This is the new way to challenge your fitness, they have classes for all levels! The studio has plenty of reformer, I did a class with a group of friends and it was so much fun! The instructors were great and If you want to challenge muscles that you didn’t know it existed this is the spot! Definitely coming back.

I just finished a fantastic class with Shaena. She provided clear instruction, comprehensive demonstrations, and helpful adjustments to ensure I was using proper form. I’ve never tried Bodyrok before as I am visiting from Toronto and normally go to Lagree or a more traditional reformer style. I would eagerly take another class with Shaena and the River North team again.

first time (and probably only newcomer to class) and Shaena did an amazing job taking time ahead of class to discuss how to operate their reformer machine and how to make adjustments for my knees, corrects form, and provides clear visual and verbal demonstrations throughout class! Super nice staff and clean area with nice natural lighting and privacy - would definitely recommend for a challenging, well-explained pilates studio that focuses on form first!

I’ve been going here for the past year and absolutely love it! It’s more affordable than other studios, and all the instructors I’ve had are super approachable, give helpful corrections, and make an effort to shout people out by name.

They switch up the routines often and always play upbeat music. I’m really sad to be moving away from the studio, I highly recommend it!

If you're looking for a workout that pushes your limits, BODYROK is the place to be. I hadn’t used a reformer in quite some time, and this session reminded me of muscles I didn’t know still existed! Even after just one class, I can tell how these workouts could help strengthen my core with consistent practice. I’m excited to make BODYROK a key part of my fitness routine.

I took the FLOW Sculpt Full Body class at BodyRok through ClassPass, and it was an incredible experience! I loved the mix of strength training, Pilates, and cardio—it was the perfect full-body workout. The facility is bright and energetic, with amazing music and cool blue & pink lights that kept me in the zone. Maggie was fantastic with her hands-on corrections, and the staff made me feel welcome from check-in to check-out. It was also great to be in a class with other newcomers, which made me feel even more comfortable. Definitely my favorite Pilates experience so far, and I’ll be back for more!

Just took my first class and with was Abby on Sat (Rok Your Body). My second time ever on a reformer and I have worked out in two years. It was tough. But Abby explained the machine, gave modifications for harder steps and the class flew by. It was actually emotional because I see how far I have to get back to my goal. But Abby and Mecca talked me through feeling down about myself and I left feeling really encouraged.

Came here yesterday for an introductory class. And it was so intense. We worked every muscle in my body. The instructor Pablo was so helpful and nice and helped every one through the class who were a little lost or stiff without slowing the rest down. The music was great and upbeat. I really enjoyed the Flow class with Cooper. I’ve taken classes at Studio Lagree and solidcore; however, I felt most comfortable here at Bodyrok. Cooper was so helpful and friendly at the start of class and throughout. She would always come by to check on me and gave me tips on how to do some of the exercises. I definitely see myself coming back to this studio! Loved the equal focus on the obliques and abs as the other studios seemed more into leg work. Thanks Bodyrok & Cooper!!

Lainey was a great instructor! I had previously tried solidcore but didn’t like the environment and didn’t see myself going back. However, after only one class here through class pass I know I’ll become a regular! Great instructions at a good pace with great music - but not too loud where you can’t hear the instructions. Small class versus solidcores large classes where sometimes it’s hard to see. The instructor also did a great job of correcting people off mic. Would def recommend for anyone looking into reformer Pilates classes.

Literally the worst pilates studio, im new in town and google maps has it that the location is in the alley and not on the street. I stood looking for the entry way for 5 mins when finally i found it i was 5
mins late . The girl would not let me in she said the class has started. I told her that I have been doing pilates for a while and im okay to join. She signed me in as i showed up and wasnt able to book me for another class and then just said its our policy. If you are an expat her in Chicago I recommend going anywhere else this place is not foreigner friendly at all. The class started at 5:30 i walk in at 5:35 pm. Zero stars

Careless instructor and uncomfortable experience!

I had a disappointing experience at BODYROK. I booked a class through ClassPass for 11AM, but when I arrived, the studio was locked. The receptionist, Emily, informed me that first-timers need to arrive early for safety procedures, which was not mentioned on ClassPass (I even showed her my phone so that she could see that it’s not mentioned). Emily was very understanding and kindly helped me reschedule for a 12PM session. I come back 15 minutes before 12PM and entered the class. When I arrived, the instructor, Naz, didn't introduce herself or provide any instructions on how to use the machine (was that not the whole purpose of arriving 15 minutes early?). I felt completely lost throughout the class and had to rely on others beside me to understand what to do. I was concerned that I would injure myself. At one point Naz came up to me and adjusted something and said “you have it on the highest weight”. Naz seemed bothered that I didn't know this. Overall, it was an uncomfortable experience. Would not come back.

BAD EXPERIENCE: (trigger warning) sizeism, profiling and racial bias

My friend and I have been wanting to try pilates for some time so we decided to come here (Body Rok). We saw online that Body Rok's 6:30pm class on 3/9/23 had a waitlist and when I tried to call and inquire about it, we received multiple notifications that their phone line's were busy. So, my friend and I came into the studio at 5:40 pm-ish to let them know we've never tried pilates and are interested in trying them out for the first time. We then inquired about getting on the 6:30pm waitlist and the front desk associate communicated to us one spot was available and another spot might open up because people sometimes don't show up.

She then asked us to come back at 6:30pm and if a spot opened up, she'd be happy to give it to us. We walked around the neighborhood and came back around 6:19pm-6:21pm (CT). Shortly after I entered, I noticed a lady was sitting on the counter talking to the front desk associate. I walked up and asked them where the bathroom was. After doing that, my friend walked in and sat down in the waiting area. I noticed when my friend walked in the lady on the counter began to look us both up and down. When I returned and began chatting with my friend, we both looked to the side and saw that the lady on the counter was now leaned over and whispering in the ear of the lady at the front desk. When the front desk lady realized we saw them looking at us and whispering, she gave this almost surprised/guilty look and we both just looked away. I thought it was odd but I continued to talk to my friend about how I'm looking forward to joining the class as there looks to be a few open spots and it was almost already 6:30pm. So, I was excited.

After the lady on the counter stopped whispering in the front desk associate's ear, the front desk associate said aloud yeah sorry you'll probably have to do another class and mentioned things like we would probably have to complete registration and haven't done that which was odd since we originally got there at 5:40pm-ish. My friend and I both glanced at each other confused and after a few different excuses the instructor jumped in and mentioned how she would have to get us set up and how it would interfere with her teaching the class which was odd because we arrived 10 minutes early.. We continued to politely smile and listen and the excuse changed to how there are easier classes for us to try. After that, we just thanked them and walked away. Immediately, after leaving and getting in the car, we saw from the studios window the front desk associate cleaning every area that we were in.

Looking at this experience as a whole and exploring how we felt while there and after, it is me and my friends personal opinion that our body size as well as our race are the reasons the pilates teacher did not want us in her class. Most people taking these classes appeared to be very petite and primarily white with 1 petite black woman being in each class that we saw while waiting. And we do not fall in either of those 2 categories. Ironically, we also did not witness any of the girls coming in receiving any of the looks and interactions we did such as the looks we received from her after we entered to how she whispered in the front desk associate's ear while looking at us to comments being made about what might be easier for us regarding a class option. It's sad in today's day and age in the fitness industry that WOC and people who aren't petite are treated as such. Do better.

Not happy with how my first interaction with this place turned out. It was unpleasant, unprofessional, BODY SHAMING and non welcoming environment!! Upon, walking up to the location the doors were locked but there was people inside. Then the front desk lady wasn’t too friendly towards me and my friend and was confused on why we were there (clearly to take a class at a different time). After briefly discussing possibly joining a waitlisted class, she offered us to come back at 6:30pm and see if spots were available. The entire time my friend and I was respectful, polite and friendly.

Fast forward, it’s 6:20pm and we return to see if spots were available, (there was 3 spots open keep in mind) the instructor was sitting on the desk awkwardly when we arrived and noted my friend and I as we walked in and didn’t say anything. My friend walked away for a brief moment and I noticed both the instructor and front desk talking in a hush tone while looking at the both of us. The front desk lady proceeded to inform us that “ We will need to book another class due to walkthrough of the machines and registration and it wouldn’t be enough time for that (this wasn’t the case because we arrived there within reasonable time to complete everything).

They honestly did not want us to join the class for personal reasons and it was unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. If you didn’t want us to join the class THEN SAY THAT! Also, we left and proceeded to our vehicle and got in and proceeding to pull off, we SAW that the FRONT DESK LADY VACUUM THE SEATING AREA WE WAS IN AFTER WE LEFT. That was unnecessary to do because when we arrived an hour prior she did not vacuum the area! All in all, not pleased with the way things was handled, communicated and dismissed!
