with the kids both physically and energetically. I’ve learned tactical and other skills that I wouldn’t otherwise have learned without this program. I highly recommend it.
